“Ruta looked after our cat while we were away - she completed daily drop-ins to feed out cat and check she was ok. Everything went smoothly and communication was excellent.”

About: I love animals and grew up around dogs, cats, chinchillas, birds and fish! I’ve been in London just over 10 years and just moved to Brighton last summer. I’ve sat dogs and cats for numerous Rover users and friends, and also used to have a neighbour’s cat drop in for visits every day for years before my recent Brighton move. I genuinely want to spend time with animals and would happily walk dogs or drop in to feed/ play with cats in my area. Happy to host pets at my place as. I wouldn’t be comfortable taking in pets from multiple households at the same time as this is largely set up for companionship rather than revenue while my partner and I work our life out to have a pet (or more likely pets) or our own . Can also stay at yours with a bit of an advance notice. I work a nearly fully remote job so am around pretty much all working weeks and most weekends :) These days I have a few calls a day totalling around two to three hours so I am truly flexible with my pet sitting schedule I don’t have a garden but my flat is right by a few greens and a large park is 10mins away. I have no toxic plants for cats or dogs. I’ve cared for senior dogs and cats so am no stranger to a tablet pusher or a secret ham pill roll. Have also cared for cats with asthma and given them inhalers.
“Elena was great. My cat enjoyed her company and she messaged me every day as requested so I knew how my boy was getting on. I’d definitely book her again. Thanks Elena for your care and attention.”

About: I have over 12 years’ experience caring for my own four family dogs, so looking after pets really is second nature to me. I know every dog is different and I’m always happy to go at their pace, whether that’s a good long walk, a walk round the block, or just plenty of fuss and company while you’re away. I work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. They will always have company, attention and cuddles throughout the day. I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, relaxed and loved. I’m available for walks during lunchtime, evenings, and weekends, so whether your dog needs a midday stroll or a weekend adventure, I’ve got it covered. Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priorities. During walks, I keep dogs on the lead and pay close attention to their comfort and surroundings. For drop-ins and house sitting, I follow your instructions closely, whether it’s feeding, medications, or sticking to routines, while also keeping your home secure and respected. I’ll provide regular updates and photos so you have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is to create a calm, loving environment where your pets feel comfortable, cared for, and safe, whether I’m visiting for a short check-in, staying overnight, or spending the day together.
“Emily did a wonderful job with Dakota! She was prompt, communicative, and followed all instructions to the letter. Dakota clearly had a wonderful time with Emily as evidenced by the photos and smiles. We will absolutely have Emily back to help in the future.”

About: Hello! My name is Em (Rover keeps the name on my ID unfortunately). I have been looking after family and friends dogs since I was a small child. I love spending time with dogs, ensuring they get the exercise and stimulation needed, and the care they deserve. I mostly grew up around staffies (to this day my favourite breed), so I am used to hyperactive and excitable pups. I also grew up predominantly with cats, so I am well versed in looking after them too. I am a disabled, able-bodied adult (I have autism, so it is difficult to find 'traditional' work, but it also means that I spend a lot more time with animals), so I am available every day needed. Your dog will always be supervised, inside and outside your home. I am able to crate your dog if needed. I will also ask for a list of rules/needs for your pet to ensure the best care and experience for both you and your pet.
About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire, nearly 30 years of life, and have experience with various breeds, ages and temperaments. I hope to one day have my own but until then I would love to hang out with & look after yours! Whether that be keeping them company while you're away, taking them on their daily walks or dropping in to make sure they're fed and watered. I recently left my full time job so I am available pretty much all day every day! I am actively job-seeking so I can’t currently commit to repeat / weekly / long term care! Apologies! I understand things can be relatively last minute! So whatever time / day works best for you generally works for me too! I live with my boyfriend who loves to get equally fully involved with any dog in our care! My Home: No garden but a peaceful and spacious flat with a balcony that is a 3 minute walk from St. Ann’s Well gardens, 4 minutes from Hove Lawns and the seafront and 15 minutes from Dyke Road Park/Hove Green. Currently no car but 30 seconds from Western Road bus stops or 12 minute walk from the station if travel is ever required for a bigger walk in Preston or Stanmer Park!
About: I have had a varying range of dogs since a child. I have had a golden retriever, a french bulldog and a west highland terrier which I assisted in training and raised from a puppy. I have also had experience looking after friends dogs of all sizes and adult cats. I work from home monday to friday with plenty of time to be away from work to tend to your animals needs alongside plenty of free afternoons and nights. I am able to take animals out as frequently as needed, I also live near a lovely green which is ideal for any walks or activities.

