“Gave mango a wonderful weekend and clearly loves dog. Incredibly communicative and would recommend Dom to anyone who needs someone to take care of their dog :)”

“Hollie did an excellent job looking after my dog. She was very communicative, reliable and flexible throughout the whole process, sending me updates and pictures, not to mention my dog adores her. I came home to a happy dog and a home well taken care of. Can recommend, and would definitely book again in the future!”
“Joana did a great job of looking after our cat and dog while we were away for the week. She visited in advance to meet them both. Communication was fantastic with lots of updates and photos, so we were always confident that they were both being looked after. The house was also well looked after. I would not hesitate to book her again.”

“Amelia put us at ease with regular updates of our fluffy prince. Great communication and it was definitely obvious that he had fallen for her too as he gave her lots of cuddles. Amelia was very attentive and gave Winston some eye drops when his eye looked a bit weepy. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again soon.”

“Beau has been amazing and I would highly recommend. Our dog Dottie was loved and cared for so well whilst we were away. Beau sent us regular updates so we could see how much fun Dottie was having and how relaxed she was. Beau looked after Dottie in our home and we came back to an immaculate house and a very happy Dottie 😊. Massive thank you again to Beau 😊”

“Xiangyi looked after our kitten for 3 days whilst we were on holiday. It was the first time we had left her so we were a bit anxious about doing so. But Xiangyi was great with her and kept us updated so we knew she was happy, being played with, and eating and drinking. It made our trip much more relaxing knowing she was in such good hands and we will definitely be using Xiangyi again when we go away.”

About: I am an experienced dog walker, and have been responsible for walking my heavy boxer George through varied terrains. I would often walk more than one dog, as I have cared for my neighbors dogs before, who are a bit smaller than my boxer. I was responsible for my dogs behavior training, medication management (including regular and important medications now my George is an older boy) and trick training. I’ve also cared for my cat Izzy since she was a kitten, ensuring her well being and understanding feline behavior. I have also volunteered at my hometown animal shelter, walking and feeding dog all of different sizes, aswell as dealing with dogs that aren’t trusty of people or trained due to being abandoned. Although I don’t live with my pets anymore, I still see them as they live with my parents. I am currently fully flexible, so I am able to look after your pets this summer regardless of your needs. I am willing to come to any location and adapt to your needs. From ensuring my cat and my dog stayed safe and in the house in my hometown, which was a mountainous where a pet can easily be lost, i can assure I am a trustworthy attentive person.
About: Howdy, y'all! I grew up in central Texas where I helped rescue and re-home 6+ dogs from kill shelters in San Antonio -- walking, feeding, bathing, introducing dogs to new environments, and finding two of them their furever homes. 🏡 I've handled everything from bouncy puppies to senior dogs who just need a calm presence and a good longgg, slow walk. 🐕 Now based in Kingston, I specialize in dog walking and drop-in visits. My schedule is remote & flexible, so I can work around yours -- mornings, mid-afternoons, evenings, whatever your pup needs! I treat every walk like it matters, because it does :) For regular clients I already know and trust, I'm also happy to discuss boarding in my private top-floor room, which is calm, quiet, and fully separated from the rest of the house. 🐾 🐶 I work flexibly from home, which means I'm around most days and can fit walks and drop-ins into my routine without stress. The occasional commitment aside, my schedule is adaptable for mornings, afternoons, and evenings -- just let me know what your dog needs. In fact, I look forward to having an excuse to get out of the house! I'm based in a house where there's already a resident dog, so any pup coming to stay would be entering a dog-familiar environment, though I keep my solo top-floor room completely separate if you'd prefer your dog to have their own calm space away from the household. I'm experienced at introducing dogs to new environments and other animals from my rescue work, so I'm confident in managing the meet process carefully. Since I work remotely and flexibly, I genuinely love having a dog around on my Rover days -- whether that's a pup chillin' under my desk, hangin' out by my piano, or giving me the perfect excuse to take frequent walking breaks throughout the day! 🐾 🐶

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 11. I walk all the time and love to take dogs with me. I often house sit for friends when they go on holiday and need their pets looked after! I’m working part-time at the moment so I have plenty of time on my hands to take care of pets. I go on long walks for photography and I love nature and a little furry company never hurts. A night in with a book and a pet by my side is my ideal night. I try to make pets feel comfortable by keeping to their usual routine. I make sure they’re fed, exercised, played with, and given lots of attention and care. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions and keep owners updated while they’re away.

