“Alexei and Lin were very communicative and flexible when we had a change of plans last minute! Senny was very well looked after and we received lots of pupdates throughout the day! Would definitely book again!”

“Liam has been fantastic. He was very patient with my dog letting her get used to him. He shared lovely updates and showed great care throughout the process. He came for a first meeting to meet the dog and understand her needs as wee. I can certainly recommend his services.”

“Durga is fantastic! Highly recommend across all categories. She pulled together a plan to help us out last minute and was punctual, kind, communicative and a pleasure to work with. Thanks Durga!”

“Daniel looked after the dogs so well! His communication throughout the day was great and we could see the dogs were super happy and comfortable with him! He did an amazing job and the dogs were very happy and relaxed when I got back from work. I would highly recommend Daniel!”

“It was my first time using Rover so it was nerve-racking to leave my furbaby with a stranger. Am so happy that I selected Rebecca she was great, and spend loads of time with Louis. I am very happy with her and most definitely will use her services again.”

“Iwona did a great job of looking after Loki. She went out of her way to make sure he was happy. Iwona understands all different dog breeds including spaniels and is very confident with handling all their different needs. She made sure she gave him lots of exercise and stimulation and was very dedicated and caring. We received lots of photos while we were away and she ensured that we had complete peace of mind that both Loki and our house was well looked after.”

About: I am a relaxed, fast learning walker who loves to walk. I am experienced in taking care of dogs who require extra care and attention due to their behaviour. I'm currently working part-time, so that means I have plenty of time to walk, play and look after your dogs. I want to know the dos and don'ts with your dog so I can create a safe and relaxed environment so your dog isn't scared or uncomfortable. As a fellow owner with a nervous rescue I would never want to put your pet through any kind of stress. I have an up-to-date DBS which I can share upon request if I'm house sitting. Please tell me where I can stay, where is off limits and key information (such as the nearest vet, your pet's dietary requirements etc.).
“Merrily is a hit with our cats! She has taken a lot of time out to learn how to deal with our cat’s special needs, and it’s clear she understands and loves animals. We also had a lot of communication and photo/video updates during the weekend house sitting for us which was reassuring. Thank you so much!”

“Isabel came over to meet Kenzo before the sitting, which was great. She asked so many thoughtful questions about his care, and I immediately felt confident he'd be in good hands. She was wonderful about sending photos and regular updates while I was away, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend her!”

“We cannot thank Evgeniya enough for the amazing care she provided for our beloved dog while we were overseas for 20 days! From the moment we met her, it was clear that her love for dogs and animals is genuine and heartfelt. During our time away, Evgeniya made sure to follow our dog’s routine perfectly, keeping him comfortable and happy. She regularly sent us photos and updates, which truly put our minds at ease and let us know how well our pup was doing. It was heartwarming to see him enjoying his walks and playtime! When we returned, it was evident that our dog had been treated with love and care. He looked so happy and well-cared for, which is all we could have hoped for. If you are looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter, we recommend Evgeniya. Thank you again for providing such wonderful care for our furry friend! We’ll definitely be reaching out for future trips!”

“Elena was great. Easy to communicate with; flexible with us when our plans changed. Lola loved her and it was a massive help to have her keep her company during the day. Will definitely use again.”

“Jackson was absolutely fantastic as a sitter for Rufus. Incredibly polite, a calm and kind demeanour and really communicative - Jackson sent us some updates whilst we were away to show how Rufus was getting on. We would thoroughly recommend Jackson for dog sitting - he is very knowledgeable about dogs and Rufus definitely relaxed in his company. Jackson is extremely trustworthy too and thoughtful - he asked plenty of additional questions about what Rufus likes and dislikes. Thank you Jackson we will definitely use you again to look after Rufus!”

“Veronica did a fab job looking after our little fur ball. Meeting with her the day before we went away, gave me lots of reassurance that our kitten was in a safe and loving pair of hands. Veronica kept us updated daily with lots of photos of our happy kitty and we will be using her again when we go away for 4 days at the end of May. Thank you so much for being reliable and most of all for our happy kitty!”

Danielle was brilliant. She came over for a quick meet-and-greet with PJ beforehand, and then took great care of him while we were out for the evening. She was friendly, reliable and clearly great with him. I’d happily rebook Danielle and would definitely recommend her.

Liam is absolutely awesome! He was brilliant with my fur babies and gave them lots of TLC whilst also paying careful details to their needs. Very easy to talk to, almost scared to leave this review in case other pet parents swamp him with bookings 😃 my fur babies loved him and we look forward to seeing him again soon! Britain will lose a great pet sitter when he leaves for American shores! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Really good. Durga sat for ten days with our very boisterous and chubby Labrador Rocky. House and dog were very well looked after and we were super happy with everything. Would highly recommend Durga for sits or anything really and she’s very reliable and responsible.

Dan was an excellent sitter for our rather large dog Mila. He was very conscientious and accommodating to what we needed to keep Mila entertained and comfortable whilst we were away. I would highly recommend Dan to anybody looking for a trusted, kind and friendly person to look after their furry members of the family. Thank you again Dan! Mila already misses you!!

I had a great experience with Sarah, she took great care of Edie and my home for seven nights. Sarah was reliable, professional and caring throughout the booking. I received regular daily updates, photos and messages which have a great piece of mind. Edie was happy, relaxed and clearly well looked after. I came home to a relaxed, content cat and a clean tidy home. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a caring trustworthy cat sitter. I will definitely book with Sarah next time.

Our 3 year old cockapoo, Norbert, clearly loved being with Susana for the week. We came home to a content, well walked and properly fed dog. Susana sent us lots of photos and messages during the week so we could see how happy he was. Susana took very good care of our home and watered our plants :-) We would highly recommend Susana and hope she will help us again soon.

Yasmin is absolutely perfect at looking after animals, our dog arnie adores her so much and would have loved to have gone home with her. We were kept updated with messages pictures etc throughout the holiday putting our minds at ease. The first time I met Yasmin I knew she was perfect for Arnie, she answered any questions or worries we had with such ease she really is such a kind caring person . It’s made me so happy to think that when I next need a sitter that I can request Yasmin and hopefully get her to sit with Arnie again . I would just like to say that her prices are way below what she should be charging the service she provides is spot on. Thank you Yasmin from Arnie and us xx

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Merton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Merton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
