“Marina was kind, reliable, and took excellent care of Pippin during his stay. She kept me updated regularly with photos and text messages, which gave me great peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Marina to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter.”

“Abby came through for us when I was worried we wouldn't find the right care for our Darcy when we went to attend a wedding. All throughout communication was clear and prompt. We visited Abby's home before finalising the stay. She and her family are lovely and perfectly at ease with visiting dogs. Darcy was instantly at home too! During his stay, Abby sent us regular updates and photos/ videos. He's come home happy and gave Abby and Fudge a cuddle before leaving 😊 We'll definitely be booking Abby again x”

“Harry was incredible for our pup. Front the start, Harry was incredible communicative and detail oriented in his approach to finding out about our pup. With a weeks long stay looming and our first time leaving him with a stranger for this long, Harry eased our worries by offering two meets up prior. Hamish enjoyed walks often and Harry made sure to give us lots of updates and photos whilst we were away. It was clear Hamish was more than content with Harry. From the photos, you could tell he was incredibly relaxed and loved all the cuddles and attention he got. Would not hesitate booking Harry again. Just wished he stayed around the UK longer so we could use him as our go to sitter! 🤪”

“This was such a last-minute request (literally 15 minutes!), but James still accommodated us so we could enjoy the nearby theme park. He was an absolute lifesaver that day! Really kind, approachable, and went above and beyond. 100% recommend – amazing service! Thank you for looking after our Loki ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“We honestly couldn't have wished for better people to look after our precious puppy, Nikko. Leaving your puppy for the first time is incredibly emotional, but from the moment we met Anidora and George, we felt reassured. They completely exceeded every expectation we had. Throughout Nikko's nearly five-day stay, Anidora kept us updated constantly with photos, videos and thoughtful written updates from morning until night. It meant the world to us to see how happy, relaxed and loved he was every single day. They took the time to listen carefully to everything we told them about Nikko beforehand and followed his routine beautifully. They even managed to do something we didn't think was possible – they calmed down our energetic six-month-old Jack Russell puppy! They took him on plenty of walks, helping him adjust his toilet routine while staying away from home, and gave him all the physical and mental stimulation he needed. What truly stood out, though, was the genuine love and affection they showed him. They didn't simply "watch" our dog; they welcomed him into their family. He received endless cuddles, kisses, playtime, training, attention and quality bonding time, just as he does at home. It was so clear from every update that Nikko wasn't just another booking – he was treated like one of their own. Their lovely little one also deserves a special mention. The bond that developed between them and Nikko was absolutely heartwarming. They became the best of friends, playing together, caring for him and making him feel completely at home. When we arrived to collect Nikko, they even planned a beautiful surprise by bringing him to greet us in such a thoughtful way. Watching his excitement when he realised Mum was there genuinely melted my heart. It felt like the kind of magical reunion you see between a parent and child, and it's a memory we'll treasure forever. Most importantly, Nikko came home happy, relaxed, confident and clearly full of love for them. That says more than words ever could. Anidora and George have earned our complete trust, and they've certainly earned Nikko's love too. We won't hesitate to book with them again—they have officially become our go-to sitters, and we cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for kind, trustworthy, caring people who will treat their dog like family. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts. We know Nikko is already looking forward to his next stay!”

About: Our family have always had pets and as a child dogs were a permanent fixture. As an adult we have had small animals, a loving cat and presently a cockapoo. I am willing to care for dogs and cats and particularly like dog walking. I am happy to have well behaved, fully trained, family friendly dogs in my own home. I am a retired nurse and teacher with some time on my hands. I'm available most weekends and at the end of the week. I may have grandchildren at the house so can only board dogs who are good with children. I am happy to play and walk your dog. I have a fenced garden and large house. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the furniture and beds. They will need their own food and toys. Our dog Mabel does not live with us all the time as she is my daughter's dog and mostly lives in Wales. She comes to us for holidays.
“Teddy had a wonderful week with Shirley, he came home happy and healthy. I was sent photos and details every day, which was very reassuring. I would happily rebook in the future!”

“We were thrilled to find Roger and Barbara. After meeting them we knew it was the right place. Our little Bean can be anxious but he settled well, we were confident that we were leaving him in very safe hands. The photos abs walk details are great to get and he came home absolutely exhausted! We will be regular visitors.”

“Christian was amazing with Buster, sometimes Buster has anxiety but he was in extremely good hands and thoroughly enjoyed his stay. I was confident that Buster would be safe and happy with Christian”

“Emily was great with Redd. She kept me updated every day with pictures and I felt comfortable that she knew how to manage a big dog. Her dog Tony is adorable too. Definitely would recommend and Redd will be visiting again whenever we need her. Thank you Emily x”

“Kobe had a great stay with Mel and her husband during the Easter holiday. We met with Mel before the stay to ensure everyone was happy and for Kobe to be familiar with Mel. We had regular updates with photos throughout the stay. Mel was extremely flexible with pick up and drop of times after our flights were changed. Mel and her husband looked after Milo, our cocker spaniel for 11 days while we were on holiday. He had the time of his life! Lots of lovely daily walks, cooling off with paddling in a dog friendly river and a first time trip on a bus which he enjoyed! He was cared for and loved by Mel and her husband with lots of lovely photos daily for us to see him enjoying his fun days, and lots of cuddles! Mel and her husband were the best dog sitters and we are very happy to recommend their services and wouldn’t hesitate to give them 5 stars.

Our boy had a wonderful time with Abby and her family. They looked after him so well - he went on wonderful walks and was very happy there - not sure he wanted to come home and is certainly missing his new fur pals he made during his stay. Great communication before and during his stay. Can't thank you enough and would not hesitate to recommend.
Thank you John and Eleni for taking such good care of our Duke. He obviously had a great time and the many pictures and updates were much appreciated. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we certainly won’t hesitate to contact you again and warmly recommend you 😊

We are so happy we found Julia and her lovely family. ❤️ From the very beginning, Julia was kind, thoughtful and kept us updated with lots of photos and videos, which meant so much to us. Lulu is a sensitive little dog and we were naturally a bit nervous leaving her, but she was so well looked after and genuinely treated like one of the family. It was lovely to see how well she got on with Ruby too. When we picked Lulu up, she was happy, relaxed and her usual playful self. She settled straight back at home, ate her dinner as normal and was actually calmer than after any previous boarding stay, which really says it all. Thank you, Julia, and thank you to your lovely girls for giving Lulu so much love. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and would happily leave Lulu with you again. 🥰🐾

Georgina and her family took wonderful care of Sammy for 8 days while we were away. She regularly sent us updates and photos, which gave us real peace of mind, and it was clear from every update that Sammy was happy, relaxed, and having a great time. He enjoyed beautiful walks, loved spending time with the other dogs, and it was obvious he was treated like one of the family. When we collected him, we could tell he had been genuinely well cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Sammy with Georgina again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter.
Angela was very personable and it was clear from our meet and greet, that Louis would be comfortable with her and little Millie . Louis was well looked after. We received updates and pictures. He was happy and able to fit in seamlessly. Very happy to leave him again . Thank you Angela .

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
