“Abby and her family were wonderful sitters and took great care of Milo. They played with him loads, walked him regularly and were very kind and sensitive to his peculiarities and when he was scared of the thunderstorms. We are very grateful and would highly recommend them.”

“Shirley and Chris did a wonderful job looking after our dog twice this summer, a 9 night stay and a 3 night stay. Both times we felt very reassured and relaxed that Ginny was being very well taken care of. Shirley sent daily photos/videos which we loved. Thanks again Shirley & Chris! 🐶 we feel lucky to have found you 🐾”

“Roxy was absolutely amazing with our very energetic Retriever/German Shepherd cross! Had her for 5 nights. Fabulous communication. Met us twice before. Literally perfect. Super person. Can’t recommend enough.”

“We reached out to Paris last minute to look after our two beagle girls for a spontaneous weekend trip away. She was friendly, very communicative, and we knew we were leaving our girls in very safe hands 🐾🐶 Toki and Millie had a lovely time - we received regular pupdates, belly rubs and walks! Paris was also really accommodating when our return flight was delayed. We’d highly recommend Paris to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter. Thank you again”

“James looked after our precious Angel, who was very happy on collection (and via photos), which speaks volumes! James is very attentive to every detail of the care plan and has such a love for animals which is extremely clear! Instantly put our mind at ease and made his furry guest most welcome too. Would definitely recommend James! 🐶💗”

“Anidora and her husband George are brilliant pet sitters. They looked after our cat with lots of love and care, ensuring she is comfortable in their home. They were very flexible and allowed me to settle her before leaving. They posted lots of photos and updates throughout the day, which was so helpful and reassuring. We used their pet boarding service twice already and will definitely continue to use it in the future.”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and all throughout my family and looked after them numerous times whilst family and friend go on holidays or a weekend away. Since moving out I’m missing my furry friends and would love to care for yours. I’m good with all types of dogs any age, I also love taking dogs out and seeing them enjoy time outdoors. Please message me if you have any further questions. I’m currently working 8 hours a week and it’s very flexible work so i have lots of availability to take care of your pets. I have a lovely maisonette in the heart of Epsom 5 minute walks from the park, I have spacious living room great for playing with the fur babies.

“Harry was incredible for our pup. Front the start, Harry was incredible communicative and detail oriented in his approach to finding out about our pup. With a weeks long stay looming and our first time leaving him with a stranger for this long, Harry eased our worries by offering two meets up prior. Hamish enjoyed walks often and Harry made sure to give us lots of updates and photos whilst we were away. It was clear Hamish was more than content with Harry. From the photos, you could tell he was incredibly relaxed and loved all the cuddles and attention he got. Would not hesitate booking Harry again. Just wished he stayed around the UK longer so we could use him as our go to sitter! 🤪”

“Henry had a wonderful stay with Barbara and Roger. We had lots of updates (walkies maps, photos, videos). Henry even came back really clean - thanks for looking after him so well xxx”

“Mel is a super star dog carer, giving our 4 year old cockapoo all the love and attention he needs haha. Lots of pictures and updates throughout to put us at ease - he was clearly a happy boy and really enjoyed his stay with Mel and her hubby. We will book again!”

“Gaby looked after Winnie for 3 nights and was absolutely wonderful. Winnie was taken for regular walks and really looked after. Gaby very kindly kept us updated with photos of Winnie and was really accommodating. Will definitely use Gaby again”

“Anna was fantastic - so kind and our dog obviously had a wonderful stay. A lovely home and family environment. We were sent updates and photos whilst away which were great to receive. She was taken on nice walks and was very relaxed and at home when we went to collect her. Would highly recommend Anna and hope to book her again for next year - thank you!”

