“First time we ever use services like this for our cat. Initially we were a bit nervous but then we went ahead and booked it. Ashley came and met with us ahead of time and we introduced him to our pet. He’s been looking after our cat while we were away and she loved it. Ashley is responsible and genuinely care about animals. He provided us with pictures and updates throughout the whole time. I would strongly recommend Ashley and we would definitely use his services again in the future.”

“My dog Shane can be a little bit nervous with new people in the house, but Emily quickly calmed him down and he has really enjoyed his time with her. Emily is the first dogsitter I've booked through Rover and I've been really impressed. Emily is polite, professional and clearly has a real interest in making sure the dogs have a good time as well as putting the owners at ease while they are out.”
“Gemma looked after Tara for four days, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. She was always punctual and kept me in the loop with regular updates, which was really reassuring. She took the time to play with Tara and made sure every instruction was followed to the letter. Tara was so happy and clearly found a lively, caring friend while we were away. I’m so grateful for Gemma’s thoughtful and attentive approach—we’ll definitely be using her again in the future!”

“Alyce is so understanding and helped with a last minute booking, absolutely life saver!! Kept me feeling at ease knowing that Bronson was okay! She really understands Bronson and his way of showing love Thank you so much for everything :)”

“I left wrong key of property and Jenny patiently helped me to sort out this problem by going somewhere else to collect a second key even though it passed our agreed 30 min booking. I’m very thankful for that! She kept me updated on every visit by photos and texts and was always on time.”

About: Hi, I’m Larnie! I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember and have always had both dogs and cats in my life. I currently have one dog and four cats of my own, including a kitten that I raised from birth. I also cared for and raised a litter of four kittens, helping them grow into happy, healthy cats before finding homes for them. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and understanding each pet’s individual needs. I genuinely love animals and enjoy spending time with them, so you can be confident that your pets will be cared for with the same love and attention that I give my own. I have recently finished college, which means I currently have a very flexible schedule and can provide visits throughout the week. I’m available most days, with limited availability on Saturday afternoons and Sunday midday. I aim to work locally so I can be reliable and responsive for both regular and last-minute bookings. From September, my availability may become more limited as I move home, but I will continue offering pet services and will keep my schedule updated. The safety, comfort, and wellbeing of every pet in my care is my top priority. I believe pets are happiest when their usual routine is maintained, so I aim to provide calm, reliable care tailored to their individual needs. I have experience caring for both cats and dogs and currently have four cats and one dog of my own. For pet visits ,I can provide feeding, fresh water, litter tray cleaning - cats - , playtime, companionship, and medication if required with clear instructions. I understand that every pet has a different personality, and I will always respect their boundaries while making sure they feel safe and cared for. If boarding is required, I have a large secure fenced garden for dogs and an enclosed outdoor area for cats providing a safe environment for pets. I am also working towards creating an even better dedicated space for pet care in my home. Throughout every booking, I provide regular photo and video updates, and I’m always happy to keep owners informed for extra peace of mind. I will treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own.

“Maria is absolutely amazing. My cat was so well looked after. She checked rooms and cleared up any mess Kia had made. She went above and beyond. Maria is a complete superstar. 100/100. I would highly recommend her.”

About: I absolutely love dogs! We have had dogs in our lives for many years. We now have a Jack Russell terrier who is the friendliest dog ever! She loves having her furry friends around to play bless her and she is looking forward to meeting new friends! We have a fairly large garden for your dog to play in when back from walkies. I love to take my dog on walks to the beach or to the large fields, both if which are close to our house. I am a stay at home mum so have plenty of time to give fuss and attention to your dog (just as I do with my attention needy pooch!) We usually have a longer walk in the morning to the beach and in the afternoon go for one or two shorter 20/30 minute strolls but I can adjust to the specific needs of your dog. I have a securely fenced garden and when we're not on a walk, my pooch spends most of the time wandering in and out of the house into the garden or chilling and napping on the sofa. She is looking forward to a furry friend joining her!
About: Hi, I’m Olivia. I am a big dog lover. At my family home I have a dog Maisie, my cockapoo. She’s living with my Mum in Suffolk and I miss her dearly. And so, I am wanting to spend more time with dogs before I get my own puppy in the future! I have a fenced garden, I work from home and am 2 minutes from a huge park. I have lots of experience with dogs and am a keen walker (especially by the beach which is only 15 min walk from me) I do not have any kids or other pets living with me. I’ve got lots of experience with dogs and so please request me to get in touch. I’m really flexible so whenever your dog needs anything they will be the priority. I drive and am able to get to parks and beaches easily for nice long walks! I have a large flat with loads of room for your dog to roam. I have a fenced garden space. If your pet is staying they will stay in the lounge either on their bed or in a crate. I’m happy to let them on the sofa as well during the day.
“Anna looked after our cat Lily for a bit over 3 weeks and I can honestly say she genuinely gave the best care possible in her power for our little kitty. Any concerns we had she made sure our minds were at ease and went above and beyond in all of our requests to help make us feel the most comfortable. I would highly recommend Anna for anyone looking for the best care for their pet and will definitely be having Anna look after our Lily on all future holidays we will have. Thanks again Anna!”

About: I have always loved dogs and wanted my own one for many years. I finally adopted a tiny little pup in 2018. I’d like to use Rover to help others with small dog care as I know you want to leave your dog with someone who cares as much about them as you do. I'm fairly easy going and patient. I often take care of my friends dogs when they go away so have experience taking care of 2-3 small dogs at a time, though my preference would be just to have one other during the day when I’m working from home and at weekends. Happy to walk any size dog as long as they are good walking on a lead. Will only care for small dogs in my own home as I have a small dog. I work from home 4 days a week and can be available short notice for local walks in Leigh On Sea. Ideally walks before 9am, around lunchtime and after 6pm weekdays. Weekends available on an adhoc basis I have a small secure fenced garden with a metal staircase that leads down to it, so your pup will be safe to roam freely in the garden.

I met Sarah a few days before my trip so she could meet Squiz and we could just finalise details. Every day I got a few pictures and a video without fail and told me when she had fed Squiz. And can be quite nervous leaving your cat behind for the first time but Sarah sending me the pictures and videos was great…. I would recommend Sarah to anyone. She is friendly and easy going. Thank you Sarah!
Couldn’t have been happier with Maria while she looked after my 2 furballs Biscuit and Jet. I received regular updates and felt completely reassured while I was on holiday that they were in good hands, came home to very happy cats and wouldn’t hesitant to use Maria again. Thank you ☺️ xx
I want to thank Sheila for taking care of my cats Marley and Jazzy. She kept us updated daily and sent lots of photos of both of them. This put my mind at rest. Nothing was a problem for her. I would definitely book her again should we go away on holiday . Sheila has a lovely personality and is very friendly and experienced. Thank you so much Sheila.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
