“Nadiana looked after our dog, Leia, overnight whilst we were at a family wedding. She treated her as if she were her own dog, giving her lots of cuddles and attention, playing with her and taking her on lovely walks. Leia had a great time. We will definitely contact Nadiana again next time we need a dog sitter.”

“Thanks the first time we have left our dog with anyone and Hamish was not an easy one to care for. An old dog who can’t seem to sleep alone, barks a lot. A super softie but the right carer needed to be found. Alan was exactly that and more. He made us feel confident and allowed us the much needed family break away. He kept in contact regularly, nothing was too much, left the house in great order and most of all did a super job caring for Hamish. We would highly recommend him and will for sure be asking for his help again if needed.”

“Felicitas is a wonderful pet sitter! She recently looked after our cat Rio for 5 days at our house and did an amazing job. She is a clear animal lover and he took to her instantly, and she thoughtfully brought lots of toys to entertain him with. We really appreciated that she kept us updated with lots of videos and pictures as well. She left the house spotlessly clean and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Thank you so much for caring for my two dogs at such short notice. I really appreciated the updates and photos and that you administered medication for my older dog and let both dogs out when needed during the night. They were clearly relaxed in your company and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to other people needing dog sitters 😊”
“Repeat booking. This time Yvonne stayed at our house too. She was great at looking after our dog and left the house really clean. I would not hesitate to book Yvonne again”

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I provide a safe, caring, and reliable environment for every dog in my care. Having previously owned a dog myself, I understand the importance of meeting each dog’s individual needs, including exercise, companionship, routine, and plenty of attention. I genuinely love animals and take pride in ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. My son also enjoys spending time with dogs, which means your pet will receive plenty of affection and companionship in a warm, family-oriented home. I treat every dog as if they were my own and am committed to providing the highest standard of care throughout their stay. I currently only work park time and only 8-1 so have weekends free and Mondays and Thursdays! My working days are Tuesday Wednesday Fridays 8-1 I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. In my home, I provide a warm and welcoming environment where pets can enjoy plenty of playtime, and affection. I stick to their usual routines for feeding, walks, and rest so they feel secure and at ease. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely to maintain consistency in the pet’s routine. I make sure they get the right balance of attention, play, and rest, while also keeping the home tidy and cared for. No matter where I’m caring for pets, I treat them like part of the family and give them the same love and attention I’d want for my own. I don’t have a garden but I have a big field at the end of my road!
“Jo was blooming marvellous, so much so I asked to Rebook whilst I was still away!! The girls were well cared for and met Jo’s doggy for walkies which they all enjoyed, they had lost of cuddles and love and I was kept updated with pictures and messages. Jo left the house beautiful and tidy, she washed the bedding that had been used and even put fresh bedding on for when I returned. She kept up to date with the delay of our flight home and stayed a bit longer to ensure the girls had dinner and were not on their own long.”

“Alex was absolutely brilliant! On time, super friendly and Connie (who can be a bit nervous) evidently got on with Alex really well. Would recommend and we will be using her again.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, including Border Terriers called Dodge and Annie. I have also had a cat called Tilly. I’m very comfortable caring for different types of animals. I genuinely love spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I also have experience with dog walking through a family friend’s dog walking business, as well as walking and caring for dogs for family friends. My responsibilities include feeding pets, walking them, playing with them, and giving them lots of attention and exercise. I’m reliable, patient and always treat every pet as if they were my own. At the moment I’m waiting to start my new job, so I’m free most days. This means I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m available for boarding during both weekdays and weekends, and I’m able to give pets lots of attention, walks, playtime, and care throughout the day. At the moment I don’t offer a service where pets stay in my home. However, when caring for pets in their owner’s home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in their familiar environment. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific routines the pet is used to. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention and care while their owner is away, and I keep the home tidy and respectful during my stay.
“Lauren was amazing. Our dog Sam found it quite tricky when we left (more so than he ever had done before) and lauren knew exactly what do and we felt very happy and comfortable leaving him with her. She was so professional and even helped to manage our stress levels when we wondered whether we could actually leave him or not. I’d highly recommend Lauren and will be reaching to her again when we need a dogsitter.”

About: I’ve had my German Shepherd since I was 10, and training and caring for him has been one of my biggest passions. Since then, family and friends have trusted me to look after their pets, giving me experience with different personalities and needs. I’ve also cared for a reactive dog, which taught me how to stay calm, patient, and attentive on walks. I absolutely love being outdoors and hiking, and I think theres no better walking buddy than a lovely dog! I am currently a university student so i am mostly free on weekdays since i usually have one lecture a day, and completely free on Saturdays, and i am free before 3 and after 5 on Sundays :) I follow your pets routine as closely as possible to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise, and of course lots of attention and affection. I am also very big on respecting pets boundaries, my main priority being to make your pet feel safe and happy. I’m very respectful of the owner’s home and keep everything clean and tidy. I also provide regular updates, photos, and messages so owners can feel reassured while they’re away. Most importantly, I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel happy, secure, and well cared for. 💗

Let me treat your dog like family while you're away! “Trustworthy, Loving & Professional Highly Recommend Shellina We were away and leaving both our cat and dog with Shellina was absolutely the right decision. From the very beginning, she kept us consistently updated with photos and messages, which made a huge difference while we were away. It was clear that both of our pets were not only well cared for, but genuinely comfortable and happy. Shellina gave them so much attention, affection, and cuddles that, honestly, they didn’t even feel our absence. That says everything. She followed their routines carefully, ensured they were well fed, exercised, and emotionally settled. Our dog enjoyed plenty of walks and playtime, and both pets received constant love and interaction. She even helped them socialise, which was a great added touch. She stayed in our home, treated everything with respect, and handled everything in a very professional and organised way. What stood out most was the peace of mind — we didn’t worry for a single moment. That level of trust is not easy to find. Shellina clearly loves animals and takes her work seriously. We are incredibly grateful for the level of care she provided and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, loving, and professional pet sitter. Thank you again, Shellina — wishing you continued success.”

