“Annabel was a fantastic friend to my cat while I was away for a week. Her kindness, understanding and caring nature meant that Blossom was very happy and looked forward to her daily visits. I would not hesitate to recommend Annabel - she really is certainly someone that can be relied on with any pet she is asked to look after. Thank you so much to Annabel!”

“Ollie had a great time with Mairi! Mairi was absolutely brilliant and keeping us in the loop with photos and videos. She was able to accommodate specific feeding times as well has giving Ollie medication. In short Ollie has a new best friend. Would recommend and will definitely book again! ”

“We wouldn't hesitate to use Luna again and couldn't recommend her enough. She was wonderful with our cat, Violet. She sent updates and photos after each visit, which we greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!”

About: I am used to taking care of friends pets(dogs, cats, rabbits) when they are away over the years! I love doing so. Especially because I live in rented accommodation, so can no longer have one of my own. I currently work part time. Tuesdays to Fridays 9-4:30. I have plenty of time to spend with your lovely fur babies and am so looking forward to. I like going to the beach/in nature for swims and walks! I am happy working with your personal boundaries when it comes to looking after your pet. I know everyone cares for their pets slightly differently and would love to experience that.
“I can’t thank you enough for taking care of Mini! I really appreciated the daily updates, it made me happy to see her playing with you, and to know that she was having a good time :)”

“Ting is so great with my two rescues! They can be very neurotic in their own special ways haha and she handles them wonderfully, they were very happy, fed and tired out when I got home :) Thanks so much!”

“Kate has taken care of our three cats on several occasions now and we could not ask for more from a cat sitter. Kate clearly loves cats and she gladly sends us videos and photos along with her very reliable cat caring service. One of our cats is very shy but he warmed to Kate straight away. Highly recommended.”

“Sophie dropped in to feed our cat George while we were away and I will definitely be booking with her again. Sophie was really responsive and sent us lots of pictures and updates on how George was doing, and gave him lots of pets while she was there. Thanks so much Sophie :)”

“After a successful couple of meet & greets, Beth’s first one hour visit seemed to go well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take time to warm up to new people. Although she wasn’t brave enough to approach Beth that day, she was comfortable and relaxed enough to have a snooze while she was there. Which shows that she isn’t overly worried about Beth, who didn’t try to push things too fast and went at Sookie’s pace, allowing her to feel that relaxed she could close her eyes. Very happy with Beth and her knowledge of handling nervous dogs.”

About: I grew up on a farm, my family have always had dogs and I have been involved in the caring of our animals. I truly enjoy their company. I’ve dog sat regularly for three parson russell’s as well as many other dogs with different needs. I have helped with raising litters of puppies as well as caring for our elderly dogs. We have experience with nervous dogs or dogs that prefer to avoid other dogs. I have also spent some time working on a sheep farm so have some experience with working dogs. We send regular photos and videos during your booking to give you peace of mind. I work from home, as does my partner Ryan, so there should always be someone home with your dog. We can do longer walks before or after work and can accommodate shorter walks and play during the working day. Calendar is generally up to date but do ask to check :) We have a small but secure garden in Hove and live near the beach and Hove Park for walks. No other pets or children in the house. Non-smoking. Your pets safety and security will always be put first.
About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire, nearly 30 years of life, and have experience with various breeds, ages and temperaments. I hope to one day have my own but until then I would love to hang out with & look after yours! Whether that be keeping them company while you're away, taking them on their daily walks or dropping in to make sure they're fed and watered. I recently left my full time job so I am available pretty much all day every day! I am actively job-seeking so I can’t currently commit to repeat / weekly / long term care! Apologies! I understand things can be relatively last minute! So whatever time / day works best for you generally works for me too! I live with my boyfriend who loves to get equally fully involved with any dog in our care! My Home: No garden but a peaceful and spacious flat with a balcony that is a 3 minute walk from St. Ann’s Well gardens, 4 minutes from Hove Lawns and the seafront and 15 minutes from Dyke Road Park/Hove Green. Currently no car but 30 seconds from Western Road bus stops or 12 minute walk from the station if travel is ever required for a bigger walk in Preston or Stanmer Park!
“Eleanor is fantastic with our cocker spaniel, really reliable, friendly, professional and sends updates / gives peace of mind. Alfie loves her and she’s been great at adjusting the visits for walks to playing/ enrichment based on the weather / what Alfie needs. Would definitely recommend :)”

