I'm currently between jobs so am flexible to your dogs' walking needs. I would welcome a companion by my side on my regular walks. I usually walk along the seafront and also enjoy the green spaces in Hastings and St Leonard's, along with the pleasant residential areas the locality has to offer. As I don't have access to a car, most walks would be within walking distance.

Dog skills

Safety, trust & environment

When at the dog's home, I pay close attention to them when they are in their garden to make sure they're safe. I believe in building up rapport with each dog so I get to know their individual needs.

Information Paul B. would like to know about your pet

As my house and pet sitting practice has progressed and diversified, I am much more aware of a pet's general needs. The latter necessitates me to be more flexible, comfortable and adaptable to various dog breeds. In the meantime, I look forward to caring for more cats.

A typical day

I enjoy building up a trusting and nurturing relationship with pets who I have the benefit of looking after. I find that good, long walks can help enormously with my own mental and emotional wellbeing. I feel very privileged and fortunate to be fulfilling my job as a walker and sitter – as essentially I feel fit physically and I have the skills to be able to be dexterous and versatile in business operations.

Location

St Leonards on Sea, United Kingdom

Paul B.'s Neighborhood

Autistic gentleman who totally enjoys pets

Pet care experience

I grew up in a household of cats and more recently have experience of walking dogs, including labradoodles, Cocker Spaniels, poodles, greyhounds and Samoyeds. I have also got experience of dog-sitting at the owner's house, including early morning walks and late finishes. At present, I would prefer to work with quieter, more reserved canines.

Paul was great. Our two dogs took to him the minute he walked through the door, even though they are usually very anxious.

Paul is such a sweet gentleman who is communicative and willing to put in the extra mile of effort. As someone who's still growing his experience of different dogs through sitting, he did need a bit more guidance than other sitters we've used. But he got to know our two girls quickly, and I was able to go to my job with peace of mind that they were in good hands.
