“Francis came to our rescue after we had driven up from Plymouth to Brighton for Pride in the Park. We found we were not allowed to take our dog in the Park!! But, at very short notice Francis came to meet Chorkie and get acquainted. Within no time at all Chorkie was sitting on her lap giving her kisses. Chorkie has a skin irritation and Frances asked how we manage this and worked within our guidance while she was with him. Chorkie is also an old boy now (14) and the way Frances dealt with him so kindly and gently showed that she has cared for older dogs (she cared for her own dog until he was 17) Frances took Chorkie for 2 "sniff-led" walks - she has done a lot of research on the benefits of sniffing to a dogs welfare and mental health) We were sent several updates and lovely photos showing Chorkie happily sleeping in his bed, on his walks and eating his tea We would ABSOLUTELY use Frances again - she is a friendly, kind, gentle, knowledgeable sitter and we felt totally able to enjoy our event knowing Chorkie was so relaxed with her. I don't think we could have had a more perfect sitter for Chorkie and he agrees 😍”

“Thank you Leah for looking after Dudley for the first time - he was very relaxed when I got home 🐶❤️ Leah is a great sitter. Communicates really well prior to the sitting and kept me updated on her first day with Dudley with messages and photos. The house was spotless when I got back and wouldn’t even have known anyone had been here. Would highly recommend. Have booked a second sitting for Leah to stay overnight to look after Dudley. Thank you 🙏”

“Freya was very friendly and took time to come and meet Bailey and get to know him. Freya asked questions and really wanted to know all about my animals. He house was left lovely and tidy too.”

“Tasha is absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately we had to cancel our booking because our dog was taken ill hours before, but during our home visit Tasha was warm, friendly, had a great bond with our dog, and made us feel completely at ease. Would highly recommend!”

“Rebecca is reliable and very professional. She is very caring in her approach to animals and our dogs were very relaxed when she looked after them. I was able to attend a wedding without any worries about how the dogs would be, knowing that she would put their needs first. I would have no hesitation in asking her to look after Toby and Lola in the future.”

“Jade was brilliant - came to do a quick meet and greet with us and our dog which made us relax as naturally the first time can be a bit of a worry. Jade kept us informed, kept the house very tidy and was a pleasure to work with - we'll definitely use her again!”

“Lauren was an absolute star looking after our Staffie for a week from 1st January. She turned up on time, gave us regular updates and looked after our doggie and home with great care, even though she became very poorly herself during the stay. Others may have left us in the lurch but Lauren stayed, despite feeling ill, and we deeply appreciated that. We would have no hesitation in recommending Lauren to others, apart from wanting to keep her a secret so we can book her again!”

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover with a lifetime of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. 🐾 I’ve grown up surrounded by animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, hamsters, gerbils and fish, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I currently have two dogs of my own, Arlo and Lola, and I’ve also had the very special experience of having a dog who was my absolute best friend. Sadly, he passed away, but he taught me just how much love and happiness a dog can bring into your life. I also grew up with four cats who I absolutely adored. I’m experienced with all the day-to-day things that come with looking after animals, including walking, feeding, grooming, playing, giving them plenty of attention and making sure they feel safe, happy and comfortable. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and would treat your pets as if they were my own. Whether your pet wants a long walk and lots of playtime, some gentle grooming, or simply a cosy cuddle on the sofa, I’m very happy to oblige! 🥰 I especially adore a good snuggle and a bit of playtime. **A fun fact about me:** every year for my dogs’ birthdays, they get a brand-new harness and collar set. This year Arlo chose a Woody from *Toy Story* set, while Lola has the cutest purple hearts and daisies! 💜🌼 I’d love the opportunity to get to know your pets, give them lots of love and attention, and make sure they have a wonderful time while you’re away. 🐶🐱🐰 I’m available for dog sitting most weekends, but I’m also happy to discuss weekday dates to suit everyone. My availability can change, so please ask! :) I’ll care for your pets exactly as I’d expect someone to care for my fluffies, with endless love, patience, kindness, respect and attention at all times.
“Hannah has just pet sit my two dogs and two cats while we were away. I could tell the dogs loved her the first time they met her and they seemed perfectly happy with her while we were gone. Hannah gave regular updates while we were gone and I felt 100% reassured that the pets were being looked after exactly how I would have done it. I felt bad that I didn’t check in more often but that’s because Hannah made me feel so comfortable that everything was totally fine at home. When we came back, the house was lovely and tidy and the bedsheets and towels had all been washed ready for us. I would 100% recommend Hannah to anyone.”

“Absolutely brilliant! Archie loved Laura and felt so comfortable with her he went straight to sleep - high praise! Friendly, excellent communication, and really lovely! Would highly recommend!”

About: I’ve always had a strong love for dogs, and throughout my 31 years, I’ve always had at least one dog in my life! I have experience with a variety of breeds and have built meaningful bonds with all the dogs I’ve had the pleasure of looking after over the years. I’m a caring, responsible and patient person who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs. I understand that every dog is different, with their own personality, routines and needs, and I’m always happy to take the time to make them feel comfortable and settled. I work Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm, so pet care fits well around my daily routine. I’m available before and after work, as well as throughout the evenings and at weekends. I genuinely enjoy dog walking and love exploring different places and finding nice walks to enjoy with the dogs I look after. I’m happy to adapt walks to suit each dog, whether they enjoy a long walk, a gentle stroll or plenty of time to stop and sniff! As I have two dogs of my own at home, pet sitting in your home means I can give your dog my full attention without bringing them into an unfamiliar environment or disrupting their routine. My aim is for you to be able to go away knowing your dog is happy, settled and being well looked after in their own home.

