“Daniel and Alida looked after Steve so well. He came home happy and tired. They were delightful to liaise with when making the booking and I was happy to know Steve was in such safe caring hands”

About: I have been caring for pets for more than 10 years and grew up with dogs, cats and even tortoises of my own, so animals have always been a big part of my life. More recently, I spent two years house and pet sitting full-time through TrustedHousesitters, caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities, energy levels and routines. During that time, I earned more than 40 five-star reviews from pet owners. What sets me apart is the amount of time and attention I can give each dog. I work remotely from home and keep boarding intentionally small-scale, usually caring for dogs from just one household at a time. This allows me to follow their normal routine closely and help them feel settled, rather than treating their stay like a busy kennel or daycare environment. I am patient, calm and confident following detailed care instructions. With younger dogs, I can reinforce the training and boundaries you already use at home, including toilet routines, lead manners, settling calmly and rewarding positive behaviour. I am not a professional dog trainer, but I understand the importance of consistency, particularly when a puppy or young dog is adjusting to a new environment. I am also comfortable adapting care for older dogs, including gentler or shorter walks, more frequent toilet breaks, medication schedules and plenty of quiet time to rest. I understand that senior dogs can be especially attached to familiar routines, so I will take the time to learn what makes your dog feel safe and comfortable. Above all, I am reliable, organised and communicative. I will treat your dog as an individual, follow your instructions carefully and send regular photographs and updates throughout their stay. I work remotely from home, so pet care fits easily into my normal routine. I can provide regular toilet breaks, company and attention throughout the day, with walks before work, during my lunch break and again in the afternoon or evening, depending on your dog’s usual schedule. I also have a small garden where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time and regular toilet breaks. We live just a five-minute walk from beautiful Alexandra Park, which is ideal for daily walks, sniffing and exploring. My working hours are generally earlier in the day, leaving plenty of time for longer walks, play and relaxed time together later on. At weekends, I have more flexibility for longer outings and can adapt my plans around the pets staying with me. I keep boarding small-scale and usually care for pets from one household at a time, so I can follow their normal feeding, walking and sleeping routine as closely as possible. I will always ask how long your pet is comfortable being left alone and make sure their stay suits their individual needs. I aim to create a calm, comfortable environment where every pet can settle at their own pace. I usually care for pets from one household at a time, allowing me to give them plenty of individual attention and maintain a peaceful home. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding, walking, medication and sleeping routines. Dogs are supervised in the garden, kept on lead unless otherwise agreed, and never left alone for longer than they are comfortable with. Before a first booking, I arrange a meet and greet so we can discuss your pet’s personality, habits and any health, behavioural or safety needs. I will also ask about recall, reactivity, separation anxiety and how they behave around unfamiliar dogs and people. When caring for pets in their own home, I treat both the animals and the property with respect. I keep to their usual routine, leave the home clean and secure, and send regular photos and updates so owners can feel confident that everything is going well.
“Thank you Philippa for taking such good care of my whippet. He was happy and relaxed when I came to collect him. And I loved the picture updates. I felt reassured he was well looked after whilst he was with you. Hopefully see you again!”

“We were absolutely delighted with Bethany’s care of Bonnie. She rushed in to the house to meet Bethany the second time and was obviously very happy. We would highly recommend her care.”

“So grateful to Ricky and his pups for spending the day with Pablo at the last minute. Ricky has fantastic calm energy that made Pablo feel instantly comfortable, and gave us confidence that he was in great hands.”

“Bill is absolutely amazing. Has a lovely calm presence that makes you feel really confident leaving your dog with him. Poppy has such a great time when she’s there and he really pays attention to her needs and wants which is all you can ask for! Would highly recommend!”

“Alicia is a lovely lady, and we like her. More importantly our dogs like her too, and they were sad to say goodbye. Alicia has a lovely, easily accessible house, with a decent-sized fully enclosed garden. Very safe for our four-pawed friends. Julian Carter”

“Jo is absolutely amazing with Poppy. Sends lots of lovely updates of the fun they’re having together throughout the day and Poppy always is so excited to spend time with her. So kind and caring of her needs. Would highly recommend!”

“Elizabeth has a great space for looking after dogs. Our dog Violet settled easily and was very happy when we picked her up and had clearly had a good play as she fell asleep right after we picked her up. Thanks so much, if we ever need a dog sitter in the area again we'll definitely look you up.”

“I've never felt so at ease so fast with people looking after our lovely friendly Elsie. The love and care is so visible across all our messages, in person interactions and the lovely photos Bethany shared of Elsie spending the day at their home. Elsie was, unsurprisingly, livid at me taking her home. I look forward to Elsie's future visits ❤️”

“Matthew and Tony were excellent! Incredibly flexible with a short notice booking, early start time and a pick up time based on a hospital appointment. Trixie had a brilliant time, lots of running and playing chase. Matthew put her at ease really quickly and dealt with a sensitive dog really well. I would highly recommend Matthew, and I will 100% use him again.”