About: Hi, I’m Callie, a huge animal lover based in Hove, with over 24 years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I’ve grown up surrounded by animals including dogs, cats, chickens, horses, guinea pigs and more, so I understand how much love, patience, routine and attention goes into keeping pets happy, healthy and comfortable. I’ve been using Rover for over 4 years now and absolutely love it. Over that time I’ve cared for a wide range of dogs and cats with all sorts of personalities and needs from energetic puppies chewing everything in sight to big affectionate dogs who think they’re lap dogs! I’m very calm, adaptable and genuinely enjoy getting to know each animal individually. As well as Rover, I volunteered at a dog sanctuary in Guatemala while travelling through Central America, helping care for rescue dogs day-to-day. I’ve also done longer-term dog sitting while travelling, including month-long stays, so I’m very comfortable maintaining routines and helping pets feel settled and secure while their owners are away. I’m equally a cat person too! My sister has two very demanding, very characterful cats who I regularly help care for, so I’m used to independent personalities, different feeding routines, playtime, cuddles on their terms, and all the little quirks that come with cats. I’m physically fit, active, and love being outdoors, so I genuinely enjoy long walks and making sure dogs get plenty of exercise, stimulation and attention. I also have experience administering medication to both dogs and cats, and understand the importance of patience, trust and consistency when caring for animals with additional needs. I know how important it is finding someone trustworthy to look after your pets and house, and I always try to make animals feel as relaxed, loved and cared for as possible while you’re away. I am currently working with a 7 days on 7 days off schedule. So am often available for a week at a time, which would be ideal for clients who need a sitter while on holiday. I am flexible and adaptive to fit your pets needs and routine. I have found the best way to create a good connection and trust between both myself and the dog and myself and the owner is to arrange a pre meet so I can come and meet your dog/ pets make sure we get on, while you talk me though their needs and how to take care of your house too!
About: I'm a veterinary Surgeon. Love helping my friends and others to look after their pets. I've taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits and hamster for the last 5 years. I'm keen to go to their homes, or even taken them to mine. I have a friendly dog myself and had a cat a few years ago. I love all animals. Keen to do early walks in the mornings before going to work and evenings. Happy to help when people away on holidays over summer. Can take pets to my place or happy to stay at others place. I have cosy flat near 2min walk from Hove Park. Don't mind if pets are on furniture. Always keep doors and windows locked for their saftey. I normally take the dogs with me when I go to work. I normally work at yards and Farms where doggies are allowed under supervision.
About: With years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, I offer safe, reliable sitting in a calm home environment. From long walks to belly rubs and medication if needed, your dog will be treated like family while you're away. I work from home during the week, which means your pet gets plenty of attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I provide calm, reliable care tailored to your pet’s needs—whether it’s walks, playtime, medications, or just a cozy presence. I have a small, secure back garden for safe outdoor time, plus comfy dog beds, toys, and a calm environment where your dog is welcome anywhere in my home.
About: I grew up on a farm, my family have always had dogs and I have been involved in the caring of our animals. I truly enjoy their company. I’ve dog sat regularly for three parson russell’s as well as many other dogs with different needs. I have helped with raising litters of puppies as well as caring for our elderly dogs. We have experience with nervous dogs or dogs that prefer to avoid other dogs. I have also spent some time working on a sheep farm so have some experience with working dogs. We send regular photos and videos during your booking to give you peace of mind. I work from home, as does my partner Ryan, so there should always be someone home with your dog. We can do longer walks before or after work and can accommodate shorter walks and play during the working day. Calendar is generally up to date but do ask to check :) We have a small but secure garden in Hove and live near the beach and Hove Park for walks. No other pets or children in the house. Non-smoking. Your pets safety and security will always be put first.
“Our second meet & greet and 10 minute trial with Inna seemed to go well, although my dog barked a bit when I came back in (which she doesn’t normally do). Inna asks all the right questions, and seems to really want to understand both my and my dog’s needs. She was also on time and good communication. Hoping to use her again in future.”

