“5 stars every day! Mila and Andrii have been incredible with our fur baby, Zero. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her and for updating us regularly on how she was getting on. Great communication throughout and would 100% book with them again!”

“Thank you once again for taking great care of Mabel for the week. Sarah provided regular updates of Mabel’s adventures with her dog Buzz which was very reassuring. We will definitely be using Sarah again. Thank you!”

“Sarah was great with our Maltipoo. He has come back full of energy and happy so has been well looked after and cared for. It felt like he was welcomed as part of the family.”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“Our dogs had a great holiday with Daphne. She's very flexible and reliable. We felt very assured that they were well looked after, even during a very hot week. Daphne gave regular updates, about twice day, with photos. It's lovely to know that the dogs are doing well. We'll definitely book with Daphne again.”

“I'm very happy with Toni .I had photos every day how my dog is doing. I will be leaving my dog with them definitely next time as well! I can tell they cared a lot about my dog and loved him too 😊”

“Joely is wonderful, she stayed up with doggo whilst she settled on the first night. She sent photo updates of doggo having a blast and snuggles in silly ways. Doggo is chilled where she has obviously come back from her own relaxing holiday. Can't recommend Joely enough! Thank you Joely, you're a wonderful and caring human. Thank you for sharing your home with our fluffy family member.”

“Uma looked after our pet cat for 1 week and I can honestly say I've never met such a friendly, caring and loving pet sitter. Our cat can be quite shy (as he is very young) but Uma made him feel so at home and she even sent us daily pics to show how he was getting on. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in using Uma again - her lovely personality brought out the best in our cat whilst in her care and I have no doubts she would bring out the same in any others that choose to use her. Thanks Uma ...you are amazing !!”

“Carry & Seb took great care of Kulta, they understood her needs perfectly and she settled in with them really quickly! We got lots of updates and would definitely go with them again :)”

“Roland was recommended to me as someone with experience with mini schnauzers, and he was available for a last-minute stay. We had a meet-and-greet beforehand where Mungo and I met his gorgeous greyhound Laurie. Roland is friendly, calm and clearly adores dogs. He communicated regularly throughout Mungo’s stay and sent me plenty of pics. I was super happy with him and will definitely use him again. Thanks!”

“Amazing overnight stay for my boy Jet with Leanne and Abbie. Right from the off-set, Leanne and Abbie really took the time to understand the needs of my Frenchie Jet, and made his stay comfortable, enjoyable and provided me with the confidence I was looking for in leaving him. Would definitely book again (I have already), and would highly recommend Leanne and Abbie. Thank you from me and Jet”

About: About Me Recently relocated to Brighton after many years pet sitting in Kingston/Surbiton. Lifelong animal person, I’ve had dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs… even a Jersey cow, goat and chickens at one point, so I’m very comfortable around different animals and temperaments. Alongside my regular cat clients, I now also dog sit — often for the same households who trusted me with their cats first. I only take one dog booking at a time, so your dog gets my full attention, a calm environment, and consistency. I’m happy to: • Sit in your home • Or host at mine (by arrangement) ⸻ My Experience I had two rescue cats (Niles & Frasier) from 6 months old who lived to 16 and 15 slightly eccentric, very loved, and much missed. I’ve also worked with a local rescue collecting abandoned cats and fostering so I’m confident with shy, anxious or more “characterful” pets. I now have a number of regular clients and repeat bookings.
“Andrew was absolutely brilliant! He is reliable, caring, and clearly loves dogs. My dog came back calm, happy, and well looked after. Communication was great the whole time, with regular updates and photos. I wouldn’t trust anyone else now. Highly recommend.”

“Sara and Franz are very kind, caring, sweet souls. We left our dog, Fig, in very safe hands. She was extremely comfortable right from the start and didn’t want to leave…she was a very happy dog when we picked her up (which isn’t normally the case). Sara’s place is very neat, tidy and dog friendly with lots of space and a garden. I’d highly recommend them and will be booking them again very soon.”

“We left our dog with Arnav for five days and she had a wonderful time all through. All the walks and meals were taken care of well and we recieved regular updates and pictures every day. It was a very homely vibe. Very satisfied with the service and highly reccommend.”

“The dogs had the best time with Laura and her partner, they made themselves right at home, we were kept updated with lots of pictures and we’d love for them to stay with them again 😊”

“Courtney was a very sensitive and thoughtful carer. Daisy had a lovely time and enjoyed lovely walks on the South Downs and plenty of snuggles. Will definitely use again if possible 😊”

“Alex looked after our ageing Jack Russell, Betsie, for an overnight stay. She isn't the easiest dog, being of a nervous temperament. Alex cared for her well, putting both Betsie and us at our ease. We'll use Alex again, and would highly recommend his services.”

“Tilly enjoyed her stay with Verity and her family. She was very well looked after! Her children enjoyed playing with Tilly making her sit, paw, roll over etc. Verity kept in contact with me during Tilly’s stay and kept me informed about her well being. Thank you Verity ! 😊”

First time using Rachel to look after our pups and we wouldn’t use anyone else now! She was absolutely fantastic and really put us at ease leaving them with a new person. She sent regular updates and photos and took such good care of them and was more than happy to do an initial meeting to make sure everyone was happy and the pups warmed to her. Such a lovely girl, thank you so much!

Valentina was a fantastic dog sitter! Barney was incredibly happy and well cared for. Communication was excellent, and we received regular updates, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. I would happily use Gemma again to look after my dog, Honey. Gemma is very friendly and kept me updated regularly with messages, videos and photos whilst looking after Honey. Gemma was also very thoughtful and brought treats with her for Honey to have. Honey was very at ease and relaxed after Gemma had been caring for her.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for Rocco. Rebecca and her family were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Communication throughout our holiday was excellent, with regular updates and lovely photos of Rocco, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Rocco clearly had a wonderful time and was so well cared for. We would highly recommend Rebecca and her family and would happily trust them with Rocco again. 🐾❤️

Eddy was so happy staying with Laura and certainly made himself at home. Laura sent us photos of Eddy while we were away and ensured all his needs were met and he didn't get too hot in the warm weather. We would highly recommend Laura, Eddy has enjoyed both stays and I'm sure he would like to stay with Laura again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
