“Zoe looked after our little pomeranian Wolfie on the hottest day of the year at a whooping 35degrees. She took so much care in ensuring his paws and belly were kept damp and cool often with water to help him cool down. She provided regular status updates on how he was doing and made sure a fan was on for him at all times. I would recommend Zoe for anyone!!”

“Seffie was a great match for Shirley, who can,on occasion, not be the easiest of dogs as she is reactive to a lot of other dogs on walks, and in public places.Seffie had the kindness and confidence to manage her well, and carried out instructions to the letter.I received daily updates on Shirley's welfare, and was confident that she was being looked after(and indulged!)as she would be by me.In conclusion,I was extrenely happy and would have no hesitation in recommending Seffie to anyone that is looking for a compassionate and capable sitter.”

“Amelia put us at ease with regular updates of our fluffy prince. Great communication and it was definitely obvious that he had fallen for her too as he gave her lots of cuddles. Amelia was very attentive and gave Winston some eye drops when his eye looked a bit weepy. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you again soon.”

“Sally was amazing from start to finish. She looked after our 3 year old cockapoo Teddy in our home for a week while we were on holiday. Sally sent daily photos and updates about Teddy which were lovely to receive- he looked happy and as if he was enjoying himself in every photo! We will definitely be using Sally again as she is friendly, kind and reliable and was patient and understanding regarding Teddy’s special needs and anxieties. Thanks so much again Sally!”

“Roxana was so wonderful with my elderly dog Kookie. We got the funniest updates and loads of pictures all day which was so reassuring. She took excellent care of my princess pooch 🫶❤️🐶”

“Couldn’t be more grateful to have found Jess. She helped us out at very short notice, coming to stay and look after our cat & dog. She left our home beautifully, and the boys very happy. I’d recommend her in a flash.”

“Thomas took wonderful care of our dog, Luka. He kept us regularly updated with messages and photos, which really put our minds at ease and allowed us to fully enjoy our holiday. It was clear that Luka was in very good hands. If we have the opportunity in the future, we would absolutely love to ask Thomas to look after Luka again. Highly recommended.”

“Lara does a great job with our cat, who requires special care due to some health issues. She lets the cat guide her. Our cat is not very affectionate, but Lara almost got a lap on her first visit! She must clearly be doing something right! Lara is organised, communicated very well and is excellent at setting expectations about availability. Highly recommend!”

“Megan and Harry were just amazing. They came to stay in our home with our two dogs and took the best care of them. They were able to keep our dogs in their own routine, and this meant, when we got home, they were calm, relaxed and happy. I had complete faith in Megan and Harry, Megan even has a animal first aid qualification, so I really did not worry for a minute as I new they were in safe hands. I am so pleased with how things went, Megan and Harry will be my go-to dog sitters from now on. I can't thank them enough!”

“Gave mango a wonderful weekend and clearly loves dog. Incredibly communicative and would recommend Dom to anyone who needs someone to take care of their dog :)”

“My puppy had a fantastic time being looked after by Julia, she is so caring and sends lots of regular updates of walks and play time. I would recommend Julia to anyone, her love for dogs and taking great care of them is clear to see. My dog can’t wait to visit again!”

“So so happy that we have found someone who understands the needs of both of our boys, I am sure they were very disappointed to see Emma go home!! The first time I have ever truly relaxed and not worried about our boys, knowing they are being loved and cared for as though we were at home! Thank you so so much Emma! 🐾🐾❤️”

About: Having been an animal lover since I was a child, I had my first puppy at age 9, and have been looking after friends and neighbours’ pets for about 5 years. I’ve been entrusted with feeding, exercising, grooming, comforting and cherishing their pets according to instructions, and I would be privileged to extend my high-quality care to your pets too. I also have experience with anxious pets, and so can guarantee a caring service to help your pet still feel at home. I’m fully available for pet-care whilst looking for a new full-time role. I can provide live-in services up to 12 miles away from home, and can help with walks and play times closer to. I follow the instructions as set by owners in relation to their pets home-care, feeding and exercise. Walks and runs are usually conducted around the neighbourhoods or near green spaces and parks, whilst home care usually means a lot of play-time and snuggles.

