“Gabi did a great job of looking after our 7 month old puppy, 5yo rescue dog and dictatorial cat. Her comms was excellent, she was reliable, and everyone was happy at the end of the day. Thanks, would recommend!!”

About: Caring friendly nature that even nervous pets warm to which I allow at their pace, confident around Dogs especially afore mentioned. Initial introduction is my speciality as was proven when visiting friends in the North East that have 2 x reactive rescue dogs within 10-15 minutes managed to gain the trust of both dogs and had a faboulous long weekend with my new fury family Due to my work with sepecial education I find myself free during school holidays and I appreciate how some familys find it hard to move the Fur Babbies into strange enviroments especially without the usual rountines or family away on holiday My speciality is looking after pets and house sitting which seems to be getting more and more difficult for families that really require this specialist service I have offered this service for friends and family for many years, when I Iooked to live in France permanantly and set up a business I have provided this service and had great feedback Unfortunatly due to personal cicumstances and Brexit I have returned to live in the UK I only offer this service During School Holidays when i am not working myself, when looking after Pets / Homes this gets my full priority I like keeping fit by walking so a win win Looking after your pets in your home is a privelage as I do not have pets myself due to my work in special education & only able to look after pets in school holidays. I believe that this causes families with pets extra anxiety when the school holidays come around as not all staycation accomadation take pets, with new regulations travelling to europe with Dogs has also become so much harder since Brexit. Some people find it hard relaxing whilst on holiday not only about their pets but also security in the home My good friends always say they can relax on holiday when I look after there pets and their house which gives me a great feeling that I am helping people to get some much needed relaxation that normally would struggle to get away I am well travelled and I like to visit different places gaining new adventures which helps me to relax, I also pride myself on being organised and looking after the family home when people are away as well as the pets, fully capable of dealing with any of those unexpected life challenges that come along
About: We have been dog boarding in our home since July 2022. We achieved our official license in May 2023 to provide doggy daycare and boarding for up to three dogs at a time. I attended an in person dog first aid course in May 2023, for which I received a certificate which is valid for 3 years. I then achieved a level 3 Ofqual Canine Care, behaviour and welfare certificate through Canine principles. Since then I have achieved certificates in Canine enrichment, dog basic dog grooming and basic dog training. We now have our own pets-a cat and a dog and would like to start boarding again after a break of one and a half years to focus on other things. I am at work Mondays to Fridays from 11 until 2pm so dogs need to be able to be left during this time I am at home the majority of the time, and as a lover of animals and nature I like to spend as much time outside as I can, which is also beneficial for the children and visiting dogs. We are lucky to live in a beautiful semi rural village with a field just round the corner from our house and plentiful dog walking routes such as Tangmere airfield. We also have a medium sized secure garden. We provide boarding services in our home, which was previously inspected by a dog boarding company and deemed ideal, due to the high fences in the back garden. We regularly check the fences for gaps. We have stair gates so are able to separate the dogs from the children if they need some quiet time. We prefer to meet and greet in advance so that both parties can check for suitability.

About: Hi! I’m a 19-year-old university student home for the holidays and looking to earn some extra money doing something I genuinely love caring for animals. I’ve grown up surrounded by pets and currently have a dog, two tortoises, and a much-loved cat who has been part of my family for 16 years and still sleeps on my bed every night without fail! I’m reliable, caring, and understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, happy, and well looked after while you’re away. Whether it’s cuddles, playtime, walks, feeding, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. Currently, I work part-time in a bakery where my hours are posted the Sunday before the commencing week this means that I am more than happy to do help you any time on a weekend or anytime that i’m not scheduled to work during week days! As I said, I don’t know definitely which days I’ll be scheduled but it’s usually only 6-8 hours a day 3x a week so will have time mornings and evenings outside of work. I have a fenced garden aswell as 1 small friendly dog who gets along with everyone and everything. I also have 2 tortoises who are kept in a cage

About: An animal lover I have owned and cared for a variety of cats and dogs over the years. I cater for all sizes and personalities. I understand that every pet is different, and I am particularly experienced with anxious or nervous dogs who need extra patience, reassurance, and calm handling. I currently own a rescue dog who had been written off, but with care time and patience has been transformed into a wonderful boy. He has been my 3rd rescue dog and I have been very successful in giving them a wonderful life. Large breeds are not a problem having previously owned a German Shepherd. I hold a full driving licence so I am reliable and flexible when it comes to travel, vet visits if ever needed or getting to more rural locations. I am also happy to provide sitting in your home, helping pets stay relaxed in a familiar environment and keeping their usual routine consistent. I am currently Pet first aid and animal CPR trained giving extra reassurance that your pets are in safe and knowledgeable hands. I also carry a comprehensive pet first aid kit. I can generally schedule visits around my current job rota. I treat all pets as if they are my own. I prefer to meet pets prior to walking, visits or house sitting to obtain all relevant details.
“Alison took care of my much loved little cat Megan while I had a short holiday. Alison suggested a meet and greet session in my home beforehand and Megan immediately decided Alison was her new best friend 💕 so it was lovely for me to know Megan was in good hands and I could relax and have a lovely holiday. Came home to a spotlessly clean and tidy house and a very relaxed and happy Megan, who I know appreciated having her usual routine and of course plenty of cuddles! I hope Alison will be able to house sit for me again and I highly recommend her.”

About: I've been taking care of dogs of all kinds for just over two years now. Every dog has its own personality and I take pride in making sure these personalities are understood, so that I can build a genuine connection with them. There's nothing more rewarding then clicking with these amazing animals. I currently work during the day, so taking care of your pets will be a late afternoon service. Weekends can be an all day service. I live in a flat with two other people who are animal lovers too. And whatever the dogs schedule, I will adhere to that to insure routine is upheld.

I would highly recommend Mia, she is a great communicator, warm and friendly and very switched on. Lottie is quite shy with new people and she gave her the space she needed while getting they got to know each other. Mia followed all the instructions I gave for Lotties care, sent photos and did a meet and greet first. I have already booked Mia again and would not hesitate to recommend her.

Daisy was an absolute star with Pumpkin. Pumpkin can be standoffish or take a while to warm to new people but daisy immediately made an effort to win her over and it worked. It was just the weekend but when she came back pumpkin was staring at Daisy with complete adoration. We had regular updates and Daisy easily managed all of Pumpkins medical requirements. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Daisy again, thank you so much!!

Becky arrived on time, was calm and confident with our dog who can be a little nervous. Becky was polite and I completely trusted her in our house with our fur baby, she listened to all our instruction and concerns professionally. I will defiantly be booking Becky again.

It’s the first time leaving our shihtzu Boss with someone else - I was a little worried but Amelia put my mind at ease. She took on our request at the last minute and welcomed my long list of things I had on my mind (sorry!!). I got updates regularly and Boss was so relaxed during his time with Amelia. Thank you!

Rebecca was brilliant with our little Dachshund Frank. He is a little frustrated after recent surgery and is on restricted exercise. But Rebecca was great at giving him reassurance and cuddles. She communicated really well and was such a help to us at reasonably short notice. Highly recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Arun walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Arun choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
