“Amy was fantastic with Beanz! She communicated clearly throughout, and made the whole process stress-free. She spent time playing with Beanz, and it was obvious he was happy and well cared for. She also kept his food and water bowls clean, and I came back to a tidy kitchen. I’ll definitely be booking her again in the future, highly recommended!”

“Marcus was the perfect cat sitter - made a preliminary visit to confirm their needs and always provided clear communication about his visits. I felt 100% reassured that they would be safe in his hands and will be re- booking him if I need a cat sitter again in the future.”

“So pleased we chose Katie and her wife Amanda to look after our cat , they are lovely people. Really caring with our shy boy. We had daily updates and photos. Couldn’t have asked for more”

“Samantha was super lovely and communicative the whole time, bright and bubbly!! The cats loved her, even Idris who's mostly quite shy looked really happy and cuddly! Cant wait to hire Samantha again! 😻❤xxx”

About: I love animals so much, since I could walk and talk, which led to adopting pets of my own, including cats, dogs and birds. I moved to Hong Kong for work in 2011, and volunteered for multiple rescues across Asia during my 10 year stint. This means that I'm especially good with anxious, nervous, and sick dogs. Since the pandemic, I have successfully completed over 30 housesits (platforms outside of Rover), with a 100% 5 ⭐️ star rating. I now have regular clients in London, Brighton, and Manchester. I have also done several Petsits in Europe and Asia. In terms of schedule, I work from home/coffee shops, and enjoy being out and about in nature, so pet time with me will include outdoor (parks etc.), playtime and tv/cuddle time indoors. I am friendly, caring and reliable, and your fur babies will be happy with me! As a fellow pet owner I understand the anxiety trusting a stranger can cause, so I like to send my clients photo updates once a day, probably more. Please make me aware of any camera recording devices as per the community guidelines. I will usually not accept the use of indoor recording devices during overnight sits for my personal privacy. **PET-SITTING REQUESTS** For overnight requests, please send me information about the house, sleeping arrangements, and local transport on your initial message.
“Clarissa did a wonderful job looking after our cat Molly with drop in vists. Put our mind at ease knowing she was getting some good quality time and always nice to get pics and updates on how she was doing. Excellent communication and we came back to a very happy cat, would definitely recommend.”

About: 🐱🐶 Lifelong animal lover with experience caring for cats, kittens, and dogs, including volunteering at an animal shelter and fostering cats.🐱🐶 I’ve loved animals from a very young age and come from a very animal-loving family. Growing up, we always had cats at home, and I’ve helped care for kittens since I was a child. While living in Tokyo, where pets weren’t allowed in my apartment, I volunteered at a local animal shelter walking dogs and helping care for the animals. During the pandemic, I also fostered two cats, including one with special needs, which was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. I’m very attentive to each animal’s personality and needs, whether they’re energetic, shy, or require extra patience and care. I’ll always treat your pet with the same kindness, attention, and responsibility as if they were my own. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is safe and happy while you’re away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and cat sitting during the week and many weekends. I enjoy spending time outdoors and going for walks, so dog walking fits naturally into my routine. I’m also happy to adapt to your pet’s usual schedule for feeding, walks, or check-ins so they can keep their normal routine as much as possible. I always aim to create a calm, safe, and respectful environment for pets. In a pet owner’s home, I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, and routines so your pet feels comfortable and secure. I’m attentive to each animal’s personality and needs, whether they enjoy lots of play and interaction or prefer a quieter approach. I also make sure doors, gates, and living spaces are secure and that pets always have fresh water and a clean environment. I treat every home and pet with the same care and respect I would expect for my own.
“Enya looked after my puppy for a couple of hours and the puppy had a lovely time playing, snoozing, playing and snoozing! I felt very assured Lumi was in a safe pair of hands. Will definitely be booking Enya again, thank you so much!”

