“Buddy has had an amazing stay with you. All the pictures that where sent you could see he was having the best time. Which was great for us knowing he was happy, we could relax and egg out our holiday.”

“Bizhen did a great job looking after Teddy. She sent me lots of pictures and updates so I that I could see he was having a nice time and was looked after. He’s a nervous dog but he seemed to be getting on fine and was even socialising with another dog so he must have felt relaxed”

“Wiola and her partner Adrian looked after Pippa for a long weekend and were fantastic with her. They kept me updated with photos and videos throughout. Will definitely book with them again next time we're away!”

“Millie can be a little nervous in new environments, so we knew this stay might take her a bit of time to settle. It did come with a few challenges, but Ornela handled everything with great care, patience, and understanding. Communication was excellent throughout, and we really appreciated the regular updates and the effort made to keep Millie comfortable and supported. We’re very grateful for the care and attention given — thank you again for looking after her so well. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ornela to anyone — she’s a very caring and understanding person.”

About: We are a family of dog and pet lovers and have had our own dogs for many years. We have Snoopy (beagle) at home and have reared him since he was 8wks old. He loves lounging at home with his family and meeting other dogs on his tours of the local area / community. We are home based (self employed) and have an enclosed garden for Snoopy to show your pooch around. Husband and wife both work from home so give lots of attention to our four legged companions. Regular walkies plus enclosed garden at any other playtime… The dogs are never left on their own as we both work from home. Snoopy, our beagle is well socialised and will welcome other dogs into our home. We have an enclosed garden that the dogs have full access to.
“We'll most certainly look for Coco to be with Yesmin for our future travels as it was a vet positive experience. Thank you for all you have done for Coco !”

“Archie and I cannot thank Ineta and her family enough for all the loving care of Archie this week while I had to go deal with an emergency up North. Ineta was very kind to step up last minute to care for Archie and send lovely updates, photos and videos. Archie had a wonderful time, was loved and looked after very well. He and Ineta's sons had the best time playing as well. Ineta is also very fit and healthy and took Archie on very nice walks and to his appointments this week. Highly recommended, caring and responsible sitter.”

“Sandra was very kind, caring and accommodating of Sydney’s needs (who hadn’t had a dog sitter since being a puppy so was somewhat unknown quantity). Would highly recommend :)”

“George and his partners Georgia were fantastic! They were kind and gentle towards Odie which gave us a great first impressions. They maintained Odies routine and provide us with plenty of photos. Highly recommend. Hopefully they will be free when we next need them.”

“Very kind and caring of an old dog who needs lots of love and careful dispense of medication. She sent reassuring photos and nothing was too much trouble”

“Diana and her family were so lovely and kind with my dog, Holly! I was looking for a caring person who owned a large dog and would be able to handle my young, energetic and sometimes "chatty" Goldendoodle, but also a family that Holly would be comfortable with. I feel so lucky to have found the perfect family! Diana sent me photos and videos of Holly and my dog absolutely loved her and Akira, their beautiful, sweet dog. I will absolutely book with Diana again!”

“Ruthie was just wonderful with our cockapoo! He stayed overnight with her and was so well looked after. Ruthie met us beforehand and the communication was amazing throughout the stay. I would not hesitate to recommend her and will definitely book Ruthie again to look after our boy!”

“We’ve left our dog with Jeanette before and each experience has been consistently excellent. they’ve been reliable, communicative, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. It’s always reassuring to know our dog is in safe, capable hands. Thanks”

“Highly recommend Elizabeth as a pet sitter! Taking care of an older dog requires extra care, and Elizabeth was exceptionally patient. The communication was excellent, she is always positive and proactive. My dog was very happy under Elizabeth’s care, thank you!”

“John and Matt are brilliant with our Cane Corso, Simba. They have taken care of our Simba several times now, and he absolutely loves going there and always comes back calm, happy, and so well looked after. They treat him like family, and it honestly gives us complete peace of mind every single time. We’re really grateful to have found them, can’t recommend them enough!”

