“Brilliant. Thank you so much for being surrogate to our lovely old lady. Taking on board and half blind half deaf dog without a break in your stride. So happy we found you. Thanks”

“Tegan is an exceptional cat-carer and I was delighted with her care for my 20-year-old cat, Charlotte, who clearly loved her visits. Tegan came to the house beforehand to discuss what was needed and visited while I was away for the weekend, giving Charlotte some company and affection, as well as feeding her and dealing with her litter tray. Tegan liaised brilliantly with me throughout, sending me reassuring photos and video of Charlotte and dealing efficiently with the unexpected - a small amount of cat sick on the carpet. I will definitely be asking Tegan if she can do this again - she provided excellent cat-care! Many thanks, Tegan!”

About: Your pet's wellbeing is my top priority. Love, care, and attention are at the forefront of everything I do. I've lived alongside animals since the day I was born - dogs, cats, rodents, chickens, even snakes and lizards. Safe to say, I'm an animal lover through and through. I have a wide range of pet sitting experience, from short visits to long-term and overnight stays. Having fostered for dog and cat rescues, I'm just as comfortable with nervous or reactive pets as I am with the friendliest of companions. I'm an active person who loves long walks, hikes, beach swims, and runs but I'm just as happy curled up in the garden with a book, keeping your pet company. I am currently in between roles, therefore right now, I have full flexibility during the week and at weekends, with no fixed commitments. My partner Ryan and I spend a lot of time outdoors, at local parks or the beach, with plenty of walks, fresh air, and exercise built naturally into our routine. Evenings are more relaxed, settling in front of the TV or spending time in the garden, so your pet would get a good balance of activity and calm, quiet company throughout the day. Whether in my own home or the pet owner's, my approach is the same: to stick to your pet's existing routine - keeping to established feeding times, walk schedules, medication, and bedtime routines as instructed - to avoid disruption. At my home, I can offer a safe, secure space with a fully fenced garden, ideal for supervised outdoor time/play. I'm an advocate of safe crate training, therefore if a crate is provided, I'll maintain the same routine your pet is already used to at home. Throughout any sit, I'm happy to send regular updates and photos so you can check in and have peace of mind.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have years of experience caring for my family’s pets through house sitting, daily walks, feeding, and companionship. I’m confident with dogs of different personalities and truly love making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for :) Because I mainly work evening and night shifts at a bar, I’m available throughout most days for walks, check-ins, feeding, and playtime. This means I can offer lunchtime and afternoon visits, as well as evening and morning walks. On my days off I’m also available for overnight care. My schedule changes weekly, but I’m flexible and happy to arrange specific days as needed. Because I live in a small flat, I focus mainly on caring for pets in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable. I stick closely to their normal routines with feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. I’m respectful of owners’ homes and always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for. My flat is fully set up for cats if home boarding is ever needed.
“Anoushka was great! Quick to respond and set something up with us at short notice, then incredibly helpful with our 6 month old puppy Stevie. We will definitely be repeat customers!”

I have experience training and caring for all types of breeds, and have travelled round the country so have experience and flexibility to environments and owners needs. AJ - I'm from Cornwall, and have grown up surrounded by animals too. I had a beautiful boxer growing up who helped encourage my energetic and playful personality. I also currently work at Sealife Brighton! So I am working everyday hands on with all sorts of animals, my favourite at work however are the black tip reef sharks. I am currently working part time and freelance, so I am very flexible to any employers needs. I can do early morning walks or overnight work. I am a calm and colourful individual able to alter my care for each animals need. I have a pet friendly property, a one bed, spacious, basement flat with a enclosed outdoor space for easy accessibility. Living in central Brighton making spots such as queens park a 10 minute walk whilst being in an easy accessible spot.
“Maud had a wonderful afternoon with Valentina walking up on the downs with some doggy pals. This was Maud’s first dog walk without us since she was adopted and she loved it! We are going to have to up our walking game because this was brilliant!”

“Enya looked after my puppy for a couple of hours and the puppy had a lovely time playing, snoozing, playing and snoozing! I felt very assured Lumi was in a safe pair of hands. Will definitely be booking Enya again, thank you so much!”

“Jaz helped us out with a couple of one-hour visits when we were away for the day. Our cat Fizz is comfortable in her company and seems relaxed and happy now that we're back home. Jaz followed feeding and play instructions and sent loads of photos and videos. Highly recommended!”

“Balbina did a great job of caring for our two cats while we were away for Christmas and even helped with watering some of our plants. She is very friendly and attentive and I think the cats were relaxed with her. I would happily ask Balbina to help us again in the future :)”

About: I grew up on a farm constantly surrounded by lots of animals, especially dogs where I had to care for up to 16 in our farms kennels! I love the company of animals and the joy they bring whilst giving them good quality care. I have a part time job therefore I am quite flexible to care and walk your adorable pet. I’m happy to accommodate to yours and your dogs needs! I also have a car so I can take your pet on longer walks if they are high energy. I often like going to devils dyke and the Seven Sisters on walks! I have a pretty flexible schedule as I have a small part time job therefore having a lot of free time to engage in different activities and opportunities aswell as accommodate yours and your pets needs! I can feed, walk and give your pet company as and when you need. I have a safe environment and lots of parks nearby to take your pet on lovely walks and to play. I can be a companion for your pet or take care of them at home whilst you are busy!

