“From the numerous pictures and videos sent it certainly looks like Teddy had the most wonderful stay. We are so glad to have found Raul. The fact that he only looks after one dog at a time is very reassuring. We will definitely ask Raul to look after Teddy in future.”

“Alexandra and her family yet again do an amazing job of taking care of Mabel. We always get so nervous leaving her but as soon as we drop her off we feel totally at ease and are able to enjoy our break. We get kept in the loop with lots of updates and Mabel comes back very happy and very tired from all the amazing walks she goes on. Thankyou and we will see you again soon!”

“Kristina was great! An excellent communicator who kept us updated throughout the weekend. Our dog looked very happy in the photos and videos. I would recommend Kristina.”

“Gabriela was fantastic with Tuco. Her communication was prompt and excellent, and she made a real effort to understand his care needs before boarding. I’d highly recommend her.”

“First time using Rover for our Irish Terrier and Diane put my nerves to rest. Very responsible, warm and clearly a dog lover! When I collected my dog he looked relaxed and happy, he even went back to say goodbye! Would recommend Diane for all breeds, especially those with more personality like Irish Terriers.”

“We couldn’t have been happier with Luna’s stay at Laura’s house! Laura took great care of Luna and she were sending us updates with photos and videos throughout her stay there! We would definitely recommend Laura for pet sitting and boarding! Luna cannot wait to go back and play with her friends again! Thank you for everything, Laura!”

“I left my whippet in Sally's hands and he was very well cared for. He went on walks, Sally made sure he was the most comfortable at night and I received regular updates with pictures. It was just like being at home for my dog and I'm sure he never even missed us at all!”

“Millie can be a little nervous in new environments, so we knew this stay might take her a bit of time to settle. It did come with a few challenges, but Ornela handled everything with great care, patience, and understanding. Communication was excellent throughout, and we really appreciated the regular updates and the effort made to keep Millie comfortable and supported. We’re very grateful for the care and attention given — thank you again for looking after her so well. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ornela to anyone — she’s a very caring and understanding person.”

“Dovi did a great job dog sitting our puppy whilst we were on holiday. Regular updates and Saffy returned more mature and calm after the socialisation with Dovi’s dog Hugo. Thank you Dovi!”

“Hunter had a great time making a new friend and took full advantage of the safe outdoor space to play in! He was cared for perfectly and we were given plenty of updates to see just how much fun he was having without us! 😅 Hunter can't wait for his next holiday with Bruce and family!”

“Polite, friendly and very accommodating. Very grateful for Johanna be patient with our fairly anxious Labrador. He looks like he had a great time - highly recommend Johanna as a sitter. Best, Amy and Sam”

“Ebony absolutely loved her stay with Ineta and her family. Ineta sent me regular updates with pictures which I really appreciated. She also picked up Ebony and dropped her back home (so so helpful!) as well as doing daily visits to our home to check in on our cat. Ineta was very flexible and accommodating to Ebony’s needs and I had total peace of mind. Will definitely be booking with Ineta again! I highly recommend her services to anyone wanting a loving home for their pooch whilst they are away or in need of care.”

“Fiona looked after my little Jack russel for 9 days whilst I was away on holiday. My dog was very well looked after - she was well walked, she kept up with the multitude of medicines and eye drops my dog is prescribed and also sent me regular updates and photos! Would definitely use her again, she was very friendly and very enthusiastic about having Mia around.”

About: After nine wonderful years with our beloved Neapolitan Mastiff, we recently said goodbye to her. We’re not quite ready for another dog of our own, but we really miss having a four-legged friend around and would love to share that care and affection with other dogs. We’re a dog-loving married couple with a 9-year-old daughter, living in a house with a secure fenced garden. My husband works from home full-time and I’m also home around half of the week, so dogs staying with us will have plenty of company, attention and cuddles. We’ve recently been looking after our neighbour’s dog and have really enjoyed it, which inspired us to open our home to other dogs too. We understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone, and we’ll treat every dog staying with us as part of the family. About: I grew up around dogs and have always loved them. I have taken care of dogs of all ages including hosting them overnight. I also have experience with young puppies who are being toilet trained (though I have not trained them myself), so am used to puppy pads and lots of trips outside! I am flexible and can work from home 2 days per week, which I can work around based off of dog sitting responsibilities. I am also available on weekends if required. When working from home I am able to take breaks to go for walks, play with your dog and make sure they have been to the toilet and are comfy and happy! I don’t own a pet, I have a fenced garden. I live right next to the river and a 10 minute walk away from bushy park so lots of green space for walks. I also live by a street of dog friendly cafes.

I cannot even begin to say how amazing Raul and good lovely wife are. They looked after our Mimi so well! Raul sent constant updates reassuring us with what Mimi was doing. We were so happy and completely assured of Raul and his love for our Mimi. Mimi is the visited water and us very queen in her personality, he understood everything we asked him to do with mimis routine and. He couldn't have been more attentive. He got her to eat which is a hard job in itself because she's very fussy. Thank you Raul and family we look forward to many more stays with yourself!!
I highly recommend Johanna and Caleb. Summer settled in quickly and had a lovely time and especially enjoyed being included in all activities such as a lunches out etc. Johanna kept me updated with photos and as soon as we met her and Caleb, I was confident that Summer would be well looked after.

Was quite nervous leaving Toby (Beagle) with a dog sitter for the first time, however I had no need to be as Alexander put me at ease from the initial meet and greet. I was supplied with photo’s during my dogs stay and could see he was enjoying his time away and getting on well with Ghost (Husky) the sitters dog. I would certainly recommend Alexander and would have no hesitation in booking again myself should I need to in the future. Stephen Swan

Elsie had a fabulous 2.5 weeks with Leana, Eliot & her new bestie, Maple. We missed her so much but with regular photos and updates we were confident and happy that she was having as good a holiday as we were! We will have absolutely no hesitation in booking again. Thank you!

Tyson was so well looked after by Annabelle and her family. Tyson is a unique character with his quirks and I wanted him to stay somewhere where I knew he would get the attention he would at home. We did a meet and greet with the family dog, Tyson settled well, we got daily pictures where I could see that he was enjoying his holiday and could see the big smile on his face! We’d definitely book with Annabelle again when we go away. Thank you so much for looking after Tyson and ensuring he enjoyed his holiday too!

We have always used Tatiana, She's such a lovely lady, she looked after my two dogs Alfie and Ava while I was on hoilday, she always keeps me updated and sends pics and videos, Ava get abit nervous but tatiana re sure her and ava was settled and happy, thank you so kuch for looking after them both xx

Amelia was absolutely fantastic looking after our quirky dog, Coco, while we were away on a family holiday. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she genuinely loves dogs and took the time to understand Coco's unique personality, routines, and little quirks. Throughout our trip, Amelia kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us complete peace of mind that Coco was happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention and attection. It was obvious that Coco felt comfortable and relaxed in her care. We returned home to a very happy dog, and we couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Amelia is reliable, caring, and professional, and we would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone special to look after their beloved pet. Coco is looking forward to visiting again soon. ❤️

Thank you so much to Christina, Mark and Archie for the most amazing stay for Teddy. Saw loads of photos of him doing loads of swimming and early morning and evening walks in the hottest week of the year so far. Thank you for looking after him so well and it was lovely to meet you before hand for our little walk to chat about Teds and what he needs. He’ll definitely be back to see you. Thank you 🙏😍

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