About: I have 4 years of experience as a dog sitter and a lifelong love and understanding of dogs, having lived with them since childhood. I am confident in caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, temperaments, and routines, and I always make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. I treat every dog as if they were my own, giving them plenty of attention, affection, walks and reassurance. I am also confident in supporting senior dogs, including those who may need a slower pace, extra patience, gentle handling, medication reminders or additional comfort. I understand the importance of following each owner’s instructions carefully, maintaining routines and creating a peaceful home environment where dogs can relax and feel secure. I don't have any rules for the bed or furniture, so the entire home is for them to use and feel comfortable. I love for the dogs to socialise and meet new friends. I don't have our own dog, so I board one or two dogs at a time(if they are good match) , so they can have all the attention. The home is completely pet-friendly. I live close to a park and I walk pets 2-3 times a day,(unless there are special requirements). I'm truly excited to meet your best friend, feel free to reach out to me anytime. Requested information about your pet Please let me know any likes and dislikes, special needs or anything I should be aware of during the stay. I will be more than happy to accommodate special requests to make sure your doggie has a good time and is taken care This are the list of information I need from your dog ahead of the sitting: - Toilet breaks time - Walking routine - Food routine - Energy level - Any special requests/needs/preferences

About: Hi, I am a mature student looking for pet-sitting jobs. I work in healthcare and have a DBS certificate. I had three rabbits called Theadora, Claude, and Justinian. Thea lived to 12 years old, which is a good age for a rabbit. I had a border terrier called Ruby. I also had a cat at university that was imaginatively called Cat. I look after my neighbour's cats while they are away, and I also had my friend's Chocolate Labrador called Oscar live with me for several weeks while they had housing difficulties. I love walking outdoors and spending time with pets. I am currently working part-time on a Friday. I am starting university in September, and I will be required to attend class every other Wednesday; apart from that, I am a free agent. I have a fenced garden with a very high wooden fence. I own my house, and I live alone. At the moment, I have no pets. My 11-year-old daughter stays with me at weekends.

Since I can work from anywhere, I’m able to stay in your home making sure your pets feel safe, settled and never alone for long. Being at home means I’m always close by for attention, cuddles, or just a reassuring presence. When caring for pets in their own home, I always aim to keep things as familiar and stress-free as possible. “I would thoroughly recommend Alice for house sitting your pets. Alice came to the house prior to us going on holiday to meet the dogs. I received photos whilst we were away and updates twice a day which was very reassuring and I would not hesitate to book Alice if she wanted to look after the dogs again”

Rebecca is a trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable and caring sitter. Rebecca looked after my 3 kittens professionally and with care and kindness, I cannot fault Rebecca as a cat sitter, will definitely use again. My home was spotless when I got home. The kittens were so well cared for and had lots of cuddles. Thank you so much Becky

We are so pleased to have found Laura! She came to look after our very elderly Boston Terrier, Spartacus, whilst we went away for a wedding last weekend. Spartacus took to her straight away and we knew he was in very safe hands. Laura also kept our house beautifully. Excellent communication throughout. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Laura look after him again. Thank you so much!

Natasha looked after our Boxer Willow for 7 days in June. Willow is a loving friendly dog who loves interaction with people but she can be a bit demanding! However, Natasha's calming influence soon won over and we had regular reassuring updates that Willow was relaxed and enjoying being looked after with friendly care. Our house was treated with utmost respect, and we returned to find a very contented Boxer dog. It would be a pleasure to ask Natasha to care for her on future occasions. Highly recommended. Maurice and Jacquie

Considering 1st time using this app I am very impressed with monika and the care she gave my molly whilst I was abroad. I had daily updates with photos and I can honestly say knowing she was there to help made my worries go away. So so happy and will definitely use Monika again.

Tasha has looked after Atlas a few times now and every time she has been amazing! She keeps me updated throughout the day with updates and pictures and Atlas absolutely loves her! He is always without fail so tired when we get back so I know he’s been getting lots of walks! Will 100% continue booking with Tasha to look after Atlas again in the future :)

We just had Lilli stay at our house while we were away on honeymoon for 11 days. She is absolutely fantastic! Our Staffie absolutely adores her and he was really well looked after, as was the house. In fact I think the house was cleaner when we got back than when we left it! I cannot recommend Lilli highly enough, although part of me wants to keep her a secret so she doesn’t get too booked up…

Grace was a wonderful cat sitter for our two kitties, who obviously bonded very well, as Grace sent us photos and a video of them all enjoying playtime together. Grace cared for the cats beautifully and our house was left spotless! I would have no hesitation in recommending Grace as a cat-sitter, she is a lovely, kind girl who kept us well updated. A 5-star sitter! Brilliant!

Jade was brilliant - came to do a quick meet and greet with us and our dog which made us relax as naturally the first time can be a bit of a worry. Jade kept us informed, kept the house very tidy and was a pleasure to work with - we'll definitely use her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Eastbourne walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eastbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
