Martine and Teresa were absolutely great start to finish. They replied to our initial request very quickly and were able to drop round for a chat the same day. They were both very friendly and evident animal lovers which gave us great confidence in them. They sent frequent pictures while we were away and gave updates about what our cat Ollie was up to. Highly recommend and would be happy to book again.

About: I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had a cocker spaniel called Pickles who was a huge part of my life for 15 years, and I've also cared for guinea pigs and hamsters over the years. These days, I'm a very proud cat mum to my rescue kitty, Winnie. Being around animals genuinely makes me happy. I always take the time to get to know each pet's personality and what makes them feel comfortable, whether that's a game, a cuddle, or simply giving them their own space. I'm patient, gentle, and attentive, and I always put their wellbeing first. I joined Rover because I love spending time with animals and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for them. I'll treat your pet with the same kindness, attention, and care that I give my own, so you can relax knowing they're in safe hands while you're away :) <3 I’m a content writer in the travel industry, which gives me the flexibility to offer dependable, consistent care for your pets. I’m based in Southwater and work in Horsham town centre, spending three days a week in the office and working from home on Tuesdays and Fridays. This setup means I’m especially available and flexible on my WFH days—and happy to tailor my schedule to suit your pet’s routine. Whether you prefer regular drop-ins, walks, or even someone to work from your home while keeping your pet company, I’m open to making it work. Being local also allows me to offer visits during the week and weekends as needed. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are always my top priorities. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I strive to create a calm, familiar environment where they feel secure and relaxed. I take the time to understand each animal’s personality, preferences, and routine—whether they need active play, quiet companionship, or simply someone nearby to help them feel at ease. With a lifelong love for animals and experience across a variety of species, I’m highly attentive to their moods and body language. I notice the small things and respond with gentle, thoughtful care. I’m respectful of your space, follow instructions closely, and always aim to maintain your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible. You can count on me to be reliable, trustworthy, and communicative, providing regular updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands.

About: My mum and I have lived with dogs and cats are whole lives. We have a sausage dog named Charlie who is the beloved baby of the family. We also have two cats: Lola and Leo. Charlie and the cats gets along wonderfully with small dogs- the more little doggos around, the merrier! We provide a calm, cozy, and pet-friendly environment where your dog will be treated like family. My mum and I both work from home, so there will always be someone around to give your dog attention, playtime, and regular toilet breaks. I’ll be starting my Master’s program in September, but she’ll be happily continuing with dog sitting while I study. Our fenced garden offers a safe space for outdoor time, and Charlie enjoys popping in and out through the cat flap. I’ll be home everyday to take the dogs for walks if desired and give them plenty of playtime and cuddles. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll follow your routines closely to help your dog feel comfortable and secure. I treat every home and pet with the same respect and care I would want for my own.

About: The companionship of animals has always been part of my life. Growing up in the countryside our dogs, Kimmy & Lady - Rough Collies & Tramps a Lab/Alsatain cross were apart everyday life and my best friends. For the last five years I've regularly looked after friends' dogs, so I have become accustom to the different rhythms a dog can have, the ones who want a good long walk to settle, the ones who just want you near, the ones who take a little longer to trust a new face and the ones who don't. There's a particular kind of trust that builds slowly over time with an older animal too, a language of small signals, and a practice of paying real attention, which one learns to read. I've also shared my home with cats for most of my adult years, two of whom lived a good life all the way to 21 and 23, so I'm well practiced with the needs of aging pets generally, not just dogs. Right now I share my home with a 12 year old moggie/Norwegian Forest cat, who came to me as a rescue at six and settled beautifully once he felt safe. So I know what it is to live alongside family pets who have their own mind, their own rhythm, and their own way of letting you in. Whether it's a puppy full of energy or an old soul who moves a little slower these days, I meet each animal as they are. No rushing, no forcing, just quiet attentiveness and the kind of care I'd want for my own. If you're picturing your dog settled, unbothered, still themselves while you're away that's exactly what I'm here to give them. I am a self employed sound and movement coach and manage my own appointments & sessions accordingly, so bookings vary from day to day and at various times throughout the day.I also deliver my services online so can be at home so variety, flexibility is why looking after pets works in synergy with what I do, . I find out as much as possible about your pets likes & dislikes, habits and the things you know work well. I'm there to make sure that your home and pet is cared for as if you were there, so keeping things as normal and familiar as possible. favorite toys, sleeping & eating patterns. Discipline & routines eg, re allowed or not on furniture, sit & wait before receiving food. no begging or tip bits, etc.

