We had a great experience with Milo. Our dogs got attached to him quite quickly. He made efforts to meet and know the dogs before the actual sit, which gave us peace of mind that the dogs had become used to him. He sent us regular updates of his planned day with the dogs and also sent photos like we requested. He followed the dogs routine for walks and meals. The highlight of his stay was he was successful in taking our nervous dog for a walk, which showed his ability to handle dogs with different needs. We trust him with our dogs and will definitely use him again and highly recommend him. Thanks for looking after the dogs for us Milo! :-)

Inna did a fantastic job. Our dog is a bit of a grumpy old man but Inna managed to charm him enough to get him on her side. She sent updates to us every day with photos of him and let us know how he was getting on. We were very happy with the experience.

Spookily good with the 2 dogs, one of whom is usually very nervous with male strangers, the other boisterous and completely deaf - so not an easy gig! He looked after them in our home, everything went well - totally reliable, always turns up on time, left the house clean/tidy and I had total trust in him, as did the dogs! Will definitely use Jordan again, thanks Jordan!

Over the Christmas period our usual house sitting options were unavailable so we used Rover for the first time and were soon put in touch with Abe. Luckily he had availability and we had a meet up beforehand to allow him to meet Lily. Abe is a super friendly guy and you can tell he has a lot of experience around dogs. As he lives nearby he was flexible on start and end timings and he knew all the local walks. Over the time we were away we were kept up to date with activities at home and we got regular photos. When we got back Lily was super calm and relaxed - the sign of a good week! We wouldn’t hesitate to have Abe over again or recommend to others

Ash looked after our very busy house for ten days and did a wonderful job. They are responsive, sent lots of photos and cared for the house beautifully. Ash is incredibly caring and diligent - we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 4 baby tortoises (so lots of animals!) and they looked after everyone magnificently and kept us updated throughout. Ash groomed and massaged the dogs and I think the animals had a great time and will all miss her terribly so I shall book her for some dog walks in the future and have no hesitation in asking her to dog sit again if we go away. Can highly recommend.

Kei looked after our little old man Jack Russell yesterday day and evening for the first time and was brilliant. Had some nice updates throughout the day which always puts me at ease, could tell Kei genuinely really liked spending time with him and I felt very reassured knowing our dog was in good hands. Will definitely be asking Kei again in the future!

One of my dogs, Zippy, can be quite unsociable with new people. Although he had met Dan before, that was always with me present. So when Dan sent me a photo of Zippy sprawled across his knee, fast asleep, it told me everything I needed to know — my dogs were completely happy and relaxed. I felt 100% confident trusting Dan in my home to care for them. He was thoughtful with their walks too, prioritising calmness and sensibly avoiding other dogs while they all settled into each other’s routines. I would highly recommend Dan, and I’ll definitely be booking him again.

Daphne was wonderful with our 4 month old puppy! Sid was very happy in her company and we came home to a very calm and content little puppy! We were super nervous leaving her with someone for such a long time as she can be a handful but Daphne was completely unphased which put us at ease! She also left our house in the same state we left it in, couldn’t even tell someone had been there! Daphne is also just the loveliest person I could not recommend her higher! Absolutely will be reuniting Sid and Daphne in the future!

About: I’ve always been around Pets my whole life from having pets in my household and having many family member’s and friends with pets and I just can’t get enough of them. I work on a 4 on 4 off rotation, which gives me plenty of time to enjoy long walks across the downs on my days off. Perfect for tiring out energetic pups! That said, I know not every dog needs or loves a long walk so I’m flexible, my late dog rarely lasted more than 10 minutes, bless her. I care for pets as if they’re my own, always making sure they feel safe, calm, and comfortable in their environment. I follow any routine you provide and prioritize their well-being, whether that’s playtime, rest, or gentle care for nervous pets. Clean, secure spaces and plenty of affection are always guaranteed

Lauren has been absolutely amazing with both Millie and Leo (Bengal & Cocker). This was the first time we`ve left our dog while traveling but Lauren`s calm and professional manner allowed my wife and I to relax while away. Lauren took the time to visit and get to know our pets before hand plus sent regular text updates and photos / video which was very much appreciated. I can highly recommend Lauren and wouldn't hesitate to have her look after my pets & home again!

Chantelle house sat with my dog Shadow over a long weekend and was an exceptional pet sitter. She was reliable, communicative, caring and responsible. Shadow needs arthritis meds regularly & Chantelle walked him, stayed with him & made sure he received his medication as needed. She even went out of her way to post a Christmas gift that we had left behind. It can be tricky thing when deciding to leave your home and your pet in the hands of someone new. If you’re looking for someone who you can trust to take care of your pets and who you can entrust with your home, look no further! A huge thank you to you Chantelle! We will most definitely be booking you again & again :)

About: I grew up on a dairy farm in England and was surrounded by animals from a very young age. Archie the rescued beagle was my constant companion for 12 years until he passed a few years ago. Since then I have been travelling and started my house and pet sitting adventures while abroad. I have enjoyed sits in Quito, San Francisco, Seattle and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I am now back in the UK permanently and house sitting full time. I have 19 five star reviews on another site. As the past owner of a sometimes challenging rescue dog, I know how important it is to find a reliable carer for your pets when you can't be there. I look forward to providing that peace of mind for owners while satisfying my own passion for travel and animal companionship I am a full time house and pet sitter. I have no other work commitments so I can devote myself full time to the care of your pet and home I am a full time house and pet sitter. About: Hi there, hope you’re well! Thanks for clicking on my page. I'm a responsible, reliable, and trustworthy dog lover - ready to look after your furry friends and truly treat them as my own. I have grown up with dogs since the age of 7 - golden retrievers and tibetan terriers. I took them to puppy training, walked them, groomed them, fed them, and looked after them. I now have my own little pooch, a Poochon called Ziggy - who is excited to meet your furry friends. He has the most lovely temperament. I'd love to meet you and your dog to make sure your dog is comfortable and happy with me. I’m passionate about ensuring I support you and your dog on its learning journey (if that’s important to you) so happy to support with training. Doggy day care includes two walks, and I also have lots of games for the dog to play during the day (e.g. treat puzzles and lick mats!) We also have a large garden for your dogs to enjoy. I look forward to meeting you and your doggo! I have a very flexible schedule as I work 4 days a week, and work from home. I'll keep my calendar updated and happy to chat through your needs :) Doggy day care and overnight stays includes two walks :) I have a lovely securely fenced in garden for your dogs to explore! This means they can go to the loo whenever they want, and chase the birdies! I will be sure to monitor them at all times. I’d like the dog bed and toy to help settle them and make them feel at home. I will give you updates throughout the day, and you are also welcome to facetime me during the day to check in on your doggy!

Benita has been wonderful! This was our first time having a cat sitter stay at our house whilst we were away and she made us feel so comfortable. She looked after our cat with kindness and care and he seemed very happy in the photos she shared. We couldn't have asked for anything more and we think she will be our cat's new bestie!

Rachel took great care of our two cockerpoos and our house while we were away on holiday - many thanks. We came home to relaxed and happy pooches, and a lovely tidy house! She took time on our meet-and-greet beforehand to find out about our boys and stayed in regular contact with us. We'll definitely want to book Rachel again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Adur

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Adur on Rover is £32.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,328 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Adur. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Adur walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Adur choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