About: I have many years’ experience caring for dogs and currently provide home-from-home dog boarding in my house near Gatwick. Dogs stay in a calm environment with plenty of attention, regular walks, and access to my enclosed garden. I only take a small number of dogs at a time so they receive proper care and supervision. I’m used to different breeds and personalities and always take time to understand each dog’s routine so they feel comfortable while their owners are away. I’m happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand and I send regular photo updates so owners can relax knowing their dog is safe and well looked after. I’m currently working part time hours but will be able to be flexible to make sure I can spend plenty of time with your dog . I have a fenced back garden which your dog is welcome to use and a safe haven inside and out . Also have fields close by ideal for dog walks

About: Hi, I’m Sophie! I’ve been pet sitting through an established company and have loved getting to know so many wonderful pets and their owners. I’ve now decided to branch out on my own so I can offer a wider range of services, including pet sitting, cat visits, and dog walking. Alongside pet sitting, I recently graduated from university in 2025 and work in a professional role. My career has helped me develop qualities that I bring into every booking – I’m responsible, trustworthy, organised, and dependable. I’m also Enhanced DBS checked, so you can feel confident that your pets and home are in safe hands. I mainly work from home, which means I have the flexibility to give pets plenty of time, attention, and company throughout the day. Whether your pet loves playtime, long walks, cuddles on the sofa, or simply having someone around, I’ll always tailor my care to their routine and individual needs. I have two rabbits of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with your pets. I’d love to have a cat myself, but unfortunately my partner is allergic, so caring for other people’s cats is the next best thing! I also enjoy getting outdoors, so dog walking is something I genuinely look forward to. I’m experienced in administering medication and have cared for pets with a wide range of personalities and needs. I also volunteered at a dog rescue, where I regularly walked larger and dog-reactive dogs, giving me confidence handling dogs that require extra patience, awareness, and calm leadership. One thing that’s really important to me is communication. I know how difficult it can be leaving your pet with someone new, so I’ll always keep you updated with regular photos, messages, and plenty of reassurance while you’re away. I genuinely treat every pet as if they were my own and would love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family! I love forward to hearing from you 🩷 I mainly work from home, which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. I can usually work around your pet’s routine, and I have a flexible lunch break that I can take at different times depending on what’s needed. This means I’m able to provide toilet breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of company during the day rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. At weekends, I love getting out and about with dogs. Whether it’s a trip to a dog-friendly café, a wander around a garden centre, or jumping in the car to explore a new walking spot, I enjoy making dogs part of my plans. Of course, every outing is tailored to your dog’s personality, energy levels, and your preferences, so they’ll always have a fun, safe, and enriching time. Whether your pet enjoys an active adventure or simply relaxing at home with company, I’m happy to adapt my schedule to suit their needs and make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I have two friendly rabbits who have their own dedicated bedroom. Their room has both a door and a stair gate, meaning they’re completely separate from any visiting pets to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. My garden is a woodland-style space with lots of greenery and even a little stream running through it. As it isn’t fully enclosed, I never allow dogs off lead in the garden. Instead, they are safely supervised on a long line, so they can still enjoy exploring, sniffing, and spending time outside while remaining completely secure.
“A massive thanks to Charlotte who took excellent care of Ozzie and our house whilst we were away. She made it so easy to arrange the sit and stayed in touch throughout. It really helped us enjoy our time away. I would thoroughly recommend Charlotte”

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Gabi! Gabi stayed at our home to look after our special little boy, Hugo, while we were getting married, and knowing he was in such caring hands gave us complete peace of mind throughout the day. She took him on plenty of walks and kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which meant we could fully enjoy our wedding knowing Hugo was happy and well looked after. What really amazed us was how far Gabi went above and beyond. In all the excitement of the wedding, I completely forgot my wedding present at home. Without hesitation, Gabi kindly brought it all the way to our wedding venue for us, which honestly saved the day! It’s rare to find someone so caring, thoughtful, and genuinely dedicated. We can’t thank Gabi enough for everything she did for us and for Hugo. We would recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. Thank you so much, Gabi!

Julia was great! It was the first time we’ve used a house sitter for our cat, and Julia made it all really easy. She sent me regular updates and photos and I felt completely relaxed knowing that Bennie was more than happy in Julia’s capable hands. Thank you Julia.
Themaria is excellent with our dogs and they really took to her! She communicates well and isn’t afraid to check up if unsure (which we really appreciate). Our collie has medication to take and this went well. Our very nervous Pomeranian was nudging her for attention by the time we got back! For us it is all about the dogs feeling safe, being cared for and loved and Themaria did it all! We also got plenty photos an videos too. Thankyou Themaria, we will see you again soon!!

Felicitas provided amazing care for my dog and reassurance for me through regular updates. My dog was very relaxed in her company. Felicitas was very understanding when the person supposed to be taking over from her had forgotten and turned up over two hours late. Thank you SO much Felicitas.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Crawley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