“Ariana was absolutely fantastic with our Pearl! She can be a little bit demanding, but Ariana was there for her every need! We were updated every visit with photos and videos which really put my mind at ease to see Pearl SO happy, playing and purring! Ariana went over and above, I cannot recommend her enough!!”

About: I grew up with cats and dogs at home, where my days were regularly spent walking the dogs, cuddling up on the sofa or sharing my bed with a furry friend or two. I regularly house sit for my sister who has three Cocker Spaniels, taking them for beach or woodland walks and giving them lots of snuggles and love. I'm always conscious of not leaving pets alone at home for too long and understand that some are unable to be left alone due to their separation anxiety. I have also house sat for a couple via Trusted Housesitters, looking after their Jug (Jack Russell x Pug) for four days in their flat. On top of that, I work for a dog charity and occassionally foster pups that we are trying to rehome. I live in a pet and child-free flat in Seven Dials, Brighton. We don't have a garden however we have an enclosed shared patio for my apartment building and I live walking distance to various green spaces including St Ann's Well Gardens, Hove Park and Preston Park. I'm also a 20 minute walk to the beach. I work in marketing and my office in Seven Dials 5 minutes from my flat. I do a mix of office and work from home and have some flexibility, so if there is ever a week day in my calendar where I’m unavailable you can still reach out as I may occasionally able to move my days around. Working from home means I have plenty of time to give a pet lots of love, cuddles, as well as take them out regularly for toilet breaks and walks. I live in a spacious three bedroom flat which pets will be allowed to roam freely. I have no issues with pets sleeping in a bed within my room, on my bed or on the furniture. If needed, I can keep dogs enclosed in the kitchen whenever I am out of the house. I am happy to follow individual owner's rules when in their home to ensure their pet's routine is maintained. I don't have any pets and won't accept more than one pet owner at a time so you can feel reassured that your pet(s) would have my undivided attention.
About: I grew up on a farm constantly surrounded by lots of animals, especially dogs where I had to care for up to 16 in our farms kennels! I love the company of animals and the joy they bring whilst giving them good quality care. I have a part time job therefore I am quite flexible to care and walk your adorable pet. I’m happy to accommodate to yours and your dogs needs! I also have a car so I can take your pet on longer walks if they are high energy. I often like going to devils dyke and the Seven Sisters on walks! I have a pretty flexible schedule as I have a small part time job therefore having a lot of free time to engage in different activities and opportunities aswell as accommodate yours and your pets needs! I can feed, walk and give your pet company as and when you need. I have a safe environment and lots of parks nearby to take your pet on lovely walks and to play. I can be a companion for your pet or take care of them at home whilst you are busy!
About: Hello!! I have always loved dogs!! We’ve always had dogs growing up and then when I moved to Spain I started volunteering at the weekends for a dog shelter...of course within a week I had rescued Oreo haha! He was about 18 months old and had never lived in a house before. Oreo came with many many challenges but with a lot of positive reinforcement and patience he learned what was okay to do and what wasn't! Dogs have always been a huge part of my family and life! People who don't have pets don't understand that dogs (and other animals) are just as important as humans (or even more so). Growing up we had German Shephards and Border Terriers. So I have always been around both big dogs and little dogs. My partner and I both absolutely adore animals. We both work from home so are always around to spend time with our furry friends and walk them three times a day: 1 hour in the morning, 1 hour / evening and a short walk in the afternoon. Oreo is always delighted to have the company of other dogs in the house as we also live with two cats and he says sometimes he just misses his own kind haha! I am a very active person and I love being outdoors, walking ... and exploring new parks and greens! :) I promise that if you let me take care of your pup, we will have a great time together. I can adapt the routine to whatever needs your dog has. I can also administer medication or special diet if that’s what your pup needs. I send loads of photos and videos because I know what it feels like to leave mine ...! I assure endless affection and care!! Lots of cuddles and love! Please don’t hesitate to message me with any questions or more information! We look forward to meeting you and your dog soon!! P.S My old reviews are in Spanish because I was living there for years, please translate them if you want some reassurance from previous owners! Thanks <3

