“I don’t think 5 stars is enough for Raul and his wonderful family. Our little guy felt right at home, and we felt so safe to leave him. Raul sent lots of pictures, and we knew he was in good hands. Thank you, Raul for treating our dog as family!”

“Brownie loves staying with Kim and John! They treat him as he was their own. He has been staying with them a few times and each time he is well looked after with all the care and cuddles he needs. We have been kept updated throughout the holidays....they are just fantastic people. Cannot recommend them enough!”

“Blu had an other great time with Diane. She is always so well taken care of and seems to enjoy herself. I will gladly recommend Diane to other dog owners. She’s kind, loving and caring towards them.”

“This was our first experience using Rover and we couldnt be more pleased. Kristina and family looked after our 12 year old Cocker like a member of the family. So much so I was worried if he would in fact want to come home with us! Daily updates and photos were received to keep us reassured. Kristina also didn't hesitate to help us when our flight was delayed with a last minute extra night of boarding. A fabulous Rover experience, thank you Kristina and family!”

“Erika is amazing! My little dog had such a happy time staying with her. She was always attentive to Chuck’s needs and never forgot to send me photos, which really helped us feel reassured while we were away. It was very reassuring to have Padma, Venkat and Shanti help look after Max once again. We were able to go on holiday with peace of mind knowing Max was being well cared for. Their recorded updates were lovely to see. It was also good for Max to mix with the other dogs. It was clear Max had a good time staying with the family being very happy at pick up time to go back and forth between all of us. Padma was also very accommodating when we came to pick Max up a little later than planned due to flight delays. Thank you so much for looking after Max so well.
As a first time boarder of an elderly dog, I was anxious about leaving Lady with strangers for a number of reasons. I didn't need to worry however. Greg and his family provide a positive and nurturing environment for dog boarding. Communication was good, he accommodated changes in timings and dates and was more than happy to oblige with needs for Lady. The house/garden are perfect with plenty of room, clean and safe. Lady entered a very calm and warm space and felt the benefit of it. I received adequate updates whilst I was away. She was very happy and settled when I picked her up and I felt she could have stayed longer. Massive thumbs up from us if you are looking for a calm, solid family to care for your pet. I wouldn't hesitate booking up with Gregory again.

We were so lucky to find Gabriele when we were looking for a doggy sitter. Gabriele is very professional and great with dogs. We received frequent videos of Diego, enjoying pack life with Gabriele's other dog guests and it was evident that he was having the time of his life. Gabriele also offered to pick up and drop of Diego which was a big help when we were rushing to get ready for our holiday. This is what gold standard service looks like. Thank you Gabry!

Molly had a great time with Julia. She seemed very tired when she got home which is a sign she had a very good stay. Julia was really attentive, sending us photos of what Molly was up to. Also very grateful to Julia as Molly needed some medicine whilst we were away and Julia took over that with no issues. Julia was very easy to communicate with and responsive which was great.

Edita and her family were incredibly warm and welcoming — Skye settled in with them straight away. We loved receiving regular pictures and videos, and it was clear she was enjoying her walks, cuddles, and naps. Skye came home happy and relaxed. We’d highly recommend Edita, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again soon.

We needed a boarder for eight days with relatively short notice. Catarina was available, and we were lucky she was. We just picked up our dog today and he seems like he had a fantastic time with her. He has his personality quirks, just like every dog, but she handled everything my dog could throw at her with the highest level of professionalism and competency. I can’t recommend Catarina highly enough!
Vanessa was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter for Rex. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start, she was incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made everything so much easier for us. She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which was really reassuring. It was clear that Rex was not only well looked after, but truly happy and comfortable the entire time. He settled in so well with her, and that peace of mind is priceless. I would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking her again!

This was our first time using Liliana and she was so lovely. She took great care of our dog for the night and made the whole experience really easy. We received lots of updates throughout, including pictures and videos, which gave us real peace of mind. We would definitely recommend Liliana and would love to have her look after our dog again.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
