“I’m so incredibly grateful to Matthew for helping with my puppy at the very last minute. He was very kind and understanding ,and even stayed twice as long as I had booked and paid for. He took such thoughtful care of him, helped him eat, use his toilet spot properly , and kept him calm and comfortable. You can really tell how much he knows about how to look after puppies . Mishkin clearly adored him and felt safe with him right from the start. It couldn’t have gone better. I’d recommend to anyone looking for someone caring, reliable and wonderful with puppies”

Lulu seemed so happy and comfortable with her, which meant I genuinely didn’t have to worry about her at all while I was away. About: Hello! We are Giuliana and Lucas, a dedicated couple currently traveling around the UK. For the past 4 months, we’ve been housesitting and pet-sitting full-time across England and Scotland. We are thrilled to now bring our passion and experience to the Rover community! What sets us apart is our extensive, hands-on experience with a wide variety of pets and needs. We don’t just watch over pets; we treat them like family. Our background includes: Puppy Care: We know the patience, energy, and consistency required to look after high-energy young pups and maintain their routines. Senior & Medical Care: We are fully experienced in administering medications and providing the gentle, attentive care that senior or special-needs dogs require. All Shapes & Sizes: From large, energetic dogs that need strong handlers to independent cats who just want a cozy lap, we adapt perfectly to every personality. Since we travel and work as a team, your pet will get double the love, attention, and supervision. We are organized, extremely clean, and committed to giving you peace of mind with regular updates and photos! As full-time house and pet sitters, looking after animals is not just a side job, it is our primary focus and daily lifestyle. Because we travel and work remotely as a team, our schedule is incredibly flexible. Your pets will rarely be left alone, as at least one of us is almost always at home to keep them company, stick to their exact feeding schedules, and give them the attention they deserve. Our daily routine completely adapts to your pet's needs: from morning walks and playful afternoons to administering medications on a strict timeline or simply sharing quiet cuddles on the sofa. Your pet’s comfort and routine dictate our day. We care for pets exclusively in the owner's home, ensuring they stay in their safest, most comfortable, and familiar environment. We treat every home we step into with the utmost respect, cleanliness, and responsibility. Safety and Trust are our top priorities: Home Security: We strictly follow all security guidelines, ensuring doors and gates are locked, alarms are set, and keys are safely managed. Pet Safety: We maintain a sharp eye on their environment, making sure harmful food or hazards are out of reach. On walks, dogs are always kept securely on their leashes unless specified otherwise by you in safe, designated areas. Medical Peace of Mind: We are highly responsible with medication schedules and always have the details of your preferred local vet on hand in case of any emergency. Communication: We believe communication is key to your peace of mind. You will receive daily updates, photos, and videos so you can see exactly how happy and relaxed your pet is while you are away.

About: Hi, I’m Luis Andre. I’ve loved dogs for my whole life, and I’d be delighted to give your pup a warm, gentle and loving experience. I have experience with puppies, adult dogs and seniors. My first dog was Roly, a playful Beagle who was with me from the age of six. When he grew older, I dedicated myself to giving him the happiest and most comfortable final years possible. Later on, I helped care for Viena, a Golden Retriever from my partner, both as a puppy and again when she was four to five years old, for almost two years in total. What you can expect from me: ✔️ Individual attention so your dog always feels seen and cared for ✔️ Frequent updates with texts, photos and videos ✔️ Safe walks and fun playtime (if you and your pup are comfortable with it) ✔️ A calm, loving and reliable environment I bring the same care, patience and affection I gave to Roly and Viena to every dog I look after. Feel free to message me anytime. I’ll be happy to answer your questions and get to know your dog. 🐾 I am currently pursuing a full-time master’s at UCL. Although my studies are full-time, my schedule is quite flexible. I usually attend university from Monday to Thursday every two weeks, and when I’m not on campus, I spend my time at home reading and studying. Next year, my schedule will be even more flexible as I focus on my research, allowing me to be at home most of the time and dedicate plenty of attention to caring for your dogs. I currently live in a flat with three rooms, one of which is furnished, providing a safe and comfortable environment for pets. That said, I prefer caring for dogs in their own home, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I make sure to follow each owner’s instructions carefully, maintain a clean and safe space, and give pets plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities.
About: I'm the proud mum of a 7 year old Jack Russell I've had since she was a puppy, and I grew up surrounded by dogs: a giant schnauzer as our family dog, then two German shepherds, two American Akitas and a dachshund. They've taught me a lot about temperament, handling, and how differently each dog needs to be read. My own girl is high maintenance, and I mean that fondly. She's anxious, she's reactive, she'll hoover anything off the pavement given half a second, and she's allergic to more or less everything. Seven years of that has trained me to be genuinely vigilant, I read body language early, I watch what goes in the mouth, and I notice when something's a bit off before it becomes a problem. That's why I want to hear everything about your dog. Likes, dislikes, triggers, the route they prefer, the neighbour's cat they can't be trusted around, medication, allergies, the exact way they like their food put down. No detail is too small, and nothing you tell me will be too much. I work from home as an intuitive reader and spiritual coach, so my schedule is flexible and I can genuinely fit around your dog's routine rather than squeezing them into mine. I'm detail-oriented, reliable, and I show up when I say I will. I'd love to meet you both. I'm self-employed and work from home, which makes my weekday mornings and early afternoons reliably free Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. My own client work sits in the late afternoons and evenings, so daytime pet care fits around it. That means I can offer proper midday cover for dogs whose owners are out at work, and I'm not rushing between bookings the way someone fitting walks around a full-time job has to. I take one dog at a time, so once your slot is booked, that time is yours. I keep my Rover calendar accurate and up to date. If you need a regular weekly slot, I'd love to set one up, dogs settle far better with a routine and a familiar face. Before any booking I'll do a free meet and greet at your home. We'll go through everything, feeding, portions, medication, allergies, lead and harness, where they walk, what sets them off, house rules. On keys and access, I'll follow whatever you're most comfortable with. A drop-in visit is usually around 30 minutes, and I'll do exactly what we've agreed: fresh water, feeding as instructed, a toilet break, and proper time for play, company or a cuddle rather than a quick in-and-out. Walks are booked separately if you'd like one. Dogs stay on lead unless you've told me otherwise in writing and I'm confident it's safe. I'll leave your home as I found it, and I'm happy to take in post, water plants or put the bins out. You'll get a message with photos after every visit, so you know how your dog is doing while you're out.

