“Tsarina is simply brilliant — really taking the time to understand our dogs and making sure they were happy while we were out. We instantly felt confident of her care and her abilities with animals and we are looking forward to booking her again.”

“I’ve never employed a sitter for my lovely hairy girls before. I’m with them all the time and they can have terrible separation anxiety. Amy is very calm and sensible. I had numerous reassuring messages from Amy throughout the day and pictures of my 2 happy dogs. I came in to find them happy with lights left on for them so that if I arrived home after dark, they wouldn’t be left in a dark room. So pleased with Amy, really lovely girl. Trustworthy and kind. It’s all you need! Happy dogs, happy owner.”

About: I have been looking after pretty kitties for 4 years! You will definitely receive 100s of photos of your cats all of the time :) I am currently at university looking to make some extra money to cover my costs! If it is just checking in and feeding I would prefer when it is light :) I have my own cat so I understand pets deserve space and time to settle into meeting new people! My cat is very timid so I will try my best not to overwhelm as I understand how they feel! Of course if your pet is very friendly I am more than happy to shower your furry friend in love! I can clean litter trays, wash up pet dishes and provide pill medication if needed.
“I’m very glad Philippa home sit my puppy Grogu. This was our first experience with her, and certainly look forward to having her again. She was extremely prompt in accepting my request which was quite last minute and was punctual. She came across affectionate, experienced with pets and trustworthy from get go. She walked Grogu and took proper care of her that I came back home to a happy, calm puppy. Philippa was also very considerate in extending the sitting time originally estimated by me. I sincerely appreciate her service and highly recommend her.”

“Paul was kind and thoughtful, and although he was quite new to dog sitting he really took things in his stride despite being outside his comfort zone at times. He was respectful to us as owners and very patient with our dog who can sometimes be a handful. He did an overnight sit in our house and left the place as he found it. Paul was very honest and communicative at all times and really worked hard to ensure he did the best job he possibly good!”

About: I'm a self employed healer and animal lover with over eleven years of pet sitting with Trusted Housesitters, including 44 five star reviews. I'm mainly based in the Woodbridge, Suffolk area but also spend time in North Norfolk and Hastings regularly so happy to offer my services there. I adore taking care of people's pets and appreciate how sensitive some animals can be. I offer a service that is empathic and includes energy healing as required. I always try to keep with pets routines and minimise any stress of having a new person around. I offer a professional service including excellent communication and attuned pet care with regular updates if required. My long background in social care has given me the gift of helping people feel comfortable and safe and this also extends to animals. I have worked with many rescue animals and appreciate the challenges they face, especially with other dogs in public spaces. I offer a service that includes both walks, medication, feeding and play time plus the energy healing. I'm also clean, tidy and very respectful of pets parents homes. I'm currently working part time and as a self employed therapist have flexibility on my times. I mainly offer support for morning, lunch and evening walks but I'm also available for full day pet care and weekends. When supporting dogs I follow the routine required of pet parents, often including two walks a day, feeding, and play time in the afternoon. I bond quickly with animals so I often find myself giving belly rubs! Cats being such unique creatures I support them in the way they wish, making sure they are fed and watered, nurtured and ensure outdoor access is provided if no cat flap is available. I have also supported with the care of tortoises, rabbits, fish and chicken - changing out the hay regularly and collecting eggs. I'm also available for horses and happy to change hay for them also.

About: Hi I’m Hollie, I am an artist and I love cooking and reading. I have a huge love for all animals and feed anything that comes in my garden. I am mummy to an 8yr old Maine mix called Gary, he is a very sweet and affectionate boy who also has a mischievous side and a 4yr old Sphynx cat called Pierogi, who is a clingy, wrinkly, needy delight. I don’t have any children, and I work for myself, therefore I have a lot of flexibility and fewer commitments. I recently lost my sweet tabby girl to dementia, I was so fortunate to have been her Mumma for 17 wonderful years. I am not ready to “replace” her, so I thought I could get my feline fix by helping to care for other people’s cats. I do not charge peak fees as not having children means those times are not an issue for me, I also know that going away at peak times is already a more expensive holiday for you before you even consider pet sitting.

About: Hello! I'm Frankie and I live in St Leonards, just a short walk from the beach. I'm a mum of two teenagers who are now busy living their own lives, which means my home is a little quieter these days. I work from home as a Brand Project Manager for St John Ambulance, and I'd love some canine company during the week. Dogs have always been part of my life. Growing up we had family dogs, and as an adult I've owned a Labrador and spent plenty of time around Bearded Collies, Staffies and Jack Russells. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities. I live in a garden flat with an enclosed garden, and because I mostly work from home I can easily fit in two or three walks a day. I'm also looking for an excuse to spend more time outdoors, so your dog will definitely not be short of exercise, attention or affection. My home is very much a dog friendly home. Dogs are welcome on the sofa for cuddles and company while I work or watch TV in the evenings. I'll happily follow any routines, feeding schedules or house rules that help your dog feel comfortable and settled. I usually travel to London one day a week for work, but this is flexible and can be arranged around bookings if needed. I'm not quite ready to commit to having a dog of my own again, but I miss having dogs around enormously. Looking after other people's dogs feels like the perfect solution. If you're looking for someone reliable, experienced and genuinely delighted to spend time with your dog, I'd love to hear from you ❤️ I work from home most of the week as a Brand and Creative Manager for St John Ambulance, so I'm around for company, feeding, toilet breaks and walks throughout the day. I usually travel into London one day a week, but this is flexible and can be planned around bookings where needed. Outside of that, I have plenty of time for pets and can comfortably fit in two or three walks a day for dogs. My own children are teenagers and rarely at home now, so I have the time, space and energy to give visiting pets lots of attention and companionship. I live in a ground floor garden flat in St Leonards with a secure enclosed garden and plenty of nearby walking routes, including the seafront. Pets are welcome as part of the household and will be treated as members of the family rather than left on their own all day. I've lived with dogs for most of my life, including Labradors, Staffies, Bearded Collies and Jack Russells, and I'm comfortable following individual routines, feeding schedules and care instructions. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing, sofa cuddles or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they feel safe, settled and cared for while you're away. As a manager at St John Ambulance, reliability, responsibility and trust are a big part of my day to day life.

