I would like to highly recommend Leah as a pet sitter.Although I have only met Leah a couple times of times so far, she made an instant wonderful impression on me. I own a very wary nervous dog who normally takes a long time to trust new people, remarkably and completely out of character my dog warmed to Leah immediately.Leah has a brilliant warm energy around her and a natural affinity for animals that dogs can clearly sense. Apart from being fantastic with pets she is a warm and friendly person to be around and deal with.I have complete peace of mind leaving my dog in her care and whole-heartedly recommend her Shirley 30/6/26

Amy came to the home a couple of times before the stay to meet with Edie and get to know her and go out for a couple of walks with her, this has been really good to help Edie who can be a bit nervous of change. Amy kept me informed whilst we were away, sending pictures of pickle and Edie to let me know how they were. Really happy with the way the way they were looked after. Will definitely use Amy again

Paul was kind and thoughtful, and although he was quite new to dog sitting he really took things in his stride despite being outside his comfort zone at times. He was respectful to us as owners and very patient with our dog who can sometimes be a handful. He did an overnight sit in our house and left the place as he found it. Paul was very honest and communicative at all times and really worked hard to ensure he did the best job he possibly good!

About: Hi I’m Hollie, I am an artist and I love cooking and reading. I have a huge love for all animals and feed anything that comes in my garden. I am mummy to an 8yr old Maine mix called Gary, he is a very sweet and affectionate boy who also has a mischievous side and a 4yr old Sphynx cat called Pierogi, who is a clingy, wrinkly, needy delight. I don’t have any children, and I work for myself, therefore I have a lot of flexibility and fewer commitments. I recently lost my sweet tabby girl to dementia, I was so fortunate to have been her Mumma for 17 wonderful years. I am not ready to “replace” her, so I thought I could get my feline fix by helping to care for other people’s cats. I do not charge peak fees as not having children means those times are not an issue for me, I also know that going away at peak times is already a more expensive holiday for you before you even consider pet sitting.

Lauren did a fantastic job of looking after our two cats while we were away. She was conscientious, reliable and excellent at keeping us updated and responding to messages. The cats had the companionship they needed and Lauren made every effort to maintain their daily routine. Our cats were very comfortable with her and were more than happy to get their cuddles, brushes and strokes from her right from the start. We came home to happy, healthy cats, a clean and tidy house and were able to enjoy a worry free trip. Lauren comes highly recommended!

We came home to two very happy and relaxed cats after Kasia looked after them for three days. We opted for house sitting as opposed to pop in visits and what a difference it made to our furry babies! They had obviously been really glad to have their regular daily routine undisturbed as well as the company, strokes, cuddles and games they got from Kasia who followed our instructions really well and left our house in perfect condition. Our cats warmed to her really quickly which was a great sign as they are both quite sensitive and we got updates and photos on a daily basis making us feel relaxed and confident that they were in good hands. We would highly recommend Kasia as she was reliable and trustworthy with an obvious flare for bonding quickly with other peoples pets. Thank you Kasia 😻

About: I have always had cats or dogs in the household. It doesn’t feel like home without them. I have recently moved and am waiting for a good time before getting another pet. I am missing being around cats and dogs and would love to help out other people who need some support. I have always looked after family/friends animals. I have always been surrounded by animals, and they’ve been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the past year, I’ve also had the chance to look after other people’s pets, which has been such a rewarding experience. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or simply spending time with them, I truly love caring for animals and making sure they feel happy and loved. I have plenty of time to spend with your little once. I can do most week days after 10. And am available some weekends after 10. I will care for every animal with love, patience, and attention, always making their safety my top priority. I create a warm and secure environment where pets can feel relaxed, happy, and well looked after. Building trust is just as important, I take the time to get to know each animal’s unique personality and needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for at all times. My goal is to provide a safe, trustworthy, and loving space where every pet feels at home.

About: I’ve looked after a few dogs recently, I really enjoy giving them company while their owners enjoy a break. I’ve looked after multiple family friends pets while they’re away, it’s a privilege to be let into peoples homes and look after their babies. I have a work whenever job so can fit that around the animals needs, I’m and experienced driver so can get out to different places. I am studying at university but can work that around life, I do placement blocks but only 3 days a week. I have a caring and calm nature so I’ll be able to build trust with your animal, I take my time and don’t rush to make sure they get everything they need.

About: I am a registered veterinary nurse with years of experience fostering rescue dogs. I am especially confident with large breed and senior dogs. I work from home so can provide constant care and company for your best friend! Registered Veterinary Nurse (BSc Veterinary Nursing), C-SQP. Worked for several years at Battersea Dogs & Cats home in both the fostering department and clinic team. I work from home so can provide constant care, cuddles and attention for your doggy friend. I also have a lot of experience training puppies so your doggo might come back with a few new tricks! I am a prolific dog foster carer (48 so far!) for this reason I do not have any pets of my own to allow space for providing a safe and comfortable environment for dogs. I highly highly recommend Leslie and Max!! They went out of their way to help us out at short notice and it was so reassuring to know Hector was happy and cared for during the day, he was taken out for a walk and given lots of treats and he was very disappointed when Max went home at the end of the day. Wouldn't hesitate to leave a dog in their care. Thank you so much!

FAQs for House Sitting - Rother

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Rother on Rover is £46 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,353 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rother. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Rother walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rother choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