About: My kitten of 18 years passed away last year, so I now have an empty nest. I know from experience how hard it is to find someone you trust to leave your baby with when you need to go away, so I'm offering a home from home for your pet. I have experience in giving all types of medication, and understanding different behaviours... and most important of all, your pet will be welcome up on the couch for cuddles. I am home all day so they will not be left alone, and can send you updates and photos as often as you wish :) I work from home, so your pet will have my attention whenever they want or need. This also means I can fit in any feeding or medication schedual. I will also be free to contact any time. I am home all day, so your baby will not be left alone... unless that's their thing! If they're young and want play time, I'll be there to play... or if they're a bit older and just want to lay on the couch and get stroked I can do that too :)

About: I've been around dogs for most of my life and genuinely love spending time with them. Growing up, I had a family dog, which gave me a strong understanding of the care, attention, and exercise dogs need. I regularly look after my sister's Golden Retriever, so I'm experienced with larger breeds and their daily routines. I've also provided dog sitting and dog walking for several owners through BorrowMyDoggy, caring for dogs with different personalities, sizes, and energy levels. I'm currently on the waitlist for a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, so I've been continuing to learn about training, enrichment, and responsible dog ownership while I prepare to welcome my own dog. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and care while they're with me. I’m currently not working so have plenty of time to care for your pet, I’m active and like be outside so would love to take your dog on a walk or run with me! Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn about each pet's routine, personality, and any specific needs before providing care, so I can keep their experience as familiar and stress-free as possible. In your home, I'll respect your pet's usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if required), and any house rules you've set. I'll also make sure your home is left clean, tidy, and secure. If caring for pets in my home, I'll provide a safe, clean, and calm environment where they can relax and feel at home. Pets will always have fresh water, plenty of attention, regular toilet breaks, exercise, and lots of affection. I never leave pets unsupervised for longer than necessary and always ensure they're secure on walks using the lead and equipment you're comfortable with. Communication is important to me, so I'll keep you updated with regular messages and photos, giving you peace of mind while you're away.

About: From growing up with two yellow labs to caring for a gentle Bull Mastiff needing palliative care, dogs have always been family to me. I truly love giving each dog heartfelt attention—whether it’s playful walks with a lively pup or comforting snuggles for seniors. I always stop to greet dogs I meet because they bring me so much joy. Your dog’s happiness, comfort, and feeling loved is my top priority, every single time. I currently work full time (08:30–16:30, Monday–Friday), so I’m available to look after your dog before work, after work, on weekends, and during school holidays and half terms. In those moments, giving dogs love, attention, and companionship becomes the best part of my day! I always treat a pet owner’s home with the same respect and care I’d give my own. I keep things tidy, stick closely to your dog’s routine, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and never lonely. Whether it’s gentle cuddles, playtime, a walk, or quiet company, I adapt to what each dog needs most — so they feel completely at ease until you’re back.

About: I'm Eva... a fun-loving, outgoing and bubbly individual who enjoys being outside in nature! I have been housesitting / petsitting for private owners for around 10 years. I am passionate about all animals… but dogs & cats are my speciality! I grew up with lots of pets - ranging from dogs, cats, tortoises, fish and chickens! In addition to the above, I do have a small amount of experience for caring for more unique pets such as chickens, pigs, horses and goats. My previous job roles within the animal industry include Dog Day Care Assistant and Trainer, Operations Assistant at one of the largest dog day care centres in Surrey and was also a Receptionist at my local vets in Horsham. I have also volunteered at Shoreham Dogs Trust in previous years too, with cleaning kennels and walking. I have been fortunate enough to build a long lasting relationships with my previous clients, often house / petsitting for several years or multiple times a year. I pride myself on providing a professional and reliable service, where I will look after your pets and home the exact same way you would. I am now currently employed full-time. Therefore my working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday during the week only. Please send me a message with what you are looking for care wise, and we can look to see what works. When I’m staying at an owners house - I like to ensure I’m fully equipped with any information about the safety of the property i.e any locks / gates/ outdoor space. As well as where the pet needs to be fed, bathed or the area that they sleep best in. I view animals like people - they all have different personalities / likes and dislikes and I’ll treat your pet in the exact same way you would at your own home. It’s super important for them to feel as comfortable and happy as possible! I will always be honest and inform you of any issues or challenges that potentially arise - without causing fear or worry.

About: I come from a large family that has always had both cats and dogs, and it was a requirement that everyone in the family help out, but I always found myself drawn to be the one who took care of the dogs. This has continued to be true and whenever friends or family needs a dog sitter I'm the first to volunteer. I have experience with walking dogs on many different types of leads and collar/harness'. I also have experience with crate training dogs. I've currently taken a sabbatical from working in childcare to work on my book. This gives me lots of time to play with dogs and cats, and doing so will keep my enthusiasm high. I have experienced multiple different dog training programs over the years and one thing I've learnt is that all dogs have their own unique foibles that have to be catered for. At the same time all dogs that I've met are always happiest when kept within a routine that they can recognise. This is why I will always be willing to hear how you care for your dog so that I can ensure that they are as happy as possible. Whether that simply means ensuring a certain blanket is always visible or having a particular treat at a special moment.

We would definitely recommend Martine and Teresa to anyone looking for a reliable cat sitter. We went away for the weekend, and they took wonderful care of our young cat, Muffin. Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
