“It was an absolute pleasure to meet the lovely Andrea and have her housesit our babies Lemon & Cello for a couple of nights. As our cats are house cats they are used to having company and love lots of attention but sometimes (mostly Lemon) take a little while to get used to strangers, but all I can say is Andrea is a born Cat Whisperer. Both Cats fell in love with her and even our shy little girl Lemon was out from her hiding place enjoying brushing and cuddles. Andrea kept us updated with photos, videos and messages, she is a super special young lady and will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Mei was wonderful - just absolutely 10/10. My little dog can be quite nervous, especially with new people but Mei was so calm and kind, entirely putting her at ease. She was professional and asked all the right questions in advance. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

“Liam was absolutely fantastic with our dogs. We can’t be happier with his service. He updated us daily and our dogs were happy and well taken care of. We will definitely use him again and highly recommend him. Thank you Liam!”

“Alexei and Lin were very communicative and flexible when we had a change of plans last minute! Senny was very well looked after and we received lots of pupdates throughout the day! Would definitely book again!”

“Dan was an excellent sitter for our rather large dog Mila. He was very conscientious and accommodating to what we needed to keep Mila entertained and comfortable whilst we were away. I would highly recommend Dan to anybody looking for a trusted, kind and friendly person to look after their furry members of the family. Thank you again Dan! Mila already misses you!!”

“Durga is a fantastic dog sitter. Horatio absolutely loves her and we are always very confident leaving him with her. Would highly recommend Durga if you’re looking for a sitter in Wimbledon.”

“Isabel came over to meet Kenzo before the sitting, which was great. She asked so many thoughtful questions about his care, and I immediately felt confident he'd be in good hands. She was wonderful about sending photos and regular updates while I was away, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend her!”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Iwona to look after our pets. We have now used her for various sits including 2 2 week holidays. She takes excellent care of both our Cocker Spaniel puppy Fred (8 months) and cat Milly (5 years). Both animals are exceptionally well cared for. Our puppy Fred needs lots of walks and attention and Iwona takes him on incredible walks both locally and further afield in beautiful countryside. She takes time to understand both of their needs and training requirements and makes them both feel safe, secure and happy. She is very experienced and provides pet sitting that goes above and beyond expectation. The house is very well cared for, and Iwona is always happy to accommodate deliveries and very understanding if here are any unexpected issues that need dealing with. On our return the house is immaculate and we find Iwona to be very trustworthy and thoughtful. I would wholeheartedly recommend.”

“Mackenzie was great with Nori and kept us updated throughout the day with lovely photos and messages. Communication was really easy and it was clear Nori was having a nice time. Thank you!”

“Lané was fantastic with Henry! Her communication was great throughout, and she was so friendly and easy to coordinate with. I’d happily use her again to pet-sit and would definitely recommend her to others.”

About: I’ve had animals all my life and have always loved caring for them. Friends and family often trusted me with their pets, so I’m comfortable with different personalities and needs. I’m responsible, caring and attentive, and I always treat every pet as my own.🐾❤️ I work as a freelance content creator, so my schedule is quite flexible. I’m happy to make time during the day to visit your pets, give them some love and attention, and become their new friend. 🐾 I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m happy to follow their usual routine and any instructions you leave for me. I’ll treat your home with respect and your pets with the same care and attention I would give my own.
“Sebastian was very communicative and fantastic with Chip, sends lots of photos and updates which is brilliant. Chip was very happy, had lots of exercise and play and of course snoozes! I would definitely recommend Sebastian”

