About: Hi there! My name is Ellen and I'm originally from Australia! I'm missing my dog back home and would love the opportunity to care for your dogs! I've owned dogs throughout my life and have experience petsitting for neighbours and family friends. Our family got our first dog when I was 7 and he lived for 14 years in our care. This has given me experience caring for dogs of all ages. My family recently got a puppy, so I also know how to care for a puppy still learning the basics of obedience. I am more than willing to look after puppies, adult dogs and senior dogs. I'm happy to do home visits, dog walks and dog sit overnight. I'll give your dog plenty of love and cuddles. I unfortunately cannot look after your dog in my place, but am willing to travel to your home to give your dog the best care possible. I'm missing my dog at home and would love to care for your dog when you need someone reliable. Please get in touch if you're interested in my services in the Brighton area. I am currently engaged in full-time work, so I have good availability on weeknights and all day on weekends. I am more than willing to accept last minute bookings. Please note, that I work in office Mondays and Tuesdays every week. This means that I cannot petsit during working hours on those days. I cannot currently care for pets in my own home. I am willing to adapt to the pet owner's home based on what they have already established with their pet (e.g. allowed outside at certain times).
About: I am a lifelong animal lover and have grown up around pets — both cats and dogs. I'm vegan and genuinely care deeply about animal wellbeing. Recently, I looked after my sister-in-law’s small, nervous dog for three weeks, including supporting crate training and settling into a calm routine, which we absolutely loved. That experience is what inspired me to join Rover. I'm patient, attentive, and committed to giving every pet a safe, relaxed, and caring experience. I currently work from home, which means I’m around during the day to look after furry pals, including short walks or check-ins at lunch. I’m also available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding during the evenings in the week. At weekends I’m very flexible and, when free, would love to spend time with pets then too. This flexibility means I can fit pet care naturally into my daily routine and give animals plenty of attention rather than rushing visits. I live in a one-bedroom flat with laminate floors and a small fenced garden. I work from home, so I can keep an eye on your furry friend throughout the day and give them all the attention they need — whether that’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or even some late-night Netflix binging together! I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routines to make sure they feel comfortable and at home.
“Samantha was great with Elsa (Cat). We really felt at ease knowing that she was well looked after. Elsa takes time before feeling comfortable with people shendoesnt know however, with Samantha that wasn’t an issue. Communication was provided daily and Samantha attended when she said she would. Would highly recommend Samantha as a pet sitter and if available would use her again :) Thanks Samantha.”

“Tegan is an exceptional cat-carer and I was delighted with her care for my 20-year-old cat, Charlotte, who clearly loved her visits. Tegan came to the house beforehand to discuss what was needed and visited while I was away for the weekend, giving Charlotte some company and affection, as well as feeding her and dealing with her litter tray. Tegan liaised brilliantly with me throughout, sending me reassuring photos and video of Charlotte and dealing efficiently with the unexpected - a small amount of cat sick on the carpet. I will definitely be asking Tegan if she can do this again - she provided excellent cat-care! Many thanks, Tegan!”

About: I’ve always lived with cats since I was a kid. I was on trusted Housesitters for a couple of years and looked after many dogs and cats. I frequently look after my friends dogs and cats when they go on holiday. I work from home so can work from pet owners homes. I have quite a bit of flexibility in my working day so can take dogs out for walks in the morning, lunch time or evening. I can accommodate your pets in your home in what ever way they need whether that be taking them for walks or letting them out into the garden.
About: Having grown up with 2 dogs and over 5 years experience dog and cat sitting with long term stays and regular dog walks. I have a lot of knowledge and a lot of love to give. I am working from home and I am really active so enjoy to walk a lot around the city and on the beach. I enjoy exploring new areas and walking in the downs. I am working remote so I am really available to make sure the animal is safe at my home and doesn’t feel lonely. I can also manage my planning to come and visit your home at any time that is necessary.
“Thank you so much for the cats feeding and looking after it meant so much to me and the cleaning out of the world. If I could do, it’s 11 out of 10 super.🙌🙌👍👍”

“Anoushka was great! Quick to respond and set something up with us at short notice, then incredibly helpful with our 6 month old puppy Stevie. We will definitely be repeat customers!”

“Amanda took such good care of our two cats (who are not used to being by themselves for multiple days). She seems to have a magical calming energy, that even our scared one came out eventually to get to know her (instead of hiding forever)! We absolutely loved the photo updates and felt reassured that our fur babies were in good hands.”

