“Lara does a great job with our cat, who requires special care due to some health issues. She lets the cat guide her. Our cat is not very affectionate, but Lara almost got a lap on her first visit! She must clearly be doing something right! Lara is organised, communicated very well and is excellent at setting expectations about availability. Highly recommend!”

“Wonderful sitter. Roxana sent us wonderful daily updates with many pictures. Cats were definitely We could not recommend her enough. She also left our house spotless and lots of shopping, which was definitely not expected”

“Georgia was great with mine and my sister’s dogs. We were kept up to date throughout the evening and received pictures of what the boys were up. Georgia is super friendly and would absolutely book with her again.”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of experience. I’ve looked after dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes for friends, neighbours, and family. But most important to me were my two lovely labradors who are sadly no longer with me (but both lived wonderful long happy lives). That’s why it would mean a lot to have the chance to spend time walking, cuddling and caring for your dog. I now have two lovely cats so am also experienced in cat care. I treat every pet like my own—with love, patience, and plenty of belly rubs! I also have experience with rabbits, hamsters, and fish. I’m available full time for walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays. I’m happy to discuss regular schedules or one-off bookings that fit your needs! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ll stick to their routine as closely as possible—from feeding schedules to walks and playtime. I take the time to build trust with each pet so they feel secure and loved while you’re away. At your home, I’ll treat your space with respect and ensure your pet stays relaxed in their familiar environment. I’m attentive, tidy, and always keep a close eye on behavior, mood, and any signs that your pet needs extra care or support.
“Amelia was fantastic with our fur baby, Brodie. First of all, she was excellent at communicating with us from our initial enquiry through to the end of her pet sitting with Brodie. She sent lots of photos, followed instructions perfectly, wasn’t phased by potential rain and managed to get in a nice long walk with Brodie, and again communicated really well. We will definitely call on her again!”

“We are so picky and can honestly say we are 100% delighted to have found Emma! Our two boys were happy , settled and very waggy when with Emma. We can honestly say we have found the doggie sitter for us and we can now have a little time away with total peace of mind! Amazing!”

“April has just done an overnight sit for me. April was absolutely great and having met her and pre agreed all the arrangements I felt completely relaxed and at ease leaving my pug Pearl with her. I had a wonderful time away and didn’t worry once knowing that Pearl was being well cared for. This was the first time I had used April and Rover so it was all new to me and April was absolutely brilliant explaining things to me. I would not hesitate to use April again for a dog sit she would be the first person I would ask for sure!”

“Sam is a great guy. He's 100% reliable and trustworthy and was brilliant with my Cavapoo puppy 'Noodle'. Sam is really calm and reassuring and Noodle took to him straight away. It made me feel confident that Noodle was in very safe hands. I had a problem getting cover for one of the days I was away and Sam stepped in and saved the day. I will definitely be booking Sam again 😀”

“Seffie was a great match for Shirley, who can,on occasion, not be the easiest of dogs as she is reactive to a lot of other dogs on walks, and in public places.Seffie had the kindness and confidence to manage her well, and carried out instructions to the letter.I received daily updates on Shirley's welfare, and was confident that she was being looked after(and indulged!)as she would be by me.In conclusion,I was extrenely happy and would have no hesitation in recommending Seffie to anyone that is looking for a compassionate and capable sitter.”

About: I've taken care of dogs ever since I was 12, walking dogs for neighbours, looking after dogs for weeks at a time during holiday periods, and frequent dog walking and care for friends now. I love spending time with and caring for dogs and have a positive, active nature . Currently working from home frequently and have a flexible schedule, so plenty of time to walk and care for dogs. Happy to do dog walks morning, afternoon or evening time. I have a fenced garden and plenty of quiet, safe walking routes nearby to enjoy on dog walks. Safe, family friendly environment with lots of calm, open spaces to enjoy.
“Lucy and Reece were very responsive and friendly. They kept us really well updated with how Roux was getting on and we felt very sure that he was in safe hands! Clearly experienced dog people, they dealt with Roux excellently, especially as he’s a boisterous young puppy! They also took great care of our house - we’d definitely recommend them to anyone!”

“We felt very confident leaving our one-year-old lurcher in Tarja’s capable hands for the evening. She was punctual, engaged well with our dog and seemed very calm and unphased by his energy and bounce! We returned several hours later to a quiet house and a very relaxed dog. Thank you, Tarja!”

Zoe was lovely! Very gentle with pancake who took to her very quickly. Kept us informed with messages and pictures, did exactly what we asked and took the time to meet pancake ahead of the sitting day, which does wonders for a shy dog. Would definitely book again.

Danielle was able to help us out with our dog Reuben very last minute which we were so appreciative of. She also did an amazing job looking after our dog, excellent communication and really took the time during a meet and greet to get to know Reuben. We will definitely be using her again! Very happy 😊

It was the first time for us using Rover and Sally was absolutely wonderful. She came to visit our dog and I at home before we went away and straight away we all knew that our dog would be in safe and capable hands. Sally took time to understand if there were any specific needs that our dog had and talk through our routines, feeding habits and anything else that helped to ensure our dog was happy and settled. Sally is kind, loving and obviously loves the company of animals. She looked after our home beautifully and it was so nice to be away, not have to worry and receive daily updates with some great photos of our dog having the best time. I would highly recommend Sally. Sally is respectful, trustworthy and most importantly kind and caring to animals. We came home to a spotlessly clean home and very happy pooch. We would definitely book Sally again.

Ross looked after my gorgeous girls so well and I am glad to have found him. Both dogs took to cross immediately. Would definitely use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a sitter. Enjoyed the pup updates and thank you for keeping the house clean even though I said I didn’t care..

Holly was the perfect cat sitter for us — proactive, responsible, and communicative. She followed our instructions for Pushkin perfectly, and we soon relaxed into our holiday in the knowledge that he was in really good hands. We came back to a very smug and satisfied cat, and a very tidy home, which we truly appreciate! Would definitely recommend Holly to other cat owners, and we will definitely book Holly again.

Margo is a loving warm an caring person. She looked after my beagle boy for 2 weeks. She sent regular updates and news on his general wellbeing. I loved how she got to know him and commented on his unique behaviours and habits. I will definitely use her services again. Thank you Margo and Max.

I had a wonderful experience with Johanna. She was so thoughtful and came by a few days beforehand to meet my puppy, which really put me at ease. During her time with my pup, Johanna very kindly sent pic updates, and clearly is a natural with dogs. I came home to a happy puppy and couldn’t be more grateful. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter 🐶

Maya is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter / house sitter. She took care of my special needs dog with utmost consideration and patience. She is kind and friendly. My dog loved her from the moment she met her! We are grateful for Maya and will absolutely welcome her back to our home to take care of our girl.

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