About: Ive been dog sitting for 10+ years and I have made lots of doggy friendships during that time through walking and boarding! I've been surrounded by dogs for as long as I can remember and I've also supported my grandma in rescuing and rebuilding confidence in several ex race greyhounds. I live in a house with my partner, daughter and our two lovely dogs. My partner also adores dogs and has had lots of experence with rescuing dogs over the years. We have a 4 year old sproodle and 1 year old golden retriever. They are both incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have both been surrounded by dogs and love the extra company ❤ When your pup visits they will have access to: -snuffle activities -lick mats - other enrichment activites such as treat dispensers - a box full of toys! - a huge amount of tennis balls -accommodating walks to suit your pup (short, long, on lead, off lead etc) - a trip to a secure private feild that I can hire - lots and lots of love from humans and our own pups ❤ I am a primary school teacher so therefore have weekends free and the bonus of school holidays! I'd love nothing more than to spend this free time in the company of dogs 😍
About: I've always loved caring for dogs from a young age. My family would regularly take care of neighbours dogs when they went away which I always enjoyed. I have continued to care for animals throughout my adult life. I worked for Guide Dogs for the Blind for several years. This meant I gained an ability to confidently deal with all types of dogs of all ages. I have also worked on several farms whilst travelling which involved caring for dogs, cats, chickens and cows. One instance involved looking after a young pup adjusting to a new life. This was a challenge at times but was so satisfying to see the progress he made during our time together. I love building relationships with animals and providing a safe place for them to thrive alongside us humans. I'm currently working part time so have plenty of space in my schedule to play, feed, and care for your furry friends. I am free every morning and also have space most evenings. Would be a pleasure to fill that spare time with caring for your pets! I can welcome cats or dogs into my flat and create a safe, relaxing space for them to enjoy being in. I can also ensure that I will bring a gentle, calming, considerate energy when interacting with your pets whether in my own home, or in yours, or out in the world.
About: I was raised around all types of dogs and have over five years of hands-on experience caring for my own two dogs, Milo and Clifford. I’ve also regularly looked after dogs for family and friends over the years, building trust and confidence in providing safe, loving, reliable care. Milo and Clifford are friendly, neutered, and love having playmates. 🐶🐾 I work during the week, which makes me perfectly suited to caring for pets while owners enjoy weekend getaways. I’m also available for morning and evening walks or drop-in visits during the week, ensuring pets receive consistent care, attention, and routine even when you’re busy. 🐾 I care for every dog as if they were my own, following their usual routines to help them feel safe and settled. Owners provide their dog’s food to maintain their normal diet, and I have a crate available if needed. I also have a secure, fully enclosed garden for safe playtime, plus easy access to plenty of open fields for long, enjoyable walks and exercise. 🐶🌿🐾
About: I have had my own own dog, a lovely mixed-breed rescue called Teddy and have looked after dogs professionally for ten plus years. I am used to many breeds including rescues and large breeds. I will treat your dog as my own! X I currently work from home in tech/software. I tend to be in for most of the day only leaving for 3 hours maximum. I enjoy being out at the park, on the beach or walking up the Seven Sisters National Park, all of which is behind my house. I live very close to the beach. My home is on the ground floor, comfortable and I have a huge dog bed and plenty of toys.
About: CURRENTLY ON A BREAK: Hi everyone! I'm currently on a wilderness trip to America! I'll be gone for a few months and should be back by December at the latest. I apologise for any inconvenience and would love to chat to you all when I get back! Give your pets lots of cuddles from me. Thanks! -------- Aside from looking after my own adorable border terrier, I've cared for dogs big and small, cuddled up to some cats, guinea pigs, birds, snakes and fed some fish! I've always loved animals and as a pet owner I understand how important it is that your animal friends are treated with love and care. I have previous experience administering medication to both cats and dogs, carrying elderly dogs up and down the stairs (just small ones, I'm not that buff!) and looking after energetic puppies. I'm more than happy to meet any animal that needs caring for. I'm sure we'll get along great! ---------------------- The total booking fee of any house-sitting stay is doubled for constant care (pets who can't be left alone for longer than 4 hours total in the daytime, within a 24 hour period). I love being with your pets and will be spending as much time as I can with them. However, I also need to run errands, go to school and may just want to see friends or family. I am able to provide constant care, but will increase my prices for this to reflect the increase in commitment. Thank you for understanding! I'm currently only studying on Mondays and Tuesdays until 4pm, so the rest of the week I'm completely free! I'm also more than happy to housesit on these days if you don't mind me being out at the beginning of the week (but every other day I'm a big homebody!). I completely understand that some pets can be nervous having a new person coming into their home. Absolutely anything I can do to make both you and your pet feel more comfortable- just say the word! I have experience crating dogs and soothing nervous ones- whether it's a stroke or a run around they need. I always try to leave a place better than how I found it. No messes! I'd love to chat with you more about your pet and get to know how to best take care of your individual animal friend's needs.
About: My brother has a beautiful chow that I watch regularly. I’m very active and would love to have a companion (whether just a walk or a sleepover). I appreciate that each dog will have their own unique personalities and needs, and I’m happy to work around that. I walk each morning and evening, so I’m really interested in walking/boarding dogs. Please get in touch if you need support! My house has a fenced garden, nearby parks (< 2min), and room for them to relax. I don’t own a pet currently but watch dogs regularly x I mainly work from home so looking after pups fits in well with my weekly routine. With enough notice I can work from home which allows me to care for dogs during the working week. I’m vigilant, caring and enjoy spending time with dogs. I am happy to meet up before the booking, particularly if a dog is staying with me, so they can familiarise themselves with the space.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Lewes
Anna jumped in to help look after our two rather elderly cats. We received daily updates with pictures and felt reassured that the cats were okay and being looked after. Very happy to recommend Anna if you need someone to pop in and feed, fuss and clean up. I think our cats are missing her!

We were so happy with the care our two cats received while we were away. They were well looked after, happy, and relaxed when we got home, which says everything. We got regular updates and photos, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear they were treated with genuine care and attention. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely use again. Thank you for taking such great care of our cats!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
