The most amazing sitter/walker we have ever had for Nala. So happy to have found Emma who genuinely I would be unable to fault in any capacity. Could not recommend her higher. Our dog Nala adored her and so did we! 5* and nothing less.

Thank you so much for dog sitting Izzy, you were brilliant! Izzy was so lovely and cared for Ziggy really well. She sent us regular updates, looked after Ziggy and our house wonderfully. We would highly recommend Izzy and hope to use her again soon.

Max liked Bee from the begining and she was very good with him. She was extremely communicative and reassuring during the whole sitting and we knew what was happening at all times. Max had a great day with her!

Richard was a fabulous dog sitter and I couldn’t recommend him more. We have a strong GSD that requires quite a bit of attention and affection - Richard was constantly doting on him and Kobie adored him. He kept our house impeccably clean and we had the most lovely updates from him in the morning and evening. Our boy absolutely adored him and we did too knowing how happy Kobie was with him. We look forward to using him again in future.

About: Have always had dogs in my life and now retired I get to enjoy them even more. I started out as a carer for shared lives , a croydon initiative and incorporated dog walking and sitting. As such i have enhanced DBS check and I feel i give a relaxed dog walker and home sitter experience. I have my own dog Ziggy who is a six year old golden cavapoo and can be found alot around Riddlesdown , Selsdon Common and various other parks. I prefer 1 to 1 dog walking to give your pet the best attention Currently I own a very active Cockerspaniel called Ziggy who requires morning and afternoon walks. I am recently retired so I have alot more time these days. I am now taking new dogs on an ad hoc basis and specialise in one to one care. I leave the weekend free for family but if weekend care is needed then tjat is something that is possible. I dont take pets in at home but prefer to house sit. I have an enhanced DBS check as recently I am also a secondary carer for other carers who require holiday cover. At a dog owners house I would feed and walk the dog as per the owners wishes and check on them every four hours maximum.

About: I have been taking care of dogs for 10 years since everyone in my family has a pet. So I’ve learnt to adapt to different kind of breads when it comes to dogs. And for cats I would consider myself more of a cat person although I have two dogs. I can feed your pets, take them on walks and do home visits and etc. I’m not working right now and don’t plan too. So I am available for the whole week including weekends and holidays. I’d be able to do drop ins or pet sitting in the morning and after noon and I’m available bring your pets too my house. I have a back garden that has very tall fences and grass that is regularly cut so it can stay very short. I also have two small dogs. One is friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs and the other one is very shy but neither are agressive dogs.

Sam had a lovely time with Cerys. I am quite sure she gave him her full attention and was kind to him. Sam can be anxious with new people but I can't imagine he would be anything but calm and content with Cerys.

Lauren was amazing! ... it was a fairly short notice requirement for our two dogs + housesit, and we managed to communicate with Lauren about everything in advance. We know the dogs had a good time, we could tell by their faces when we returned. We were most impressed with Lauren and would definitely recommend her, and will be using her excellent services again ... thank you Lauren.

Alicia is a wonderful lady and is very caring with dogs. We were landed with a last minute change of dog care. Alicia was able to help us, responding late in the evening to our call for care the following morning at our home. Our gorgeous old boy received lots cuddles as soon as Alicia arrived to provide 24 hour care and we received regular updates from Alicia during that period . We will definitely book Alicia again in the future as she is a wonderful five star dog-carer. We are pleased we used the Rover app too for the first time. It helped us out in our last minute panic.

We have two 40kg plus dogs and a grumpy old man cat with complex meds and health issues and Ian looked after all three of them for the weekend with care. The dogs were walked every day, and had a brilliant time bouncing around having the ball thrown for them, plus sofa snuggles in the evenings. One of them can be anxious, but am not even sure he noticed we were gone!! Our cat had his meds without problem and even overcame his indifference to also appear for cuddles. Our house was perfectly clean and tidy on our return, no issues at all, Ian had even lit a fire for us to come home to a warm house ☺️ would 100% rebook and recommend him.

Marta was splendid when she looked after Elie, our 5 year old airedale, for over 2 weeks. She walked her twice a day, followed our instructions and responded to Ellie's preferences. She sent photographs of Ellie when out walking and relaxing afterwards. She was clearly settled and has remained so on our return. Marta also looked after our house well and left it in an immaculate state. Thank you so much Marta and we do hope you will look after Ellie again.

About: I have hands-on experience with dogs: in 2021, I assisted a local dog trainer, which gave me insight into training techniques, behavior, and proper care. I’ve personally cared for dogs of my own—my first dog, who had a liver condition, lived with me until the age of 8. Currently, I have a lively 2-year-old dog, so I understand the daily needs, energy levels, and attention dogs require. I am working remotely, and only part time, so I can bring all my free time to the dogs. Also, it is good experience to switch the attention to the dogs and be active, because sitting is not good for health At my home: Your dog will have a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of playtime, walks, and interaction. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, exercise, and rest, and make sure each dog feels happy and secure. Also, there are no objects that your dog can eat or that can cause some problems At the owner’s home: I follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I ensure your home stays tidy and your dog feels calm and comfortable while you’re away. Walks & outdoor time: I provide walks suited to your dog’s energy level, using safe routes, and always monitor their behavior, ensuring they get enough exercise and mental stimulation.

Caroline came to look after Mabel for the day whilst we were at a wedding and it was a huge relief to leave Mabel in such good hands. As Mabel is a nervous and anxious dog, we’ve been apprehensive about leaving her but Caroline came for two meet and greets before the day and made us and Mabel feel at ease very quickly! Thank you, Caroline, for doing such a good job and we really enjoyed getting the pupdates throughout the day. Would book Caroline in again in an instant!

About: Ive had dogs in my life since I was 5, mainly staffies. They required good training, and have always had impeccable behaviour. My close friends have labs, husky's and sheep dogs. I get along with all of them extremely well. My finance just loves dogs, this was her idea before we get our own. My fiance works from home 3-4 days a week. I work from home 2-3 days a week. We both love to walk, and live in a great area that allows walks. We have a fenced garden for any outdoor space they need. Can walk them twice a day if needed too. If they need to be crated, that can also be accommodated, but not required.

FAQs for House Sitting - Tandridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tandridge on Rover is £46 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 16,325 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tandridge. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Tandridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tandridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
