“Joseph was brilliant with our pup. He kept us updated with photos and helpful notes. Woody was happy and calm after the drop-in, which was really reassuring to see. Lovely to know he was in such good hands, thank you!”

“Everything completed as asked and Catherine went to extra trouble on a few things which I appreciated. She really cares. My cats were fed and safe on a long stressful day for me, so I could relax knowing they were in good hands. Thank you Catherine!”

About: I know how hard it is to find reliable care that fits around real life, and how important routine consistency is for your dog. I realised that I can help and am excited to offer solo, on-lead neighbourhood walks and welfare drop-in visits to your home. With a one-on-one, your dog gets my full attention and sets the pace. Whether that's a slow sniffy walk or a heart-raising stomp. I'm a very active, all-weather walker. So you can be assured that I will show up in all conditions and ensure your dog gets a good, consistent walk experience. I currently focus on one-to-one walks. I take caring for your dog seriously and will treat your dog as my own, and will send you updates on the way. Once we've built trust, if you are comfortable, I may optionally suggest an occasional walk with my own friendly Labrador. I currently work from home on Tuesdays and Fridays so can regularly offer walks before 9am, lunchtimes, and after 4pm on those days. I also have some flexibility so please make an enquiry for other times as it might work out. I keep my availability realistic so I can be dependable for the bookings I accept. On weekends, I'm much more flexible so if you're looking for regular or last-minute help, let me know and I will do my best to help you out. I offer welfare drop-in visits to your home to give your pup a much needed break during the day. I'll let them use the bathroom, refresh their water, feed a meal if required but most importantly, give them lots of attention and play. So you can be sure your pet is happy at home while you are out.

“Nicola was quick to respond to my last minute request, offered a meet and greet before at short notice and tracked the walk with my dog. Min Pin seemed very content after his walk and was happy for all the attention. Thank you and I will definitely be booking again.”

“Sophie helped out last minute with my 20 month old dog. She arranged an initial meet in her own time to come to my house and meet Percy. Sophie sent me detailed feedback from the drop in. I felt reassured and happy my dog was well looked after. Would not hesitate to ask Sophie to help in the future. Thank you!”

About: I’ve spent most of my life around animals and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets while you’re away. Growing up, I was surrounded by dogs, including Retrievers and an Old English Sheepdog, and I’ve also cared for cats and rabbits. My rabbits have been part of my family for the past 11 years, so I understand the individual care and attention that small animals need. I’ve also looked after a friend’s dog on several occasions while they were on holiday, giving them complete peace of mind that their pet was happy and well cared for. Alongside my love of animals, I’ve worked in caring roles supporting both adults and children with learning disabilities. This has helped me develop patience, reliability, compassion, and attention to detail—qualities I bring to every pet I care for. For added peace of mind, I hold a ProTrainings Pet First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) certificate, I’m DBS checked, and I’m fully insured. I believe that great pet care is about combining genuine compassion with professionalism, so you can feel confident that your pets and your home are in safe hands. I specialise in home visits, providing care in the environment where your pets feel safest and most comfortable. Whether it’s feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, administering medication where appropriate, or simply spending quality time keeping your pet company, I’ll treat them with the same kindness and respect that I would my own animals. I’m also happy to care for a variety of other pets, not just cats and dogs. Whether you have rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, or other small animals, I’ll take the time to understand their individual routines and provide the same attentive, compassionate care they receive from you. I know how reassuring it is to receive updates while you’re away, so I’ll always keep you informed with messages and photos, allowing you to relax knowing your pets are happy and well cared for. I look forward to meeting you and your very important pets! I am currently available from 11am in the morning for visits. I am generally available 7 days a week. I can be very flexible so just let me know how I can help As I provide pet home visits, I care for pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, helping to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible.
“As we’ve recently moved to the area, we’ve found ourselves short of support when it’s needed for our 2 dogs. We’ve put off finding a ‘stranger’ to help but from the day Hollie came and met us and them, she’s been a blessing. It’s clear how much she loves dogs and the way she treats ours like her own is really reassuring. We get the best updates and pictures when she visits and we know they’re in the best hands. I would definitely recommend her ☺️”

About: Hello! I’m Hannah and I’ve been a huge dog lover since a very early age. I regularly look after family, friends and colleagues dogs and now do this alongside my full-time job. I have also fostered dogs long-term for Raystede animal charity. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. For dog boarding, I appreciate that every dog has their own individual needs and routine and I try to recreate this in my home. I know pets are family, and I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. I work from home 3 days a week and have alternate Friday’s off, so I have lots of time to cuddle your pups! I don’t work weekends so am extra flexible on Saturdays and Sundays. There are two external doors (excluding front door) to get outside, so your pets will be very safe in the flat. There is a communal garden unfenced but away from the road, a woods about 5 minutes away, plus a large park at the top of my road.
“Gina was so lovely and communicative the whole booking. She was incredibly understanding when I had to change the time we initially met due to personal issues, and was really friendly and kind. We received photos and messages at every drop in which we really appreciated. Would definitely recommend Gina to others!”

