Amanda took such good care of our two cats (who are not used to being by themselves for multiple days). She seems to have a magical calming energy, that even our scared one came out eventually to get to know her (instead of hiding forever)! We absolutely loved the photo updates and felt reassured that our fur babies were in good hands.

Johanna’s first two one hour visits with Sookie went really well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take a bit of time to warm up to new people. But with Johanna, she seemed to get very comfortable very quickly. Approaching her, choosing to lie near her, and having a snooze. And then on the second visit she put her head on her legs! Johanna has taken things at Sookie’s pace and my dog has quickly felt safe and happy with her.

About: I’m a huge animal lover! I’ve grown up with Shar Peis, Belgian griffons and cats. My mum would make sure we stuck to her training techniques too - so I’d like to think I’m good at keeping dogs under control. I'm super friendly, attentive and love creating a special bond with animals. I'm new to Rover, but would love to build up consistent relationships - and am happy for meet and greets, or video calls. I currently work from home 4 days a week, with a 1 hour lunch break and other flexible breaks throughout the day. My work is flexible so I am able to give your pets the attention they need. I finish at 5pm and am available in the evenings too. I live in a 3 floor flat with no other pets. So whilst they are free to roam the house - unfortunately our garden isn’t fully secure. I’m active and love walking! I am close to the beach and several parks.

About: I grew up on a farm, my family have always had dogs and I have been involved in the caring of our animals. I truly enjoy their company. I’ve dog sat regularly for three parson russell’s as well as many other dogs with different needs. I have helped with raising litters of puppies as well as caring for our elderly dogs. We have experience with nervous dogs or dogs that prefer to avoid other dogs. I have also spent some time working on a sheep farm so have some experience with working dogs. We send regular photos and videos during your booking to give you peace of mind. I work from home, as does my partner Ryan, so there should always be someone home with your dog. We can do longer walks before or after work and can accommodate shorter walks and play during the working day. Calendar is generally up to date but do ask to check :) We have a small but secure garden in Hove and live near the beach and Hove Park for walks. No other pets or children in the house. Non-smoking. Your pets safety and security will always be put first.

About: I've always been a huge animal lover and was lucky enough to have my own dog (English Bulldog) for six wonderful years. During that time, I gained hands-on experience caring for a dog with additional needs, including managing allergies, maintaining strict hygiene routines and working consistently on behavioural training using patience and positive reinforcement. Looking after my dog taught me how important it is to understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs. Although my dog is no longer with me, I really miss having a four-legged companion around the house. Becoming a pet sitter allows me to continue doing something I genuinely love while giving owners peace of mind that their dog will be treated as if they were my own. I live alone in a calm, clean and smoke-free home, meaning your dog will receive plenty of one-to-one attention, affection and care. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime or simply relaxing on the sofa, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved throughout their stay. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet behind, so I'll always keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you know they're happy and well looked after. I’m currently working 3 days a week from home and have some flexibility to go out when needed for toilet breaks. I can also have them over the weekend, I love going for walks so ideally some dogs with energy. Again I can be flexible. My home has no garden access. It’s 60 sq metres so enough space. I have no animals or kids. Beachfront is 15mn walk, park is 7 mn walk.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover who has grown up with dogs and while I can’t currently have a dog of my own due to work commitments, caring for other people’s dogs is the perfect way for me to stay connected to what I love most — spending time with happy, tail-wagging companions. I’ve had hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs. I’m comfortable with: - Daily walks and exercise routines - Feeding schedules and dietary needs - Basic training reinforcement - Administering oral medications if needed - Providing lots of attention, affection, and playtime Having owned dogs myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I know they’re not “just dogs” — they’re family. I will provide a calm, patient, and attentive environment where your dog will feel safe and loved. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, play sessions, or just cuddling on the couch, I adapt to their individual personality and needs. I’m reliable, communicative, and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident your dog is in good hands. I’d love the opportunity to care for your dog as if they were my own. Feel free to reach out — I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend! I work from home, which means your dog will have plenty of company, supervision, and attention throughout the day. I’m able to provide regular toilet breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of reassurance — especially helpful for dogs who don’t like being left alone for long periods. Because I’m home-based, I can easily stick to your dog’s usual routine, including feeding times, medication schedules, and specific care instructions. Whether your pup needs structured walks, enrichment activities, or just a cosy spot near me while I work, I can adapt to their needs. I’m also able to offer boarding, providing a calm, safe, and comfortable environment where your dog will be treated like part of the family. I live in a comfortable one-bedroom flat in the centre of Hove, providing a calm and cosy environment for your dog to relax in. My home is safe, tidy, and well-suited to hosting dogs, with enough space for them to feel settled and comfortable. One of the biggest benefits is access to a secure garden, giving your dog a safe outdoor space for fresh air and toilet breaks throughout the day. Being centrally located also means we’re close to lovely walking routes and green spaces for regular exercise and enrichment. Your dog will be welcomed into a peaceful, home-from-home environment where they’ll receive plenty of attention, care, and affection

