“Our dog Archie, a Labrador mix rescue with a few challenges, immediately felt at ease with Dominika and we were reassured seeing that she could handle him. He had a wonderful time, enjoying plenty of walks. Dom was excellent at keeping us updated, sharing regular messages, photos and videos so we knew everything was going well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

“Joana did a great job of looking after our cat and dog while we were away for the week. She visited in advance to meet them both. Communication was fantastic with lots of updates and photos, so we were always confident that they were both being looked after. The house was also well looked after. I would not hesitate to book her again.”

“It was our first experience with cat sitting through Rover. Xiangyi was brilliant! She met with us ahead of the booking to run through details and provided regular updates whilst we were away. It was reassuring to know our little floor cloud was being well looked after whilst we were away. I'd definitely recommend her, thanks Xiangyi.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 11. I walk all the time and love to take dogs with me. I often house sit for friends when they go on holiday and need their pets looked after! I’m working part-time at the moment so I have plenty of time on my hands to take care of pets. I go on long walks for photography and I love nature and a little furry company never hurts. A night in with a book and a pet by my side is my ideal night. I try to make pets feel comfortable by keeping to their usual routine. I make sure they’re fed, exercised, played with, and given lots of attention and care. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions and keep owners updated while they’re away.
“Beau has been amazing and I would highly recommend. Our dog Dottie was loved and cared for so well whilst we were away. Beau sent us regular updates so we could see how much fun Dottie was having and how relaxed she was. Beau looked after Dottie in our home and we came back to an immaculate house and a very happy Dottie 😊. Massive thank you again to Beau 😊”

“Hollie was fantastic. Woody was very happy when we returned and our house was lovely and clean. I would 100% recommend Hollie and hope she will be able to look after woody again in the future”

“Amelia was fantastic with our fur baby, Brodie. First of all, she was excellent at communicating with us from our initial enquiry through to the end of her pet sitting with Brodie. She sent lots of photos, followed instructions perfectly, wasn’t phased by potential rain and managed to get in a nice long walk with Brodie, and again communicated really well. We will definitely call on her again!”

“Sarah was really great with my dogs, and followed all the guidance I had about greyhound care and their routine for the day. Her communication was great. I would definitely ask Sarah to dog sit again.”
“Lauren was wonderful with our 16 month old cockapoo. He warmed to her right away and had a great day with her. Lauren shared regular updates, took him on a good walk and gave him lots of cuddles. Will definitely rebook! :)”

“Sonny had an absolutely wonderful time with Ganna when she came to look after him at my home. Lots of plays and walks and I came home to a very sleepy, calm and happy boy. Would definitely use Ganna again!”

“Alex took care of our dog Frida at our home while we were away for a long weekend. She was super communicative both before staying with her, making sure she had all the details, and during her stay, sending us regular updates and photos. She took good care of our home as well. We would definitely book with Alex again!”

“This is was my first time leaving my little ones properly in someone else's care and though a bit anxious Charlie has managed to put my fears to rest. The all up experience has been lovely, had all my questions answered and got constant updates. Will definitely leave them in his care again.”

About: Hello - I’m Rachael! Since I was young, I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and sizes for family and friends, providing calm, attentive, and observant care. I respect their space and ensure the home is secure at all times.

“We are first timers using Rover.com so were a little unsure how it would all work. We were handing over our home as well as our dog after all! We needn't have worried :) Ella was great. She took on board all we said about our rescued Staffy-X and her idiosyncrasies! We came home to a very relaxed, happy dog, after a twelve-hour house sit. Thank you so much Ella - we have already made another booking.”

It was our first experience with cat sitting through Rover. Xiangyi was brilliant! She met with us ahead of the booking to run through details and provided regular updates whilst we were away. I felt completely at ease leaving my two boys with Tanika. She sent regular updates and photos, which made such a difference while I was away. Milo and Finn were clearly relaxed and well cared for, and she understood their personalities straight away. I came home to two very happy cats. :) Highly recommend!

Ruthie was brilliant with Nancy our English Bulldog. I could tell immediately that Nancy felt relaxed and happy in her company. Ruthie followed my instructions perfectly and I felt completely at ease leaving Nancy in her capable hands! Would highly recommend and book again 🙂

Beau was very caring and looked after Sesame wonderfully. Even during the hot weather, he made sure Sesame was comfortable and well cared for. He followed all of the instructions we provided and kept us updated throughout. Most importantly, Sesame clearly loved spending time with him! We felt completely at ease knowing Sesame was in such good hands and would happily book with Beau again. 🐾

Elene was brilliant! She followed our care instructions perfectly and gave great updates throughout the day. Nancy warmed to her straight away and clearly felt comfortable around her even resting her head on her lap to take a nap! Would highly recommend and book again!

Joana was great! She looked after our cat really well - sent lots of pictures and gave him lots of cuddles. Feel comfortable having Joana look after him whilst we are away as she is a great communicator, really tidy and takes care in our home. Thank you Joana!

Kelsey was fantastic with our two dogs, Darcy and Duke. She took great care of them, kept us updated, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kingston upon Thames choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
