“Amanda looked after Peggy Sue so well when I was away and was very communicative and sent photos to put my mind at rest. Will not hesitate to book her again if she’s available!”

“Ellen has looked after Lulu a couple of times now and is always punctual, polite and great company for Lulu. Great with Lulu being a bit anxious with visitors, stays calm and always manages to calm Lulu down with ease.”

“Tegan was fantastic with our dog, Saffy. She arrived on time, Saffy immediately loved her, and she kept us up to date whilst we were out. We came back to a very happy and chill pup :) Also, she’s just a lovely person! We’ll definitely be booking up with Tegan again soon.”

“Balbina was amazing with Buddy, regular contact and pics. He looked like he was relaxed and very happy with his new friend. I’d recommend Balbina and will certainly be booking with her again.”

“Andrea was a fantastic sitter! She sent regular lovely updates and photographs throughout the sit which meant that we could fully relax on our holiday. I often find this hard to do away from Pina but she made me feel very comfortable and confident in her care. Andrea made sure that she was very well prepared as regards to any habits and likes for Pina. I was impressed to see that she managed to get her out on lots of walks which can be tricky with Pina. Pina seemed very happy and healthy when we returned. I would wholeheartedly recommend Andrea to any other pet owner and book again.”

“Grace is so lovely and professional and my cat Peggy Sue was in the safest hands with her. I would not hesitate to book Grace again when I next need to! Thanks again ❤️”

“Ok ha is very efficient and caring. She provided regular updates and pictures and if she wasn’t sure of anything she confirmed it with me straight away. Would definitely recommend”

“Juliette was great with Bear. He’s never had a dog sitter before and is a rescue so we were a little hesitant, but he seemed super relaxed and Juliette kept us updated the whole time. 10/10 no notes”

About: I am an experienced dog owner, having cared for my lovely staffy boy for 12 years. He is currently convalescing with my dad in rural North Wales, and I now have room in my life to care for other pets. I have grown up with both cats and dogs and know that all have their own needs and temperaments, so will happily get to know your pets individual needs and quirks. I am happy to care to senior pets. I work from home most days and have a flexible schedule to get around your needs. I can take breaks regular breaks to toilet or walk dogs during the day. On weekends and evenings I will have plenty of time to take dogs on longer walks, either on hove lawns or at the beach. I don't have any of my own pets in the flat. I live on the second floor, but I am happy to carry small pets upstairs if they can't manage them independently. I have a large secure balcony for cats why would enjoy some outside time. I am available for pet sitting at your own home on Friday and Saturday evenings.

About: I've grown up with cats and what's not to love? They're the best snugglers (if that's their kind of thing), cheeky in such a cute way and just generally the best companions! As well as looking after my own cats for over a decade, I've cat sat for neighbours and friends for many years. I'll leave you with one of my favourite quotes: “Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”
“Setting up a house-sitting session with Beth was a breeze. She sent plenty of updates and both of our pets took to her immediately. Thanks, Beth. We’ll be calling on you again, I’m sure.”

“Daphne was wonderful with our 4 month old puppy! Sid was very happy in her company and we came home to a very calm and content little puppy! We were super nervous leaving her with someone for such a long time as she can be a handful but Daphne was completely unphased which put us at ease! She also left our house in the same state we left it in, couldn’t even tell someone had been there! Daphne is also just the loveliest person I could not recommend her higher! Absolutely will be reuniting Sid and Daphne in the future!”

“It was the first time we’d left our young Border with anyone outside of the family. Kiki put my worries at ease - it allowed me to have a couple of days away without any concerns, and our pup had a great time! The regular photo updates were a real touch, and so reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kiki, and we will absolutely book her again! 5 stars :)”

About: I have had pets throughout my life and volunteered at an animal refuge. I had my border terrier from being a pup to 15 and have had cats and birds. I have cared for friend's pets, which have included guinea pigs, tropical fish, chinchillas and snakes! I have public liability insurance and recently trained in dog first aid and emergency canine care. I work part-time from home so have plenty of time to care for your pet and could give them as much company as they need I don't currently offer overnight care at my home as it can be difficult for an animal to settle in an unfamiliar environment. But for holiday care I would be happy to stay overnight at your home giving the added bonus of increased security.
“Teddy had a fantastic time with Kate! He's never bonded so quickly with a sitter before, we came back to a very happy pup! Lots of pupdates were sent so we knew Teddy was having a good time. Will definitely use her again.”

