“Anna was fantastic looking after my very energetic dachshund! Very caring, experienced and he clearly loved her. It was a last minute request and Anna even made time to come round the day before to meet Louie and myself. Would definitely book again, thank you!!”

“Clare was amazing looking after our dog Barley. She was lovely, respectful, and kept me updated throughout the evening which gave me great peace of mind as he has never been left with anyone other than family. Barley had a great time and was so relaxed when we got home. We’ll definitely be booking her again — highly recommend! Thank you x”

“Thomas and Zoe are fantastic sitters! We have two big, stubborn doggies including a rescue and they were both very happy when we returned, our apartment was well taken care of too. They are great communicators which is very important to us, and we were kept updated with lovely pictures- all of our dog’s routines were kept to perfectly. They were flexible through some changes in plans and we will definitely be using them again. We are grateful we found such trustworthy people!”

About: As well as having our own cats and dogs since myself and my partner were about 8 years old, in our adult lives we have house sat or looked after various family members and friends dogs and will continue to do so! I work full time, but from home on Wednesdays, so can happily take care of pets on this day, as well as every other weekend! Happy to have pets stay for full weekends too! We have plenty of space for pets inside and outside of our house, including a conservatory and fenced garden. I’m also happy to go to pet owners houses to feed cats and other animals on preferred days if needed.
About: Hi, I’m Mickey! I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years, helping out neighbours, friends, and family with everything from daily walks to longer house stays. I started dog walking regularly while I was in college, and since then I’ve continued to look after dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I offer dog walking and dog sitting (including overnight stays), and I always make sure each dog gets the attention, exercise, and care they need to stay happy and healthy. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I treat every dog like they’re my own—making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to send updates and photos so you have peace of mind. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to meet you and your dog! I’m currently working full time as well. I am able to be booked for walks but they will be later in the day. I am mainly going to be available for dog sitting at your home. Please be aware that I will be out of the house weekdays due to work but back at night. I will follow any instructions given to make sure your pet is as comfortable and safe as possible. I have house sat many times and know how to make sure a pet is comfortable.
“First time using Rover & Holly. Definitely recommend. Holly was very accommodating with our complicated schedule. The dogs LOVED her & she left our home clean & tidy when she left. Holly is definitely our new dog sitter!”

About: I grew up with dogs as much as I did with cats. My first experience was when I was two years old and visiting my home country. There I interacted with and befriended my family’s guard dogs. I kept this up through all my visits to my country as well as during my childhood in the UK. I spent a good chunk of my primary and secondary school days playing with the neighbours’ dogs and also got to look after two of the puppies while the neighbours were away. I then took on work experience at a vet where I got to see dogs every day and interact with them as a healthcare provider as well as a friend. I got to know dogs as patients and companions and learned a lot about their physiology, body language and communication quirks. I have always loved dogs and cats. In my domiciliary care experience, I have found myself taking care of patients and their pets. This has increased my experience and confidence in working with dogs. I have never met a dog that didn’t like me. I am a medical student with days on and off campus. Most of my time is spent at home, studying. I’m a homebody and rarely go out aside from school and grocery shopping. I can board your pet or visit your home to check on them. I am also available for house sitting if there is ample parking and I am close to my university campus. I live in a large house with lots of great hiding spots and high points. I also have a large fenced garden for your cat to play and bask in. There are several secure buildings on my property in case your cat requires a smaller, darker or lower foot traffic area. My cats live in the main house but are very chill and friendly. However quarantine is possible if they don’t get along with your furry friend. When it comes to your own home, I have experience in domiciliary care and so I am accustomed to working in people’s houses whilst respecting their space. I can visit your felines and ensure they are fed, watered and that their litter tray is clean. I can also provide them with company for a while and sit outside with them if they would like to get some sun. I will always leave the place as I found it and may also do some light cleaning if I find a mess.
“Fabulous 👌 the girls adored her and took to her from the initial visit. Very confident and kept us well informed as to the girls well-being. Lovely to see them relaxed and out walking after only 1 day”

“I highly recommend Liana for taking exceptional care of my dog, brilliant attention to detail. Thank you Liana. Spikie was delighted to see you again, a very happy boy, he had a good day. Great pictures throughout the sitting. Good to know the boy is in safe hands.”

“I just want to reach out and say a huge thank you for today.! I am so incredibly pleased with how things went with Mazie and Mudiwa. To be honest, after our initial meeting, l was a little concerned about how Mazie would adjust, as you know he can be wary of new people in our premises. However you clearly handled him brilliantly. Coming home to find the “boys” relaxed, happy and tired in a good way and settled made me so happy and relieved. It’s clear you have built a great rapport with Mazie and Mudiwa, and l appreciate the effort and patience you put in. Thank you again for such a fantastic job. It means a lot to know they were in such capable and caring hands. All the Best Gerald Rukambiro”

“Viktorija and Iveta did a lovely job looking after our home and three dogs over the August bank holiday weekend. Very happy with their communication and service and would definitely recommend and use again.”

