“If you’re looking a family environment for your dog to be a part of whilst you’re away. You’ve found it ✨ Our Labrador Moose stayed with Caro and her family for the weekend, whilst we were at a wedding. We met up for a walk before on the open fields in front of Caro’s house and after meeting Caro and Pepper (the families Labrador) and seeing where Moose would be staying, we felt couldn’t have found a more lovely family for him to stay with. We were fine to take his big bed, toys and whatever we needed and Caro was comfortable giving moose his allergy tablets. Communication was great over the weekend and we really enjoyed all the photos Caro sent us. Moose looked like he settled in really quickly - playing with Caro’s son. He was walked everyday and got to paddle in the stream and run in the fields - it looked like he had a happy holiday whilst mum and dad were away and we will definitely be rebooking. Thanks Caro, Pepper & family xx”

“Our dogs loved staying with Luke. Went for lovely walks and were looked after as if they were their own. Great communication and flexibility as well. Will be using Luke’s services again for sure.”

About: Hello! I’m Hannah and I’ve been a huge dog lover since a very early age. I regularly look after family, friends and colleagues dogs and now do this alongside my full-time job. I have also fostered dogs long-term for Raystede animal charity. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. For dog boarding, I appreciate that every dog has their own individual needs and routine and I try to recreate this in my home. I know pets are family, and I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. I work from home 3 days a week and have alternate Friday’s off, so I have lots of time to cuddle your pups! I don’t work weekends so am extra flexible on Saturdays and Sundays. There are two external doors (excluding front door) to get outside, so your pets will be very safe in the flat. There is a communal garden unfenced but away from the road, a woods about 5 minutes away, plus a large park at the top of my road.
“Jordan looked after Bailey and Nova as if they were her own. She sent plenty or pictures and videos, they went on beautiful walks and I could enjoy my holiday without having to worry about them. The dogs looked happy in all pictures which shows the care and love they received. I would highly recommend Jordan.”

Bobby has just had another fantastic stay with Karmen! He gets lots of attention and exercise, just as he likes it. He is always happy to arrive at Karmen's, and we have peace of mind knowing he's getting the best possible care. Thank you, Karmen, Gandalf and the boys! :)

We are so happy we found Christina and Reece to look after Indie. They gave her such a loving and fun environment while we were away. They shared updates and photos which really helped us to know she was having a lovely time. We would thoroughly recommend them to look after your pets.

Having only ever used kennels before, I wanted my dogs to have more of a home from home experience whilst we went away. They definitely had that with Tristan and his family. We received regular photo updates of both dogs looking chilled and relaxed. They’ve come home happy and completely unstressed. Thank you for looking after them so well.
Lydia, Toby and their lovely dog Hector looked after our Border Terrier while we got married. They sent regular photos and updates and even went to the trouble of sending us an excellent of photo of our dog Leo next for a sign they had made wishing us a happy wedding. They truly went above and beyond and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave Leo with them again. Their dog Hector was so friendly and Leo has made a new friend. Thank you so much!

Jordan was extremely warm and flexible with our dog Phoebe. We loved how Phoebe had ample space to run about and have fun. It was such a warm and loving environment in Jordan’s home, which Phoebe thrives in. She is an anxious dog but Jordan had a lot of patience with her. There were also regular check-ins and pictures provided to give us some reassurance that Phoebe was doing ok! Jordan was fantastic from the start and we will definitely book with her again.

Jenni was really interested in the dogs, looked after them well and we had great communication, keeping us informed about everything. We had a visit with her prior to our stay, so everyone could meet, we could see where the dogs would be staying and discuss all the needs of the dogs and their routines, which was very useful. Jenni is very kind, considerate and mindful of all requirements for the dogs and making sure their humans are kept informed. Many thanks.

I was so impressed with Lara and Simon, they did a fantastic job with my old pointer, Tilly. Tilly's very clingy and has a special diet, so she's not the easiest to look after, but they were really accommodating and did such an amazing job of making her feel welcome and keeping her happy! I would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for a dogsitter ❤️

We cannot recommend Ilona enough! As new dog parents, we were understandably nervous leaving our puppy for the first time, but she put us completely at ease from the very start. Ilona was so warm, accommodating, and genuinely reassuring throughout the whole experience. Our pup had an absolute blast and exactly what we were hoping for: loads of activity, plenty of cuddles, and wonderful socialization with other dogs. Ilona's home is clearly a loving and stimulating environment, and you can just tell she genuinely loves and cares for your dog, The regular updates and photos she sent along the way meant the world to us to see our pup so happy. She is without a doubt incredibly skilled, and we will be rebooking without a single hesitation. Thank you so much Ilona, our puppy loved every moment!

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
