“Second time Ralph has stayed at Harry’s. Brilliant service and Ralph loves staying there. Lovely to get updates from harry about how Ralph is doing. Will definitely be using again”

“Tilly has had a wonderful weeks holiday with Juliet. Juliet treated Tilly like she was one of her family during her stay. We were so nervous about leaving her, but Tilly remembered Juliet and her family from her last short visit and seemed happy straight away. Juliet sent us lots of photos and videos which we really appreciated. It was so wonderful to see how settled and happy she was. I can't recommend Juliet enough and just want to say a big thank you again to her and Rob. See you soon!”

“This was my first time leaving Brad with someone else but needn't have worried. He had a great time with Rebecca, loved the garden!! Rebecca was very confident with Brad (he is a big dog) and sent updates and pics which was great. Already booked for next time.”

“Maria is super - so lovely, kind, flexibile, accommodating and very communicative. Plato had a great time and had lots of walks and fun with Maria. I know Plato would love to visit Maria again and we would be more than happy to leave him with her too ☺️”

“Sandra and Mike are wonderful sitters and they treated our working cocker Thandi like royalty. She had plenty of long country walks and was really well looked after throughout her stay. Their home is clean and secure with a big garden for Thandi to play in. Highly recommended ;-)”

“Thank you for easing Rufus into a night away from home! This was a new one for us but I could trust he was being taken care of and that really made the experience less worrisome :)”

“Ria and Greg were absolutely amazing from start to finish. Incredibly accommodating (even with a super last minute booking), helpful from start to finish, and looked after our nine year old beagle, Hugo, as if he were their own. Regular updates throughout the entire stay, always letting us know how he was doing - and of course lots of brilliant photos of walks, sleeps and cuddles. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thank you again Ria and Greg for such an amazing stay for Hugo! Will definitely be using again on our next trip away.”

“Our little Dolly stayed with Donna and Neil for 12 days and I can honestly say she had the best time. Donna and Neil are simply the best dog sitters you could wish for. So kind, caring and accommodating. They genuinely love all the dogs they care for and it shows. Dolly was so relaxed and happy the whole time she was there. Such a relief to know she is well looked after while we’re away. Thank you both so much. I think Dolly misses you both already ❤️❤️”

“Sue is amazing. We couldn’t have wished for a better person to take care of our little Frank whilst we were away getting married. We felt completely at ease and relaxed knowing he was having a lovely time and being loved as much as we love him, which is amazing as we had never left Frank in the care of anyone else apart from family before. We would highly recommend Sue to everyone & will be sure to book her for the future! Thank you again!!🤍”

“What a dog sitter!!!! Dean is absolutely 1st class dog sitter ! He welcomed our dog dodge into his house and took perfect care of him loads of long walks and we had updates with pictures and videos every day …dean takes into count all your dog needs and more when he looks after them and is very very caring ,dodge enjoyed his stay with Dean and has become his freind !! When we met Dean he asks all the right things about your dog and it showed us how much he was going to care and look after dodge ….the finest detail ! Dodge has now got his own personal dog sitter and we won’t even look anywhere else …this was the 1st time we had left our dog with anyone since we have had him and was a bit worried about it but trust me Dean is the best as far as we are concerned…dodge will be back at deans every holiday we have now and we know dodge will be getting a holiday as well at Deans ….thank you so much Dean for everything love from us but especially love from dodge xx woof woof”

“So happy that we left our Sonny with Sheila, we were naturally a little worried about leaving him for the first time while we went away but Sheila messaged us and sent pictures to let us know how he was getting on. Sheila and her son's really took care of Sonny and he really took to them! Highly recommended, thanks again!”
“Catriona was great, lots of lovely updates and great communication which made the whole process really easy from start to finish. Bronson was very comfortable and happy in her care. Can home a happy tired pooch. Her home is clean, tidy and very dog friendly. Would definitely use Catriona in the future.”

“Vīryanātha and his family were amazing with Arlo. From the initial introduction session to him staying for two weeks, they kept us updated, eased our anxieties, and ensured Arlo had fun with his new friends! Highly recommend Viryanatha…Arlo will definitely be back for more!”

“When we first met Deb we knew straight away that she and Freddie would be a good fit. Freddie has had a day stay and recently overnight for 2 nights. Deb treats Freddie as her own, going for long walks and enjoying each other's company. I would definitely recommend. Paula”

“Daniel was very accommodating and our staffy was well looked after. Plenty of update photos and videos. Great communication before and during her stay. Regular walks and she seemed very comfortable and happy to be there. Would definitely recommend.”

“We can’t rate Lauren highly enough! Our Bella loved her time with Lauren and the kids. Trying to pick Bella up to bring her home and she curls up next to Lauren, which I’m taking as the dog equivalent of “I want to live here now”. We’ve already rebooked with Lauren for the next trip away”

Juliet (and her entire family!!!) took such wonderful care of our senior spaniel who is quite fussy and set in her ways. They quickly discovered all her personality quirks and adapted to suit all of Willows needs. Daily updates, videos and pictures - we knew she was in great hands. Lovingly spoilt and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend and use Juliet again. Thank you for taking such super care of Willow x

No is absolutely amazing! My six year old pug, Molly, had the best time at Jo’s whilst I was away. It’s a home away from home for Molls and I know she’s in the absolute best of hands! Jo was super attentive with Molly and very accommodating. It was so wonderful to get daily updates on Molly and the end of holiday report card was such a special touch! Molly loved Jo’s kids and had the best time playing and snuggling with them every day. I can’t recommend Jo highly enough :)

We were so glad we found Mica & Charlie (and Mollie!) to take care of our 3 month old puppy, Arlo for the weekend. It was our first time away from Arlo, and from the beginning they put us completely at ease. They are so patient, kind and caring - and it is evident they truly love and understand dogs. They kept us regularly updated, and it was amazing to see Arlo have so much fun while we were away.

We're so pleased that we found Eleanor and Joe to look after our dog Luna who can be a little nervous at times. They were fantastic with her and it was a huge reassurance that she was being cared for so well while we were away. She seemed to feel very relaxed around them both and we wouldn't hesitate to rebook.
Tina is excellent, all around. She has had our golden retriever over twice and each time she cared for her so well. You can tell she really loves the dogs x This time around our puppy wasn’t settling and for hours she spent time with her, trying to help calm her down and staying with her while we tried to get back asap, and she was so understanding. She’s an absolute angel💗
Bertie had a great time with Estelle. I know she was worried because Bertie wouldn't eat for the first few days but once he started he was fine. From the photos she sent and all the updates he certainly enjoyed all his walks and loved being made a fuss of. She is a great carer/boarder and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anybody else. Thanks Estelle.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
