“Absolutely amazing. Really great communication and our doggy has come back extremely happy and tired out after a great day playing. Megan was very accommodating to us and we would highly recommend her and definitely plan on using Megan again. Thank you so much!!!!”

“Doobie is always so excited to go to Chris and Lene's - they are amazing with him and always send lots of photo updates. We feel very lucky to have them close by :) Thanks again!”

“I highly recommend Katty! She is very polite and love for dogs. My puppy, Milo, came back in a great mood. Katty was helpful and responsed to my enquiries during and after Milo's stay. Overall, both Milo and I are very satisfied with this care!”

“Katelyn was very sweet with Eddie, and though he doesn't like being left and was a bit surprised at first, she soon got him settled down and looked after him well. I picked up a tired, happy and contented dog.”

About: Hi! I'm an experienced dog owner with over 20 years of caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently share my home with my husband and our dogs Nugget, a friendly 3-year-old Chihuahua × Jack Russell cross, and Archer, my gentle 11-year-old Italian Greyhound. They're both used to having dog visitors, as I already dog sit. Your dog will be treated like part of the family here. They're welcome on the sofa for cuddles, have access to a fully enclosed, secure garden, and we'll enjoy lovely walks just a few minutes from the cliffs and the sea. I understand how important it is to know your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I'm reliable, responsible, and I'll make sure your dog(s) gets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I'll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you can relax knowing they're having a great time. I am currently between jobs and will have plenty of time to look after your dog(s), and give them their daily walks and cuddles I have a fenced of garden that they can always enter. There's grass and a nice lounge set that they are allowed to use :) I fully understand how stressful it can be to leave your dog(s) behind, and I can assure you I will follow all your instructions to keep them safe (as I expect the same thing from my own dogsitter)

“Sarah was amazing with Bailey and I was completely reassured that she was in good hands. Bailey was clearly very happy there and if I was local to this area I’d definitely use Sarah’s services again! Thank you”

“Emma and her family were so lovely looking after our dog Winston. He had the best day going on multiple walks and playing in the park, Emma kindly shared pictures throughout the day to keep us updated too :)”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and other pets for most of my life and genuinely love spending time with animals. Friends, family, and neighbors trust me to feed, walk, and look after their pets while they’re away. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable with pets of all ages, including energetic puppies and older animals that need a bit more care. I always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and well looked after. I have a flexible schedule which allows me to give your pet plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust my routine to suit your pet’s needs, whether that’s regular visits, feeding times, or play sessions. I make sure every pet gets consistent care and attention I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding routines, medication if needed, and any specific care requirements. I take the time to build trust with each pet and ensure they feel relaxed, whether in my home or the owner’s home. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are always my top priority.
“Acer loved his day with Nane, Todd and James! They took really good care of him, kept us regularly updated with pictures and videos with the great day he was having our and about on the Downs. Couldn't have hoped for a better day for him. Thanks so much, we'll definitely see you again soon!”

About: I have been looking after cats and dogs for the last 25 years. I had my own cats for nearly 20 years, one of whom was neurotic, deaf and in the early stages of dementia when he finally passed (and needed daily medication). Over the past 6 years, I have looked after dogs, cats, horses, and the occasional tortoise through trusted housesitters. But since I settled in Brighton, I have mostly been looking after friends' dogs: cockapoos, staffies, Romanian rescues and loving the company as I work on my PhD. I own my own home with a garden if you need to drop them off, and I also have my own car if I need to get to yours. I am reliable, responsible and active, meaning they will get all the walks and love they need. I work from home, with no fixed meeting times. Depending on the weather and what your dog is used to, I would take them for a walk in the morning, either up on the Downs behind my house, or to the beach, just a 10 minute walk away. We would then spend the day in my study, your dog snoozing on the guest bed or the floor, and me working on my research, with breaks for playtime in the garden and snacks, if allowed. At dinner time, we would go for another walk, either to the Downs, where we might meet up with a couple of other friends with dogs, or back to the park along the seafront. Your dog could then sleep with me on my bed, or on the floor, whatever they are used to. I have a fenced garden, and during the summer months, they can go outside whenever they want. They can go anywhere in my house, but I would only let them on the sofa/bed if that's what they are allowed to do in your home. When we go for a walk, I would not immediately let them off the lead. Still, I would work up to that, starting with short periods in a safe environment and ensuring they know I have chicken or another high-value treat, which I would reward them with every time I called them and they returned.
“Pies stayed with Cathy, Mark and Elvis for the first time two days in a row! We first met for a short walk over the weekend for the dogs to get to know each other and for Cathy to have the opportunity to meet and learn about Pies. I could tell straight away that they would get on. Cathy kept me up to date with pictures and videos of what Pies is up to and I felt confident that Pies is well taken care of. I’d definitely recommend their services and I’ll definitely leave Pies with them again without any doubt.”

“We had such a great experience with Ali and Kiernan, both are super friendly and clearly absolute dog lovers! We felt completely confident leaving our cheeky Boston girl, Cosmo, in their care. It was lovely to receive updates and photos throughout the day, which really put our minds at ease. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Cosmo will definitely be booked in with them again in the future🐾”

“Kayla, Josh and Ralph took fabulous care of our dog. He had the best doggy play date day with them, came back absolutely tired out and made a new best friend. I'd not hesitate in recommending them and we'll definitely be seeing them again soon for walks and more day care!”

“Daphne was absolutely amazing with my little dog, she showed so much care and attention to her. Was available and keen to help out at last minute too. Highly recommend her and will definitely be returning to Brighton and using her lovely service again!”

“We went for a day trip from London to Brighton and needed a sitter for our one year old doggie for 4-5 hours in the area while we were having a meal with friends at a restaurant that does not allow dogs. Liudmyla was brilliant in looking after our pup! The whole experience was just wonderful! From the start when we needed to modify the hours of booking, to making our doggie Misha feel welcomed and comfortable at her place and sending us updates and photos. Liudmyla is a warm, caring, professional lady and we highly recommend her services. We will def book her again on our next trip to Brighton.”

“Jane was absolutely brilliant: she kept us updated all day with cute pictures of Elvis - and he was clearly having a lovely time! We'll definitely be asking her to look after him again. Thank you so much, Jane x”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We used this dog‑sitting service while travelling to Brighton so we could enjoy some indoor family activities, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The dog sitter was incredibly caring, attentive, and clearly very experienced. Our dog was made to feel completely at home and even built a lovely bond with her own dog. When it came time to collect him, he honestly didn’t want to leave – which says it all! It gave us real peace of mind knowing he was so happy, well cared for, and enjoying himself while we were away. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for reliable, loving dog care and will definitely be using them again. An excellent experience from start to finish.”

“Reilly had a lovely time with Emma and Nathan. They took him last minute and he didnt even look back as I dropped him off. I was updated with photos and I picked a very happy and tired wee boy. Thank you!”

Teddy had a wonderful day with Jane. It was his first time and Jane made him feel thoroughly at home, so much so by the time I collected him he had a favourite chair. Jane gave me lots of updates throughout the day. He was walked, fed and entertained, I think he would’ve been very happy to stay longer. Thank you Jane

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