About: I grew up with dogs all my life, as did my partner Dan. We dream of having our own dogs when we get our first house together. Our current flat is not doggy appropriate. I grew up in a house with two dogs, cats, cockatiels, rabbits and everything in between. Dan also has had dogs (boxers in particular) all his life too. We're also a dab hand at watering plants, taking in deliveries and caring for your house while you're away! I'm a teacher, so if you're booking when I'm on holiday there are no problems. Daniel works locally in Haywards Heath, so it is sometimes possible for him to come home at lunches for potty breaks. We are best with weekends, half terms and breaks! We are adaptable to your lives and how the dogs live. We want them to be comfortable so would learn your routines, favourite walk route and tips for entertainment and try and mimic as best as possible. We just sadly cannot look after pets in our own flat at the moment!
“Alex was fab, dropping in on our two fur baby cats whilst we were away making sure they got attention, food & water. It was so reassuring to receive the photos and rover card updates.”

Caring for pets is something I enjoy making part of my weekly life, not just something I fit in around other commitments. I care for pets by making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after in either my home or a pet owner’s home. I follow each pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific care instructions. About: Hi! I am Tristan an experienced and caring pet sitter based in Burgess Hill. I am the sole carer for all the animals without any additional assistance so they get my focus. I treat every pet like family. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I am comfortable administering medications if needed. About: I have a genuine passion for looking after animals. As well as sights like Borrow My Doggy, I am also a member of Trusted Housesitters and have looked after a range of young, old, small and large dogs and have built up a great relationship with all owners I work with. I would love to be considered to look after your pet. I’m currently working partly remote, meaning I have more spare time to attend to the pets I look after, including more regular walks and cuddles of course! Despite living in a flat, it is extremely spacious with access to a courtyard and parks close by. I would be happy to show you around ahead of a service.
About: I’ve been caring for animals since childhood and grew up in a very pet-friendly environment. I had my own Dachshund for 19 years, as well as parrots, so I'm experienced with both dogs and birds. My extended family also had cats and dogs and I've looked after pets for friends as well. I also have experience with puppies, including helping care for litters when my dog had her own. From a young age, I've felt comfortable around all kinds of dogs, including strays that I looked after and I naturally build trust with them. I provide calm, attentive walks and care and l always treat each pet as an individual, making sure they feel safe, relaxed and well looked after. I’m available for dog walking on weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to discuss specific times in advance if needed and agree on times that work well for both of us. When caring for pets I try to follow their usual routine, if they have one, to help them feel comfortable and secure. I make sure they have fresh water, food and plenty of attention, play and exercise. During walks, I prioritise safety at all times and ensure dogs are handled calmly and responsibly.

Abi and Vinesh are the absolute bestest! They are out go-to sitters whenever we're out of town. Our cat Turnip absolutely loves them, they send us so many great updates and photos, and where he used to get anxious after we'd been away he now seems so much calmer and happier because he has people he loves checking in on him ❤️ Definitely recommend!

Alex was wonderful, checking in on my cat every evening while we were on holiday. She sent lovely updates and photos each evening, and I felt completely confident that my cat was being well looked after. I would 100% recommend Alex to anyone who wants to make sure their pet receives plenty of love and attention while they’re away!

Emily made me feel very at ease and comfortable leaving my cat for a couple of nights. She sent photos for every visit and you could see how happy Giles was being looked after by her! Would absolutely recommend Emily and will definitely use her cat sitting services again if we need to!

Sophie was fantastic at looking after Mollie. Mollie can be quite shy but was super happy having cuddles and pets with Sophie. She did a great job keeping me updated throughout and I would 100% recommend Sophie for all your cat sitting needs! Thank you Sophie! ❤️

Billie was amazing and I’m so pleased I picked them to look after my cat while I was on holiday. My cat is quite anxious so I was worried about leaving him, but Billie was so attentive and kind, sending me videos and photos where you could see my cat getting more comfortable and relaxed with Billie as time went on - definitely recommend!

Robyn came to visit my 2 cats while I was away. Her updates were reassuring to see how my cats were doing. She even made friends with my shy cat who is scared of everyone. I'd highly recommend and will definitely use her services anytime I go away. Thank you!
We have booked Olivia many times over the last year, and I couldn’t recommended her highly enough. Last year she took great care for our 12 year old cocker spaniel Mustard, he always loved her visits! More recently Olivia stepped in last minute to puppy sit for our new pup 🐾 we knew he would be in the safest of hands. Thank you so much ☺️

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
