“Richard was very good with Jet , he seemed very caring and understanding and went over and above by sleeping downstairs with him as he was unsettled. We would definitely ask for his help in the future.”

“Excellent communicator. My pup on her return seemed em very happy and chilled out. She was clearly well looked after and we received regular updates. Would deffo recommend”

“Emma was great and my dog, Pies, clearly enjoyed his stay with her and her husband. They have a nice big garden that Pies loved, and a big green space nearby for walks and plays with other dogs. I’d highly recommend!”

“Chris and Lene just looked after Ritz for a week and he had an amazing time, we got regular updates and photos of him having the time of his life on holiday with them....they are clearly dog lovers and really love the animals they are caring for, I am not really sure Ritz wanted to come home! We would definitely use them again. 100% recommend!”

“We leave Harry with Michaela and Simon for the second time now. We feel absolutely safe when he is with them. I couldn't wish for better sitters than this family. Thank you very much.”

“Sarah made me feel so comfortable leaving my baby with her, she kept me updated and kept him hydrated through the heat, took him to the beach, loads of walks and cuddles, she also sent so many pictures and I would 100% recommend her and she will definitely be my regular dog sitter now so definitely book her but leave some space for me hehe. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Rachel was just wonderful with our nervous rescue, patient and mindful to deal with her sensitivities. From the get go Molly absolutely loved Rachel and was very happy to be with her! Thank you!”

“Our dogs had a great holiday with Daphne. She's very flexible and reliable. We felt very assured that they were well looked after, even during a very hot week. Daphne gave regular updates, about twice day, with photos. It's lovely to know that the dogs are doing well. We'll definitely book with Daphne again.”

“I can’t recommend Talabi more highly, Monty had such a lovely time during his stay with Talabi, he was happy as a happy thing. We received pics and videos every day, Talabi was patient and spent time training Monty, she is absolutely fabulous and clearly a dog lover. I will not hesitate to use Talabi again in future, in fact, Monty is looking forward to his next visit. Thanks so much for taking such wonderful care of him.”

“Megan was amazing! She kept me updated on Millie regularly with photos and videos. It was clear Millie had a great time playing with Megan's two dogs (Lady and Pickle?) as she came back very happy and exhausted! I would feel completely at ease leaving Millie with Megan again - will definitely be doing so - and would highly recommend her.”

“Alex took Queenie overnight, for her first time away from home. I didn't consider leaving her with anyone else, and had no reservations, as I have seen Alex's skill, positivity, and trustworthyness in recent weeks, from the dog walks he has taken Queenie on. He gave Queenie her own little pod to rest in, sent lovely videos and photos of her playing with the pack, and she had a fine time! Thanks again, Alex”

“Sam & Tilly are just a lovely couple with a lovely home!! They had my dog from Monday-Friday and treated him like their own. If you need your pooch looked after, look no further. Thank you both so much, it’s greatly appreciated”

“Helen was absolutely fantastic. I was very uncertain about leaving our nervous dog with someone we didn’t know, she offered us a meet up first so he could meet and get to know her, and it was immediately very clear he was having an amazing time. Helen was brilliant with him and sent us lots of updates so we could see him enjoying his little holiday! Thank you so much Helen, Rafi can’t wait to come and see you again ?”

“Absolutely amazing! We feel so lucky to have found Salome as a cat sitter for our beloved cat, Monty. It was his very first long stay away from us; we were so reassured by the daily photos Salome kindly sent. We honestly couldn't have asked for more from Salome for Monty- huge care, love, all so genuine and so kind. Salome went above and beyond with her care. Monty returned a very happy cat, it was clear he had an amazing week and was very well looked after. Thank you so much, Salome!”

“Amazing! Could not be more calm and happy leaving Shiooshe with Jasmine and Tom. Detailed daily reports, pictures/videos. Could tell that my dog felt like at home and was looked after very well.”

About: I am a lifelong animal lover and have grown up around pets — both cats and dogs. I'm vegan and genuinely care deeply about animal wellbeing. Recently, I looked after my sister-in-law’s small, nervous dog for three weeks, including supporting crate training and settling into a calm routine, which we absolutely loved. That experience is what inspired me to join Rover. I'm patient, attentive, and committed to giving every pet a safe, relaxed, and caring experience. I currently work from home, which means I’m around during the day to look after furry pals, including short walks or check-ins at lunch. I’m also available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding during the evenings in the week. At weekends I’m very flexible and, when free, would love to spend time with pets then too. This flexibility means I can fit pet care naturally into my daily routine and give animals plenty of attention rather than rushing visits. I live in a one-bedroom flat with laminate floors and a small fenced garden. I work from home, so I can keep an eye on your furry friend throughout the day and give them all the attention they need — whether that’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or even some late-night Netflix binging together! I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routines to make sure they feel comfortable and at home.

Megan was absolutely amazing and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Sonny. We were sent numerous updates throughout Sonny’s stay, which was so reassuring. Sonny adored her two lovely doggies and came home very happy and tired! We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Sonny with Megan again and would highly recommend her. Thank you so much Megan for taking such good care of him ❤️ 🐾

Mason was so good with my 2yr cocker spaniel. She looked after him for 5nights, which was ment to be 4 but we had a personal issue that happened on the 4th night but manon was more than happy to has my dog for an extra night which helped me to not have the stress of worrying about my dog and if I could get to him. Photos was posted daily with updates and my dog loved her dog and they became best friends, Would definitely recommend.

Garazi came to meet Buddy before we left him with her. During his stay she sent us videos and photos every day and an update of how he was settling in and where they had been on walks. I felt very happy leaving him and he had clearly been extremely well cared for over the weekend.

We cannot thank Chris and Lene enough. Our Yorkshire Terrier Monty had a fantastic time at their house. They kept us updated with lots of photos throughout the week. We had a few issues with travelling home and Chris and Lene were so flexible with the pick up - it made a horrendous journey so much better!

Jane and Reggie took great care of my dog who came back home happy and healthy. They looked after him during a heatwave and did an amazing job of keeping him comfy whilst still having local woodland walks and playtime. Provided lots pics too, and I would be v. happy to leave my dog in their care again. Would highly recommend. Many thanks

I highly recommend Abby! She takes care of my dog with incredible professionalism and attentiveness. From the very first meeting, she took the time to understand my dog’s habits, preferences, and needs, making sure every detail was handled perfectly. She sends daily photos and detailed updates, so I always know how my dog is doing, which gives me complete peace of mind. My dog is clearly very happy under her care, and it’s obvious that Abby has a genuine love and patience for animals. Whether it’s meals, activities, or emotional care, she handles everything with great attention and warmth. Meeting someone as professional, reliable, and caring as Abby has been such a blessing. I wholeheartedly recommend Abby—she will make both you and your furry friend extremely happy!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
