“Mila and Andrii were amazing hosts of our 13 year old labradoodle Coco for four days. We received daily photos and reports on her temporary medical condition with suggested actions and requests for confirmation of action to take. Coco had a wonderful time. They were faultlessly caring and deserve my five star rating!”

“Sarah was absolutely brilliant with our Cockapoo! She took him on some lovely walks alongside her own dog, and kept us updated with regular photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. We knew he was in great hands, happy, and well-cared for. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again!”

“Chris and Lene were amazing and we would not hesitate to recommend them. We met them and their dog Rio for a walk before the booking to check the dogs got on, which they did. Chris sent regular updates and photos while we were away which was great. Our dog Georgie was relaxed and looked after very well while with them, with nice walks and lots of treats. Chris and Lene were genuinely caring about Georgie, which is the most important thing! Their bungalow and garden were comfortable and perfect for our older dog. Thank you Chris and Lene!”

“Had to rebook, she is amazing and I will always book her when I need a dog sitter. So considerate and sends regular updates and pictures and Meelo LOVES her, she was amazing with him. 10/10 no complaints 🥰”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“Courtney was a very sensitive and thoughtful carer. Daisy had a lovely time and enjoyed lovely walks on the South Downs and plenty of snuggles. Will definitely use again if possible 😊”

“Emma was great and my dog, Pies, clearly enjoyed his stay with her and her husband. They have a nice big garden that Pies loved, and a big green space nearby for walks and plays with other dogs. I’d highly recommend!”

“Repeat stay for our active spaniel and once again, Cherry had a blast with Katty and a holiday of her own. Katty keeps her furry friends well engaged, entertained and cared for. We also get lots of updates so no need for us to worry about our pup. Thank you! Highly recommend A*”

About: Hi, I'm Santa! I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and have grown up with both dogs and cats. For the past two years I've been raising and training my own dog, Link, who has taught me so much about patience, consistency and understanding different dog personalities. I have experience working with dogs who need a little extra patience, including those who can become overexcited or easily distracted on walks. This has taught me to read canine body language, stay calm under pressure, and tailor my approach to each dog's individual needs. Before getting Link, I volunteered through BorrowMyDoggy, where I regularly walked a lovely Staffordshire Bull Terrier for around a year, as well as spending time with several other dogs. It gave me experience with different breeds, temperaments and energy levels while helping owners who needed an extra hand. Whether your dog loves long adventures, relaxed sniffy walks or simply wants company while you're away, I'll make sure they receive plenty of care, attention and affection. I'll always treat your dog as if they were my own and keep you updated with messages and photos, so you know they're happy and in safe hands. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged best friend! Caring for dogs is already part of my daily routine. I walk my own dog every day and make time for training, enrichment and play, so looking after other dogs fits naturally into my schedule. I work shifts, which means I often have flexibility on different days of the week, allowing me to offer walks, drop-in visits and pet sitting around my working hours. When I'm caring for your pet, they'll receive the same attention, patience and care that I give my own dog. If your dog stays in my home, they'll be welcomed into a calm, loving environment and treated like part of the family. I'll only accept dogs that I know are a good match for my home and my own dog, ensuring everyone's safety and wellbeing comes first. I have a big fenced garden and I live in a small and quiet village with beautiful and safe walks right on my doorstep. My cottage is small but the outside offers so much more. When im walking your dog, I'll always use the equipment you provide (unless we agree otherwise), keep dogs on lead where required, and avoid situations that may cause unnecessary stress. I'll make sure they have fresh water and plenty of exercise.

My house is very calm as well as it’s just me during the day, so your pet will have a stress free time. “Trevor is a typical terrier with a big attitude and strong opinions and as a result can be a bit tricky so I’m very careful about who I leave him with. Michelle followed my guidance to the letter, stuck to his routines and it sounds like they both had a wonderful time as a result. She provided daily updates dates with photos. I wouldn’t hesitate to book boarding for Trevor with Michelle again, she genuinely cares and wants to do the best for your dog.”

About: Hi! I'm an experienced dog owner with over 20 years of caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently share my home with my husband and our dogs Nugget, a friendly 3-year-old Chihuahua × Jack Russell cross, and Archer, my gentle 11-year-old Italian Greyhound. They're both used to having dog visitors, as I already dog sit. Your dog will be treated like part of the family here. They're welcome on the sofa for cuddles, have access to a fully enclosed, secure garden, and we'll enjoy lovely walks just a few minutes from the cliffs and the sea. I understand how important it is to know your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'm reliable, responsible, and I'll make sure your dog(s) gets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can relax knowing they're having a great time. I am currently between jobs and will have plenty of time to look after your dog(s), and give them their daily walks and cuddles I have a fenced of garden that they can always enter. There's grass and a nice lounge set that they are allowed to use :) I fully understand how stressful it can be to leave your dog(s) behind, and I can assure you I will follow all your instructions to keep them safe (as I expect the same thing from my own dogsitter)
“Our dog absolutely loves staying with Michaela and Simon, she drags me towards the front door every time she stays over and doesn’t even glance back! Such a lovely family who really care for the dogs their look after as though they’re their own. So reassuring to have a dog sitter you can trust.”

“Thank you Toni for looking after Mademoiselle La Flooph… very kind and generous with your communications and reassurances ( I can be a worry mum) and Birdy was calm happy and smiling when we collected her. I was really happy with the care and love you gave, the updates and understanding when we arrived home a little late. Until next time X”

“Fantastic stay for Tess with Valentina. Couldn't be happier with the service provided. Awesome videos of the great walks and fun times she had during her stay.. Would definitely use again. Many thanks.. Mike”

“Sophie really looked after Rolo. Sent me lots of updates and pictures whilst we were on holiday and really took care of him when he developed an upset stomach. Will definitely recommend Sophie and will rebook with Sophie again xx”

About: I have grown up with dogs and have taken care of them my whole life. My own dog, Willow, is a one year old lab cross and will love to play with your dogs. I work from home every day, I usually give the dogs two walks, one 10 mins one around the block and one longer walk (30-45min) in the downs above my house. The rest of the time, the door to the garden is always open and the garden is fenced and free of hazards. I am happy to fit around any feeding schedule or around any other walking scheduled required for your dog. I have a fully fenced garden, free of hazards. My own dog, Willow is a one year old lab cross and loves to play. She has a lot of energy so if your dog is elderly they will be in different rooms.

Jane and Reggie took great care of my dog who came back home happy and healthy. They looked after him during a heatwave and did an amazing job of keeping him comfy whilst still having local woodland walks and playtime. Provided lots pics too, and I would be v. happy to leave my dog in their care again. Would highly recommend. Many thanks

I highly recommend Abby! She takes care of my dog with incredible professionalism and attentiveness. From the very first meeting, she took the time to understand my dog’s habits, preferences, and needs, making sure every detail was handled perfectly. She sends daily photos and detailed updates, so I always know how my dog is doing, which gives me complete peace of mind. My dog is clearly very happy under her care, and it’s obvious that Abby has a genuine love and patience for animals. Whether it’s meals, activities, or emotional care, she handles everything with great attention and warmth. Meeting someone as professional, reliable, and caring as Abby has been such a blessing. I wholeheartedly recommend Abby—she will make both you and your furry friend extremely happy!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
