We were lucky enough to have Zoe and Ross to sit for 11days to look after our crazy but kind rescue boy, Loki. He came with a bit of a rider as can be an anxious lad sometimes and needed someone who was happy to work with his likes and dislikes, as well as well as carry on the consistent messaging he knows. Zoe asked all the right questions about Loki’s needs and we couldn’t have asked for a better match - lovely, kind people. Zoe took time to read our messages prior to our meet and greet and stayed in touch until our booking. Zoe immediately put our dog at ease and was happy to follow his routine. Zoe shared lovely photos of their stay with our dog and the adventures they got up to, exploring a range of sites in our area. It was lovely to see pictures and have messages of how Loki was getting on, including looking very chilled and having a good play in the garden. The house was spotless on our return and Loki was clearly very happy and relaxed with Zoe and Ross. I would highly recommend them both for conscientious, experienced and attentive dog sitters. It was lovely to have a couple who have life experience too and took initiative, such as a minor power cut in the home and having their bedding in the wash on our return. Would absolutely use again for our Loki.

About: Hey there, i’m Marina, a very caring and loving person and full time lover of cats and dogs My experience with dogs originates from having a family Yorkshire that we got as a puppy. Later on when i moved to England, I lived with a family and took full time care of their dog, we used to go on walks every morning after the school run and at lunch time. Our neighbour had the exact same dog but a male and often I used to take both of them on walks to the nearby fields. I have also taken care of my boyfriend’s family cats, they have 4 tabby cats who are very sweet and demanding. I usually feed them and administer medicine to Lucy, their oldest cat, when they go away. I also sit with them making sure they get some attention. I have previously occasionally looked after friend’s dogs by taking them on walks and feeding them. I’m currently working full-time from home so I am able to sit in other people houses or at home and give attention to your pets for as long as needed. I usually care for my boyfriend’s family pets, 4 tabby cats who are quite senior and demanding, usually require feeding at different times of the day and oral medicine for two of them due to health issues. As well as constant affection as they love to sit next to me whilst working I always prioritise the health and well-being of animals in my care. My approach involves maintaining their stablished routines as i can imagine it must be hard for them to be away from the people they are used to. I’d provide consistent attention and ensuring they are safe and clean. I’d also keep an eye for any signs of distress or concern if it arises

Emma stepped in at short notice for me and instantly made me (and the pups) feel very comfortable - to look after them and to stay in my home. She is a natural with dogs and instantly understood (or already knew!) how I liked them to be cared for. Emma kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout her stay. I came home to very happy puppies and a beautifully tidy home. I have booked Emma again myself and can certainly recommend her to others.

About: I love the company of animals more than anything else, which is why I have aspired to be a vet since a young age. I have cared for pets of friends and family since I was a little girl, it is my favourite thing to do. The more animals I can meet the happier I am. I have experience in walking, feeding, socialising and bathing dogs and my passion and love for animals are reflected by how I care for them. My passion for animals, especially dogs, prospered during 6th form when I participated in lots of veterinary work experience and learned many important things such as the signs of certain illnesses in animals. I have just finished my A-Levels and decided to take a gap year before starting university. This means I have a lot of time to structure to my liking. I therefore combined my love and enthusiasm for animals and my flexible schedule to allow myself to look after your pets

About: I have been taking care of dogs for 10 years since everyone in my family has a pet. So I’ve learnt to adapt to different kind of breads when it comes to dogs. And for cats I would consider myself more of a cat person although I have two dogs. I can feed your pets, take them on walks and do home visits and etc. I’m not working right now and don’t plan too. So I am available for the whole week including weekends and holidays. I’d be able to do drop ins or pet sitting in the morning and after noon and I’m available bring your pets too my house. I have a back garden that has very tall fences and grass that is regularly cut so it can stay very short. I also have two small dogs. One is friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs and the other one is very shy but neither are agressive dogs.

Steve is amazing. This was our first time using Rover, and although Steve is fairly new to Rover, he is an old hand at pet and house sitting. I would say he is a professional pet sitter and house sitter. Our dog Frankie loved him from the start. Steve’s calm kind energy had Frankie cuddling him on the sofa demanding head stokes. Frankie can be challenging at times with new poeple, but nothing fazes Steve and he quickly worked out Frankies quirks and made best friends with him. We have a tracker on Frankie which Steve logged on to. Steve is very good with technology so knew how to use the tracker and made sure the ‘five star’ walks were kept up and exceeded! Steve is great at sending photos and updates whilst away, and communication before. We are so happy we have found Steve and feel completely comfortable leaving our home and beloved dog with him whilst we are away.