About: Growing up in the welsh countryside I have always been around animals. We had cats and jack russell terriers when I was young, and later on I helped out on a farm with horses and working collies. This love for animals carried on as I got older and I started walking neighbours dogs (bull mastiffs) for free and cat sitting for friends when they went away. Post Uni I started helping out locally with dog walking through borrow my doggy. I ended up house sitting for one of my customer’s houses a few times to look after their dog while they were on holiday (the lovely Vizsla in my photos). More recently I volunteered for German Shepherd Rescue Elite in Nottingham as shepherds and Malis are my personal favourite, so now have a fair range of experience with larger breeds and some reactivity issues. I really loved both the rescue and my regular borrow my doggy connections and would have carried on however, I have moved to Brighton and the commute would’ve been a bit tough! I have two cats now and I am calm and responsible and will always treat your animals as if they are my own and will send regular updates so you know how things are going! Really looking forward to making some new animal friends, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, always happy to chat to make sure you are confident with who you are entrusting to look after your family member! I’m in the office generally Tuesdays and Wednesdays and work from home the rest of the week so am available for walking/drop ins after work (4:30pm onwards) on most weekdays. I can do some morning visits on days I’m not in the office and any time on most weekends - just ask and I’ll let you know if I can fit it in! We have no garden and two cats at home so having other pets in our flat would not be an option however, I am more than happy to look after your pets in your own home during the working day if I am able to borrow your wifi to work from home at the same time!
About: I love animals and am an experienced cat and dog sitter that will treat your pet like part of my family when you are away, hosting them in my cosy and safe house and garden as the only guest. Please note: I have a gentle but curious *2 year old toddler*, so your pet must be ok with young children! I have lived with cats and dogs for the last 20 years, and also looked after a range of other pets including fish, hamsters, rabbits and turtles, taking responsibility for walkies, feeding, washing, administering medications and lots and lots of petting. I am a soft and cuddly person with animals, but will also respect their personal space if they want to be left alone. I work from home 4 days a week while my toddler is at nursery, so would be able to look after your pet in a quiet environment and do morning, lunchtime and evening walks. I can also do drop in visits/walkies either during the day or with my toddler in the carrier. For hosting, your pet needs to be ok with young children. I am very relaxed with pets in my home, happy for them to sit on the sofa or lie in bed with me, but also happy to settle them in a crate or in their bed if that is what they are used to. I will take them out for walks on the lead, to a local enclosed doggy park where they can be off lead, and can also visit your home for walkies and petting breaks. I have wide availability so can look after your pet at any time you need, including drop in visits and walkies. I work from home and my baby is at nursery Mon-Thursday, so your pet will have my full attention during the day. I have a fenced garden and live with just my toddler, and with no other pets. Your pet will have my undivided love and attention! I'm happy to have your pet on any of my furniture, or to keep the same rules the you have at home. If they sleep in a crete or outside the bedroom, I have a safe, warm and peaceful space for them to stay, including a cosy sofa or spare guest bed.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats in my family for many years now and love how they make a house a home. I’m always the first one to help walk, feed or give loving cuddles to neighbors animals making sure they have the company they need. I love walking and being outside and would love look after a dog and give it a lovely day out if needed. I look after my family’s dog Dylan and take him on beautiful long walks. He been with us for 7 years now and love keeping him company in the days when there’s no one home I’m currently part time dancer artist and I also work in a coffee shop so my time is super flexible. I’m always out walking so can help with walking your dog. I am free most days, all day I do not have any pets in the home I live in at the moment so can bring your pet back to mine without the worry of another animal
“Absolutely incredible cat sitter ⭐ Mariam looked after my cat for a week while I was on holiday. She looked after my little princess and sent me loads of photos and a detailed Rover Card each day which really put my mind at rest while I was away. I came back to a well respected home and a very happy kitty!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire, nearly 30 years of life, and have experience with various breeds, ages and temperaments. I hope to one day have my own but until then I would love to hang out with & look after yours! Whether that be keeping them company while you're away, taking them on their daily walks or dropping in to make sure they're fed and watered. I recently left my full time job so I am available pretty much all day every day! I am actively job-seeking so I can’t currently commit to repeat / weekly / long term care! Apologies! I understand things can be relatively last minute! So whatever time / day works best for you generally works for me too! I live with my boyfriend who loves to get equally fully involved with any dog in our care! My Home: No garden but a peaceful and spacious flat with a balcony that is a 3 minute walk from St. Ann’s Well gardens, 4 minutes from Hove Lawns and the seafront and 15 minutes from Dyke Road Park/Hove Green. Currently no car but 30 seconds from Western Road bus stops or 12 minute walk from the station if travel is ever required for a bigger walk in Preston or Stanmer Park!
About: I’ve dog sat my whole life for friends/family etc, I have my own little rescue pup called Ted who’s an amazing boy and I’m sure he’d love to have some new friends as much as I would! It’s a daily occurrence as I’m responsible for the care and raising of my own little pup so I have a good amount of time to dedicate to the care of other dogs! As I have my own little pup who’s a frenchie I have very strict house rules when it comes to the safety of Ted. I want to ensure Ted has a safe, clean and tidy environment to play and live in, whether I’m with him or not. I carry out daily checks to make sure the floors are clean and tidy etc. This is also a non drinking, non smoking and drug free household! It’s also very quiet where I live so Ted has no issues when it comes to him getting the peace and quiet he needs. So all in all, this a dog friendly home with access to the beach and local dog parks and gardens within a 5 to 10 minute walk!
About: I grew up with cats and dogs at home, where my days were regularly spent walking the dogs, cuddling up on the sofa or sharing my bed with a furry friend or two. I regularly house sit for my sister who has three Cocker Spaniels, taking them for beach or woodland walks and giving them lots of snuggles and love. I'm always conscious of not leaving pets alone at home for too long and understand that some are unable to be left alone due to their separation anxiety. I have also house sat for a couple via Trusted Housesitters, looking after their Jug (Jack Russell x Pug) for four days in their flat. On top of that, I work for a dog charity and occassionally foster pups that we are trying to rehome. I live in a pet and child-free flat in Seven Dials, Brighton. We don't have a garden however we have an enclosed shared patio for my apartment building and I live walking distance to various green spaces including St Ann's Well Gardens, Hove Park and Preston Park. I'm also a 20 minute walk to the beach. I work in marketing and my office in Seven Dials 5 minutes from my flat. I do a mix of office and work from home and have some flexibility, so if there is ever a week day in my calendar where I’m unavailable you can still reach out as I may occasionally able to move my days around. Working from home means I have plenty of time to give a pet lots of love, cuddles, as well as take them out regularly for toilet breaks and walks. I live in a spacious three bedroom flat which pets will be allowed to roam freely. I have no issues with pets sleeping in a bed within my room, on my bed or on the furniture. If needed, I can keep dogs enclosed in the kitchen whenever I am out of the house. I am happy to follow individual owner's rules when in their home to ensure their pet's routine is maintained. I don't have any pets and won't accept more than one pet owner at a time so you can feel reassured that your pet(s) would have my undivided attention.
About: It's the classic line of "I have always loved animals"... but it is true, both dogs and cats and many more! Although I do have a soft spot for cats… Having grown up with a cat myself, I know what it takes to care for a pet and give them all the love and attention they require. Providing that care is something I am able to do with ease. Over the years I have looked after and walked a big variety of dogs, both big and small, giving them all the love and cuddles possible. Some of these dogs were simply neighbours dogs who needed a walk or joining friends on dog walks. I also regularly took part in the University of Sussex dog walking society, taking dogs out for a few hours in the beautiful scenes of the South Downs. I work full time but have evenings and weekends available. I’m also very active, walking and running so getting to your home will not be a problem I have a fenced garden so dogs are able to play in a safe and enclosed environment. I am also a 5minute walk from the beach!