About: Hi! I'm Melissa, and caring for animals has always been one of the biggest passions in my life. For the past 10 years, I've volunteered with animal rescue organisations in both the UK and China, where I've had the privilege of caring for animals and helping them find loving forever homes. During that time, I've fostered six cats in the UK, as well as five adult dogs, two puppies and a kitten in China. Every animal has taught me something new, and I've become confident caring for pets with different personalities, routines and needs. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so my priority is making sure they feel safe, comfortable and cared for while you're away. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles or simply a calm companion to keep them company, I'll take the time to get to know them and care for them as if they were my own. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and in safe hands. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! I have full-time availability and a flexible schedule, allowing me to accommodate weekdays, weekends and last-minute bookings. I'm happy to discuss your pet's routine and work around your preferred drop-off and pick-up times whenever possible. I provide a safe, calm and caring environment where every pet is treated like part of the family. My home is a bungalow with no stairs, making it suitable for pets of all ages, including senior dogs or those with mobility issues. I also have a fully fenced and secure garden where pets can safely enjoy time outdoors under supervision. I understand that every pet has their own routine, so I'll follow their usual feeding, exercise and sleeping schedule as closely as possible to help them feel settled. I'm experienced using crates if this is part of your pet's routine and will always respect your preferences and instructions. There are several lovely parks and walking routes nearby, and I have access to a car, allowing me to take dogs on regular walks or travel if needed. Having volunteered with animal rescue organisations and fostered both dogs and cats, I'm experienced caring for pets with different personalities and needs, and I always take the time to ensure they feel safe, happy and loved while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.

About: Our family have always had pets and as a child dogs were a permanent fixture. As an adult we have had small animals, a loving cat and presently a cockapoo. I am willing to care for dogs and cats and particularly like dog walking. I am happy to have well behaved, fully trained, family friendly dogs in my own home. I am a retired nurse and teacher with some time on my hands. I'm available most weekends and at the end of the week. I may have grandchildren at the house so can only board dogs who are good with children. I am happy to play and walk your dog. I have a fenced garden and large house. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the furniture and beds. They will need their own food and toys. Our dog Mabel does not live with us all the time as she is my daughter's dog and mostly lives in Wales. She comes to us for holidays.

Loulia is wonderful! She and her family were so attentive and caring towards our little dog. He had such a fun and action-packed stay I don't think he missed us one bit (which is what we'd hoped for). Loulia sent us photos and videos each evening so we could enjoy our holiday knowing he was having the best time. Perfect!

Our spaniel Oscar had a great time on his first 4 day holiday at Ross and Darren's lovely home. They made my children and I very welcome when we took Oscar for our meet and greet, Oscar felt straight at home and loved their spacious garden and their 2 adorable dogs! The pick up and drop back home service also greatly appreciated. Oscar came home very happy and is looking forward to his next holiday there🐾

Georgina was lovely and very reassuring from the beginning. The house has a big garden with plenty of space for dogs to roam around and Nala came back absolutely exhausted, having had a lovely time. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Nala with Georgina again in the future! Thanks for having her 🙂

Christina and her family were amazing looking after our labrador Isla for two weeks at relatively short notice. Her communication from the outset was responsive and she took the time to get to know Isla before agreeing to the sitting to ensure she was the right sitter, which I really appreciated. Christina provided updates and pictures throughout the period and we could tell Isla was being well looked after. Thank you Christina!
Juste was amazing. Very caring with our Nala and very communicative to us during our 2 week holiday. She sent pictures very frequently and commented on her wellbeing, especially given the hot weather and how Nala was coping with it. We have a GPS tracker on Nala's collar and we saw through the app how frequent and where Nala was being taken for walks and we are very happy as she looked fully engaged in the walk videos, was playing fetch and dipping her paws in water pools/quiet rivers. Throughout her stay with Juste. Will definitely trust our Nala again in a future ocassion.

A big thank you to Emily and Tony for hosting Bobby for a week while we were on holiday. Emily was very friendly, reliable and fantastic at ensuring we had regular updates of how he was doing including photos. We would be more than happy for her to look after him again in the future.

Mel and her husband looked after Milo, our cocker spaniel for 11 days while we were on holiday. He had the time of his life! Lots of lovely daily walks, cooling off with paddling in a dog friendly river and a first time trip on a bus which he enjoyed! He was cared for and loved by Mel and her husband with lots of lovely photos daily for us to see him enjoying his fun days, and lots of cuddles! Mel and her husband were the best dog sitters and we are very happy to recommend their services and wouldn’t hesitate to give them 5 stars.

Thank you John and Eleni for taking such good care of our Duke. He obviously had a great time and the many pictures and updates were much appreciated. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we certainly won’t hesitate to contact you again and warmly recommend you 😊

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
