“This was the first time we had used Myla and would not hesitate in using her again, from drop off to pick up Myla kept us informed with texts and pictures and clearly our Cairn had a fantastic time and has never appeared so relaxed and happy before when we have gone away. I cannot recommend Myla and her partner highly enough.”

“I can’t recommend Valentina highly enough. She kindly accommodated a very last-minute request after another boarder cancelled, which already meant a lot. From the start, it was clear that she has a huge understanding of dogs and is incredibly caring and patient. My dog Kiki can be quite anxious, but Valentina was so accommodating and attentive to her needs. She kept me updated with plenty of messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. Most importantly, Kiki was completely at ease during her stay and came back home relaxed and happy. Thank you, Valentina, for taking such wonderful care of Kiki — I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Inesa took such great care of our Lily. Communication was excellent, and we felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. Lily was well looked after, and it was clear she was happy and comfortable. We highly recommend Inesa and will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Murphy stayed overnight with Lin for the first time and from the photos she sent, he seemed to make himself very much at home in Lin’s! We got a very relaxed and chilled out Murphy next morning! We’re so happy leaving Murphy with Lin! She takes such good care of him and he clearly loves all the attention she gives him! Thank you so much Lin!”

“Alexis has been an excellent dog sitter. Very reliable and caring, and he kept me updated throughout with pictures and regular messages so I always knew how things were going. My dog was clearly well looked after, and I felt completely at ease.”

“Verity was great - giving us regular updates and photos / videos of Rocky while we were away. Her house is an ideal set up with a high walled garden. It’s clear both Verity and her girls love dogs and made Rocky very welcome - thank you!”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“Leanne and Abbie were amazing, I am so happy we have found them. They looked after Murphy like he was their own, sent us photo's and videos everyday and were just lovely people. He got so much love and attention I don't think he wanted to come home! We will definitely be using them again.”

“Hannah and Ryan are fantastic! They got in touch in advance to iron out all the details and were really flexible and on time with pick up. They updated us daily and it was obvious how happy and relaxed Cooper was with them. Lots of beach walks and cuddles! Thank you guys. Will 100% be booking again 😎”

“Daphne was very welcoming and caring four our two dogs. Giving updates and pictures on walks etc, which was appreciated. The dogs looked very well on collection and I think would love to go back again when the opportunity arises.”

“Klaudija and Charlie were perfect sitters! They welcomed our dogs, Bobbie and Mabel, taking the time to ensure they got on with Lily the dachshund and sending lots of pics. They dropped them back to ours after too which was so helpful. A huge thank you Klaudija 🙏”

“We met Antonia for a meet and greet with our very anxious cockapoo, Bodie. Antonia was lovely with him and agreed to have him for a short stay despite his anxious whining during the meet and greet! We had contingency plans in case he wouldn’t settle during his stay but knew Antonia would do her best to keep him happy and calm. When we dropped Bodie off it did take him a few hours to settle as we suspected it would, but Antonia sent a reassuring picture and update once he had settled which I really appreciated. We definitely need to take things slowly with Bodie and won’t be leaving him for long periods at a time but I wouldn’t hesitate in leaving him with Antonia again and totally recommend her.”

“What a gorgeous family - we couldn't have asked for more for our Bella who was looked after like she was one of the family. Bella had a fab time going on lovely walks, swimming in the sea and having lots of snuggles - I would definitely recommend Ausra. How lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter for our Bells!”

“Marcus and Shelley were perfect hosts for our two working cocker spaniels! They had a fabulous holiday and the youngest no longer snatches treats from our hands. Have already rebooked for a couple of weeks in December. Huge garden and access to land for long secure off lead walks in the countryside.”

“Carry & Seb took great care of Kulta, they understood her needs perfectly and she settled in with them really quickly! We got lots of updates and would definitely go with them again :)”

“Courtney was a very sensitive and thoughtful carer. Daisy had a lovely time and enjoyed lovely walks on the South Downs and plenty of snuggles. Will definitely use again if possible 😊”

“Having Buddy stay with Matilde was such a positive experience. The booking was really last minute and Buddy had recently been in season so couldn’t go off the lead. Matilde was so accommodating and helpful buddy had a great time and came back relaxed and in her usual routine. Thank you!”

“Andrea is great with Rusty - he didn't even look back when we dropped him off! Excellent at letting me know how he is getting on too, which just means that I never have to worry. Will definitely use Andrea again and can highly recommend.”

Valentina was brilliant with Bonnie! Bonnie is a very nervous dog, and Valentina made such an effort to help her feel comfortable by meeting us for a walk beforehand and inviting us over for a quick visit before her stay so Bonnie could get used to the house. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout, which was so reassuring, and it was lovely to see how quickly Bonnie settled in. We’d definitely book with Valentina again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

Antonia was brilliant with Loki, she looked after her for the first time during our house move, when I dropped Loki off she was very unsettled, Antonia very quickly calmed her down - when I picked Loki up the next day it was plain to see they are now firm friends! Will definitely use Antonia again and would throughly recommend!

Lin has had Mabel before but Saturday was the first time that she had stayed overnight, Mabel has separation anxiety but she slept all night, which is amazing. Lin kept in touch & also administered Mabel’s medication in the morning. I was really relieved that Mabel had settled. Lin is very calm and comforting for Mabel, I was really pleased & will definitely ask Lin to have Mabel again

What a gorgeous family - we couldn't have asked for more for our Bella who was looked after like she was one of the family. Bella had a fab time going on lovely walks, swimming in the sea and having lots of snuggles - I would definitely recommend Ausra. How lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter for our Bells!

This was the first time I used Robins services for doggy day care and I can honestly say I didn’t worry at all when my boy was with her. Robin is very friendly and communicative, she even sent me a photo of my boy with her gorgeous dog. I’d definitely return to Robin again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