About: Hi there! A little bit about myself – my name is Kamil, and I grew up with a dog in my family. I miss that special bond every day, and being around dogs has always brought me so much joy. I’m really missing it here in London. I work from home three days a week, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog, giving them the attention and care they deserve. I live near Haggerston Park and absolutely love taking dogs there for walks. If there’s more time, I’m happy to head over to Victoria Park for a longer stroll. Whether your dog is playful and energetic or more relaxed, I tailor each walk to fit their needs and ensure they have a great time. I treat every dog like family, and I’m committed to making sure your dog has the best experience while you’re away! I work from home three days a week, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to your dog. On those days, I can offer flexible pet care, whether it’s long walks, playtime, or simply hanging out with your dog to keep them company. On the other days, I’m happy to arrange dog walks or visits to suit your needs. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take only one dog at a time, ensuring they get my full attention and care. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away.

About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life, with my family growing up with dogs of various breeds and taking care of neighbours and friends pets as well. Have experience training puppies and in senior animal care, and would be excited to meet your furry friend and provide them with the care they need whilst you are away. Although working full-time, I am able to work from home most Fridays and would be able to take your dog to a local park to relieve themselves and get rid of some energy, before a longer walk (suited to your pets needs) during lunch time. The rest of the day would consist of relaxing, playing and puzzle games for your pet, before another evening walk to make sure they are tired out by the end of the day. Naturally since not all pets are able/want to go outside, this will depend on your dogs needs and wishes, with a relaxing and quite environment suitable for every pet, and loads of activities for those who want it. I have lots of experience with pets of all ages, and am happy to adjust to your training methods and your pets needs. I have personally crate trained puppies until they are old enough to not cause mischief but am happy to continue with this method, or not, depending on your preference. Pets would be allowed in every room of the house, with windows and doors being secured well during their stay. I would not have any guests over during your pets stay, unless advised that they would not mind this, as your pets comfort is of top priority. For house visits, I would make sure your pet is well fed and watered, has been eating and has not made a mess anywhere, as well as check up on their condition visually and physically as much as is possible. I will also send up frequent and detailed updates on what your pet has gotten up to, with loads of cute pictures!
About: I have years of experience with dogs and believe caring for them in the way they need is the most important element of pet care. My dog, Tina (Jack Russell Chihuahua mix) has been with us for 9 years, Winnie before that was with us for 5 years (English Bulldog). Tina might be considered a senior (now 11 y/o) but still has so much energy in her. Each dog has different needs, quirks, and a personality that I really enjoy learning about, and loving. Meeting new dogs and getting along with them comes naturally to me and takes a level of understanding that is unique to each dog. It would be my absolute pleasure to take them for a walk or drop-in to take care of them whenever you need a little extra help! I’m ann early career professional in research and communications. I am flexible and willing to adjust my schedule according to you and your pet. I live my own flat. I love being outdoors and walking. There are parks and green areas around that I can take them to, based on their needs.
“I am very pleased with the experience. Despite some initial scheduling difficulties, she was very kind and adapted well to the situation. She was caring and attentive to my cat's needs, ensuring that he was well-fed, safe, and comfortable. I appreciate her flexibility and dedication, and I would highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a reliable and compassionate cat sitter.”