“Jordie has looked after my whippet Bailey twice now and taken great care of him. Jordie is friendly, welcoming and understanding of dogs' needs. Bailey has returned both times very happy and calm and I'm more than happy for him to stay with Jordie again. Thanks.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I got my own at age 6, regularly petsitting for neighbours and friends from age 13. I also volunteered several days a week at an animal shelter for four years, so I've had lots of experience with a wide range of breeds, sizes, ages, and needs. I have a rescue lab mix of my own now, who’s always looking for a new friend. I work 100% remote with a flexible schedule so I’m easily able to fit my day around any dog’s routine. I’m familiar with dogs’ typical needs as I take care of my own! I'm happy to follow whatever routine your dog is used to in your home, and can adapt to your dog's specific needs and preferences. I'll communicate with you on a regular basis so you know your dog is doing well.
“These guys were brilliant with our dog. Really went out of their way to help our dog get settled, met beforehand to check the dogs got on, and walked to the house together too on the day again to help our dog settle. Definitely recommend them :)”
About: We are a retired couple with our own young male golden retriever who have plenty of time on our hands to look after your pet & pamper him or her. Toby our goldie gets on well with all dogs. Before our present dog we had a very lovable goldie called Sam for 14.5 years. We really enjoy walks in the woods and on the beaches . We have a small enclosed secure garden for playing games with our dog and any visitor. We do 3 walks a day with Toby, morning, around lunchtime and evening. All in all we are pretty sure your pet will have an enjoyable time with us and will be most welcome. Having our own dog pet care is primary in everything we do on a day to day basis. From morning till night Toby & any other dog is our priority. Toby has a very secure environment, a safe enclosed garden, when it's hot the house is cool especially where we have tiles. There are plenty of walks in the area.

“Madalyn truly loves dogs and my boy feels very comfortable with her and her pooches. After the first day, he had such a wonderful time that he now drags me to the door and toddles off to play with his new best friends and snuggle Madalyn. It gave me real peace of mind knowing my dog was in a home surrounded by happy, well-looked-after dogs, and treated as part of the family rather than just a booking. I got regular updates, photos, and could see how relaxed and content he was the whole time. It’s obvious that Madalyn understands dog behaviour and goes above and beyond to make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about dogs, this is the perfect place. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

Elsie was welcomed like an old friend, I thought she'd have a good time and the photos and regular updates confirmed that. Elsie confirmed it herself when her tail went down when her lead went on at pickup, then softly mewling at me on the drive home to tell me i had made a mistake!

From the moment we got the Bud was so excited to see Matthew and Tony. The dogs instantly hit it off rolling around and playing which instantly put my mind to rest. Bud had a great day playing and chilling and was clearly very chilled and happy when I came to pick him up. Thanks so much Matthew and Tony. Would certainly book again if I’m in the area.

Nawal took such beautiful care of Pablo. He’s a gigantic high energy puppy who can be a handful when he’s bored, but she was completely unphased, gave him loads of exercise, mental stimulation and love, and shared photos and updates with us all day so we felt totally at ease. She has magical calm energy, and is a genuine animal lover. Pablo didn’t want to leave!

Tsarina was so great! The original communication was really fast and they answered all of our questions. We also were impressed with the Google form and how organised and well thought out it was. Spud was a little overtired from a long journey and they handled him brilliantly. Would definitely recommend!

Samantha looked after our rather anxious older whippet for us whilst we visited Hastings. We dropped our whippet off and were pleased from the start as Samantha greeted our whippet (and us) quietly and calmly. Her home also reflected this - a calm, comfortable, pet friendly space. She asked good questions about our pet and her habits, and introduced her own dog later on when ours had had a chance to settle in. She is obviously an experienced, gentle and knowledgeable dog person. If we visit Hastings again we would not hesitate to book Samantha to look after our beloved wee dog.

Bethany understood how my separation anxiety was worse than Murphy's. She gave me regular updates during the day, which made me feel at ease. Murphy had many walks and enjoyed the dog friendly cafe. I'll definitely use Bethany again, for sure! Thank you Bethany! xx

From the moment I dropped Hector off with Daniel,Alida and of course not forgetting George I felt at ease.not only are they all warm and welcoming (I am a very nervous dog mum ) but they keep you informed throughout the day which really helps . I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone that needs someone to look after there pets .When I dropped hector off on the second day he ran to the door and was excited and that is a definite recommendation from him as well !

- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
