“Annabel was a fantastic friend to my cat while I was away for a week. Her kindness, understanding and caring nature meant that Blossom was very happy and looked forward to her daily visits. I would not hesitate to recommend Annabel - she really is certainly someone that can be relied on with any pet she is asked to look after. Thank you so much to Annabel!”

“After a successful couple of meet & greets, Beth’s first one hour visit seemed to go well. Sookie is a nervous rescue and can take time to warm up to new people. Although she wasn’t brave enough to approach Beth that day, she was comfortable and relaxed enough to have a snooze while she was there. Which shows that she isn’t overly worried about Beth, who didn’t try to push things too fast and went at Sookie’s pace, allowing her to feel that relaxed she could close her eyes. Very happy with Beth and her knowledge of handling nervous dogs.”

“Kate was absolutely fantastic, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. She quickly built a wonderful bond with our cat, who can be fickle! She spent real quality time with him, and after we returned home, he was even waiting by the door at the time she usually visited, which says it all. Kate kept us updated with photos, videos and reassuring messages about his feeding, medication and how he was doing. Her communication was excellent and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear Kate genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Natasha was excellent and sent us regular updates and videos. Our two cats were rather elusive but she tried really hard to entice them in. We have her booked again soon and I am much more confident going away and leaving the cats knowing that she is coming again.”

“Repeat booking and we'd always hope to book Emily in future too. She was amazing, great communication, happy to administer medication, really reliable and took time each visit to play with Luka and make sure she was happy. Really grateful to not have to worry at all while we were away 😻”

“Our puppy absolutely loves Jamie - he’s the best dog whisperer I’ve ever met! He went out of his way to help me when I was in a pinch during the heatwave, and we’re so glad to have met him. He has the most amazing knowledge of dogs and how to train them and I knew Lumi was in safe, kind hands. Thank you Jamie from all of us 💜”

“April has been a great sitter for our fluff bundle. Feliz seemed happy and calm when we returned. April kept in touch and updated me on how Feliz was doing, giving me great peace of mind. She went out of her way to make sure Feliz got to know her and enjoyed her company as well as taking care of her and dealing with her care. Thanks so much”
“Ollie had a great time with Mairi! Mairi was absolutely brilliant and keeping us in the loop with photos and videos. She was able to accommodate specific feeding times as well has giving Ollie medication. In short Ollie has a new best friend. Would recommend and will definitely book again! ”

“We were so pleased with Inesa, who checked in on our sausage dog. She arrived at the time we had discussed and kept us updated. We will be using her again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family!”

“Joey did a fantastic job of visiting and tending to our cat Poppy! 😺 Reliable, friendly and clearly a cat lover! Really appreciate it and would recommend Joey 100%”

“Samantha was super lovely and communicative the whole time, bright and bubbly!! The cats loved her, even Idris who's mostly quite shy looked really happy and cuddly! Cant wait to hire Samantha again! 😻❤xxx”

“Brilliant. Thank you so much for being surrogate to our lovely old lady. Taking on board and half blind half deaf dog without a break in your stride. So happy we found you. Thanks”

“Jo is a god send - she took such good care of my little nugget and went out of her way to give me updates. She showed huge empathy, friendliness and my Lizzy s and seemed to like her a lot. Cannot recommend highly enough!!”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Hove
Ronnie and Jennifer are real cat lovers, and we had no hesitation to give them the responsibility to visit daily and take care of our cats whilst we were on vacation. They sent regular updates, and are reliable, trustworthy and kind people. We would highly recommend them, and we’ll be sure to ask them to help us again in future. Thanks Ronnie & Jennifer, we hugely appreciate what you have done for us.

Charlotte was so sweet with our cat, spent a lot of time observing and playing with her, and was very courteous in our home. She also gave her medication efficiently. Her updates are great and we felt like we could relax while we were away. Even though our cat has quite severe anxiety issues, she was calm and happy! Thank you so much!

We couldn’t recommend Farah more highly! She puts so much care and effort into making sure our two cats are happy, comfortable, and really well looked after, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares about them. She is also incredibly reliable and a great communicator, sending us lovely photos and updates of the cats every day, which gives us so much reassurance while we’re away. We always feel completely confident that the cats are in excellent hands and that the house is safe and well looked after too. It makes such a difference being able to go away knowing everything at home is being cared for so thoughtfully - definitely five stars!
Helen was great and I felt very safe leaving the cats in her care .We had another heatwave when I was away and Helen helped to keep the cats well entertained and fed despite my flat being super hot and my wet cat food spoiling !!,top tip .Get a cooling cat feeder in heatwaves ( plug in ) and get Helen ! Helen sent lovely pics every day ! She was fab and very easy to communicate with . Will be booking her again soon 👍👍🥰

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Hove pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
