Kim and John were great with Lola, keeping her entertained all day and even managing to tire out her high energy levels. Felt comfortable Lola with them in their conservatory and enclosed garden

About: Hi, we’re James and Alice! We understand that leaving your dog with someone else requires a massive amount of trust. As experienced dog owners, our goal is to provide a safe, loving, and reliable "home away from home" where your dog can seamlessly slot into a healthy, happy routine. We share our home with two friendly resident dogs: Albus (a playful 5-year-old Shih Tzu) and Houdini (a sweet, 7-year-old rescue Kokoni who is an absolute lap dog). We are a predominantly adult-only household, meaning our home environment remains calm, predictable, and focused on the dogs. When we first adopted Houdini, he was a bit of a rescue escape artist (hence the name!). Because of this, we took no chances: our secure garden is now completely enclosed and 100% escape-proof. You can rest easy knowing your dog can explore the grass safely and securely. We generally prefer more chilled-out dogs who enjoy a mix of structured walks and relaxing while we work, but we are absolutely happy to welcome higher-energy dogs as long as they are friendly with other pups. Albus loves a good play session, and Houdini is always happy to share the space. Whether your dog wants to fetch a ball, enjoy a structured neighbourhood stroll, or just curl up next to our desks during a meeting, we can't wait to welcome them into the pack! Because we both work from home full-time, your dog will never be left alone for long stretches. We have a wonderfully structured daily rhythm that keeps our dogs content, relaxed, and well-behaved: 7:00 AM: First walk of the day (30 minutes). If the weather permits, we head to the field to throw the ball for Albus. (Houdini remains on an extended lead - for obvious reasons 😂) 7:30 AM: Breakfast time, followed by a morning nap in the kitchen while we log on for work. 11:00 AM: A second 30-minute leg-stretcher walk around the local streets. Afternoon: Plenty of garden breaks for toilet trips and fresh air. 5:30 PM onward: Evening wind-down, dinner, a post-dinner snack, and plenty of sofa cuddles in the front room. Weekends: We love taking advantage of our free time with longer, scenic weekend walks. Because we have our own two dogs, Albus and Houdini, safety and harmony are our top priorities. All introductions start with a mandatory "Meet & Greet" in the days / weeks beforehand to ensure a great fit. Once a guest arrives, initial interactions are strictly supervised. Because we work from home full-time, guest dogs are under our watchful eye throughout the day, ensuring everyone plays nice and respects each other's space. Our home features a fully enclosed garden that we have made 100% escape-proof—a project we took very seriously after adopting our rescue, Houdini, who liked to "wander" early on. Dogs can enjoy the fresh air and toilet breaks safely without any risk of slipping away. We maintain a highly structured routine around food, walks, and rest, which inherently keeps dogs calm and secure. To prevent any resource guarding, dogs are always fed separately and given their treats in designated spaces. While we work, the kitchen serves as a secure, cosy hub for downtime, and we use separate rooms if any pup ever needs a quiet, undisturbed rest or a time-out to decompress. Our upstairs area is a pet-free zone, so we don't have guest dogs sleeping upstairs. Instead, bedtime is fully downstairs: our boys, Albus and Houdini, sleep comfortably in the kitchen in their baskets (or on the sofa), and guest dogs will join them in this secure, cosy downstairs setup for a peaceful night's rest.

We left our 7-month-old chocolate Labrador Truffle with Anyesha today for her first full day of daycare, and we could not be happier with the experience! From the moment we arranged a meet and greet, Anyesha's warmth, genuine love for dogs and professionalism was evident. Today, Truffle was with her from 9 am to 4:45 pm, and Anyesha kept us updated throughout the day with photos and videos, which was incredibly reassuring and so lovely to receive. Truffle bonded beautifully with the other dog in Anyesha's care, a gorgeous Husky, and watching them play together through the updates made our day! Truffle came home exhausted, happy and clearly very well looked after. Anyesha is gentle, caring and attentive. You can tell she treats every dog as her own. We will absolutely be back every Thursday and would recommend Anyesha wholeheartedly to any dog owner looking for someone they can genuinely trust with their beloved pet. Thank you, Anyesha. Truffle had the best day! 🐾🍫

My dog Pepe loved Helen from the moment he met her and I think she is great too! I wanted a person that could treat Pepe as part of the family. She is calm, patient and caring. He has been living his best life with Helen whilst I have to work. Helen took the time to understand our needs and make sure Pepe had all the care he needs. He has separation anxiety but he is completely happy with Helen!

Nicola knew exactly what to do and gave me some fantastic tips as a first time puppy owner I was very grateful for. My puppy had a fantastic day when I picked him up and would have stayed longer if he could have! Will definitely be using Nicola again :) Thank you!!

About: I've been working in dog daycare premises for over 9 years, training dogs of different breeds and ages to walk off leads (recall) in beautiful Royal Parks. In the mean time I was offering boarding services and I have learned how to look after very young puppies, pregnant dogs, old dogs and special needs dogs. I have also obtained few qualifications like the Professional Dog Walker Certification and the K9 1st Aid Certificate. At the moment my days are all dedicated to look after dogs. I have full availability throughout the day and during weekends as well. The dogs will never be left on their own as I work from home and I'll be available full time. I have plenty of space in my flat and I have a private fenced garden. The dogs have their own dedicated area where they can relax through the day and also full access to the garden. My obsession for dog's safety has led me to own a professional van fitted with secured crates and enhanced build in air conditioning system so the dogs can travel to local parks safely even during the hottest days.

About: I’ve always been passionate about dogs and grew up with a variety of breeds, including Spaniels, Pointers, and Rottweilers. Until recently, I shared my home with Paisley, my beloved Doberman, who was a joyful and gentle companion to many guest dogs. Though she sadly passed due to complications following surgery, the love, knowledge, and experience I gained through her continue to shape the way I care for every dog that stays with us. I now also have a young child under 3, who is growing up alongside the dogs in a safe and supervised environment. This means your pup will experience plenty of family life while still receiving the same care, structure, and attention as always. I work full-time remotely from home, and my partner is also home most of the time, so your dog will rarely be left alone. We have a fully enclosed garden for safe play, and a garden room that can be used if your dog prefers a quieter space to relax. I frequently care for my mum’s and sister’s dogs, and I’m experienced in managing multiple dogs in a calm, loving environment. Your pup will be welcomed into our home as part of the family. I work full-time from home as a Data Analyst, and my partner also works from home most days. Outside of work, we enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active. I developed a love for dog agility through weekend sessions with my late Doberman, Paisley, and I continue to incorporate fun, stimulating activities into daily routines with the dogs I care for. Whether it’s a walk, playtime in the garden, or a bit of casual training, I always aim to keep your pup engaged and happy We have a fully enclosed garden, perfect for safe play and exploration. While we no longer have a resident dog, our home remains very dog-friendly, and we genuinely enjoy the company of our guest pups. My partner and I both work from home in the heart of the house, so your dog will always have companionship and care throughout the day. We’ve both been raised with dogs, including larger breeds, and are well-versed in understanding the unique traits and needs of different dogs. Whether your pup is playful, shy, or somewhere in between, we’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home with us.

Padma and Shanti are great! Very welcoming, clearly knowledgeable from the first interaction and made me feel very at ease. I received plenty of updates throughout the day, he played, walked, napped and got so much love! Will definitely book again.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Spelthorne

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Spelthorne on Rover is £32.2 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 16,459 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Spelthorne. About 87% of Spelthorne sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Spelthorne commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