About: Hi there, we’re Lilac and Ariane. We are a young, enthusiastic couple who are reliable in animal care. Through having ownership of cats for the majority of our lives, including those with medical issues such as epilepsy, we have gained a myriad of skills which would be beneficial to our role as a carer for your pets. These include: resilience, patience and most importantly prioritising fun and safety. Neighbours, friends, and the general public have relied on us for years to walk, play, feed, and care for their dogs/cats, noting us as attentive and respectful carers, willing to solve specific needs that their pets might require. We’d love to meet your pets and provide them the best experience possible while their owner is unavailable! Currently, we work zero hour jobs allowing us an extensive amount of free time to dedicate to your pets. With a notice period of 3 days we can accommodate to your needs and make time for your animals. We prefer working within the hours of 7am-7pm but would be happy to make any changes if necessary! We don’t offer pet stays in our home currently. If temporarily using an owners home to care for their pets, we would ensure that we are aware of any potential dangers before being left alone with the animals in order to prioritise their safety. We intend to respect the space and maintain the environment as to not threaten the animals daily routines. We aim to build trust overtime, through a sense of familiarity, implementing calm direction and praise simultaneously.

About: Hey, I’m Jenna!🐾 An animal lover with a passion for caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities. I’ve been a dedicated sitter on Rover for a while and I’ve had the pleasure of looking after a wide variety of pups, from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs, each with their own quirks and needs. I have lots of experience with dogs who deal with anxiety and separation anxiety, so I know how to create a calm, comforting environment where they can feel secure. My goal is to ensure your dog feels happy, safe, and cared for while you're away, just like they would at home. - Can administer medication where needed. - Comfortable walking up to 2 dogs at one time. - Would love a meet-up beforehand to meet you & your dog, to ensure a plan that works for everyone. I currently work from home on weekdays. My job is relatively flexible to work around and I can try to work things to fit your schedule where possible. When in your pets home, I will aim to keep a general routine as close to normal for the dog. With fresh water available at all times and regular feeding. Whether caring for an older dog that would prefer shorter walks and more time to chill or the opposite! Lots of playtime, longer walks and enrichment. We’ll discuss regular feeding times and anything else you feel important to note to ensure your pets happiness.

About: I have over 12 years’ experience caring for my own four family dogs, so looking after pets really is second nature to me. I know every dog is different and I’m always happy to go at their pace, whether that’s a good long walk, a walk round the block, or just plenty of fuss and company while you’re away. I work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. They will always have company, attention and cuddles throughout the day. I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, relaxed and loved. Kate was absolutely fantastic, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She quickly built a wonderful bond with our cat, who can be fickle! She spent real quality time with him, and after we returned home, he was even waiting by the door at the time she usually visited, which says it all. Kate kept us updated with photos, videos and reassuring messages about his feeding, medication and how he was doing. Her communication was excellent and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear Kate genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.

About: I’ve been caring for pets for the past 3 years, with a special love and experience looking after cats when my friends were away. Back in Brazil, I had 4 cats and 2 sausage dogs who were part of my family, and I miss them every day, so it all started with friends letting me stay with their pets when I was homesick. This gave me valuable experience in feeding, playing, walking, and giving lots of love and attention to both cats and dogs. I always treat every animal as if they were my own, and I dare to stay that I also owned a seagull as I used to take care and feed (Beni) everyday 😂 all animals are special in my eyes. I work from home 3 days a week, which gives me plenty of time to stay in and play with dogs and follow a routine. Also available on weekends happy to care for your pet in your home, where they feel safe and relaxed. Happy to follow the schedule and rules they are used.

About: I am used to taking care of friends pets(dogs, cats, rabbits) when they are away over the years! I love doing so. Especially because I live in rented accommodation, so can no longer have one of my own. I currently work part time. Tuesdays to Fridays 9-4:30. I have plenty of time to spend with your lovely fur babies and am so looking forward to. I like going to the beach/in nature for swims and walks! I am happy working with your personal boundaries when it comes to looking after your pet. I know everyone cares for their pets slightly differently and would love to experience that.

We ended up arranging a dog sitting service last minute, but Samuel was so quick to respond that everything was easy to sort out. We came home to a happy and relaxed dog and we are very pleased to have found Samuel to help out at such short notice!

After a successful couple of meet & greets, Beth’s first one hour visit seemed to go well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take time to warm up to new people. Although she wasn’t brave enough to approach Beth that day, she was comfortable and relaxed enough to have a snooze while she was there. Which shows that she isn’t overly worried about Beth, who didn’t try to push things too fast and went at Sookie’s pace, allowing her to feel that relaxed she could close her eyes. Very happy with Beth and her knowledge of handling nervous dogs.

It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