“We had a great experience using Rover and would happily recommend Ashleigh. She was friendly, confident, and immediately put us at ease. She came prepared with her DBS certificate, asked lots of thoughtful questions about our dog, and clearly cared about making sure he was comfortable. Throughout the stay she sent updates and photos, which was really reassuring. When we arrived home, our dog was calm, relaxed, and clearly very settled. We’ll definitely be using Ashleigh again in the future. was our first time using Rover and”

About: With 2 years of experience caring for a wide variety of pets, I bring not just love and attention, but also reliability and knowledge to every pet I care for. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and needs, including high-energy puppies! What sets me apart from other sitters is my calm, attentive approach and strong understanding of animal behaviour. I’ve successfully helped socialise anxious pets, provided gentle care for older dogs, and followed detailed routines to keep every pet feeling safe and happy. I’m comfortable with crate training, leash work, administering medication and any care based on your pet’s unique personality. Whether your dog loves long walks or just playful companionship, I adapt to provide the best experience possible. I’m currently working part-time during the week so I have flexibility to provide support based on your requirements - I work from home at times and can manage my diary around this. I have a fenced garden and access to a large outdoor area (unfenced) for lovely outdoor walks. I have plenty of room for a crate if this is what you’d like.
“Hollie was absolutely fantastic with my dogs – Chaos and Tara adored her! She stayed with them in our home for five nights, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was actually the first time we’ve ever had to leave them and use a dog sitter, so I was extremely anxious. As every dog owner knows, they’re like our babies, and the thought of leaving them in someone else’s care was really hard for me. From the very first moment, Hollie’s calm, confident and kind energy completely reassured me. She kept me updated throughout, sending photos and messages, which made it so much easier for me to relax while we were away. I truly didn’t have to worry at all. I can only recommend Hollie – she is wonderful, and I will absolutely be asking for her help again in the future. It’s such a relief to know that I can now travel with peace of mind, trusting her completely with both my dogs and my home.”

About: Hello, I’ve been a dog and cat owner for over 12 years. Having lost my dogs last year due to old age I have now embarked on a dog grooming course which I will eventually open my own business from home. This currently allows me to have free time in my home to look after your family pet. This allows me to have all the cuddles and kisses and company from your pet rather than the commitment of owning my own pets again. With a weeks notice I’ll be able to be as flexible as you need. I am currently on a flexible dog grooming course currently which I am fitting In around my life. My house is a fenced garden with NO escape! So you wouldn't need to worry about escapees. I can accommodate to your structure with your pet also and stick to feeding schedules and walking schedules. I am very organised and punctual so sticking to a timetable is how I like to approach my daily life so jobs get done and in a timely manner. You can guarantee your pet will get lots of cuddles and strokes from me with undivided attention or if your pet doesn’t like that then I also know when to not cross that boundary.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, and my family currently has two Pomeranians, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pet. I also have hands-on experience providing dog boarding and sitting services, which has given me a strong understanding of different temperaments and care needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply providing calm, cosy companionship, I always make sure each dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I treat every dog as if they were my own. I live in a house with a large garden, surrounded by wooded areas and plenty of great walking routes, so your dog will have lots of space to explore and enjoy. Our two family dogs live separately with my sister in an annexe, so if your dog prefers their own space or needs to be away from other dogs, I can easily accommodate that. I’m also happy to care for reactive dogs and will always take the time to understand your dog’s specific needs and routines to ensure they feel comfortable and secure. Whether it's checking on food, providing medication, or simply offering companionship, I always take extra steps to create a calm and secure atmosphere. Your pet’s well-being is always my focus!

“David was very well prepared and completely comfortable looking after our St Bernard Arthur. He kept us up to date on how Arthur and our 2 cats were getting on. Arthur takes daily meds which were all taken care of. I would happily reccomend David for any future requirements. 100% happy with the service.”

“Tanvi C is the first house sitter that I have used and initially I was worried. However, as soon as I met Tanvi I felt instantly reassured that my precious pup would be thoroughly spoilt. Cheno has been so well cared for and has formed a bond with Tanvi which is obvious from the photos. Tanvi has looked after my house perfectly and I have been very impressed from the start. Tanvi has a clear love for animals. I have been able to have a relaxing break knowing all was fine at home. Thank you Tanvi. T.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Gravesham walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gravesham choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
