Pet care experience
Caring Dog Lover (WFH)
I’ve had dogs in my life since childhood and have spent many years helping care for dogs belonging to friends and family. Over the last 10+ years I’ve regularly helped with walking, feeding, company and general care, and I genuinely love being around animals. I work from home part of the week, which means I can offer dogs plenty of attention, companionship and regular walks throughout the day. I understand how important trust and reliability are when leaving your pet with someone, and I always aim to provide a calm, caring and safe environment where dogs feel comfortable and well looked after. I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine closely and can provide regular updates and photos for peace of mind while you’re away.

Gemma was super wonderful! She happily booked us in last minute and sent me lovely updates and videos of how Maggie was settling. Maggie gets super anxious when people leave the house but Gemma spent so much time playing, walking and treating her that Maggie looked right at home when I came to pick her up! I would highly recommend, and will definitely book again ❤️❤️❤️

Gemma was so lovely, she was great with lucky and would highly recommend her

I would happily use Gemma again to look after my dog, Honey. Gemma is very friendly and kept me updated regularly with messages, videos and photos whilst looking after Honey. Gemma was also very thoughtful and brought treats with her for Honey to have. Honey was very at ease and relaxed after Gemma had been caring for her.

Gemma has been minding our Pomeranian x Frenchie cross, Luna, many times over the past six years, usually for a week or two at a time. Whenever she's with Gemma, she's always so happy, she runs straight to her when she sees her. When we even mention Gemma's coming, Luna bolts round the house looking for her. We joke that Gemma's her dogmother, because she's basically next in line after us to look after her. Last Christmas we even got sent a video of Luna with her own Christmas dinner and a plate at the table, that's how much Gemma treats her like her own. I can't imagine trusting anyone else to look after her for that long while we're away on holiday. She's the kindest, most caring, gentle person, and animals flock to her. We all know animals know the good ones. Luna loves her. Your animal will be in safe hands with her.
Gemma was absolutely amazing with Trine, my guide dog, and I could not recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, she understood how important it was to follow all the correct rules and routines for a working guide dog. I always felt completely confident that Trine was safe, happy and being properly cared for while she was with Gemma. Whenever Trine came home, there were never any unwanted changes in her behaviour or training. This meant so much to me, as it showed that Gemma had respected her boundaries, followed my instructions carefully and treated her with genuine kindness and affection. Choosing someone to look after your guide dog requires a huge amount of trust, and I am extremely happy that I chose Gemma. She is reliable, caring and an absolutely wonderful person. I would confidently recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their dog.
Gemma is the best dog sitter/walker! She looked after my dog Cooper a number of times (sadly now over the rainbow bridge) and he was an older, bigger dog (ridgeback/English bull terrier cross) who could be a little nervous but she handled him so well and with so much love. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gemma as she truly loves animals and is a lovely person as well. 10/10.

Schedule
I work a hybrid schedule, spending 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home each week. My work-from-home days are flexible rather than fixed, which allows me to be accommodating where possible. I work Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, and can also offer some evening and weekend availability with advance notice. While I don’t have a garden, I live in a spacious and comfortable flat in Hove, just a 5-minute walk from Hove Lawns and the beach. This means your pet will still enjoy plenty of fresh air, exercise and lovely walks in a relaxed seaside setting. I always aim to provide a calm, caring and comfortable environment where pets feel safe and well looked after.