About: Dog lover with experience looking after dogs of all ages and sizes. I love going for regular walks around Richmond and would enjoy this even more so with additional company. I am often working from home and am able to take dogs out multiple times during my work day for toileting and exercise breaks. I can usually be flexible with pick up and drop off times. I have a secure and dog friendly home where I can easily take them outside supervised as needed/at their request! I also have enough space inside where I can play with balls and toys to keep them stimulated.
“Thank you Deirdre for looking after our little man! Loved receiving the photo updates! Friendly & Professional - would love to book you again if you'll have him! Thanks :) Highly recommend”

About: If you’re looking for a reliable, caring dog walker who can provide regular weekday walks, I’d love to help. I’ve always loved dogs and enjoy nothing more than being outdoors with them. Whether your dog is full of energy and loves long walks or prefers a gentler pace with plenty of sniffing stops, I’ll make sure every walk is suited to their individual needs. I understand that many owners have busy work schedules, so being dependable, punctual and consistent is really important to me. You can count on me to arrive on time, follow your dog’s usual routine and treat them with the same care and affection that I give my own dog. I’m patient, trustworthy and organised, and I know every dog is different. I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s personality, favourite walking routes and any specific requirements they may have. After each walk, I’ll send you an update and photos so you can see how much fun they’ve had. Building long-term relationships with both dogs and their owners is something I really value, and I’d love to become someone your dog looks forward to seeing each week. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged best friend 😊 I currently work part time mostly from home so I have plenty of time to take care of your dog. I walk dogs daily and I have a car for further afield walks and to drop and collect your dog if required. We are a family of 5 with 3 older children that love bring around dogs. I have a fenced in garden and I have a dog myself. I have plenty of space to look after 3 dogs ( including my own) and it’s important to me as it is for you that the dogs are all happy being around each other.

Sam and Alice did a fantastic job with Roxie. They had a lovely balcony and from what I can tell she loved sitting outside on it and just watching the world go by. I had regular updates on Roxie and what she’d been up to and she absolutely seems to have enjoyed her stay with them. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again!

Bizhen was amazing! She looked after our slightly anxious working cocker spaniel for 5 days whilst we were away on holiday and, from the many photos and videos we received, he seemed relaxed and settled throughout. It helped us to enjoy our holiday knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. Everything worked very smoothly dealing with Bizhen and she was always very responsive and on top of things. I hope Archie can enjoy many more stays with her!

Gabriela looked after our dog Honey, Honey has never been looked after by anyone else, other than family, I can say she was very happy, when we picked her up and all the updates, we received gave us a peace of mind that she was well loved and looked after, thank you so much. We would definitely use your services again.

Ganna looked after my 13 year old beagle Willow for 2 weeks and was exceptionally caring. I had no worries at all leaving Willow in her care and trusted her to administer her daily medication. Willow enjoyed socialising with Ganna’s dogs has returned home looking happy and healthy! I would not hesitate to use Ganna again!
Jeanette and Andrew were absolutely wonderful with Toffee! I couldn’t have asked for better people to look after her. From the moment I picked her up, it was obvious how happy, relaxed, and well cared for she had been, she came home completely herself and in such a great mood. I felt completely at ease knowing Toffee was with them, and I’m incredibly grateful for all the care, attention, and love they gave her. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jeanette and Andrew to anyone looking for kind, trustworthy, and genuinely caring sitters. We would be very happy to leave Toffee with them again ❤️

Paige was a wonderful dog sitter looking after Milo for 2 weeks. We received regular updates and photos, he enjoyed his daily walks and outings with Paige and her lovely dog Benny! We highly recommend Paige and wouldn’t hesitate to have her look after Milo again. He came back very happy! Thank you Paige

Sarah has an innate affinity with dogs and she understood Teddy’s personality and needs from the moment we first met. Teddy formed a strong bond with Sarah and was so happy and relaxed in the calm and loving environment of her family home. Sarah’s communications were lovely to see, especially Teddy making himself completely at home! Sarah was on top of his medication and dietary needs and I had utmost confidence and peace of mind throughout his stay. Teddy absolutely loved his stay with Sarah and came home stress free, calm and happy (and perhaps quite pampered 🤩) and I cannot recommend Sarah more highly.
We feel incredibly grateful and lucky to have found Chris, Emma and Django. From the moment we met them, we had such a lovely feeling about leaving Pitu in their care and they completely exceeded our expectations. Pitu had the most wonderful time with them. It was our first time leaving him for such a long stay (15 nights) and as any dog parent will understand, leaving your dog for that long can be difficult. But knowing he was happy, loved and so well looked after gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Django was also so welcoming and gentle with Pitu and it was lovely to see them become little friends 🐾❤️ Chris and Emma sent us photos and videos every single day, which meant so much to us. Seeing Pitu so relaxed, happy and enjoying himself made us feel like he was having his own holiday too! They truly looked after him as if he were their own with so much love, care and attention. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you so much, Chris, Emma and Django for taking such wonderful care of our little boy. We feel so lucky to have found you and will definitely be coming back to you for Pitu’s future stays. We couldn’t recommend you highly enough! Gracias !!!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
