“It was an absolute dream to leave our two big boys with Jordan and Sophie! We’d love them to be our go-tos even though we aren’t super local. Their house is beautifully set up for happy dogs and their pup Bandit was an ideal playmate. Such lovely people and our dogs were so well looked after.”

“Jools and Bella were really friendly and accomodating. Our dog had a great time and was clearly very happy with them. We really appreciated the updates and wouldn't hesitate to use them again :)”

About: I’ve owned a dog for 12 years which sadly has passed away recently, i love having dogs around, i mainly work from home so it’s very easy to keep an eye on them and let them outside when needed, and i always like to go on walks and provide treats. I work from home 4 days a week and I can take your dog for a walk on my lunch break and when I finish work with no issues and I am rather flexible and I do drive. I have a fenced and secure garden which they will always be able to access so they can roam freely inside the house and in the garden.
“Charlotte was wonderful with Blossom. Communication was great and I received updates throughout her stay. I really felt like she was in great hands and wouldnt hesitate to book Charlotte again.”

“Rosie was eager to go into the house and happy to stay with Gillian. She was well looked after and we would be more than happy for her to go back for future stays .”

“Hannah went above and beyond for our boy Kenji. We had a great experience with this dog boarder! He was well cared for, and we got regular updates that gave us peace of mind. When I picked him up, he was happy and relaxed. Highly recommend and will definitely use again!”

“Monika looked after our 3 year old cockapoo Hazel for 4 days and we couldn't have asked for more. This is the second time Monika has looked after Hazel. I got photos of the lovely walks they took. I feel so lucky to have found someone so caring and loving towards Hazel that I can confidently and happily leave her with. Thank you Monika you are awesome!”

“Maureen is very friendly and quick to communicate. I felt very good about leaving our dog Joshy in her care. She updated how they were doing during the weekend. Joshy seemed very happy and himself when we went to pick him up.”

“Abigail was amazing, from a first meet feeling very welcome and allowing our dog to get familiar ahead of his stay, to all the updates during the stay and the service of pick up and drop off. Felt totally comfortable and reassured throughout and would recommend Abi to anyone!!”

“Paul was great with Freddie and we are already booking more dates with him. He kept us updated with Freddie’s stay with pics and messages and always communicated well. Paul met Freddie in advance and we were more than happy for him to look after our Border Terrier.”

About: I’ve looked after various dogs over the years and where I work from home I’m very flexible and adaptable, spending time with animals brings me alot of happiness 😀 I work full time and only go into the office one day a week so very flexible I usually go for works either before or after work I have a very spacious flat and always make sure there’s nothing out that can harm any animals and always make sure there’s food and water available

“Tilly had a wonderful stay! Freya sent happy photos and updates every day. I felt so relaxed knowing Tilly was in great hands. She came home tired, clean, and very happy. Will definitely book with Freya again!”

It was an absolute dream to leave our two big boys with Jordan and Sophie! We’d love them to be our go-tos even though we aren’t super local. Their house is beautifully set up for happy dogs and their pup Bandit was an ideal playmate. Such lovely people and our dogs were so well looked after.

Georgia was so great with our Wentworth, he can be a little be of a handful as he’s such a playful pup, but she did so great earning his trust and giving him the attention he needs! She has fantastic communication and does a great job of sending updates to make us feel more comfortable! Would recommend Georgia to anyone!

Olesia looked after our two girls for one week, they enjoyed her company and their little vacation and were well cared for and happy, Olesia kept us informed with daily messages and photos of their fun walks on and around the beach. These are nice & re-assuring when you leave pets in care. A recommended sitter, thanks Olesia.

Abi looked after our dogs, Luna and Benny, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care they received. From the moment we met Abi, it was clear how kind, reliable, and genuinely passionate she is about animals. She kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. Luna and Benny were both so happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we returned. It was obvious they had been treated with love, patience, and plenty of attention. We would highly recommend Abi to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and professional dog sitter. Thank you, Abi—we’ll definitely be booking with you again! Chris and Jo

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! It gave us real peace of mind knowing our dog was being so well looked after. He was happy, relaxed, and clearly received lots of love and attention. Communication was great throughout, and we really appreciated the care and kindness shown to him. We would happily book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

Ok… in short.. Charlotte was superb! Dogs were well cared for, walked regularly, fed and watered .. and all of this during the extremely intense heat, which we’ve just endured. I received daily ‘pup dates’ on them, including photos. Clearly, they have had an amazing time.. and Charlotte is 100% recommended!

As always it was a pleasure to leave Teddy with Mitch and Lauren, knowing that Teddy will be loved and well cared for, with lots of cuddles. He loves playing with their dog too and curls up asleep with her. I have no worries when I leave Teddy with them and they send me lots of updates, photos and videos. Such a lovely caring and attentive couple.

Thank you!! Left our 8 month puppy in Nelsymar’s care and knew she was in good hands. She gave us many updates and reassurances. Our puppy Fern was disappointed to get in the car afterwards so we knew she had a good time 🤣 Thank you so much- would leave in your care again 😌

Cecile is an amazing dogsitter. Milo was looked after brilliantly. Cecile has a very calming way which contributed to how Milo behaved in her Company. Cecile puts 100 per cent into her role as a dog sitter. I would highly recommend Cecile. I can now relax knowing Milo will have somewhere to go when I go away again. Thank you Cecile for a brilliant job ☆☆☆☆☆

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