“Sarah was really great with my dogs, and followed all the guidance I had about greyhound care and their routine for the day. Her communication was great. I would definitely ask Sarah to dog sit again.”
“Sam is a great guy. He's 100% reliable and trustworthy and was brilliant with my Cavapoo puppy 'Noodle'. Sam is really calm and reassuring and Noodle took to him straight away. It made me feel confident that Noodle was in very safe hands. I had a problem getting cover for one of the days I was away and Sam stepped in and saved the day. I will definitely be booking Sam again 😀”

“Thank you Charlie & Siobhan! Jasper seemed to have a lovely time, and will be very excited to see you next time. We received photos & updates throughout the stay which was reassuring.”

About: I adore dogs of all shapes and sizes & I have looked after my friend’s Labrador, Cookie. I know about safe and unsafe leash habits and which treats to help them avoid and I'm observant as to when to offer cuddles or to give some space. Very keen to form a bond :) As a stay-at-home parent, I'm very flexible and free most days as I work part-time from home. So unless I’m away, I can usually do both weekdays and/or weekends :) Keen to meet local pet owners to lend a helping hand. I’m a 10-minute walk from Richmond Park! Perfect for longer adventures, where I always ensure any dog is on a leash (unless permitted to be let off.)
“Couldn’t be more delighted with Scott and Sarah. They cared for our little Frank with so much love. He adores them and has already been pining. Highly recommend and will absolutely book them again. Thank you for caring for our boy!”

“Karyna and Tom are excellent. Very good proactive communication and arrived on time. Our two dogs settled very quickly and enjoyed the evening. Karyna and Tom kept us informed throughout and even dealt with an unforeseen power cut very calmly. Highly recommend.”

“Siobhan kindly watched our dog over the Christmas holidays while we visited family abroad and we are so grateful! As always, Archie was well cared for and very happy. We received regular updates and our house was very clean when we returned home. We have known Siobhan for years and she is highly recommended!”

Beau was very caring and looked after Sesame wonderfully. Even during the hot weather, he made sure Sesame was comfortable and well cared for. He followed all of the instructions we provided and kept us updated throughout. Most importantly, Sesame clearly loved spending time with him! We felt completely at ease knowing Sesame was in such good hands and would happily book with Beau again. 🐾

Gail was absolutely wonderful with our little Noodle whilst we were away, even during a blistering heatwave. She was so kind and attentive, sending many photos and keeping us updated on how he was doing. She also left the house spotless and went above and beyond to treat the home with respect. Thank you so much Gail!

Elene was brilliant! She followed our care instructions perfectly and gave great updates throughout the day. Nancy warmed to her straight away and clearly felt comfortable around her even resting her head on her lap to take a nap! Would highly recommend and book again!

Joana was great! She looked after our cat really well - sent lots of pictures and gave him lots of cuddles. Feel comfortable having Joana look after him whilst we are away as she is a great communicator, really tidy and takes care in our home. Thank you Joana!

Kelsey was fantastic with our two dogs, Darcy and Duke. She took great care of them, kept us updated, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy dogs and couldn't be happier with the service. We can't wait to book with Kelsey again and would highly recommend her!

Karyna and Tom are excellent. Very good proactive communication and arrived on time. Our two dogs settled very quickly and enjoyed the evening. Karyna and Tom kept us informed throughout and even dealt with an unforeseen power cut very calmly. Highly recommend.

Ryan “RT” stayed for 2 nights in our house and looked after our 2 cats, Eric and Hattie. He handled complexities in feeding and medications with ease, and stayed in touch/sent photos via Whatssapp. Both we, and the cats warmed to him immediately and we hope he can cat sit for us again in the future 😊.

Scott and Sarah did a great job looking after our two cocker spaniels while we were on holiday! They also sent us regular updates and pictures, so we were able to enjoy our trip knowing the boys were being very well looked after! We would definitely recommend them to anyone else looking for someone to look after their pets.

Xiangyi looked after our kitten for 3 days whilst we were on holiday. It was the first time we had left her so we were a bit anxious about doing so. But Xiangyi was great with her and kept us updated so we knew she was happy, being played with, and eating and drinking. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
