Since the age of 3, we have always owned dogs as family pets ranging from Alsatians down to little Border Terriers. I have a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, while having in excess of 10 years practical experience gained through both work experience and employment at a family owned kennels and rescue centre local to my parents in Somerset. I became close friends with one of the sons and we studied at university together. He has gone on to take over the business and is still my closest friend to this day! I am both confident and competent handling any size of any breed.

I am confident and capable handling animals in any given environment, from confined areas to large open spaces (the latter being more relevant to dog handling). I am very intuitive when it comes to both behaviour and body language, while having the knowledge and ability to navigate any scenario in a calm and compassionate manner.

Finley looked after our boxer Scooby and cat Scout for 8 nights when we were abroad. We came back to two very contented animals. Scooby obviously loved Finley and was very happy and relaxed with him. Finley made sure that Scooby was comfortable in the very hot weather, only taking him on walks when it was cooler, and giving him his allergy medication as needed. Scooby can be very needy and anxious when we are away, and quite wary of strangers, but he was trying to sit in Finley's lap within 5 minutes of him arriving, so we were very reassured that he would have a great time with Finley while we were away!
We have booked Finley twice, he was late the first time but was very good with our dog and so we decided to try and book him for the second time. Before confirming the second booking I made it clear he needed to be on time as my husband needed to leave for a meeting and therefore punctuality was very important. The second time he didn’t arrive at all, he didn’t message, or pick up the telephone when called. Highly unprofessional.
Finley looked after our dog for six nights and when we got home it was clear that the two of them had struck up a genuine bond. Our dog seemed really happy with Finley. It’s clear he truly cares about the dogs he looks after.
Fin took great care of Teddy, and Teddy seemed in great spirits when we got back at the end of the day. Fin was able to accept a relatively last minute request which was very much appreciated! Teddy can’t wait to have him back!
Finley was ace - very communicative, super flexible given last minute travel, and Mossie loved him. Came home to a very happy Maine Coon!
