“We were delighted with how Andrea took great care of our two miniature dachshunds. They were happy and relaxed when we got home and we could see they had both been very well looked after. It was also lovely to come home to a very tidy house. Andrea sent us daily updates with photos and videos of our dogs, who were clearly having a lovely time. It meant we could relax and really enjoy our holiday. I would definitely recommend Andrea.”

“Liam has been fantastic. He was very patient with my dog letting her get used to him. He shared lovely updates and showed great care throughout the process. He came for a first meeting to meet the dog and understand her needs as wee. I can certainly recommend his services.”

“Rhiannon was amazing with the cats! She sent regular updates, ensured that they are well looked after. They did take few days to settle and get used to her, but she managed that quite well! She also took good care of the house and left it in pristine condition. Really appreciated her care and help! Would definitely recommend her and book her again ”

“Really good. Durga sat for ten days with our very boisterous and chubby Labrador Rocky. House and dog were very well looked after and we were super happy with everything. Would highly recommend Durga for sits or anything really and she’s very reliable and responsible.”

“Sophie and her boyfriend Ryan looked after Fergus at our house while we were away on holiday. They were fantastic! Fergus had a great time, and we got lots of updates which placed us at ease given it was our first time leaving him. They are really lovely people and great with communication. Plus they left our house clean and tidy!”

“Sam is a great guy. He's 100% reliable and trustworthy and was brilliant with my Cavapoo puppy 'Noodle'. Sam is really calm and reassuring and Noodle took to him straight away. It made me feel confident that Noodle was in very safe hands. I had a problem getting cover for one of the days I was away and Sam stepped in and saved the day. I will definitely be booking Sam again 😀”

“Savannah was great! Took the time to come and meet me and Pancake the day before, was always very responsive and Pancake had a great time with her. The fact that she is always very calm was great to make sure Pancake had no anxiety when we left the house.”

“Sebastian was very communicative and fantastic with Chip, sends lots of photos and updates which is brilliant. Chip was very happy, had lots of exercise and play and of course snoozes! I would definitely recommend Sebastian”

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Iwona to look after our pets. We have now used her for various sits including 2 2 week holidays. She takes excellent care of both our Cocker Spaniel puppy Fred (8 months) and cat Milly (5 years). Both animals are exceptionally well cared for. Our puppy Fred needs lots of walks and attention and Iwona takes him on incredible walks both locally and further afield in beautiful countryside. She takes time to understand both of their needs and training requirements and makes them both feel safe, secure and happy. She is very experienced and provides pet sitting that goes above and beyond expectation. The house is very well cared for, and Iwona is always happy to accommodate deliveries and very understanding if here are any unexpected issues that need dealing with. On our return the house is immaculate and we find Iwona to be very trustworthy and thoughtful. I would wholeheartedly recommend.”

“Elena was great. Easy to communicate with; flexible with us when our plans changed. Lola loved her and it was a massive help to have her keep her company during the day. Will definitely use again.”

“Esmeralda did an excellent job looking after my two dogs and the house whilst I was away for a week. She took the dogs out for lots of walks, always sending photos and they obviously really got on well with her. She also left the house in an excellent co futon when I got back. I’d be very happy to use her again and would recommend her to others”

Kiah and Ed were brilliant with both of our cats Byron and Junior and looked after our house and garden very well whilst we were away. Considering how tricky the set up is in our house they managed everything perfectly. We received photos and updates twice daily and communication was seamless. Wouldn’t hesitate to book them again and highly recommend.

Mel is just lovely. She was happy to meet us and little Soda pup before our puppy sitting dates. This made my husband I feel super comfortable about leaving our 3 month old pup at home for the first time. During puppy sitting Mel sent us photos and updates the whole evening and it looked like Soda had the best play date. We’d love to book with Mel again x

This was our first time using a dog sitter so we were quite nervous. We should not have worried. Alexei and Lin took time to get to know our quirky rescue dog and was not put off by her odd behaviour. They kept us up informed of how she was doing and outings they went on. The house was left lovely and tidy. We are so glad we picked Alexei and Lin. We would definitely use them again in the future.

Rebecca was absolutely lovely with our two dogs. They were completely happy and relaxed in her care, and it was clear they felt very comfortable with her. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and would definitely ask her to look after our dogs again.

Bianca is lovely and a fantastic cat sitter! She looked after my five kittens and their mum for a long weekend while I was up in Scotland. Bianca sent regular updates/photos/videos and it was clear upon return that all were well looked after. I would definitely have her back again.

Megan looked after our 2 Frenchies, one of which is still a puppy. We had a really great experience with Megan, especially as it was such a last-minute booking. She was super accommodating, sent plenty of photos and updates, and both dogs looked very happy and settled! Would definitely recommend her!

Isabel was great looking after Ariel! Ariel was really well looked after happy and relaxed when we came home. Isabel kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Isabel and would definitely ask her to look after Ariel again!

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Merton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
