Life long dog owner, I am a university lecturer in ecology and animal biology. I am fully DBS checked. 6 years ago I rescued a beautiful pup from Hungary who loves playing with other dogs, and we have since had the pleasure of looking after a few amazing pups via Rover. After taking a little break because of work commitments, I am so glad to have time again to meet and help new pups and their owners. To ensure your peace of mind while you are at work or away on holiday, let me put my experience to work by looking after your furry best friend, in my home. In addition to helping Benny overcome his traumas as a street dog with positive training, I have experience with my childhood dog (a sweet English setter) and from fostering dogs (including a 2 year old Pomeranian). I have volunteering experience at a dog shelter, where I learnt to interact and care for dogs of many different breeds, personalities, life stories and needs. I will give frequent toilet breaks throughout the day in my fenced garden, and daily exercise through long walks in the South Dawns or at the beach and lots of play with Benny, a trustworthy companion who will make your furry best friend feel right at home and loved until you return. In my home, dogs have full access to all spaces, sofas and beds, but I will maintain the rules you keep in place with them in your home. To guarantee I give my undivided attention to the pups I host, I host one dog at a time or up to two dogs only if from the same household. I dedicate my time to keep them happy and healthy, and to cuddles! Always lots of cuddles. I will only walk dog(s) from the same household at any given time, to ensure I respect their pace and give them plenty of time to sniff, relieve themselves and enjoy their time outside. When on a walk, I always keep dogs on a lead. I use a retractable one to give them a bit more freedom.

Valentina provided exceptional care for our often anxious and very needy labradoodle for 2 nights. I received comforting updates while I was away and lots of photos of a very content happy dog. Would highly recommend Valentina as a dog sitter!
Valentina made us feel totally at ease when we first met up , very professional and reassuring. Riley stayed with her for 3 nights and loved it ! We totally relaxed knowing he was well cared for and Valentina kept us regularly updated with messages and pictures of Riley living the best life ever ! Would highly recommend Valentina and will definitely look forward to using her services again 🙏
Valentina is awesome!! She was very flexible when we had a change the arrangement and came to stay at our house. Juno loved her being her and she was extremely well looked after. Valentina sent messages and pictures while we were away. I would highly recommend!
Both Mike and Valentina took excellent care of Mattie. His first time using someone on Rover. Both met up to see how my dog and their dog got on prior to his stay. Photos and updates shared every day. Enclosed garden at property to ensure he was kept in. Very responsive with all communication. Would have no doubt to leave Mattie with them again and their lovely dog. Would gladly recommend.
We feel so lucky to have found Valentina to look after our dog, Cassie for a week while we were on holiday. She is an absolute gem! She clearly loves dogs and is very kind, knowledgeable and conscientious and obviously takes the responsibility really seriously. Cassie settled in really well with her despite being a slightly nervous older dog and was clearly very well looked after. Valentina kept us updated with pictures and messages throughout the week which was really reassuring. We will definitely ask her to look after Cassie again and can wholeheartedly recommend her as a wonderful carer for any dog.
Valentina was great - amazing communication throughout, super friendly and Rupert was clearly very well looked after and comfortable in their house. We felt confident of them taking care of his dietary needs and little quirks! Will definitely regularly book again

Schedule
I am in charge of my weekly schedule at work. I am therefore able to give any dog in my home my full attention. If my calendar shows available, I will be home full time to look after them.

I am fully DBD checked. I have a fenced garden where dogs can hang out, and full access to all areas in the house. I can do basic positive training. I always walk dogs on their leads, or use an extendable one for a bit more freedom.

A typical day
I offer daily exercise, as I love walking and running! We have 2 parks nearby, and also access to the Dawns and the beach after a short car ride or a nice long walk.
