Sarah has been excellent and our whippet, Rocco, has had a fantastic stay with her for the week. I actually think he’s a bit sad he’s had to come Home! Her communication was just right - daily updates, but not too much, and we felt completely assured that Rocco was being brilliantly looked after. We would 110% love to book with Sarah again.

I would happily use Gemma again to look after my dog, Honey. Gemma is very friendly and kept me updated regularly with messages, videos and photos whilst looking after Honey. Gemma was also very thoughtful and brought treats with her for Honey to have. Honey was very at ease and relaxed after Gemma had been caring for her.

Amazing overnight stay for my boy Jet with Leanne and Abbie. Right from the off-set, Leanne and Abbie really took the time to understand the needs of my Frenchie Jet, and made his stay comfortable, enjoyable and provided me with the confidence I was looking for in leaving him. Would definitely book again (I have already), and would highly recommend Leanne and Abbie. Thank you from me and Jet

Sara and Frans stepped in at the last minute and were so friendly and lovely to my dog, I knew very quickly he’d be safe with them. I got lots of updates during his stay with them, and he came back to me very happy. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other pet owners. Thank you so much again Sara and Frans and hope to re book you soon!

I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.

Our dogs had a great holiday with Daphne. She's very flexible and reliable. We felt very assured that they were well looked after, even during a very hot week. Daphne gave regular updates, about twice day, with photos. It's lovely to know that the dogs are doing well. We'll definitely book with Daphne again.

Bertie was VERY happy to see Caroline again and she took great care of him, taking him on long walks and giving him lots of snuggles. He ate all of his food, which he doesn’t usually do when he’s with a sitter as he’s quite anxious, so it shows he’s very comfortable with her, which is great. It’s so reassuring to know he’s so well looked after when he’s with her. Thank you, Caroline

We got in touch with Jo when our dog care fell through last minute. She was super responsive and happy to look after our two dogs, Bobbie, and our old girl Mabel. Our dogs had a lovely stay and seemed to love being with Jo’s own three doggies. Jo was really quick to respond, sent lots of proactive updates to us with pics and is generally lovely. She even accommodated an extra night after our travel plans changed. Huge thank you to Jo ❤️

Alex took Queenie overnight, for her first time away from home. I didn't consider leaving her with anyone else, and had no reservations, as I have seen Alex's skill, positivity, and trustworthyness in recent weeks, from the dog walks he has taken Queenie on. He gave Queenie her own little pod to rest in, sent lovely videos and photos of her playing with the pack, and she had a fine time! Thanks again, Alex

Roland was recommended to me as someone with experience with mini schnauzers, and he was available for a last-minute stay. We had a meet-and-greet beforehand where Mungo and I met his gorgeous greyhound Laurie. Roland is friendly, calm and clearly adores dogs. He communicated regularly throughout Mungo’s stay and sent me plenty of pics. I was super happy with him and will definitely use him again. Thanks!

We truly couldn't have asked for a better sitter for Zero! Brunna was incredible with our fur baby - she sent us daily pictures and updates, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away on a family trip. On top of being so great with dogs, she's just a wonderful, lovely person. We would highly recommend her to anyone and genuinely hope to see her again soon! Thank you for everything! Lola had a great time with Amanda. Amanda was a great sitter, gave us updates on how Lola was getting on and made sure she was happy and comfortable. I especially loved Amanda's attention to catering to different breeds and knowing what works for Lola - such as completing different enrichment activities to keep her happy and stimulated as well as walks. Would recommend Amanda 100%.

Enzo loved spending time with Juna and her daughter. He immediately took to the flat and Juna, and he was clearly very sad to leave, as he kept pulling hard to go back to the flat. I felt terrible dragging him away. Juna was very also flexible in taking Enzo in very early in the morning.

Where to start! Daphne had our young cocker spaniel for just over a week for her first ever time away from home, and it couldn't have gone better. Rosie had an amazing time, Daphne kept us up to date with messages and photos of the various activities she did with Rosie, and the icing on the cake was the little birthday celebration she had for Rosie as she turned one whilst we were away! If you are looking for someone to look after your dog I couldn't recommend Daphne more! It's so clear that Daphne adores the dogs she looks after, and I think Rosie was a little sad to leave! Will definitely be using Daphne again in the future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Hove on Rover is £36.8 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,177 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Hove. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
