“Lauren was wonderful with our 16 month old cockapoo. He warmed to her right away and had a great day with her. Lauren shared regular updates, took him on a good walk and gave him lots of cuddles. Will definitely rebook! :)”

“If my cats are happy, then I am happy and Roxanne ensured they were happy and comfortable! Even my very timid girl posed for her daily photos and showed some affection. Thank you Roxanne! Hope you enjoyed their company too.”

“Joana took care of our dog and house for a week whilst we were away. We received regular pictures showing Gina eating, walking, playing and sleeping. We were reassured Gina was happy. The house and the dog were very clean and tidy on our return. I would certainly recommend Joana and will use her again.”

“Great experience with Banita. Cant recommend highly enough. Made my dog feel at ease as soon as they met (appreciated meeting my dog before the booking). Very confident and I can tell my dog had a great day with Banita (14 hours) whilst I had a very long day in London Thank you”

“Beatrix was absolutely fantastic. We came back after more than a week to a happy kitten - and she had also looked after our house so well. We will definitely use her again, and can not recommend her enough”

“Esmeralda did an excellent job looking after my two dogs and the house whilst I was away for a week. She took the dogs out for lots of walks, always sending photos and they obviously really got on well with her. She also left the house in an excellent co futon when I got back. I’d be very happy to use her again and would recommend her to others”

“Amelia was fantastic with our fur baby, Brodie. First of all, she was excellent at communicating with us from our initial enquiry through to the end of her pet sitting with Brodie. She sent lots of photos, followed instructions perfectly, wasn’t phased by potential rain and managed to get in a nice long walk with Brodie, and again communicated really well. We will definitely call on her again!”

“Mel was an amazing sitter for our little pup Monty. We particularly appreciated her open communication style and her regular updates on how Monty was doing during the day! Highly recommend her, and we will certainly be happy to rely on her again in the future.”

“Our miniature dachshund Peanut had the best day with Emma! She was so caring and fun, giving him lots of play and cuddles, sent me lots of updates and took great care of the house. We’ll definitely book Emma again!”

“We had a great experience! She took wonderful care of Sundae and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, which gave us real peace of mind. Sundae looked happy and relaxed when we got home. We’d definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Sundae! ❤️”

“Gave mango a wonderful weekend and clearly loves dog. Incredibly communicative and would recommend Dom to anyone who needs someone to take care of their dog :)”

About: Me and my partner Carlo have loved and looked after pets from a young age. I work from home, so I’m around throughout the day and can easily follow your pet’s usual routine, including walks, playtime, and feeding schedules. Keeping pets comfortable and sticking to the routines they’re used to is really important to me. I love looking after both cats and dogs and providing a safe, calm space where they can relax while you’re away. I always aim to make pets feel at home and give them plenty of attention, care, and affection so their stay feels like a little holiday. I’ve had experience caring for both cats and dogs through having my own pets and looking after those of friends and family. I also cared for my senior cat for many years, so I’m very familiar with understanding cats’ individual personalities and needs. I’m calm, attentive, and always focused on making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I work from home and have flexible schedule that allows me to give regular walks and spend time with your pets throughout the day. I also live near good walking spots for dogs with plenty of space to run around I am happy to cuddle your pets, play with toys, give walks in the park near my home and provide any care necessary to the pet.

“Charlie is an amazing dog sitter! He watched my dog, Bellatrix, for 24 hours while I was on a short work trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Bella can be nervous around new people, but Charlie was incredibly patient and accommodating with her quirks. This was actually the second time he’s watched her, and both times, she’s warmed up to him quickly and seemed relaxed and happy in his care. He was professional, punctual, and kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

About: I am a dog lover with experience of Frenchies, Goldendoodles, Bulldogs, Staffies, King Charles Cavaliers and Sausage Dogs. If you are a dog owner in the local area, the chances are I have already approached you to say hello to your pooch and give them a good scratch behind the ear! I love hanging out with dogs and sadly my cat ownership makes full time dog ownership impossible, so I would like to find a different way to spend time with dogs and make the most of the beautiful local area.
“Hollie did an excellent job looking after my dog. She was very communicative, reliable and flexible throughout the whole process, sending me updates and pictures, not to mention my dog adores her. I came home to a happy dog and a home well taken care of. Can recommend, and would definitely book again in the future!”

About: I've taken care of dogs ever since I was 12, walking dogs for neighbours, looking after dogs for weeks at a time during holiday periods, and frequent dog walking and care for friends now. I love spending time with and caring for dogs and have a positive, active nature . Currently working from home frequently and have a flexible schedule, so plenty of time to walk and care for dogs. Happy to do dog walks morning, afternoon or evening time. I have a fenced garden and plenty of quiet, safe walking routes nearby to enjoy on dog walks. Safe, family friendly environment with lots of calm, open spaces to enjoy.

Inge did a fantastic job looking after our Charlie! Charlie liked her from the first moment he saw her! She took him for multiple walks and toilet breaks throughout the day. We came home to a very tired and happy dog, which was great to see. Communication was always smooth and efficient, with prompt responses, which helped me to build trust with Inge straight away. I would not hesitate to book with her again, and I highly recommend her to all other pet owners out there. Thank you!

Dominika took amazing care of our dog Maya. She was extremely communicative and provided plenty of updated photos and videos throughout the week. It was clear Maya loved her stay with Dominika and she was very well taken care of. We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Charmaine agreed to look after Nancy very last minute which we were extremely thankful for. She turned up early so I could give her a run down of where to take Nancy to the toilet and other care instructions which we really appreciated. Nancy warmed to her immediately and they seemed to have a lovely day together. Nancy even dragged her into Starbucks for a pupachino 😂 Thanks so much Charmaine for all your help. You were fab!

Joana looked after my dog, Stanley. Her communications for both the meet and greet and sitting were excellent. She sent timestamped pictures throughout showing that feeding and walking instructions were being followed and providing a lot of reassurance. My dog was very happy. Would definitely use again.

Great experience with Banita. Cant recommend highly enough. Made my dog feel at ease as soon as they met (appreciated meeting my dog before the booking). Very confident and I can tell my dog had a great day with Banita (14 hours) whilst I had a very long day in London Thank you

I can’t recommend Carla highly enough. She immediately understood our very lively but rather nervous Springer spaniel, Poppy. We were able to leave confident that Poppy would have a good time and that Carla would be able to handle any situation. Carla was equally comfortable taking Poppy for a long walk, playing endless games of ball or just cuddling on the sofa. I will most certainly use Carla again and both Poppy and I look forward to her next visit.
Ryan looked after Sophie so well for the second time. Sophie is an elderly and loving dog that can’t walk far but does still enjoy a walk. Sophie seemed really happy when we got back and the house was immaculate (despite I am sure some elderly dog bodily function issues) Thank you for looking after Sophie and the house so well and sending pictures and videos.

Venice had a lovely time with Christie. Christie kept us updated with photos so we had no concerns and we could see Venice was more than happy. Venice was calm and settled when we returned home at the end of the week. We highly recommend Christie as the perfect cat sitter.

- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