“Tarja is amazing! She’s so kind and patient and caring with our nervous dog, Faith. Lots of updates and photos to let us know how our dog is getting on. It’s always a relief to know she is such safe hands. Thanks Tarja!”

From our first contact to a ‘debrief’ call after, Ross was professional and reliable, and made us feel confident that our dogs would be looked after well. He was happy to see come over before hand to meet the dogs, and us. While we were away we loved the regular photo updates and could see both dubs were happy and at ease with Ross and Courtney. House also was spotless when we got home. Really appreciated the feedback afterwards too. Thank you so much for looking caring for our pouches so well! Will definitely use again.

Zoe looked after our little pomeranian Wolfie on the hottest day of the year at a whooping 35degrees. She took so much care in ensuring his paws and belly were kept damp and cool often with water to help him cool down. She provided regular status updates on how he was doing and made sure a fan was on for him at all times. I would recommend Zoe for anyone!!

Seffie has looked after my two indoor boys twice now- first for a weekend and then again for a longer 4‑night holiday. I really appreciated the regular photos and updates, which made such a difference while I was away. My cats have just turned 1 and can be a bit nervous with new people, but they looked so relaxed and comfortable in every photo Seffie sent. :) I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing they were safe, happy, and well cared for! Thank you, Seffie, for taking such lovely care of them.

Holly was the perfect cat sitter for us — proactive, responsible, and communicative. She followed our instructions for Pushkin perfectly, and we soon relaxed into our holiday in the knowledge that he was in really good hands. We came back to a very smug and satisfied cat, and a very tidy home, which we truly appreciate! Would definitely recommend Holly to other cat owners, and we will definitely book Holly again.

Margo is a loving warm an caring person. She looked after my beagle boy for 2 weeks. She sent regular updates and news on his general wellbeing. I loved how she got to know him and commented on his unique behaviours and habits. I will definitely use her services again. Thank you Margo and Max.

I had a wonderful experience with Johanna. She was so thoughtful and came by a few days beforehand to meet my puppy, which really put me at ease. During her time with my pup, Johanna very kindly sent pic updates, and clearly is a natural with dogs. I came home to a happy puppy and couldn’t be more grateful. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter 🐶

Maya is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter / house sitter. She took care of my special needs dog with utmost consideration and patience. She is kind and friendly. My dog loved her from the moment she met her! We are grateful for Maya and will absolutely welcome her back to our home to take care of our girl.

Thanks Ella, for a second booking - looking after our girl in our home – she was again happy and relaxed when we arrived home, not overly excited to see us, which tells me she was absolutely fine with Ella :) have no hesitation in recommending Ella. for an all day house/dog-sit in your home

Jenna looked after Pickle and Taco (and our home) for 10 nights. Pickle is relatively low maintenance but Taco has anxiety and is VERY vocal, which can be tricky to deal with. Jenna handled Taco's issues with compassion, patience and understanding - showing a great deal of empathy in the process and making us feel a lot better about leaving him with a 'stranger'. She was proactive in finding new ways to help settle him down and never once complained. She was communicative the entire time, sending plenty of updates and responding in a timely manner. We had told her in advance she was welcome to have guests over but she still checked in to make sure it was okay before having anyone over. There was also a day where she needed to be out of the house for an extended period, during which she kindly had her mom stop by to check on the cats and make sure Taco had his medication. We came back to two healthy, happy cats and a clean house that had clearly been looked after. All in all, we are very happy with the service and would gladly book Jenna again (in fact, we have already!)

Lewis looked after our two boxers who are high energy one who is currently only 6 months and the other is only just two. Lewis was amazing, reliable and looked after them only how I could have wanted. He provided us with photos and updates for the 4 days we were away. The boys loved him. Lewis also looked after are home impeccably. I have no qualms in rebooking him or recommending him. He was brilliant.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Elmbridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elmbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
