I work from home, so pet care fits naturally into my day and your pet is rarely left alone. I plan my routine around feeding times, medication schedules, walks, play and calm rest. Dogs get structured walks and enrichment daily, adjusted to age, health and energy levels. Cats get consistent, low-stress care focused on routine, hygiene and quiet interaction on their terms.

Safety, trust & environment
My home is calm, clean, and set up with safety in mind. I have a secure, dog-proof fenced garden, and I live in a quiet neighbourhood with a park directly opposite for regular walks. I follow owner instructions precisely (food, meds, routines, house rules) and I’m trained in Dog First Aid, plus I’m a certified Feline Behaviourist, so I handle animals with an emphasis on body language and stress reduction. I’m confident administering medication, including injections when required. I also have a car adapted for travelling with dogs safely, for pick-ups, drop-offs, vet visits or planned outings if agreed.

Information Monika R. would like to know about your pet
Before the booking, I ask a few key questions so I can care properly and avoid surprises: feeding routine and any dietary rules, allergies, health conditions, medication details (dose, timing, method, where supplies are kept), vet contact and emergency plan, behaviour triggers and stress signals, dog reactivity to other dogs, people, children, wildlife and vehicles, cat confidence level (shy, territorial, multi-cat dynamics), litter preferences, sleeping arrangements, separation tolerance, and any home rules (off-limits rooms, furniture, lead rules). If your pet has anxiety, medical needs, or a history of fear or aggression, I’ll ask for extra detail so I can plan care safely and kindly.
A typical day
Dogs: Morning routine includes toilet break, breakfast, and a walk suited to the dog (sniff-led decompression for anxious dogs, steadier pace for seniors, more active time for high-energy dogs). Midday is calm company, short training games if appropriate, and another break. Afternoon includes another walk or enrichment (snuffle games, chew time, puzzle feeders), then dinner and a quiet evening wind-down. Cats: I keep visits calm and predictable: fresh food and water, litter hygiene, check-in on wellbeing, gentle play or grooming if the cat wants it, and respectful space if they prefer distance. I focus on reducing stress, not forcing interaction, and keeping routines consistent.

A ‘HOME-FROM-HOME’ FOR YOUR PET
Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Monika. I care for pets the way I’d want mine cared for: calmly, safely, and with real attention to the individual animal, not a one size fits all routine. I’m certified in Dog First Aid, Canine Nutrition, Dog Behaviour and Animal Welfare, and I’m also a certified Feline Behaviourist. That means I’m not guessing what your pet needs, I’m reading body language, stress signals and patterns, and adjusting care accordingly. I work with dogs and cats of all ages and temperaments, including seniors, nervous pets and those who need medication. I’m confident administering meds, including injections when required, and I take hygiene and feeding routines seriously. I’ve cared for animals all my life, from dogs of every type to small pets and exotics, so I’m comfortable adapting to different needs and handling styles. I work from home, which lets me provide consistent supervision, companionship and regular updates. For dogs staying with me, I have a secure garden and I’m happy to follow your usual walk routine and enrichment preferences. For cats, I focus on routine and low stress visits: food, fresh water, litter hygiene, gentle play if they want it, and respectful space if they don’t. My partner also helps, and together we run Nika Pet Food, so if you’d like, your dog can have our freshly prepared meals during their stay. Most importantly, you’ll get clear communication, photos, and the reassurance that your pet is being cared for by someone who knows what they’re doing and genuinely enjoys the job.

Reviews
Excellent service, thank you. The pick up and drop off worked exactly as planned and Monty returned happy and tired

Very caring sitter and Milly is always happy to see Monika, and have extra cuddle time!

Considering 1st time using this app I am very impressed with monika and the care she gave my molly whilst I was abroad. I had daily updates with photos and I can honestly say knowing she was there to help made my worries go away. So so happy and will definitely use Monika again.

This last two weeks while I have been away is Monika's second time looking after Frank & Molly . I had absolutely no worries after leaving them once before to travel , knowing Monika's care skills are 100% & that she is also great at keeping a regular schedule with not only walks but feeding & keeping as much to the dogs 'normal' lifestyle as possible . Frank & Molly clearly love spending time her , a strong bond is obvious betwen them (& her husband Simon) , we have built a good rapport over the last year which is so important . Also knowing that Monika is very knowledgeable about diet for them both as individuals , she owns & runs a small dog food business , Nika Pet Food , based near Eastbourne . I know the dogs are fed well on extremely high quality natural wet food . I cannot recommend her enough & thoroughly trust her with Frank & Molly ~ Miniature Dachshunds