About: What sets me apart is a lifetime of dedicated dog companionship combined with hands on, specialised senior care. Having been raised around dogs my entire life, I intuitively understand canine behaviour, body language, and routines. Most recently, I lovingly cared for my own pug through their golden years. This experience taught me the patience, gentle handling, and close monitoring required for senior pets, especially flat faced breeds. Whether your dog is an energetic adult needing a watchful eye or a sweet senior who requires a slower pace and medication administration, I provide the tailored, nurturing care they deserve. I currently offer dedicated pet care on evenings and weekends, making me the perfect fit for after work check ins, dinner feedings, or weekend getaways. Because my schedule is highly flexible during these times, your dog will receive my full, undivided attention. Please note that I am actively transitioning to full time, open availability in the near future! If you have a specific weekday request or a recurring schedule you would like to discuss for the coming weeks, please feel free to message me so we can plan ahead. Safety and trust are my absolute highest priorities. Since I provide care exclusively through drop-in visits and walks in your local area, I treat your home and your pet with the utmost respect and vigilance. During walks, your dog will always remain securely leashed. I focus entirely on them, staying alert to traffic, stray animals, and changing weather conditions. For drop-in visits, I strictly follow your entry and locking instructions to keep your home secure. I always double-check that doors are locked, security systems are armed, and fresh water is topped up before I leave. With a lifetime of dog experience, I am skilled at reading body language to keep your pet calm, safe, and happy.
About: I had a dog when I was a teenager and I used to live in Spain before coming here. Here in London I have taken care of two of my friends' cats and the dog of a third friend when they have gone on holidays. I have stayed at their houses as is easier for the pet to feel safe and at ease, I have made sure that they are feed, change the cats sand and taken the dog on walks and to the park to play. I am currently working 2–3 days a week in the mornings, up to 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, or 2:30 PM per day in retail, and three evenings a week as a childminder from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM (sometimes 5:30 PM). I am always free one whole day per week (mostly Tuesdays), most evenings, and Saturday afternoon. First of all, I make sure to follow all the instructions that the owner gives me. I keep an eye on anything they can eat and I play with them.

Amazing Tassia- perfect care for Betty! Regular updates and so accommodating, especially when I messaged short notice to say please can ‘you meet me with Betty at the tube station’ ! Nothing was too much! Kind, caring and considerate to all Betty’s needs- was mindful of feed ties and the needs for her walks (Betty is new on the lead and being on the floor). Tassia was mindful of taking her to safe places to walk. Thank you Tassia- couldn’t recommend her ably highly!!!

Michelle was fantastic with Hazel! She was responsive and easy to communicate with from the start, kept us updated throughout the week, and even took lovely photos of Hazel on her walks. We'd happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter.

Shona was absolutely wonderful with Cookie. She was reliable, caring, and kept me updated throughout, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Cookie was very well looked after, and it was clear he was comfortable and happy in her care. I wouldn't hesitate to leave him with Shona again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and thoughtful dog sitter.

Nathan was fantastic and I’d absolutely recommend him to others. After our meet and greet, I felt very comfortable with him dropping into the flat to feee and walk my dog while I was away. Nathan sent really lovely pictures and videos from each visit, which I appreciated. Overall, he provided a great service and I’d happily use his services again.

Irene has been a trusted walker and sitter for Neo for a while and she looked after him recently, whilst we went on holiday to Egypt! She sent regular updates, took care of him during the heatwave and he looked like he was right at home with her, as always! We're very lucky to have Irene as an option for Neo!

Blaise was very flexible and able to stay over at mine very last minute to care for my dog and two cats. As usual she was absolutely amazing. Blaise is kind and genuinely goes above and beyond to ensure your pets are feeling loved and cared for in your absence! I received lots of photos and videos of playtimes and cuddles in bed. My shy cat who is scared of his own shadow even warmed to her and slept in next to her which just made me feel so happy. It’s such a reassurance that she’s a vet nurse and is there if anything were to happen. I came home to a clean house, clean litter trays and 3 very happy pets. Couldn’t have asked for more! Exceptional service and highly recommend!

Amazing again thanks Ella! We booked Ella at short notice after some plans changed, and she had to let herself in to our house to feed Sparrow and take her for a walk, and then lock up again behind her. All went smoothly and she kept us informed along the way, which put my mind at rest. Highly recommended

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
