“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We are so grateful for Durga! Our senior dog had a fall the day before we left for our trip, so we needed extra support — crate time and overall extra TLC. Durga was fantastic about all of it. She gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. You could tell she genuinely cared about our dogs and went above and beyond to look after them. We received updates twice a day with details on how the dogs were doing, and she asked thoughtful questions to make sure she was doing everything right which was really appreciated. Our house was spotless when we got home, and the kind, attentive care she showed our senior dogs was truly special. We would absolutely recommend Durga and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much!”

“We were delighted with how Andrea took great care of our two miniature dachshunds. They were happy and relaxed when we got home and we could see they had both been very well looked after. It was also lovely to come home to a very tidy house. Andrea sent us daily updates with photos and videos of our dogs, who were clearly having a lovely time. It meant we could relax and really enjoy our holiday. I would definitely recommend Andrea.”

“Sebastian was very communicative and fantastic with Chip, sends lots of photos and updates which is brilliant. Chip was very happy, had lots of exercise and play and of course snoozes! I would definitely recommend Sebastian”

“Lane was amazing! Very friendly and calmed when first saw Mr grey. He is a bit challenging but with her he was always very calmed and happy! It was a pleasure having her looking after my dog. Would definitely recommend her to everyone☺️”

“Iwona did a great job of looking after Loki. She went out of her way to make sure he was happy. Iwona understands all different dog breeds including spaniels and is very confident with handling all their different needs. She made sure she gave him lots of exercise and stimulation and was very dedicated and caring. We received lots of photos while we were away and she ensured that we had complete peace of mind that both Loki and our house was well looked after.”

“Jackson was absolutely fantastic as a sitter for Rufus. Incredibly polite, a calm and kind demeanour and really communicative - Jackson sent us some updates whilst we were away to show how Rufus was getting on. We would thoroughly recommend Jackson for dog sitting - he is very knowledgeable about dogs and Rufus definitely relaxed in his company. Jackson is extremely trustworthy too and thoughtful - he asked plenty of additional questions about what Rufus likes and dislikes. Thank you Jackson we will definitely use you again to look after Rufus!”

“It was my first time using Rover so it was nerve-racking to leave my furbaby with a stranger. Am so happy that I selected Rebecca she was great, and spend loads of time with Louis. I am very happy with her and most definitely will use her services again.”

“Rhiannon was amazing with the cats! She sent regular updates, ensured that they are well looked after. They did take few days to settle and get used to her, but she managed that quite well! She also took good care of the house and left it in pristine condition. Really appreciated her care and help! Would definitely recommend her and book her again ”
About: I’ve taken care of cats for more than 8 years. I can feed them medicine if they need. I love playing with cats. Besides, I have experience to take care of senior cats. I am currently working full time at home. I am able to visit your home daily before 9am and after 6pm and I am able to take care the cats at home always. I have a window lock to prevent them going out and I don’t have a garden. The cats are not able to leave suddenly. I have sufficient facilities for cats as well.

“Edel was obliging, responsive, and attentive throughout in dogsitting for Puck, our Siberian Husky, and walking him. Our brief visit beforehand gave us a good feeling. Edel was diligent in sending updates and photos - from the time of her arrival and throughout. This enabled us to feel confident that all was well.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities, including my own rescue dog and a large-breed dog. Through years of dog walking and pet sitting, I have developed a strong understanding of canine behaviour, body language, and individual care needs. I regularly attend training sessions with my own dogs and am currently completing courses in Dog Behaviour & Training and Professional Dog Walking. This helps me provide safe, positive, and enriching care for every dog I look after. My experience includes caring for energetic young dogs, nervous or rescue dogs who need extra patience and confidence-building, and larger breeds that require consistent handling. I focus on creating a calm, trustworthy environment where dogs feel comfortable, secure, and happy while in my care. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I care for my own two dogs every day, including walks, training, playtime, feeding, and enrichment activities. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide regular walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and pet sitting throughout the week. I enjoy spending time outdoors and making sure every dog gets the attention, exercise, and care they need. 🐾 Available all weekends, and love making some trip to dog friendly beaches or big parks. Safety and comfort are my priorities when caring for pets. At home, I have two built-in crates and two large travel crates available for dogs who feel more secure having their own quiet space. If needed, crates can be set up in our bedroom to help dogs settle and feel comfortable, especially during overnight stays. My home has a large, secure garden with an agility area, a dog swimming pool, and a variety of enrichment activities and games to keep dogs mentally and physically stimulated throughout the day. I tailor activities to each dog’s age, energy level, and personality. I follow owners’ routines and instructions closely, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, medication, and training preferences. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. 🐾

“Liam has been fantastic. He was very patient with my dog letting her get used to him. He shared lovely updates and showed great care throughout the process. He came for a first meeting to meet the dog and understand her needs as wee. I can certainly recommend his services.”

“Savannah was great! Took the time to come and meet me and Pancake the day before, was always very responsive and Pancake had a great time with her. The fact that she is always very calm was great to make sure Pancake had no anxiety when we left the house.”

“Isabella has been completely incredible with our very nervous and anxious whippet. It is not often that she connects with people and did so wholeheartedly with Isabella. She was also perfect at keeping the house in order. Couldn’t be more impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.”

“Jacqueline was absolutely brilliant with my nervous dog, Winter. She gave him the space he needed to be comfortable, and they became friends in no time. I will definitely recommend her and book with her in the future. She was also punctual and communicated well.”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Merton
Durga was a super star, quick response, perfectly on time and gave Monty the best care all day especially with him in a cone post an op, she was so caring and asked all the right questions, making us feel so calm about leaving him for the day. Thank you and would highly recommend!!

Iona was absolutely fantastic looking after our Chutney. She was so kind, caring and attentive, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She kept us updated throughout and treated Chutney with so much love and care. We came home to a very happy little dog! We couldn’t recommend Iona highly enough and feel so lucky to have found someone so wonderful to look after him.

We are so pleased we found Merrily and she was available to look after Dotty. From the outset when she had her first meet and greet with Dotty we could tell she was going to put her needs first and was an absolute delight to deal with. Merrily sent regular updates and took Dotty on all sorts of adventures; it was one of the first holidays I have taken as a pet owner where I have had zero worries about leaving. Would thoroughly recommend working with Merrily.

Iwona looked after my dog Stella for 8 days and I could not have had a better experience. My dog has some serious health issues and so I'm very careful who I leave her with. With Iwona, I quickly had absolute peace of mind and could relax without worrying whilst away. Iwona is on the one hand, warm, friendly with a seemingly natural affinity with dogs and yet equally and crucially, showed the utmost professionalism, responsibility, judgment and more. I was away whilst a heatwave was in place and Iwona made adjustments to my dog's schedule in order to allow for this all the while, keeping me informed and working with my dog's schedule/needs. Iwona is an excellent communicator and we had daily checks ins and photos/videos which is of course so nice to receive whilst far away from home. Iwona was very comfortable receiving notes as they relate to my dog. Indeed, she placed great importance on understanding my dog's needs, routine, habits, preferences. My dog is clearly very happy and settled in Iwona's care. I am so pleased to have found Iwona and would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter/carer for their much-loved pet. Thank you Iwona!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Merton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 88% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
