“It’s the 2nd time using Kiki to look after our Sprocker pup and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Her. Coco is excited every time she sees Kiki and it’s clear that they’ve built a bond.”

“We had such an amazing experience booking Steven as our pet sitter for our 2 cars whilst we were away and we are already looking to try a book him again as we have had such positive experience. I definitely recommend him to anyone looking for pet sitter/carer.”

“Jordan was a great sitter for our boxer Woody. He is really great at communicating and was ready to meet us before the sit without any problems at all. He sent several photos of our dog during the stay bc and kept us up to date on a daily basis without us asking for it. We would really recomend Jordan for anyone who wants a friendly and reliable dog sitter.”

“Jade has been a great help during a busy period looking after our dog Sweep. We found her to be punctual, friendly and reliable. Sweep felt at ease with Jade from the off so it has been wonderful piece of mind. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jade, and we hope to continue working with her moving forward.”

“Ellen took great care of Bailey and was also kind enough to stay longer than scheduled as I experienced delays in returning home- due to travel disruption. I can’t thank her enough and I’ll be booking her again.”

“Neve was amazing. I was so nervous leaving Scar for the first time as he is a very needy and playful cat who needs a lot of attention. Neve updated me regularly with lovely photos and messages about their day. Neve was originally booked in from 8:30 am but very kindly came at 6:30am as I was leaving for my trip early. I didn’t ask Neve to do this but I feel she knew how nervous I was and she came before I left for my trip which made me feel a whole lot better that scar had her there. She went above and beyond for scar and when I came back from my trip Scar was very happy and content. I can’t thank Neve enough.”

“Setting up a house-sitting session with Beth was a breeze. She sent plenty of updates and both of our pets took to her immediately. Thanks, Beth. We’ll be calling on you again, I’m sure.”

“We recently booked Viktoriia to look after our Luna! She is definitely a genuine animal lover, very prepared and also confident. Luna enjoyed staying with her straight away, which says everything.”

“Balbina sat with our dog for the day while we were out. She is knowledgeable about dogs and dog behaviour as well as confident in handling them. Balbina stayed in contact through the day, she communicates well. We would happily book her again to sit our dog Banjo”

“I couldn’t be happier with Leah and our 3 dogs loved her. She is communicative, friendly and reliable. The house was left immaculate and she coped calmly when one of the dogs was unwell. I will definitely ask her to come back.”

“Amelia has been an absolute God Send. I was so worried about leaving Biggie with Chess having suddenly passed away and she has gone above and beyond to make him happy and comfortable and check with me to make sure what she’s doing is correct. Perfectly happy to leave her alone in my house and give her a key. Great communication. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better!!! ☺️”

About: I’ve always lived with cats since I was a kid. I was on trusted Housesitters for a couple of years and looked after many dogs and cats. I frequently look after my friends dogs and cats when they go on holiday. I work from home so can work from pet owners homes. I have quite a bit of flexibility in my working day so can take dogs out for walks in the morning, lunch time or evening. I can accommodate your pets in your home in what ever way they need whether that be taking them for walks or letting them out into the garden.
“Evie took perfect care of our home and Labrador Peggy while we were away for a week. It's always a little daunting to leave the things you care most about in someone else's hands but meeting Evie was reassuring. While we were away she sent us updates and photos so we could see how relaxed and happy Peggy was with her. We were able to enjoy our holiday knowing our home and Peggy were well taken care of. We would absolutely use Evie as a dog sitter again and would recommend her to others.”

“Jennifer looked after our Tibetan Terrier Tara for two days, and we (that includes Tara-the-dog) would recommend her! Jennifer is friendly, reliable and flexible. She came by beforehand to meet us and to make sure she had all information she needed. She arrived punctually and communicated well, keeping us in the loop with small updates and photos. We felt at ease that Tara was well-looked-after and had a good time as well. Thank you Jennifer!”

“James is an amiable guy who cared beautifully for our Labrador Woody when we were out for the day. Woody seemed to love him! He responded promptly to messages and sent us photos, which we appreciated. We would definitely recommend him.”

“Can’t recommend Emily highly enough! She did a great job of looking after our dog, following care instructions, sending updates, and taking care of the flat. Came home after a long weekend away to a happy dog and tidy home. Thank you, Emily!”

Nadya was excellent with my puppy. She looked after here well. My puppy hasn’t had all her vaccines so I needed someone to puppy sit as it was my first day at a new job. Nadya was calm and gentle with Queenie. I came home to a happy pup who’d been fed and snuggled with when she needed it.

Gisela was absolutely wonderful with Pickle. She was incredibly attentive from the very start and even came to meet him before the booking, which instantly put us at ease. Pickle felt secure, happy, and clearly had the best time with her. She was also so respectful of our flat, leaving everything just as she found it. We would recommend Gisela to everyone, she’s truly fantastic.

Evie took perfect care of our home and Labrador Peggy while we were away for a week. My senior dog Daisy gets anxious being alone and so we booked Andra for the day we needed to go out. Andra provided lots of updates to reassure us that Daisy was happy and settled and we came back to a calm, chill dog. Thanks so much, would definitely recommend 😊

One of my dogs, Zippy, can be quite unsociable with new people. Although he had met Dan before, that was always with me present. So when Dan sent me a photo of Zippy sprawled across his knee, fast asleep, it told me everything I needed to know — my dogs were completely happy and relaxed. I felt 100% confident trusting Dan in my home to care for them. He was thoughtful with their walks too, prioritising calmness and sensibly avoiding other dogs while they all settled into each other’s routines. I would highly recommend Dan, and I’ll definitely be booking him again.

I cannot recommend Yvonne highly enough. We were able to enjoy our holiday knowing Ralph was in such good hands. Yvonne kept me updated throughout the week with messages and photos. He clearly had a wonderful week. Ralph was walked and the house was spotless when we got home which was massively appreciated after travelling. Thank you so much Yvonne for taking such great care of Ralph and our home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Laura looked after Sid and Reggie extremely well! We were really happy and felt very comfortable leaving them in the care of Laura. She took the time to understand their needs and provided us photo updates throughout her drop-ins. Sid and Reggie and normally very anxious around new people and so we were happy with how quickly they were comfortable around Laura. We would use Laura again anytime! 😊

Neve was amazing. I can’t thank Neve enough.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Hove walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
