“Liudmyla, Andrii and family are simply the best. Our Cookie adores them so much and is always so excited to be with them. Liudmyla Kindly sends pupdates with photos and we always feel at ease that Cookie is having the best time. Can’t wait to see you again! ❤️🌷”

“Daphne was a fantastic pet sitter for Bluey. She had him over night whilst we went out to a festival in town. She took him for a walk each day and looked after his every need. Bluey was sad to go in the end when we picked him up. We would not hesitate to leave Bluey with Daphne again anytime he was super looked after. Thank you. Wayne, Dee and Bluey”

“Lenny staying was my first time using Rover and Sarah really put me at my ease. She was brilliant with her contact prior to Lenny coming to stay and was prompt with replies. I had absolutely no worries about him staying with Sarah, her family and Buzz. Sarah sent lots of pictures and kept me up to date on how Lenny was getting on. He looked like he had a fab time and was exhausted when he came home! I would have absolutely no qualms having Sarah look after Lenny again and would definitely recommend her”

“Leanne and Abbie were absolutely brilliant with Rafi, he is a nervous boy until you get to know him and they were caring and patient with him and sent lots of updates and pictures, he settled right in and had a great time. Thank you both so much!”

“Hannah was great! Plenty of updates for an overnight/ following day sit. Took great care of Lulu came back to a very happy dog. Hannah and Ryan both are very obviously great dog lovers and have a lovely home and Lulu was very happy with them. Will definitely be booking with them again!”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“I can’t recommend Valentina highly enough. She kindly accommodated a very last-minute request after another boarder cancelled, which already meant a lot. From the start, it was clear that she has a huge understanding of dogs and is incredibly caring and patient. My dog Kiki can be quite anxious, but Valentina was so accommodating and attentive to her needs. She kept me updated with plenty of messages and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. Most importantly, Kiki was completely at ease during her stay and came back home relaxed and happy. Thank you, Valentina, for taking such wonderful care of Kiki — I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“Lois was amazing, really communicative and friendly! She was so pleased to see Tinto and he was so happy and well looked after when we picked him up! Amazing dog sitter and Tinto is excited for his next stay with her.”

“It was a last minute booking with Suzana but as soon as I met her, I knew Connie would be well cared for in a lovely home. Thank you for the regular photo updates and we will definitely be in touch when we visit Brighton again.”

“Petra and Olly are absolutely amazing. I always get nervous about leaving Lyla with new people, but they put me at ease straight away. They’re incredibly caring and kept me fully informed with great updates throughout. Lyla was so happy after her stay, which says everything. They took her out for lots of walks and were genuinely thoughtful and considerate the whole time. I couldn’t recommend them enough and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much, guys.”

“I was so anxious about being away from Rocco for 1 week as that’s the longest I’ve left him for, but Roxy and Matt were wonderful. Got regular updates and pictures really helped me enjoy my holiday more. Rocco has come home very happy and content. Thank you both so much and will 100% be booking with you again. 🐾”

“Bertie was VERY happy to see Caroline again and she took great care of him, taking him on long walks and giving him lots of snuggles. He ate all of his food, which he doesn’t usually do when he’s with a sitter as he’s quite anxious, so it shows he’s very comfortable with her, which is great. It’s so reassuring to know he’s so well looked after when he’s with her. Thank you, Caroline”

“Joely is wonderful, she stayed up with doggo whilst she settled on the first night. She sent photo updates of doggo having a blast and snuggles in silly ways. Doggo is chilled where she has obviously come back from her own relaxing holiday. Can't recommend Joely enough! Thank you Joely, you're a wonderful and caring human. Thank you for sharing your home with our fluffy family member.”

“Sara and Frans stepped in at the last minute and were so friendly and lovely to my dog, I knew very quickly he’d be safe with them. I got lots of updates during his stay with them, and he came back to me very happy. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other pet owners. Thank you so much again Sara and Frans and hope to re book you soon!”

