Ellen took great care of Bailey and was also kind enough to stay longer than scheduled as I experienced delays in returning home- due to travel disruption. I can’t thank her enough and I’ll be booking her again.

Jordan was a great sitter for our boxer Woody. He is really great at communicating and was ready to meet us before the sit without any problems at all. He sent several photos of our dog during the stay bc and kept us up to date on a daily basis without us asking for it. We would really recomend Jordan for anyone who wants a friendly and reliable dog sitter.

Neve was amazing. I was so nervous leaving Scar for the first time as he is a very needy and playful cat who needs a lot of attention. Neve updated me regularly with lovely photos and messages about their day. Neve was originally booked in from 8:30 am but very kindly came at 6:30am as I was leaving for my trip early. I didn’t ask Neve to do this but I feel she knew how nervous I was and she came before I left for my trip which made me feel a whole lot better that scar had her there. She went above and beyond for scar and when I came back from my trip Scar was very happy and content. I can’t thank Neve enough.

About: Experienced dog sitter! I have looked after and been responsible for a wide range of dogs, all with different needs, requirements and temperaments. I understand this animal and their behaviour, feeding and toilet routines. I’m also a good listener and will respond to any advice given, and remember any information on feeding or toilet requirements (or anything else you might inform me on) I also understand the importance of a home being looked after. I worked as a part-time nanny during my studies and have fulfilled many babysitting duties before. I’ve also been booked for a week long house sit before, so I’ve been trusted many times with peoples homes. I work from home, so I have flexible hours. However weekends and evenings are preferable. Please just get in touch and we can discuss schedule further. It really depends on your dogs needs :) I have a garden in which I can let your pet out into frequently, my house is safe and pet friendly. I also live walking distance to nearby parks and own a car in which I can drive your pet if necessary.

We felt at ease that Tara was well-looked-after and had a good time as well. Thank you Jennifer!

About: I’ve always lived with cats since I was a kid. I was on trusted Housesitters for a couple of years and looked after many dogs and cats. I frequently look after my friends dogs and cats when they go on holiday. I work from home so can work from pet owners homes. I have quite a bit of flexibility in my working day so can take dogs out for walks in the morning, lunch time or evening. I can accommodate your pets in your home in what ever way they need whether that be taking them for walks or letting them out into the garden.

Evie took perfect care of our home and Labrador Peggy while we were away for a week. It's always a little daunting to leave the things you care most about in someone else's hands but meeting Evie was reassuring. While we were away she sent us updates and photos so we could see how relaxed and happy Peggy was with her. We were able to enjoy our holiday knowing our home and Peggy were well taken care of. We would absolutely use Evie as a dog sitter again and would recommend her to others.

Nadya was excellent with my puppy. She looked after here well. My puppy hasn’t had all her vaccines so I needed someone to puppy sit as it was my first day at a new job. Nadya was calm and gentle with Queenie. I came home to a happy pup who’d been fed and snuggled with when she needed it.

FAQs for House Sitting - Brighton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Brighton on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 2,151 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brighton. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
