“We were very happy to leave our dog with Richard. He was kind, thoughtful and welcoming to her without crowding her and was sensitive to her being an older, slightly nervous dog.”

“I highly recommend Katty! She is very polite and love for dogs. My puppy, Milo, came back in a great mood. Katty was helpful and responsed to my enquiries during and after Milo's stay. Overall, both Milo and I are very satisfied with this care!”

“Pies stayed with Cathy, Mark and Elvis for the first time two days in a row! We first met for a short walk over the weekend for the dogs to get to know each other and for Cathy to have the opportunity to meet and learn about Pies. I could tell straight away that they would get on. Cathy kept me up to date with pictures and videos of what Pies is up to and I felt confident that Pies is well taken care of. I’d definitely recommend their services and I’ll definitely leave Pies with them again without any doubt.”

“Katelyn was very sweet with Eddie, and though he doesn't like being left and was a bit surprised at first, she soon got him settled down and looked after him well. I picked up a tired, happy and contented dog.”

About: I have had pets for my whole life. I had two border collie puppies and two kittens when I was a kid so I have had experience caring for animals at all stages of their life. I have experience giving both cats and dogs medications and following special diets. I love going on walks with dogs and spending time outdoors. I currently have a labradoodle puppy who is 10 weeks old and so I am regaining the experience of training a puppy again. I have always been an animal lover and old dogs have a special place in my heart. I am doing a Masters degree at the moment and so I will have lots of time to spend with your pets on my days off. I am unable to look after pets in my own home as I don't want to stress out my cats but I will follow your guidance and rules about caring for your pet in your own home. I am neat and tidy and I will make sure that the house remains clean and tidy and safe for your pet. Your pet will be kept on a leash for the full duration of walks. I will also only give them treats that are approved by you first and that their dietary requirements are strictly followed.
“Emma and her family were so lovely looking after our dog Winston. He had the best day going on multiple walks and playing in the park, Emma kindly shared pictures throughout the day to keep us updated too :)”

“We had such a great experience with Ali and Kiernan, both are super friendly and clearly absolute dog lovers! We felt completely confident leaving our cheeky Boston girl, Cosmo, in their care. It was lovely to receive updates and photos throughout the day, which really put our minds at ease. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter. Cosmo will definitely be booked in with them again in the future🐾”

“Hannah was accommodating with arrangements, calm with Queenie, and really good at communication. It was lovely to see how happy Queenie was in Hannah's company. Have booked another session already.”

About: I was raised around all types of dogs and have over five years of hands-on experience caring for my own two dogs, Milo and Clifford. I’ve also regularly looked after dogs for family and friends over the years, building trust and confidence in providing safe, loving, reliable care. Milo and Clifford are friendly, neutered, and love having playmates. 🐶🐾 I work during the week, which makes me perfectly suited to caring for pets while owners enjoy weekend getaways. I’m also available for morning and evening walks or drop-in visits during the week, ensuring pets receive consistent care, attention, and routine even when you’re busy. 🐾 I care for every dog as if they were my own, following their usual routines to help them feel safe and settled. Owners provide their dog’s food to maintain their normal diet, and I have a crate available if needed. I also have a secure, fully enclosed garden for safe playtime, plus easy access to plenty of open fields for long, enjoyable walks and exercise. 🐶🌿🐾
“Dropped my 2 under a year mini dachshunds off at 10.30 is and picked them up just before 6. Exceptionally easy going, my pups were harnessed and ready to go upon collection. Questions were asked about feeding them and their care. Will definitely be using the service again.”

“Sarah was fantastic with Max. Communication was great throughout, very responsive and friendly, and she clearly really cared about making sure he had a good day. Max came back very happy and relaxed after some great walks and attention. I can definitely see why she has so many positive reviews and I’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

Richard was absolutely fabulous. As soon as we arrived Lola dashed straight to him, she’s a fantastic judge of character. She was well walked and a very contented dog when we picked her up after her stay. Would recommend Richard to anyone needing their precious pooch looked after. Thank you xxx

Teddy had a wonderful day with Jane. It was his first time and Jane made him feel thoroughly at home, so much so by the time I collected him he had a favourite chair. Jane gave me lots of updates throughout the day. He was walked, fed and entertained, I think he would’ve been very happy to stay longer. Thank you Jane

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