About: Growing up in the welsh countryside I have always been around animals. We had cats and jack russell terriers when I was young, and later on I helped out on a farm with horses and working collies. This love for animals carried on as I got older and I started walking neighbours dogs (bull mastiffs) for free and cat sitting for friends when they went away. Post Uni I started helping out locally with dog walking through borrow my doggy. I ended up house sitting for one of my customer’s houses a few times to look after their dog while they were on holiday (the lovely Vizsla in my photos). More recently I volunteered for German Shepherd Rescue Elite in Nottingham as shepherds and Malis are my personal favourite, so now have a fair range of experience with larger breeds and some reactivity issues. I really loved both the rescue and my regular borrow my doggy connections and would have carried on however, I have moved to Brighton and the commute would’ve been a bit tough! I have two cats now and I am calm and responsible and will always treat your animals as if they are my own and will send regular updates so you know how things are going! Really looking forward to making some new animal friends, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, always happy to chat to make sure you are confident with who you are entrusting to look after your family member! I’m in the office generally Tuesdays and Wednesdays and work from home the rest of the week so am available for walking/drop ins after work (4:30pm onwards) on most weekdays. I can do some morning visits on days I’m not in the office and any time on most weekends - just ask and I’ll let you know if I can fit it in! We have no garden and two cats at home so having other pets in our flat would not be an option however, I am more than happy to look after your pets in your own home during the working day if I am able to borrow your wifi to work from home at the same time!

I asked Rae pretty short notice if she could take care of my Tula and Bluebell for the weekend and she yet again went out of her way, really going the extra mile. She did more than we asked and treated Tula, my dog, like her own. I feel so reassured booking with Rae knowing she will have quality care and company. Thank you so much again. 🥰

Kendall is a fabulous dog sitter 🌟 It was our first time leaving our dog with anyone and Kendall made us feel so comfortable, with getting to know us before & sending us updates throughout the visit. We can tell Ozzy had a lovely time with Kendall (and misses her already!) Our dog has a very specific routine that Kendall stuck to to make him comfortable. We would definitely recommend Kendall & will book with her again in the future 🤗

Johanna’s first two one hour visits with Sookie went really well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take a bit of time to warm up to new people. But with Johanna, she seemed to get very comfortable very quickly. Approaching her, choosing to lie near her, and having a snooze. And then on the second visit she put her head on her legs! Johanna has taken things at Sookie’s pace and my dog has quickly felt safe and happy with her.

After a successful couple of meet & greets, Beth’s first one hour visit seemed to go well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take time to warm up to new people. Although she wasn’t brave enough to approach Beth that day, she was comfortable and relaxed enough to have a snooze while she was there. Which shows that she isn’t overly worried about Beth, who didn’t try to push things too fast and went at Sookie’s pace, allowing her to feel that relaxed she could close her eyes. Very happy with Beth and her knowledge of handling nervous dogs.

Kate agreed to sit for us at late notice, which we were very grateful for. Her communication and attention to detail noting Sweep’s needs was also very reassuring. Kate arrived in great time and sent regular updates. Sweep had a great afternoon with Kate and we wouldn’t hesitate to rebook or recommend her to others.

We have been repeat customers for Eli and we are very happy with her. Our dogs love her. Eli is very reliable and trustworthy. She understands our dogs needs and is flexible around their needs. We highly recommend Eli and will definitely book her again. Thanks Eli!

Caspar was a joy! He was super professional and organised, with great communication before and during the days he was helping out. He came over the day before the visits started to meet the dogs and understand their preferences and logistics. He sent us loads of pictures during his visits. Lots of updates as to how the dogs are doing and also questions where he did not know something and wanted to make sure he was planning the right thing. He was also patient with one of our dogs that is shy/nervous. He also went above expectations by taking one of our dogs to the beach even when he knew this would exceed the 1 hour he was expected to give us - many thanks to him, our dogs were well loved and cared for! Wish him all the best!
Thank you Niamh for getting to know Freda, unfortunately she’s still pretty anxious with new people so the sit didn’t work out but when she’s better I would definitely rebook Niamh as she is a very lovely, patient and communicative girl who gave my anxious rescue dog a chance! We so appreciate that x
