“We would give 10 stars if we could- fantastic care and lots of lovely updates which stopped us worrying while we were away. She was having so much fun and obviously really comfortable with Raul and Twiggy. Thank you for putting up with her foibles and providing a wonderful holiday home for her- I couldn't recommend highly enough.”

“Fiona looked after my little Jack russel for 9 days whilst I was away on holiday. My dog was very well looked after - she was well walked, she kept up with the multitude of medicines and eye drops my dog is prescribed and also sent me regular updates and photos! Would definitely use her again, she was very friendly and very enthusiastic about having Mia around.”

About: I’ve been friendly with dogs my whole life and frequently dropped in to look after my neighbours dogs. I currently have a lovely springer a home. I am available all day every day to spend plenty of time with your pup - all dogs are welcome! Size, breed and age don’t matter :) I have just finished my A-levels and am planning to do a gap year so I am available the entire week to play with and pay attention to your dog! Two walks a day is standard with the first usually in the late morning. A second walk also usually takes place between 4-6 depending on energy levels. I have a fenced garden roughly 20x30m, so plenty of space to play ball and searching games. I have a male (neutered) springer spaniel who is very friendly at home, he's currently 2.5yrs so I am very used to a moderately high energy dog.
“Natalie has been amazing with my 4 year old labradoodle, Romy. Romy is usually nervous at first when boarding for the first time however appeared to be relaxed and settled in well with the whole family. Natalie kept me updated with photos and regular updates and is really easy to communicate with to arrange boarding dates. I would highly recommend her and my pup is already looking forward to her next stay with Natalie.”

“Anna and her family are lovely. Very considerate. I got regular updates about Ripley which is really nice as I appreciate knowing that he is happy. Thank you. I will definitely book again”

“Cassie has been looked after again this week by Liz and Alexander who provided us with updates through the day. Cassie is always excited to visit Liz’s home and ha a great time there.”

“We cannot praise Natasha and her family enough. Natasha has been amazing in making sure Suki was comfortable with her and met her a couple of times before we left Suki with her. We felt very confident when we dropped Suki off especially it being the first time we would be away from her. During the stay Natasha took photos and gave daily updates. It was obvious what a blast Suki was having. We are very lucky to have found Natasha; she will definitely be the first person we would consider for the next time we need to board Suki.”

“Thank you, Roselyn, for your excellent care of Jasmine. She was very relaxed in your presence, and it was so nice for us to know that she had a kind and caring companion while we were away. And, thank you for the photo - Jas relaxing and taking in the scenery! Where were you?”

“Mac had a great time staying with Kristina, she took excellent care of him and sent me daily updates to let me know he was fine, and also how he was eating/sleeping which was a great relief for me.”

“Cathy looked after my dog Rio for a week whilst we were at a family wedding in the midlands, I couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care she provided. I was kept regularly updated with messages and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Rio looked so happy & relaxed in all the updates and I know he enjoyed his time with Cathy’s dog Bailey, along with all the other fur friends he met on walks! He had plenty of walks, playtime and cuddles 🥰 I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their dog. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again! 😊🤎 🐾”

“This is an absolute home-from-home for Bingo, we get total peace of mind that he's in wonderful hands & he has a relaxed, fun, stimulating day/overnight stay, with lots of doggie company. Bingo's confidence has grown & spending time with David, his own dog & his other lovely canine guests has definitely been a significant factor. Many thanks”

Raul is the most caring and patient sitter, we wouldn’t trust Archie with anyone else. We received daily updates, photos and had peace of mind while we were away. Raul and his family took Archie out to explore, he relaxed in the garden and enjoyed some play time! He came back a very happy boy <3

Amelia was absolutely fantastic looking after our quirky dog, Coco, while we were away on a family holiday. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she genuinely loves dogs and took the time to understand Coco's unique personality, routines, and little quirks. Throughout our trip, Amelia kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us complete peace of mind that Coco was happy, well cared for, and getting plenty of attention and attection. It was obvious that Coco felt comfortable and relaxed in her care. We returned home to a very happy dog, and we couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Amelia is reliable, caring, and professional, and we would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone special to look after their beloved pet. Coco is looking forward to visiting again soon. ❤️

Thank you so much to Christina, Mark and Archie for the most amazing stay for Teddy. Saw loads of photos of him doing loads of swimming and early morning and evening walks in the hottest week of the year so far. Thank you for looking after him so well and it was lovely to meet you before hand for our little walk to chat about Teds and what he needs. He’ll definitely be back to see you. Thank you 🙏😍

Tom was an amazing sitter for Tobias. Very personable and a really great guy who cares a lot for looking after dogs. I cant recommend him enough! Took him on good walks and gave him a proper bath when he rolled in a muddy ditch. He was a very happy dog when we picked him up 😊

Susie and family always take incredible care of Edie, and make it feel like home for her. Susie is quick in all communications, and makes the whole process so easy. Edie absolutely adores the family and gets so much attention and love from them during her stay. The perfect balance of professional and loving, I’ll always go to Susie for when we’re away!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