“I would like to highly recommend Leah as a pet sitter.Although I have only met Leah a couple times of times so far, she made an instant wonderful impression on me. I own a very wary nervous dog who normally takes a long time to trust new people, remarkably and completely out of character my dog warmed to Leah immediately.Leah has a brilliant warm energy around her and a natural affinity for animals that dogs can clearly sense. Apart from being fantastic with pets she is a warm and friendly person to be around and deal with.I have complete peace of mind leaving my dog in her care and whole-heartedly recommend her Shirley 30/6/26”

About: I have always had cats or dogs in the household. It doesn’t feel like home without them. I have recently moved and am waiting for a good time before getting another pet. I am missing being around cats and dogs and would love to help out other people who need some support. I have always looked after family/friends animals. I have always been surrounded by animals, and they’ve been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the past year, I’ve also had the chance to look after other people’s pets, which has been such a rewarding experience. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or simply spending time with them, I truly love caring for animals and making sure they feel happy and loved. I have plenty of time to spend with your little once. I can do most week days after 10. And am available some weekends after 10. I will care for every animal with love, patience, and attention, always making their safety my top priority. I create a warm and secure environment where pets can feel relaxed, happy, and well looked after. Building trust is just as important, I take the time to get to know each animal’s unique personality and needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for at all times. My goal is to provide a safe, trustworthy, and loving space where every pet feels at home.

“We came home to two very happy and relaxed cats after Kasia looked after them for three days. We opted for house sitting as opposed to pop in visits and what a difference it made to our furry babies! They had obviously been really glad to have their regular daily routine undisturbed as well as the company, strokes, cuddles and games they got from Kasia who followed our instructions really well and left our house in perfect condition. Our cats warmed to her really quickly which was a great sign as they are both quite sensitive and we got updates and photos on a daily basis making us feel relaxed and confident that they were in good hands. We would highly recommend Kasia as she was reliable and trustworthy with an obvious flare for bonding quickly with other peoples pets. Thank you Kasia 😻”

“I asked Jasuthan for help for second time and he was very polite, friendly and reliable. He helped me to feed our kitten on a daily basis and has been sending me the pictures daily, too. I would definitely recommend his services.”

What an absolutely fantastic experience with Violetta. Honestly, we couldn't be happier with how she treated our girl and cared for her needs. She is a lovely person and our girl instantly took to her and felt at ease. After a hard days work out girl is calm and relaxed which speaks volumes about Violetta's care and attention. I highly recommend you sample her services, you wont be disappointed!! 😀
Emma looked after our rescue dog Terry, staying in our home for a week and we can’t thank her enough. From start to finish, Emma kept us informed with messages and pictures. She visited twice beforehand to get to know Terry and learn about his ways. She gave him his medication and was calm and resourceful when he showed some reactivity caused by his background. Emma was professional throughout, and we knew our dog was in excellent hands. I can wholeheartedly recommend Emma, who we will be asking to dog sit again and again.

Natasha was so relaxed and chilled that my worries about leaving our dog for the first time evaporated. It really just felt like she was going to be looked after by a friend rather than a big deal and that worked really well for us. Our dog Honey loved spending time with Natasha and her family and they treated her like their own, her children even made a “doggy hotel” for her. Thank you Natasha xxx
Hollie and James are both really lovely people, who we are really pleased to have in our home and look after our pets. They were always in touch with photographs, to let us know our puppy was doing fine, as well as the cat. When we were home, it was like they hadn't been there. No sign of any thing out of place or and mess. They even stripped the bed and cleaned the floors. Highly recommended, we'll be using again. Thank you both very much.
I highly recommend Amy for pet sitting. She is friendly and kind and made me feel safe leaving my cat for three nights. Bonnie is an ex ferel cat and does not trust easily. Amy got around her and gave her confidence. I am delighted to have found Amy and look forward to using her again.

This was the first time we’ve been out of the country without our dog and she couldn’t have been in safer hands. Jordie was an excellent communicator and the house was spotless on our return. Would highly recommend Jordie to stay with your pets. Thanks so much for taking great care of our girl!

We left our cockapoo with Helen for our wedding weekend and could not recommend her highly enough! Helen was so good with our dog and went above and beyond what we had hoped for! She came to meet our dog before looking after her, bought her to our wedding for photos and gave us constant updates. We really felt that our dog was in safe hands with Helen!

Stephanie took care of Scout for 8 days. During my holiday she sent regular updates, photos and videos to let me know how he was doing. When I returned the house was clean and she had even changed the bedding for me knowing that I would be tired after a long journey - which was not expected! I would definately recommend Stephanie :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Hastings walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hastings choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
