About: We have been around dogs our whole lives and have been helping care for family, friends' and neighbours' pets. We understand the importance of keeping pets happy, safe and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it's feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, or simply providing companionship, we treat every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Elicia works from home during the day, while Jack works during the day and is home in the evenings, meaning there is usually someone available to provide care, attention and companionship. We already enjoy taking two walks each day, so regular exercise and outdoor time are part of our routine. Your dog would be treated as part of the family, with plenty of opportunities for walks, playtime, affection and relaxation throughout the day. We are committed to maintaining your pet's usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and settled while in our care. We provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment for every dog in our care. We live in a flat with access to a secure garden, giving dogs space to relax and enjoy outdoor time throughout the day. Dogs staying with us will receive at least two walks a day, alongside plenty of attention, playtime and companionship. We are happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs and will follow their normal routine to help them feel settled and secure. We will cater to your dog's feeding schedule and any specific care requirements, ensuring their needs are met while they are with us. Regular toilet breaks are provided throughout the day, and we ask that dogs are house-trained. We will send regular updates for what your doggy is up to!
“Fantastic sitter, Dino was very happy and relaxed with Juliet, so much he was a little upset when we bought him home and sulked.Highly recommended , look forward to next time. Thank you Juliet for peace of mind while we were away.”

“We can’t rate Lauren highly enough! Our Bella loved her time with Lauren and the kids. Trying to pick Bella up to bring her home and she curls up next to Lauren, which I’m taking as the dog equivalent of “I want to live here now”. We’ve already rebooked with Lauren for the next trip away”

About: My husband and I have been dog owners for most of our lives , we have recently retired so have plenty of time on our hands and want to open our home to welcome dogs to stay with us and our young Cavapoo, Bella. We have looked after friends and families dogs so far which has been most successful. We live in a bungalow in the Rawreth end of Rayleigh and have five foot fences surrounding our (approx) seventy x thirty foot garden. We have a dog flap which gives access to the garden, this can of course be locked upon request. We are recently retired so have plenty of time to welcome your pet dogs into our home. We are available throughout the week to offer attention and affection as well as exercise. We have a secure five foot fenced, seventy foot garden, this consists of a lawn and patio area. Our small Cavapoo will be delighted to offer company to your pooch.
“Thank you so much for looking after Nia so wonderfully! It was really a home from home for her, with Ria and Greg taking the time to find out about Nia’s routine meaning she settled in in no time at all. Regular updates too so it was great to see all the walks and games they got up to, keeping our spritely Labrador thoroughly entertained!! Would 100% recommend.”

About: When I was 16 I worked in a dog groomers, giving dogs baths and drying them. Then I started looking after my auntie’s dog overnight and walked him when they were away. 2 years ago I got my puppy Cooper. We have done lots of training, I love taking him out on walks we always try new places!! I am pet first aid trained. I’m currently working part time at a church with children and young people, I work in the mornings so I can do early walks, afternoon or evening as well as drop ins in the afternoon and evening. I am pet first aid training certified and your dog will. Be supervised at all time along the walks and I want your dog to feel comfortable so if I notice any distress we will go walk somewhere else.
About: I’ve cared for dogs, cats and fish ever since I was a kid. I love animals and am attentive to whatever their needs may be I work from home most of the week and only go into London twice a week. I love the company of a furry friend when working from home. I don’t have any pets at the moment and love the companionship of a furry friend. I have a large fenced in back yard and it is just my boyfriend and I in a spacious one bedroom townhome
“Can't recommend enough! They were great from the first contact all the way through and took very good care of our 2 girls for us. Pictures sent through the whole holiday which helped us to see that they were happy and also helped us not to worry lol. Can't thank them enough and we have already rebooked for April.”

“Pretzel had the most wonderful stay with Mica, Charlie, and Mollie! From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear he was in safe, loving hands. He went on great walks, had a brilliant playmate in Mollie, and came home happy. Mica and Charlie clearly treat their furry guests like family - it really was a home away from home for Pretzel. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. Highly recommended! 🐾”

“Rita was great, from day one we received photos of Teddy, kept us well updated with photos and messages. Great environment for dogs to run around and also relax. I would not hesitate in recommending Rita to anyone looking for a caring dog owner who puts your mind at ease. Thank you Rita!!”

“This is the first time we have left Suki overnight. We were obviously very concerned but Sue assured us she would be fine. Sue updated us with pictures so we could see she had settled down nicely. We would certainly recommend Sue to anyone looking for someone to look after their dog.”

“Daniel looked after Daisy and Chester for a trial overnight and we are so pleased that it went well. Regular updates showed that both dogs settled quickly and easily. They were comfortable and at home and when we picked the dogs up afterwards it was very obvious how well they had both taken to Daniel. Will be booking again.”

“Thank you for easing Rufus into a night away from home! This was a new one for us but I could trust he was being taken care of and that really made the experience less worrisome :)”

“Beverley was absolutely wonderful looking after our dog, Lola. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease knowing Lola would be in safe and caring hands. She was friendly, reliable, and went out of her way to make sure Lola was happy and well looked after. We're so pleased that we found Eleanor and Joe to look after our dog Luna who can be a little nervous at times. They were fantastic with her and it was a huge reassurance that she was being cared for so well while we were away. She seemed to feel very relaxed around them both and we wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
James and Deborah looked after my dog for a week at the end of May. I found them friendly, professional and with a genuine care for the animals they looked after. Great communication and regular updates were an added benefit. A safe and happy temporary home for my pup. Highly recommended.

Once again a fantastic stay with Juliet and her lovely family. Lexie looked so happy from the daily videos and updates that kept us informed of her stay. From drop off to pick up she was treated like one of the family. Can’t recommend Juliet highly enough to look after anyone’s treasured pooch they will be in safe hands. Thank you again Juliet you are amazing.

Tina is excellent, all around. She has had our golden retriever over twice and each time she cared for her so well. You can tell she really loves the dogs x This time around our puppy wasn’t settling and for hours she spent time with her, trying to help calm her down and staying with her while we tried to get back asap, and she was so understanding. She’s an absolute angel💗
Bertie had a great time with Estelle. I know she was worried because Bertie wouldn't eat for the first few days but once he started he was fine. From the photos she sent and all the updates he certainly enjoyed all his walks and loved being made a fuss of. She is a great carer/boarder and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anybody else. Thanks Estelle.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
