“Leah was so helpful and accommodating, agreeing to look after Magnus at such short notice. She was great at keeping in touch and sending photos when she visited him each day. Leah is a useful contact for future services. Thank you”

“I was concerned about leaving Alfie and Tikki when I had only adopted them in January. My concern was completely unnecessary. Janet so clearly is used to being around cats and likes being around cats. She spent a lot of time with them, not only with the necessaries but also tending to Alfie and Tikki's emotional needs. I came home to two relaxed cats who immediately forgave me for leaving them. Janet's diary of events awaiting me was comprehensive and entertaining. I would definitely recommend her for cat sitting duties.”

“Hi Liz thanks so much for taking care of Bean today. He was relaxed when I got home so he was clearly happy. The photos you shared are lovely too! Look forward to seeing you again soon.”

About: I’ve always had a deep love for all animals and have many years experience with cats and dogs. With a variety of breeds and ages. Count me and my husband James as reliable and trustworthy people who would love to be a part of your furry friends life. I understand all animals are unique and I take the time to learn them and stick to routine they need. I have a lovely big fenced garden for them to enjoy when staying with me and live right by a walking path to enjoy walks often. Your pet will feel right at home with me when staying at mine. I work part time as radiographer in NHS, but make sure I have the time to give your animal the attention they need. I set my schedule to work around your needs and only put availability when I’m not working. I have a fenced garden which is large and plenty of space to play and roam around. I make sure they feel at home at all times
“Paige was an instant success with our cats from the introductions onwards! She was very helpful, very knowledgeable, reliable: a really good cat conversationist and carer. Thank you very much Paige!”
“Jade did a fantastic job looking after our cat while we were away. Jade is professional and friendly, communicating perfectly with us, sending us a couple of photos every day and reassurance that our cat was doing well. We were so pleased to leave our cat in such safe hands.”

“I definitely recommend Tasha for walking and night sits, she helped me out by doing a last minute night sit and stayed with my dog all night and the next day until I got back. She’s kind and keeps me updated on every walk, we are lucky to have her.”

“Georgina has been really lovely with my old girl with great communication and updates. She’s attentive and will make sure your 4 legged companion (and plants) get the care they deserve 😊”

“Monika came to meet us before we went away and she was very affectionate towards Magnus and courteous and professional too. While away, I received regular updates and photos which was reassuring. I came home to a happy cat. I’d definitely ask Monika to look after Magnus in the future. Thank you!”

“Morgan was absolutely amazing when she came to meet the dogs yesterday. One of the dogs was a little nervous, but Morgan handled it absolutely perfectly and by the end they were best friends! Morgan took her time to get to know each of the dogs, she paid them real attention and although they’re super hyper nothing put her off at all!! I trust her completely with Cooper and Winnie and know they’re going to be in loving hands when we go away🐾❤️”

About: I have been looking after dogs for a few years now, for friends and family and through borrow my doggy. I have been doing borrow my doggy for a few years, walking and looking after dogs but now I'm looking to do more of this, expand my services and make more little doggy friends - or cats if needed ☺️ Sadly I do have a 9-5 job but I am always free at lunchtimes for walks or to I do work a 9-5 but work from home 4 days a week, I am happy to do morning, lunch or evening walks or you can have your little pal hang out with me all day at home for some company and cuddles between work calls I have a medium sized garden that is fenced off all the way round, I don't have children or any other pets too so your doggy can have full room to roam, chill or play

About: I have 4 years of experience as a dog sitter and a lifelong love and understanding of dogs, having lived with them since childhood. I am confident in caring for dogs of different ages, sizes, temperaments, and routines, and I always make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. I treat every dog as if they were my own, giving them plenty of attention, affection, walks and reassurance. I am also confident in supporting senior dogs, including those who may need a slower pace, extra patience, gentle handling, medication reminders or additional comfort. I understand the importance of following each owner’s instructions carefully, maintaining routines and creating a peaceful home environment where dogs can relax and feel secure. I don't have any rules for the bed or furniture, so the entire home is for them to use and feel comfortable. I love for the dogs to socialise and meet new friends. I don't have our own dog, so I board one or two dogs at a time(if they are good match) , so they can have all the attention. The home is completely pet-friendly. I live close to a park and I walk pets 2-3 times a day,(unless there are special requirements). I'm truly excited to meet your best friend, feel free to reach out to me anytime. Requested information about your pet Please let me know any likes and dislikes, special needs or anything I should be aware of during the stay. I will be more than happy to accommodate special requests to make sure your doggie has a good time and is taken care This are the list of information I need from your dog ahead of the sitting: - Toilet breaks time - Walking routine - Food routine - Energy level - Any special requests/needs/preferences

“Our Ozzy had a wonderful time with Abi! She was friendly, caring, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the puppy visits, which gave us real peace of mind. We would happily book again.”