“Flora looked after Saffy for an evening at our home whilst we were out for dinner. She was absolutely lovely and Saffy adored her immediately. I received an update and photos to let me know all was well, and came back to a very happy pup. We’ll definitely be using Flora again! Thanks so much :)”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Brighton
Yvonne happily agreed to come and meet myself and my dog in advance of our proposed holiday. She was calm and kind and Percy instantly took to her. We covered any questions about his care and routine, which was very helpful. And when we decided to leave for holiday one day earlier than agreed she was able to facilitate it which was brilliant. We kept in touch during our holiday with Yvonne sending pics and updates of Percy. I could see he had made a new best friend which was very reassuring. It really put my mind at ease knowing Percy was being cared for in his own home with a dedicated carer! He has not previously enjoyed being at a dog boarder. And when we arrived home the house was clean and tidy and the dog happy and relaxed. Would highly recommend!

Ting was absolutely fantastic with Bones! She was so caring, thoughtful and attentive throughout the stay, and it was clear from all her updates that Bones was having a brilliant time and getting lots of love and attention. She kept us updated with everything, took him on lovely walks, played with him, and even went the extra mile with little things around the house. Bones seemed so happy and comfortable with her, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Ting look after Bones again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful pet sitter! ❤️

We will definitely have Bronte to dog sit again. We asked her to dog sit last minute and she was happy to help. While we were away Bronte gave us lots of updates and pictures, and it was clear that Bonnie was having the time of her life. The pictures she sent us were just adorable. She also left us the sweetest drawing of Bonnie. You can tell how much she loves animals. I highly recommend Bronte to anyone who wants to know their pet is in safe hands!

Anna was amazing! So kind and lovely energy and was so attentive to Brave. She came round and met us beforehand and was super flexible and communicative. She sent loads of updates which was perfect and when we came back our cat was so happy and comfortable and our house was immaculate. Would absolutely recommend her services!

Tegan was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter! She was incredibly attentive throughout the day and kept us updated with lots of lovely messages and amazing photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. She took Pickle out for a walk and spent plenty of time playing with him, so he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. When we got home, Pickle was so chilled out, which was a clear sign he’d had a great day and been given lots of attention. We couldn’t be happier with the care Tegan gave him and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter. Thank you, Tegan!

Kiki was amazing with our dog, she took really good care of him giving us regular updates with photos which we really appreciated. She walked and fed him and played with him, he seemed very content. Our house was also left in a spotless condition. We would definitely rebook / recommend her!

I couldn’t be happier with the care Pickle received from Georgina! She was absolutely amazing with him from start to finish. Georgina was so friendly, kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, and it was clear that Pickle’s happiness and wellbeing were always her top priority. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. Pickle had a fantastic time, and I know he can’t wait to be looked after by Georgina again soon! I would highly recommend Georgina to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and genuinely caring dog sitter.

Anoushka is fabulous, she stayed at our house for 4 days and took excellent care of both our cat and dog, they both loved her! She was so helpful and communicative, sending us lots of lovely photos and updates along the way and accommodating some fussy eating and medical needs with lots of care. She also left the house in immaculate condition. We’re so grateful and would love to have Anoushka back!

The Puurrfect cat sitter On first meeting Genna I was blown away with how professional Genna was. Making the time to familiarise herself with the house, Loulabelle’s routines and spending time getting to know her. And it was an instant connection. This has been the longest I have been away from my cat and although nervous I soon relaxed knowing Loulabelle was in such good care. Daily updates, any concerns raised them straight away and even had a cat cam to monitor Lulabelle’s late nights out. And the very special acts of kindness when I arrived home. I cannot recommend Genna enough and now my go to cat and house sitter.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Brighton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brighton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