About: I grew up with 12 dogs at home and countless weekends spent at dog agility shows. This grew into a lifelong love of dogs of all sizes and personalities. I've spent the past 10 years dog sitting and walking, through word-of-mouth recommendation, until someone suggested I join Rover! I am an easy going and naturally active person, so I love to take dogs on long walks, or take them socializing in cafes (if they like to!), and do basic trick training. I've experience with dogs of all sizes, from collies to GSD's and retired greyhounds to Chihuahuas. I'm a freelancer and part-time yoga teacher, so I have lots of time to spend with four legged friends, so you can be sure they get most of my attention! I plan my work around my pups, not the other way around. At mine: I have a dog friendly apartment on ground floor, no garden but quick access to St Annes garden OR Palmeria Square. I have room to set up a crate if that is your preference. I have enrichment toys and a dog bed here too. At yours: I will follow your preferred instructions! Walking: I always stay present with the dog, I don't walk with headphones in and I am mindful of distractions or the dog's personality. I am happy to follow your preference on walk type, length, and location (within radius!) Cafe socializing: if you would like your dog to spend time in cafes and socialise, I love this too! not all dogs enjoy this, some love it, so this is down to preference. Again, the dogs comfort and tolerance is my number one priority!
About: I have had pets as long as I can remember and have often looked after the pets of friends and family. I have also previously volunteered at animal shelters and sanctuaries. I work remotely full time so I have a good deal of flexibility with my schedule and can work in drop-in visits mornings, afternoons and evenings. I will be sure to follow all pet care instructions and will provide time for play and photos to send while you’re away. I have three pets of my own (dog and cats) so I am familiar with all types and personalities!
About: Hello! My name is Em (Rover keeps the name on my ID unfortunately). I have been looking after family and friends dogs since I was a small child. I love spending time with dogs, ensuring they get the exercise and stimulation needed, and the care they deserve. I mostly grew up around staffies (to this day my favourite breed), so I am used to hyperactive and excitable pups. I also grew up predominantly with cats, so I am well versed in looking after them too. I am a disabled, able-bodied adult (I have autism, so it is difficult to find 'traditional' work, but it also means that I spend a lot more time with animals), so I am available every day needed. Your dog will always be supervised, inside and outside your home. I am able to crate your dog if needed. I will also ask for a list of rules/needs for your pet to ensure the best care and experience for both you and your pet.

I was lucky to find Laura to look after Luna for almost 2 weeks while I was away on holiday. We have just moved to Brighton and it is always difficult finding a new sitter you can trust. Laura was very accomodating and came to meet us and Luna instantly took a liking to her- a feat in itself!. She updated me daily with pictures and Luna looked super happy and content! I can highly recommend her and will be booking her again.

Lorna made me feel a lot more relaxed about leaving my cats for a week. She sent me daily video updates and both Rufus and Holly were chilled and happy when I got back. Unlike her brother, Holly always hides from strangers, but by the end of the week was also appearing for video updates at dinner time. My tomato plants were also well cared for! Would certainly use Lorna again.

My cat is usually very nervous around new people and tends to run and hide, but from day one he was happily taking treats from her. He normally won't take food from anyone new, so that alone says everything about how gentle and patient she is with cats. She also followed every request perfectly, from leaving the lights on to all the little details I asked for. When I came home, I found Mario wasn't hiding, and didn't show the sign of stress. With some people he's been frightened and hiding when I return, so this was a huge relief. Thanks very much for your effort and care. I recommend her to anyone who has a shy cat.

Excellent all round. Balbina is obviously very good with animals because she forged an immediate connection with our not always overly-friendly cat when she came to collect the keys. She was communicative, reliable and a pleasure to deal with but, most of all, she took the time to make sure the cat was happy. She provided plenty of photos and clips of a very happy cat being stroked and petted. It's reassuring to know that your treasured family member is being cared for by someone who loves animals as much as you. Highly recommended.

Giulia is a wonderful cat carer, who looked after my old cat, Charlotte, brilliantly. I would highly recommend her as she was very kind to Charlotte, who clearly liked her immediately, was very prompt in responding to my texts and gave me very precise feedback about Charlotte, including lovely videos and photos. Giulia was so kind and thoughtful that she even collected some birthday flowers from a local shop that would definitely have died in the heatwave, without her help. Exceptional cat care - many thanks!

We couldn’t be happier with the fantastic service we received Ariana! Communication was absolutely excellent from start to finish, providing us with regular updates and plenty of photos that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. We highly recommend Ariana to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and trustworthy sitter!
I would recomend Jeanique and will book her again! She was communicative and my cat seemed to be at ease with her from the start. She had to deal with a couple of mishaps with my cat being sick on the carpet and peeing outside the box (!!!) and was very graceful about it. I am very thankful 🙏
Came home to three very content and well-groomed cats! Olivia was an incredibly thoughtful and conscientious sitter who took really good care of ours boys for two weeks while we were away. Her updates were always friendly and detailed and you could see from the photos that everyone really enjoyed her company, which with three fussy Maine Coons is no mean feat! All communication with Olivia before, during and after her visits was really easy and we'll definitely be booking her again.
It was the first time we used Amanda for our two cats Poppy and Daisy. She came for a visit prior to us heading off on holiday and gave the cats some treats and a good stroke. She was reassuring and clearly had a lot of experience with cats. Whilst we were away we were very reassured seeing her check ins and the photos she shared of the cats looking very relaxed and happy with her.
I couldn't have asked for a better cat sitter. I was able to completely relax on holiday knowing my cats were in Tamara's care. She sent daily updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and her communication was excellent throughout. Tamara genuinely loves animals. She spent quality time with my cats, played with them, and paid attention to every detail of their care. I trust her completely and feel incredibly lucky to have found her. She's truly a dream cat sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
