“I cannot recommend Lin enough after she cared for our precious boy as if he were her own. When I collected him could see how happy and settled he was in her lovely cosy home. We agreed that she would send a picture a week as this was a 4 week booking but she went above and beyond with contact messages, photos and videos. We will definitely be using her again and thank her so much”

“Valentina is awesome!! She was very flexible when we had a change the arrangement and came to stay at our house. Juno loved her being her and she was extremely well looked after. Valentina sent messages and pictures while we were away. I would highly recommend!”

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Inesa took such great care of our Lily. Communication was excellent, and we felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. Lily was well looked after, and it was clear she was happy and comfortable. We highly recommend Inesa and will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“We met Antonia for a meet and greet with our very anxious cockapoo, Bodie. Antonia was lovely with him and agreed to have him for a short stay despite his anxious whining during the meet and greet! We had contingency plans in case he wouldn’t settle during his stay but knew Antonia would do her best to keep him happy and calm. When we dropped Bodie off it did take him a few hours to settle as we suspected it would, but Antonia sent a reassuring picture and update once he had settled which I really appreciated. We definitely need to take things slowly with Bodie and won’t be leaving him for long periods at a time but I wouldn’t hesitate in leaving him with Antonia again and totally recommend her.”

“Hannah was great! Plenty of updates for an overnight/ following day sit. Took great care of Lulu came back to a very happy dog. Hannah and Ryan both are very obviously great dog lovers and have a lovely home and Lulu was very happy with them. Will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Alexis has been an excellent dog sitter. Very reliable and caring, and he kept me updated throughout with pictures and regular messages so I always knew how things were going. My dog was clearly well looked after, and I felt completely at ease.”

“Our girls (3 dogs) had been for a 2 night test stay in July It was now time for the big holiday To go away with having no fear as to how your pets would be is worth it's weight in gold To come back and see how happy they are and having not lost weight is fantastic (as normally happens in kennels) Thank you so much for taking such care of the girls and we would highly recommend you. Such a lovely family as well”
About: I am a lifelong animal lover and have grown up around pets — both cats and dogs. I'm vegan and genuinely care deeply about animal wellbeing. Recently, I looked after my sister-in-law’s small, nervous dog for three weeks, including supporting crate training and settling into a calm routine, which we absolutely loved. That experience is what inspired me to join Rover. I'm patient, attentive, and committed to giving every pet a safe, relaxed, and caring experience. I currently work from home, which means I’m around during the day to look after furry pals, including short walks or check-ins at lunch. I’m also available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding during the evenings in the week. At weekends I’m very flexible and, when free, would love to spend time with pets then too. This flexibility means I can fit pet care naturally into my daily routine and give animals plenty of attention rather than rushing visits. I live in a one-bedroom flat with laminate floors and a small fenced garden. I work from home, so I can keep an eye on your furry friend throughout the day and give them all the attention they need — whether that’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or even some late-night Netflix binging together! I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routines to make sure they feel comfortable and at home.

“Joely is wonderful, she stayed up with doggo whilst she settled on the first night. She sent photo updates of doggo having a blast and snuggles in silly ways. Doggo is chilled where she has obviously come back from her own relaxing holiday. Can't recommend Joely enough! Thank you Joely, you're a wonderful and caring human. Thank you for sharing your home with our fluffy family member.”

“So happy we found Sarah! So friendly, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and a great communicator. Sarah struck me straight away as someone who genuinely likes dogs and cares about them feeling comfortable when they are in her home or on a walk with her. Will be booking Sarah for day care and walks again! ? ?”

“Bertie was VERY happy to see Caroline again and she took great care of him, taking him on long walks and giving him lots of snuggles. He ate all of his food, which he doesn’t usually do when he’s with a sitter as he’s quite anxious, so it shows he’s very comfortable with her, which is great. It’s so reassuring to know he’s so well looked after when he’s with her. Thank you, Caroline”

“Lois was amazing, really communicative and friendly! She was so pleased to see Tinto and he was so happy and well looked after when we picked him up! Amazing dog sitter and Tinto is excited for his next stay with her.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after Cooper while we attended our son’s wedding. Helen was fantastic from start to finish. She kept us updated throughout with messages, photos and videos, which really helped us relax and enjoy the wedding knowing Cooper was happy, settled and being so well cared for. It was obvious from every update how much attention, affection and care he was getting. Cooper looked completely at home, relaxed and content, and Helen clearly understood his personality and routine straight away. She even took him to the paddock, which he absolutely loved. Helen is warm, reliable and clearly loves dogs. We would not hesitate to leave Cooper with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their dog. Thank you again Helen, from all of us, especially Cooper! 🐾”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Oreo received during his two two-night long stays at Leanne’s and Abbey’s place just before Christmas. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he was not just looked after but truly spoiled and treated like part of the family. We received regular daily updates with photos and videos, which were so reassuring and showed how happy he was with his tail wagging constantly and clearly loving his little holidays. They took him for lovely walks by the seaside and even went the extra mile by buying him Christmas presents, which was so thoughtful. Seeing how relaxed and joyful Oreo was made it obvious how well he was cared for. A top-class service and a five-star experience! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Leanne and Abbey to anyone looking for fabulous dog sitters. 🐾”

“This was Bailey’s second stay with Sarah and her lovely family. He had a wonderful and very fun time during this stay and came back a very happy boy! Had lots of messages and photos of Bailey which helped as we missed him loads! Would absolutely send him to have fun with Sarah again!”

“Thank you Tamsin for looking after Nifty and Ruby, they come back looking as though they have had a really good holiday and I am really reassured by that. Would highly recommend her and her family”

Tamsin took a last-minute booking without any fuss and was so kind throughout. She managed Pablo’s specialised care needs capably, and Mila was well looked after and clearly happy. Warm, reliable, and knows what she’s doing! Highly recommend! Thank you so much Tamsin! 🤗

Inesa was fantastic! She boarded our cockapoo, Koki, for 3 nights and Koki had a lovely time. She came back home relaxed and happy, and clearly enjoyed her time with Inesa. Inesa sent regular updates, and we were very comfortable that Koki was being well looked after. We’ll very happily use Inesa again in the near future.

Valentina was brilliant with Bonnie! Bonnie is a very nervous dog, and Valentina made such an effort to help her feel comfortable by meeting us for a walk beforehand and inviting us over for a quick visit before her stay so Bonnie could get used to the house. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout, which was so reassuring, and it was lovely to see how quickly Bonnie settled in. We’d definitely book with Valentina again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

Antonia was brilliant with Loki, she looked after her for the first time during our house move, when I dropped Loki off she was very unsettled, Antonia very quickly calmed her down - when I picked Loki up the next day it was plain to see they are now firm friends! Will definitely use Antonia again and would throughly recommend!

Lin has had Mabel before but Saturday was the first time that she had stayed overnight, Mabel has separation anxiety but she slept all night, which is amazing. Lin kept in touch & also administered Mabel’s medication in the morning. I was really relieved that Mabel had settled. Lin is very calm and comforting for Mabel, I was really pleased & will definitely ask Lin to have Mabel again

What a gorgeous family - we couldn't have asked for more for our Bella who was looked after like she was one of the family. Bella had a fab time going on lovely walks, swimming in the sea and having lots of snuggles - I would definitely recommend Ausra. How lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter for our Bells!

This was the first time I used Robins services for doggy day care and I can honestly say I didn’t worry at all when my boy was with her. Robin is very friendly and communicative, she even sent me a photo of my boy with her gorgeous dog. I’d definitely return to Robin again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
