“Bella had a fabulous time with Gary and his partner Anita.during her stay. Bella was taken for very long walks by Gary, which being a highly energetic Patterdale , was perfect as she absolutely loves her walks! Gary kept me updated everyday with how Bella was and sent me photos with updates, which kept me completely reassured that she was ok and was having great fun! She loved playing with lots of toys and also received lots of cuddles, which she loved and Gary & Anita treated her as if she was part of the family and she really loved being there with them both. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gary and will definitely be booking Bella in to stay there again in the future!”

About: I had my little girl Sushi for 12 years. She was my whole world and now I want to help give your dogs a loving home while you are away, giving you comfort and reassurance so you are not worrying and enjoy your holiday. I work from home so your dog will not be left alone. I am Happy to adapt to your pets routine and give lots of cuddles. I have a fenced garden that your dog will have free access to with the doors left open unless the weather is poor. I have no children or other pets. I live very close to fields and there is a park nearby for walks.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Malling
I have to admit that after many years this was the first time I have left my dogs but they are used to other people in training classes. Julie took care to understand their needs and make friends a few days before I left them. I was satisfied with the domestic care set up and Julies appraisal of the pair. Miri and Nahum were absolutely normal when I collected them, no excess of fuss towards me. Julie reported that they had been good, had eaten well and enjoyed their carrot as treats. They had walks which Miri the 2 year old enjoyed and played with other dogs. I will have no hesitation in using Julie again.

Belle has been to stay with Alex a number of times over the past few years. Belle always comes back happy and clearly has a great time, as she just becomes part of the extended dog family and enjoys lovely walks and plenty of playtime with Alex's own dogs. We always get updates during Belle's stays and it really is a home from home.

Preeti was an amazing dog sitter! Even on very short notice, she looked after my dog Lai Lai as if she were her own. Lai Lai even made a new bestie, Benji. Preeti was so welcoming and friendly — she even bought Lai Lai a toy and a blanket. I’d definitely recommend her. She’s truly wonderful with dogs!

All has gone well. It looks like they have had a great time. They’ve come back to us looking for a rest. We appreciated the daily videos and pictures to update us. Can definitely recommend Tina. She took great effort to assure us in our visit that they would be well looked after. Not sure Luna really noticed as she had so much fun. Holly a bit more tentative, but we can see she was happy enough after a day or two. Many thanks from Luna and Holly (and their owners)

Karen was absolutely amazing with Reggie. I was really anxious leaving Reggie but Karen put my mind at ease straight away. I had daily updates with photos and videos. Even when I messaged(a lot) to ask how he was Karen always replied straight away. I am so thankful for how Karen looked after Reggie when I was away. ❤️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