“Garry and Seb have been fantastic. Taurus really enjoyed her time there. Garry has been very responsive and sent tons of photos and videos. There were regular long walks, playing at home, or snuggling together on the sofa. Our dogs love to spend time with their dog Dixie. Garry is very accommodating when I had changes with late notice. Thank you both very much!”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since childhood and have spent many years helping care for dogs belonging to friends and family. Over the last 10+ years I’ve regularly helped with walking, feeding, company and general care, and I genuinely love being around animals. I work from home part of the week, which means I can offer dogs plenty of attention, companionship and regular walks throughout the day. I understand how important trust and reliability are when leaving your pet with someone, and I always aim to provide a calm, caring and safe environment where dogs feel comfortable and well looked after. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine closely and can provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind while you’re away. I work a hybrid schedule, spending 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home each week. My work-from-home days are flexible rather than fixed, which allows me to be accommodating where possible. I work Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, and can also offer some evening and weekend availability with advance notice. While I don’t have a garden, I live in a spacious and comfortable flat in Hove, just a 5-minute walk from Hove Lawns and the beach. This means your pet will still enjoy plenty of fresh air, exercise and lovely walks in a relaxed seaside setting. “Jenna looked after Birdy over a long weekend while I did a 4 day course. Birdy has stayed with her before and it was like taking her to her favourite Aunty. She was overjoyed to see Jenna and only half wanted to leave. Such a calm fun and responsible dog sitter. It’s sometimes a difficult choice to leave a 6 month old puppy but I trust Jenna with her welfare and I know she takes her visiting so lots of playtime and enrichment too. The perfect balance !”

Beckie was absolutely wonderful! She looked after Lily for over two weeks and we felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. We received lovely updates and the sweetest photos every day, which we really appreciated. Lily clearly had such a great time and seemed so happy and comfortable staying with Beckie. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again!

This was the first time we’ve left our dog and Alex couldn’t have been more reassuring, he always kept us updated with lots of videos, photos and text messages. We were instantly impressed by how great he was. Would highly recommend and huge thanks to Alex, it’s obvious how much he loves dogs and treated our one just as his own.

We had a warm welcome from Leanne and Abbie, who fell in love with Ted straight away. We were confident on leaving Ted that he would be well cared for . They have a lot of experience looking after dogs and have been dog owners themselves which really put our minds at ease. Wish we lived nearer to Leanne and Abbie as they would be our first choice for Ted care. Thank you both so much . Jenny 😊 Richard 🤓 and Ted 🐶 🙏🏻

Nunzia is amazing! She took care of our dog Luna while we were away on holiday. After we initially made the booking Luna had to have some unexpected extra dental surgery done and Nunzia took great care of her during her recovery including taking her back for post op checks. She was the best person who could possibly have looked after her. Luna will miss her a lot ❤️

Andrea was amazing with Josie, she clearly knows a lot about dogs and how to care for them, but she was also really interested in Josie’s routine and our preferences. She asked all the right questions and made sure she had all the information she needed to make Josie’s stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Josie clearly had a great time, and we’re very happy to bring her back to Andrea again!

We got in touch with Jo when our dog care fell through last minute. She was super responsive and happy to look after our two dogs, Bobbie, and our old girl Mabel. Our dogs had a lovely stay and seemed to love being with Jo’s own three doggies. Jo was really quick to respond, sent lots of proactive updates to us with pics and is generally lovely. She even accommodated an extra night after our travel plans changed. Huge thank you to Jo ❤️

Highly recommend Harriet. She was able to help us out at the last minute and had Baxter for an overnight visit. Communication was great and we received regular updates and photos until Baxter was asleep. He seemed very happy the next morning to the point where he tried to lead me back to Harriet’s door when we left!

Bambi had the loveliest time with Luke! He was gentle and sensitive to her shy, anxious nature, and we could see that she was very comfortable with him quickly. He sent us loads of updates through the day (which we always LOVE!) and sent a full update at the end of the day sharing everything they did & how she's doing. This really helped set our minds at ease & we loved to see that she's enjoying herself! Will definitely work with Luke again! 🙌🐾❤️

Nicola was wonderful with Leia. She was incredibly kind and agreed to help me out at very short notice, even though she’d only just got back from holiday that day. She kept me updated during Leia’s stay, and it was obvious from the photos and when I collected her that Leia had been very happy and well looked after. I’d happily leave Leia with Nicola again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.

Andra was so wonderful with our huge, neurotic weimaraner (Goose) - she took excellent care of him and managed to get him to settle, no small feat! We travelled down to Brighton from Manchester and there were some delays along the way - Andra was so flexible and accommodating, and just took all of the stress out of the day. All throughout the stay Andra sent us photos and videos of what they were up to, including some amazing beach walks. We cannot thank you enough Andra!

Gonzo had a great time with Iona and Swan. I was pretty nervous leaving him for the night as he has issues with his back, but I need't have worried, as he was looked after well and got his medication without fuss. He settled nicely and was even a little grumpy when I woke him from a nap to take him home! Thanks again :)

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