“Maud had a wonderful afternoon with Valentina walking up on the downs with some doggy pals. This was Maud’s first dog walk without us since she was adopted and she loved it! We are going to have to up our walking game because this was brilliant!”

“I booked Toni quite last minute for the bank holiday and couldn't be happier. She was great with my big reactive dog, kept her safe on her walk and sent pictures to update. Will defo be using her again :)”

About: As an experienced pet sitter and dog walker, I bring a genuine love for animals and a deep understanding of their individual needs. I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my entire life, and now share my own home with two dogs, so I understand just how much our pets mean to us - they’re family. Over the years, I’ve gained particular experience caring for dogs with anxiety, nervous temperaments and difficult pasts. I offer calm, patient companionship and aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible, helping them feel safe, secure and settled while their people are away. I was also completely horse obsessed growing up, so animals have always been a huge part of my life! I now have two dogs of my own: Maggie, a 6-year-old American Bulldog, and Peggy, a 5-year-old French Bulldog. They are the absolute loves of my life. A little about Maggie… Maggie came into my life when she was just 9 weeks old, after being rescued from a puppy farm. She arrived riddled with fleas, full of worms and absolutely terrified. She was so frightened that, for the first three weeks, she wouldn’t even eat. It took a lot of patience, consistency and trust-building. I began hand-feeding her until she felt safe and strong enough to eat independently. Slowly, day by day, she began to realise that she was safe. Fast-forward six years, and Maggie absolutely loves life. She adores other dogs and is a happy, loving girl. She still has moments when her anxiety gets the better of her, but together we’ve learned how to support her through those moments. This experience taught me so much about caring for anxious, rescued and sensitive dogs. It taught me the importance of patience, understanding and allowing animals to build trust at their own pace. Most importantly, it taught me how much of a difference we can make simply by being a calm and consistent safe haven for an animal who needs one. Being Maggie’s mum has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Seeing her grow into the happy dog she is today makes me incredibly proud, and anxious dogs will always hold a particularly special place in my heart because of her. I’m very adaptable and happy to work around your pet’s individual needs and routine. I understand that every dog is different, and I’m always happy to discuss any specific requirements, behaviours, anxieties or routines before a booking. I’m also confident administering medication, including oral medication such as pain relief, as well as eye drops and ear drops. If your pet has any other specific needs, please just let me know so we can discuss how I can best support them. I’ll follow their usual feeding, medication and rest routines as closely as possible, helping their day feel familiar and stress-free. Throughout the booking, I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe and being well cared for. Whether you have a playful puppy, an energetic adventurer, a nervous rescue or a senior companion, I’ll take the time to get to know them as an individual and care for them with the same patience, respect and love I would want for my own pets. My schedule is completely flexible, which means I can be there when you need me - whether that’s for regular walks, drop-in visits, daycare or overnight stays in your home. I am not currently offering boarding in my own home due to my dog recently having surgery. However I am available for pet sitting in your home.
“Absolutely incredible cat sitter ⭐ Mariam looked after my cat for a week while I was on holiday. She looked after my little princess and sent me loads of photos and a detailed Rover Card each day which really put my mind at rest while I was away. I came back to a well respected home and a very happy kitty!”

About: The biggest lover of dogs, professional cuddler and experienced with lots of breeds and ages! Whether your doggo has endless energy and needs huge walks and 4 hours of tug of war, or your elderly pup needs some gentle cuddles and a slow walk around the block, I’m there! Previous experience in looking after small and large breeds, shy and aggressive dogs, puppies and older dogs needing medication. I always customise my walks or stays based on what your dog likes best - whether that’s favourite walk routes, daily routines or how they like their treats served, every dog is different and I’m happy to adapt to their needs! I work mostly from home (3 days a week, on flexible days), and balance my work schedule around your dog walk and dog sitting needs. I’m also available weekends and evenings! I follow your guidance on how best to care for your pooch. As much information as you can give me beforehand helps to ensure minimal disruption for your dog, so we can stick as close as possible to their favourite routines!
“Sofía looked after my cat when I was away on a short trip, and I’m very happy with her service. She responded quickly to the booking, came over beforehand to check on everything, and was warm and loving to Nnedi. Can definitely recommend, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again. Thanks Sofia!”