Eleanor is fantastic with our cocker spaniel, really reliable, friendly, professional and sends updates / gives peace of mind. Alfie loves her and she’s been great at adjusting the visits for walks to playing/ enrichment based on the weather / what Alfie needs. Would definitely recommend :)

Kendall is a fabulous dog sitter 🌟 It was our first time leaving our dog with anyone and Kendall made us feel so comfortable, with getting to know us before & sending us updates throughout the visit. We can tell Ozzy had a lovely time with Kendall (and misses her already!) Our dog has a very specific routine that Kendall stuck to to make him comfortable. We would definitely recommend Kendall & will book with her again in the future 🤗

Johanna’s first two one hour visits with Sookie went really well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take a bit of time to warm up to new people. But with Johanna, she seemed to get very comfortable very quickly. Approaching her, choosing to lie near her, and having a snooze. And then on the second visit she put her head on her legs! Johanna has taken things at Sookie’s pace and my dog has quickly felt safe and happy with her.

After a successful couple of meet & greets, Beth’s first one hour visit seemed to go well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take time to warm up to new people. Although she wasn’t brave enough to approach Beth that day, she was comfortable and relaxed enough to have a snooze while she was there. Which shows that she isn’t overly worried about Beth, who didn’t try to push things too fast and went at Sookie’s pace, allowing her to feel that relaxed she could close her eyes. Very happy with Beth and her knowledge of handling nervous dogs.

We have been repeat customers for Eli and we are very happy with her. Our dogs love her. Eli is very reliable and trustworthy. She understands our dogs needs and is flexible around their needs. We highly recommend Eli and will definitely book her again. Thanks Eli!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