“Our dog is quite a nervous rescue, and Savannah did a great job taking care of her for the full weekend while we were away. We’ve always had difficulty with anyone other than us taking her out for a walk, she tends to resist with anyone else, but Savannah was really patient, giving Nellie time to adjust to her, and managed to get her out for several walks. She even had Nellie following her around by the end of the weekend. We will definitely book again, thanks so much!”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a home filled with pets, including dogs, rabbits, parrots, ducks, hens, and many others. This experience has given me confidence caring for animals with a wide range of needs and personalities. More recently, we've helped care for our neighbours' pets, including an 18-year-old senior cat, tropical fish and a hedgehog. We also regularly look after our aunt and uncle's 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel, giving us hands-on experience with dog walking, playtime, and maintaining a dog's daily routine. My 10-year-old daughter shares my love for animals and enjoys helping with supervised playtime, brushing, and giving pets plenty of attention and affection. All pet care responsibilities, walks, communication, and supervision are handled by me as the adult account holder. I take the time to learn each pet's routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you're away. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, active play, quiet companionship, or lots of cuddles, I'll provide reliable care, regular updates, and treat them as if they were my own. We look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets! As I work from home, I'm able to pop in and check on pets during the day, though my main availability is in the evenings from 5pm onwards. I have a car, so I can get around the Wimbledon/Raynes Park area (within about 2 miles) quickly whenever needed. If anything comes up, I'm easy to reach on WhatsApp and will respond promptly. For house-sitting, I visit the pet owner's home at pre-agreed times and follow their pet's normal routine as closely as possible — feeding times, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions. Since I work from home, I'm around for most of the day to keep an eye on things, with more dedicated time free from 5pm onwards for walks, play, and settling in for the evening. I always prioritize keeping to the pet's usual routine wherever possible, so they feel comfortable and settled at all times.
“Evgeniya was a brilliant sitter. She arrived on time, asked all the right questions and sent photos during the day. When I arrived home, our dog was very content and settled (rare when I’m not around). I would recommend Evgeniya to anyone looking for a care and competent carer for their animal. I will definitely use her again.”

Kiah and Ed have been completely wonderful! They have gone above and beyond for us and our fur babies and we are so grateful! We had loads of pictures and felt so reassured the whole time. I’m pretty sure our cats prefer them to us now! Couldn’t recommend them more!

Alexa is a very calm and professional sitter who took time to understand us and our dog's needs. He and Lin kept in touch really well during our holiday and we felt really reassured that our dog was in good hands. He was also really flexible in accommodating an unexpected injury which our dog had sustained and needed additional care for. We will definitely re-book with him!
Andrea has been incredibly professional, kind, and caring. She took great care of our cats while we were away and kept us regularly updated, which gave us great peace of mind. When we came home, the house was clean and tidy, and our cats were happy, relaxed, and well looked after. We’re very happy with Andrea and will definitely book her again in the future. Highly recommended!

Suzanne provided an incredible service. She was very attentive and considerate when learning about our dog Winnie who has a few behavioural issues. Suzanne kept us well informed and was a fantastic house sitter - keeping everything clean and very kindly watering the plants for us. She also built up a great rapport with Winnie which is very difficult to do, We are so grateful to Suzanne and can’t recommend her enough.

This was our first booking with Isabel but will definitely book again. The dogs loved her even our nervous one. Isabel was calm (which Pablo appreciated) and asked the right questions. Shared pics with us and kept us informed about how they were doing. Thanks again Isabel :)

Kirsten took excellent care of Theo. She responded quickly to communication, was very professional but also friendly, kept us updated (including with lots of photos) throughout our trip, she looked after our flat and followed all instructions. No complaints at all and I would definitely use Kirsten to catsit Theo again!

Ashleigh was amazing with our 3 pets, 1 Maltese and 2 cats - they were smitten with her from the start and had the best time. Ashleigh kept in contact and sent us pictures and even went out of her way to change the bedding for us for when we returned from our holiday, making us have to worry about 1 less thing. Would definitely recommend Ashleigh 😁

Marie was fantastic at looking after our shy boy Hermes!! She was kind and professional and shared lots of photos and videos making us feel reassured whilst we were on holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and would love to have her look after Hermes again in the future

What a gem! Thank you Lane B, she looked after my Maltese for 10 nights & my dogs slowly warmed up to her, who have never been left alone before, I was at peace knowing they were in great hands! she went up & beyond, found the house as I left it, thank you so much, so grateful ❤️

Elena very kindly looked after my dog in my home when my usual sitter had a family emergency at the last minute. I was nervous about leaving him with someone new but he was immediately comfortable with Elena and I could see how good she was going to be with him. She was thorough in her questions about how to take care of him (including medications) even though it was a short one night sit. She sent lots of lovely photos so I could see how he was doing and I felt reassured enough that I could enjoy my time away. I would highly recommend her if you need a dog or cat sitter!

However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Merton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