About: We are active animal lovers that care about your pets needs and treat them like our own. Plenty of years experience handling pets, the size doesn't matter! We have 2 cheeky cats and are planning to get a dog of our own in the next couple of years. I was a dog walker previously in my birth town of Southampton and this was my primary and first job when I was younger. I would walk up to 4 dogs on the same walk so am up to any challenge. Happy to provide runs for more active dogs that need more exercise, can comfortably do a 5-10 km run with your pooch. Can also take them for longer walks all around and outside of Eastbourne to give them their daily exercise. When it comes to drop in's we are more than happy to carry out any specific tasks, we have weird cats that need things in a certain order :) Leon works Monday to Friday and is happy to provide services early morning, late at night or at the weekend. Same with Zuza, she has days off in the week so can happily provide even more flexibility. We share a house with 2 cats that are well looked after. Frank is 3 years old female cat and Billy is a senior cat and around 12 years old who I rescued from the streets (so not exactly sure how old) and has some special needs. He needs to be given medicine daily.
About: I have had puppies/kittens to senior dogs and cats, having to give medication. Comfortable with long walks in any weather on a group or solo walk. I have plenty of spare time to drop into your house and I regularly go on long walks with my dog, who is very friendly and enjoys company with other dogs. I have a small fenced garden but have lots of dog friendly walks nearby. I have one dog who loves the company of other dogs.
About: I’ve always had a strong love for dogs, and throughout my 31 years, I’ve always had at least one dog in my life! I have experience with a variety of breeds and have built meaningful bonds with all the dogs I’ve had the pleasure of looking after over the years. I’m a caring, responsible and patient person who genuinely enjoys spending time with dogs. I understand that every dog is different, with their own personality, routines and needs, and I’m always happy to take the time to make them feel comfortable and settled. I work Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm, so pet care fits well around my daily routine. I’m available before and after work, as well as throughout the evenings and at weekends. I genuinely enjoy dog walking and love exploring different places and finding nice walks to enjoy with the dogs I look after. I’m happy to adapt walks to suit each dog, whether they enjoy a long walk, a gentle stroll or plenty of time to stop and sniff! As I have two dogs of my own at home, pet sitting in your home means I can give your dog my full attention without bringing them into an unfamiliar environment or disrupting their routine. My aim is for you to be able to go away knowing your dog is happy, settled and being well looked after in their own home.
About: I have also in the recent years got very familiar with the feathered friends. My profile picture is of Mango who was a 2 year old Indian ringneck Parakeet. She was my best friend and sat on my shoulder keeping me company where I used to live. Unfortunately there was a terrible accident and she is no only with us. So birds are a big part of my love for animals too. So I do hair dressing & beauty therapy from a salon set up at home, also the odd mobile client too. Which makes it easy for me to come back and forth to watch and look after the animals. With my flexibility I’m never usually out the house for longer than 3-4 hours. Or the client could even come to the home I’m staying in, as long as my host is happy with that. My only long days out the house is Thursdays, where I travel to Hove and work as a laser tattoo removal practitioner. If and when this clashes with my house sitting, my mum is semi retired and she steps in for me so the animals are kept an eye on and taken out if I’m not there. I will follow instructions as provided with how the routine and safety measures will work for that particular environment I’m in. I have so much love and care for other peoples animals and il keep you updated with photos and messages to put your mind at ease as you’re away from your beloved pets.
About: Hi! Here’s a little about me- I grew up with dogs (cocker spaniels & boarder collies) and then I got my beloved Chase, a Finnish Lapphund, when she was just 8 weeks old, up until the age of nearly 15. I have looked after many friends’ and family members’ dogs over the years and so not only do I have experience looking after dogs of all ages/ stages of their life, I also understand the bond and love that there is between a dog and its owner. My home is perfectly set up for a dog- gates are in place, beds, food & water bowls, anti-slip carpets for senior dogs whose paws are less stable, etc. The walled garden is secure and there is a convenient park just down the road too. I know how difficult it is to find somewhere that offers complete peace of mind, which is why I would like to offer a home from home for your dog(s), by providing a loving and reliable service for those who benefit and thrive so much more from being in a warm and welcoming household with 1-1 attention. I’m a teacher and therefore I will be able to help during school holidays in particular, as well as weekends. I am also available most Thursday afternoons from 1pm onwards. I have a walled garden and plenty of space for your dog to roam around. I don’t mind them sitting on the sofa (unless you have taught them not to!) and I can easily accommodate a crate should you want your dog to sleep in one rather than on a dog bed. I will typically walk your dog twice daily unless stated otherwise- I will always cater to your dog’s needs.
About: I’ve looked after various dogs over the years and where I work from home I’m very flexible and adaptable, spending time with animals brings me alot of happiness 😀 I work full time and only go into the office one day a week so very flexible I usually go for works either before or after work I have a very spacious flat and always make sure there’s nothing out that can harm any animals and always make sure there’s food and water available
“Hannah has been wonderful, she is friendly and was genuinely affectionate towards Magnus. Her communications, including photos and videos, are consistent and very welcome. Hannah even washed up empty food tins for the recycling, without being asked! I will definitely ask her to look after Magnus again. A lovely person”

Asking Jo to look after our cats for the second time, was an easy choice… absolutely recommend & will be choosing Jo in the future too… Jo, 100% puts my mind at ease when leaving the cats for any amount of time. It was just a couple of days this time but three weeks last time… Regular updates & photos sent each day…Returning home to three well-looked after, calm kitties… Honestly, anyone feeling anxious about leaving their pets when going away, contact Jo 👍

Jade was brilliant - she was so accommodating despite being a last minute request, did everything we asked and more. She sent us pictures whilst we were away which is always reassuring, and both our cats seemed totally happy on return which we can’t argue with. Would happily recommend Jade to anyone looking for someone to check in or take care of their pets! Thank you, Jade :)

Yes, absolutely! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.
Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Eastbourne pet parents with similar pet households.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Eastbourne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
