“Brilliant. Santi had a lovely holiday and got on famously with alexis' dog hiccup.. Alexis was very considerate, great with communication, sending regular updates. Its so comforting to know he was happy and well looked after while we were away. Highly recommended.”

“Valentina is awesome!! She was very flexible when we had a change the arrangement and came to stay at our house. Juno loved her being her and she was extremely well looked after. Valentina sent messages and pictures while we were away. I would highly recommend!”

“Excellent communicator. My pup on her return seemed em very happy and chilled out. She was clearly well looked after and we received regular updates. Would deffo recommend”

“Lin was very flexible, allowing me to pick Mabel up very late in the evening, after Mabel struggled to settle as well as she had done during the day time visits . Mabel was excited when getting to Lin’s house, such a positive sign when you have a dog with separation anxiety.”

“Inesa is a great dog sitter. She’s got a lovely dog herself who is friendly. She’s takes great care of my dogs, checks in, sends pics and they love going to her house. Highly recommended.”

“Sarah has been excellent and our whippet, Rocco, has had a fantastic stay with her for the week. I actually think he’s a bit sad he’s had to come Home! Her communication was just right - daily updates, but not too much, and we felt completely assured that Rocco was being brilliantly looked after. We would 110% love to book with Sarah again.”

About: Friends and family have relied on me for years, love being outdoors or chilling indoors with whatever my furry friends need♥️ Sleepovers and cuddles are the best and honestly looking to mix things up in my own life and meet new people along the way! I’m currently in a transitional period of my life and working part time in a cafe, I’m pretty flexible and love to mix things up. I also drive and I’m happy for furry friends in my car and don’t mind mud and fur of course! I like super specific instructions clearly given in advance so I know exactly the sort of experience your pet and yourself needs! Lots and lots of love and movement if that’s what’s required, it’s no problem!
“Amazing overnight stay for my boy Jet with Leanne and Abbie. Right from the off-set, Leanne and Abbie really took the time to understand the needs of my Frenchie Jet, and made his stay comfortable, enjoyable and provided me with the confidence I was looking for in leaving him. Would definitely book again (I have already), and would highly recommend Leanne and Abbie. Thank you from me and Jet”

“We got in touch with Jo when our dog care fell through last minute. She was super responsive and happy to look after our two dogs, Bobbie, and our old girl Mabel. Our dogs had a lovely stay and seemed to love being with Jo’s own three doggies. Jo was really quick to respond, sent lots of proactive updates to us with pics and is generally lovely. She even accommodated an extra night after our travel plans changed. Huge thank you to Jo ❤️”

“Sarah made me feel so comfortable leaving my baby with her, she kept me updated and kept him hydrated through the heat, took him to the beach, loads of walks and cuddles, she also sent so many pictures and I would 100% recommend her and she will definitely be my regular dog sitter now so definitely book her but leave some space for me hehe. ❤️❤️❤️”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“I would happily use Gemma again to look after my dog, Honey. Gemma is very friendly and kept me updated regularly with messages, videos and photos whilst looking after Honey. Gemma was also very thoughtful and brought treats with her for Honey to have. Honey was very at ease and relaxed after Gemma had been caring for her.”

“We cannot recommend Hannah enough, she is brilliant. Obviously a massive dog lover and very professional. She had our puppy for a week and when we picked her up she was happy and content. Hannah is quick to respond to any questions and was happy to show us where are dog would be staying. I can’t recommend her enough and I am certain we will be using her again soon. Thanks Hannah you made the very stressful process of leaving our loved dog a lot easier. Kev & Claire xx”

“Fabulous sitter for our medium sized rescue dog Scrumpy. He's got a few quirks but Isobel didn't seem fazed by them! She was also super flexible for us with the drop off and collection. Would definitely recommend 😊”

Amber enjoyed a short holiday break with Alexis D, and she settled in beautifully. She had plenty of opportunity to explore and loved her walks along the estuary, which is just a short distance from the house. We also received some lovely photos of Amber during her stay, which meant a lot to my daughter and helped her feel connected while Amber was away. Thank you both❤️
Tamsin took a last-minute booking without any fuss and was so kind throughout. She managed Pablo’s specialised care needs capably, and Mila was well looked after and clearly happy. Warm, reliable, and knows what she’s doing! Highly recommend! Thank you so much Tamsin! 🤗

Inesa was fantastic! She boarded our cockapoo, Koki, for 3 nights and Koki had a lovely time. She came back home relaxed and happy, and clearly enjoyed her time with Inesa. Inesa sent regular updates, and we were very comfortable that Koki was being well looked after. We’ll very happily use Inesa again in the near future.

Valentina was brilliant with Bonnie! Bonnie is a very nervous dog, and Valentina made such an effort to help her feel comfortable by meeting us for a walk beforehand and inviting us over for a quick visit before her stay so Bonnie could get used to the house. She kept us updated with messages and photos throughout, which was so reassuring, and it was lovely to see how quickly Bonnie settled in. We’d definitely book with Valentina again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

Antonia was brilliant with Loki, she looked after her for the first time during our house move, when I dropped Loki off she was very unsettled, Antonia very quickly calmed her down - when I picked Loki up the next day it was plain to see they are now firm friends! Will definitely use Antonia again and would throughly recommend!

Lin has had Mabel before but Saturday was the first time that she had stayed overnight, Mabel has separation anxiety but she slept all night, which is amazing. Lin kept in touch & also administered Mabel’s medication in the morning. I was really relieved that Mabel had settled. Lin is very calm and comforting for Mabel, I was really pleased & will definitely ask Lin to have Mabel again

What a gorgeous family - we couldn't have asked for more for our Bella who was looked after like she was one of the family. Bella had a fab time going on lovely walks, swimming in the sea and having lots of snuggles - I would definitely recommend Ausra. How lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter for our Bells!

This was the first time I used Robins services for doggy day care and I can honestly say I didn’t worry at all when my boy was with her. Robin is very friendly and communicative, she even sent me a photo of my boy with her gorgeous dog. I’d definitely return to Robin again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