About: Hi there! I’m an IT professional currently studying and working from home in Brighton. Because I spend most of my days at my desk, I have a very flexible schedule, plenty of time for companionship, and I’m always eager for a refreshing walk break! My Story & Experience with Pets Growing up, animals were always a natural part of my life. I spent every summer at my grandmother’s countryside home surrounded by dogs and cats, which taught me from a young age how to read animal body language and care for them with patience and love. Over the years, I’ve had experience with various breeds and personalities: Personal Pet Parent: I previously owned two rescued mixed-breed dogs (a Dachshund mix and a Boxer mix, giving me a huge soft spot for both breeds and active pups). Co-living with Pets: While living in Oslo for 6 years, I shared an apartment with a Keeshond named Dibs. We went on daily walks to nearby parks and forests, so I’m very familiar with the day to day routine, grooming, and habits of living with a furry roommate. Trusted Dog Sitter: I regularly looked after my childhood friend’s Italian Scent Hound/Segugio Italiano (Samba), taking care of her during long weekends and extended stays. At this stage in my life, I'm not able to commit to a pet of my own, which is why Rover is the perfect fit for me. I truly miss having a dog around, and I’d love to shower yours with attention! Why Choose Me? 100% Remote & Focused: Studying from home means your pet won't be left alone. I'm responsible, well-organized, and my routine allows for lots playtime, and companionship next to my desk. Outdoor Enthusiast: I love hiking, long walks, and spending time in nature. Whether it's a brisk walk along the Brighton seafront or a relaxed stroll through Preston Park, I tailor our walks to your dog’s age, energy level, and preferences. Daily Updates: You’ll receive regular photo and video updates throughout the day so you always know your pet is happy, safe and well cared for. Respect for Your Rules: I always strictly respect your home rules, feeding schedules, training habits and any specific medication routines. I’d love to meet you and your pup for a quick Meet & Greet to see if we’re a great match! As a person who studying and working remotely from home, my routine is extremely flexible and predictable. Since I spend most of my day at my desk, pet care fits into my daily schedule rather than being squeezed in around fixed office hours. I take regular, refreshing walking breaks throughout the day along the Brighton seafront or in local parks like Preston Park. Your dog won't be left alone for long, and they'll have companionship while I work. Being remote means I can relocate my workspace to your home, keeping your pets in their familiar environment with 24/7 presence, quiet company, and dedicated care. Safety, clear communication, and respect for your home are my top priorities. I ensure a safe and stress free environment for every pet. I suggest a quick Meet & Greet beforehand to get to know you and your pet, go over their personality, and house rules to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I strictly follow your exact feeding schedules, dietary restrictions, medication needs and behavioral training habits. In your home, I treat your space with complete respect, leaving it as clean and tidy as I found it. Dogs are kept securely on leads during walks unless we are in a fully fenced area and you’ve given explicit permission. I send regular, high-quality photos and video updates throughout the stay or visit so you always have total peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well-cared for.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - Brighton
Leona was a wonderful sitter to our cat Boots and went above and beyond to make sure he was okay after he managed to find his way out the of the house through a window we’d left cracked open, even to the point of popping in extra times and going over late at night when our neighbour messaged to say that he had escaped. She made sure that he got back safely and communicated everything to us, really putting our minds at ease so we could carry on enjoying our holiday. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Leona again, thank you so much for your time and for going out of your way for our mischievous boy!
Absolutely amazing! Sent detailed updates and lots of photos each drop in visit. Samantha even spent time playing with her too. Felt at peace on holiday knowing our cat was being well looked after. Would 100% trust her to look after our cat again. Deffo recommend!

We were really happy with the care our dog, Lina received from Lana. Lana was able to look after our dog in our own home which meant that they could stay in familiar surroundings. Lana took Lina for a walk around the neighbourhood and seemed very happy when we returned. We would happily recommend Lana to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter and we would be happy to have Lana look after Lina again.
Tegan has been amazing! We had a first visit for JiJi to meet her a couple of weeks before our holiday and Tegan instantly put our slightly anxious minds at ease, she clearly loves animals. Her care for JiJi while we were away was top notch, we had communication daily with photos and videos and we were so pleased to see how quickly JiJi took to her and was coming up for some affection and strokes. Tegan took care of feeding and water, clearing the litter tray and playtime and was really vigilant with keeping an eye on what and how much our cat was eating, as he can be a bit fussy! We came home to a happy cat and wouldn’t hesitate to book Tegan again to look after JiJi.

Excellent all round. Balbina is obviously very good with animals because she forged an immediate connection with our not always overly-friendly cat when she came to collect the keys. She was communicative, reliable and a pleasure to deal with but, most of all, she took the time to make sure the cat was happy. She provided plenty of photos and clips of a very happy cat being stroked and petted. It's reassuring to know that your treasured family member is being cared for by someone who loves animals as much as you. Highly recommended.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