Marta was splendid when she looked after Elie, our 5 year old airedale, for over 2 weeks. She walked her twice a day, followed our instructions and responded to Ellie's preferences. She sent photographs of Ellie when out walking and relaxing afterwards. She was clearly settled and has remained so on our return. Marta also looked after our house well and left it in an immaculate state. Thank you so much Marta and we do hope you will look after Ellie again.

About: I’m a caring and responsible person who loves animals and understands how important it is to make pets feel safe, comfortable and well looked after. I’m attentive to their individual needs and always make sure they receive plenty of care, attention and affection whilst their owners are away! Cats are my favourite animals, I have a sweet elderly cat called Penny, and I have experience looking after adult and elderly dogs. My weekly routine is flexible, allowing me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I can arrange my day around feeding, walks, playtime and check-ins, while making sure pets receive consistent attention and care. I’m available to provide morning, afternoon or evening visits depending on each pet’s routine and needs. I’m also happy to spend longer periods with pets who need extra company and attention. I understand that keeping to a pet’s usual routine is important, so I’ll always work with their feeding, walking and care schedule to help them feel comfortable while their owner is away! I would make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and cared for in their own homes by keeping to their usual routine and following any instructions you provide. I would take the time to build trust with your pet, while treating your home and belongings with respect. I would also keep their environment clean, calm and comfortable, ensuring they have fresh water, food and everything they need throughout my visit.

About: Hi! I’m Aurora, an Italian living in Oxted and a lifelong dog lover. I currently care for my senior Labrador, Oly, who has taught me the importance of patience, routine and gentle care. Looking after an older dog has given me experience with large breeds, slower walks, medication routines and paying close attention to changes in behaviour. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so I will treat your pet as if they were my own. I’m reliable, organised and always follow owners’ instructions carefully. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates, so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits and house sitting, and I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friend! I work full-time during the week, but pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m available for morning, evening and weekend visits, walks and house sitting, with additional availability depending on my work schedule. I’ll always make sure your pet receives the time, attention and care they deserve, and I’ll keep you updated with regular photos and messages. Your pet’s safety, comfort and routine are my top priorities. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully, from feeding schedules and medication to playtime and favourite hiding spots. I currently care for my senior Labrador, Oly, and my cat, Molly, so I understand how important patience, consistency and trust are. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine (where applicable), I’ll treat them with the same love and attention I give my own pets.

About: I have hands-on experience with dogs: in 2021, I assisted a local dog trainer, which gave me insight into training techniques, behavior, and proper care. I’ve personally cared for dogs of my own—my first dog, who had a liver condition, lived with me until the age of 8. Currently, I have a lively 2-year-old dog, so I understand the daily needs, energy levels, and attention dogs require. I am working remotely, and only part time, so I can bring all my free time to the dogs. Also, it is good experience to switch the attention to the dogs and be active, because sitting is not good for health At my home: Your dog will have a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of playtime, walks, and interaction. I maintain a consistent routine for feeding, exercise, and rest, and make sure each dog feels happy and secure. Also, there are no objects that your dog can eat or that can cause some problems At the owner’s home: I follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I ensure your home stays tidy and your dog feels calm and comfortable while you’re away. Walks & outdoor time: I provide walks suited to your dog’s energy level, using safe routes, and always monitor their behavior, ensuring they get enough exercise and mental stimulation.

About: We have always had cats and dogs growing up. And have had our bella since she was 6 weeks old. I am very confident with animals and my husband actually prefers them over people I am currently a full time mum to my two young girls. We take our dog for a walk in the morning and my husband takes her in the evening. We live near lots of fields so lots of space to run around. I also have a nice size garden for regular trips outside I have a fully fenced garden with one dog of my own. She has free roam of the house when I am in and when I pop out she has to stay downstairs. Most of the time she comes with us wherever possible. I have plenty of room for a crate if your dog is crate trained. I will keep you updated with regular photos/videos and keep routine as close to home as possible.

Charlotte house-sat for our dog, Stitch, for the day and we were really pleased with her. Stitch can be quite nervous and overexcited when meeting new people, but Charlotte was incredibly calm, patient and understanding with him, which really helped put him at ease. Charlotte was also very respectful of our home and followed the handover and schedule we had set out perfectly. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure Stitch was comfortable and well looked after, which gave us real peace of mind while we were out for the day. Thank you, Charlotte! We really appreciate your help and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tandridge on Rover is £46 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 16,697 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tandridge. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Tandridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tandridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
