“Verity took excellent care of our 3 month old golden retriever - which isn't always the easiest of tasks! She sent lots of lovely updates, and struck up a great bond with him in a short time! Will definitely be re-booking her services moving forwards.”

About: I had my own dog, a Border Collie called Morphy, from the age of 15 until he sadly passed away when I was 30. He was a huge part of my life, and caring for him gave me years of hands-on experience with dogs and their individual personalities and needs. While the timing isn’t quite right for me to commit to owning a dog again just yet, I absolutely love being around dogs and regularly look after pets for friends and family. As a keen walker who enjoys spending time outdoors, I’m always happy to provide plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship for your four-legged friend. Whether it’s a walk, a day of care, or some company while you’re away, I’ll treat your dog as if they were my own and make sure they feel happy, safe, and well cared for. I currently work from home, which means I’m able to provide plenty of companionship and attention throughout the day. Your dog will have regular opportunities to go outside for toilet breaks, as well as enjoy a couple of walks each day, depending on their age, energy levels, and routine. I understand how important it is for dogs to feel comfortable, cared for, and included, so I’ll ensure they receive lots of attention, exercise, and affection while they’re in my care. I have a secure, fenced garden where your dog can safely relax and play. As I don’t currently have a dog of my own, it’s an ideal environment for dogs who prefer their own space or enjoy one-to-one attention. That said, my mum’s dog does occasionally come to stay, so if your dog enjoys the company of other dogs, there may be opportunities for some friendly four-legged companionship as well.
“Joanna was wonderful! It was a last minute booking, she was so kind and helpful and kept me updated throughout the day with lots of photos. Dottie had a fabulous day and throughly enjoyed playing with joanna's gorgeous sausage dog! Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by pets since I was very young, growing up with both dogs and cats and developing a genuine love for animals of all kinds, including rabbits and hamsters. Caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life, and I truly enjoy spending time with them, making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I currently have a small Bichon Frise, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. Because I have my own dog at home, I focus on caring for small and medium-sized breeds, where I can ensure a comfortable and safe environment for everyone. While I don’t take on larger breeds, I’m more than happy to provide attentive, reliable care for smaller dogs—whether that’s walks, day sitting, or home visits. Your pet will be treated with the same care, patience, and affection I give my own. My schedule is provided a week in advance, so it can vary slightly from week to week. However, this also allows me to plan ahead and offer good availability for pet care. I’m generally available mornings, afternoons, and evenings, and I’m flexible when it comes to arranging walks or home visits in advance. I always do my best to help As a pet owner, I make my dog Freddy’s happiness and wellbeing a top priority. He gets plenty of walks every day—even if that means spending my work breaks outside with him. We usually enjoy shorter walks around the block or by the river, along with one or two longer walks in the park for extra exercise and stimulation. At home, I’ve created a very dog-friendly environment filled with toys, cozy blankets, and (of course) treats. While the whole house is welcoming to dogs, the sofa is definitely a favourite spot for relaxing and feeling comfortable.
About: Welcome! I am an experienced dog walker, sitter and boarder. I have looked after dogs with a range of needs including medical and nutritional. I have a back garden and access to two large parks in the area. I am caring, patient and professional. Speak soon! I am available most days and only work a couple of evenings a week. My husband works from home - so in the event I am at work, he is able to look after the animals also. He is experienced in pet sitting too and you will be able to meet him in a meet and greet. I treat them like a family member and I am intuitive to their needs. I will make sure they have lots of stimulation, affection (if wanted!), time to relax and exercise.
About: My partner and I grew up with dogs, cats and other pets and I have had animals around all my life. We are trusted by friends, family and Rover contacts to care for their pets covering a wide range of personalities, routines, and needs. Our experience includes all aspects of care such as feeding, grooming, administering medications, exercising, and providing calm support through illness or recovery and I am passionate about the wellbeing of the animal. We recently had to say goodbye to our own gorgeous dog who had a chronic heart condition. This meant regular medications and close monitoring as well as ensuring she remained physically and mentally stimulated without causing strain. I’m patient, observant, and reliable, and take time to understand each pet’s individual routine so they feel safe, settled, and well cared for. Whilst we are not ready to commit to another dog of our own we enjoy welcoming and reassuringly caring for your furry companion. I work from home most days, so I’m around throughout the day to provide company, care, and walks tailored to each pet’s energy level and needs. To ensure pets aren’t left alone for extended periods, I don’t accept bookings on days when I’m required to be in the office unless we can agree a drop-in whilst I am out. On available weekends, I offer boarding in a calm, home-from-home environment. My calendar shows when I’m generally available, but please feel free to get in touch if a date appears unavailable — there may be some flexibility. We have a private garden for regular toilet breaks. Although this is not fenced off we would make sure your fur-baby is safe. We also have several walks nearby. If allowed in your home, we are comfortable to have pets on the furniture.
“Teddy had a great time, Jakub and Luka took great care of him and gave us regular feedback on the time Teddy spend with them and Ivy. We will definitely ask them to look after Teddy again. Thank you so much.”

About: What started as simple passion has grown into several years of dedicated dog care, during which I’ve worked with many different pups—each with their own personality and needs. I’m also a proud rescuer of a dog who wasn’t given much of a chance, and that journey taught me even more about patience, trust, and how the right approach can completely change a dog’s life. I truly believe there are no bad dogs. As a home educator, caring for dogs fits perfectly into our lifestyle. My 14-year-old daughter is very much on board, and together we give each dog plenty of attention, love, and gentle structure throughout the day. Your dog will never be left feeling bored, anxious, or ignored—they become part of our little family. When you’re away, we provide cuddles, calm reassurance, playtime, fun walks, and all the one-on-one care your pup needs to feel safe, happy, and content. With us, your dog is in devoted, loving hands and will be wagging with joy until you return! 🐶💛 Pet care is a natural part of my daily rhythm. As a passionate dog lover, I make sure each dog in my care gets everything they need—three walks a day, plenty of cuddles, playtime, and lots of attention. I treat every dog like my own, making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved throughout their stay. Safety and trust are at the heart of everything I do. If your dog is closely bonded with you and might try to escape, I kindly ask that they wear a tracker—just as a precaution. Dogs are incredibly clever, and while I always provide a secure and calm environment, it’s important to be one step ahead. We spend our days surrounded by nature—fields, woods, and meadows—far from traffic and noise. I'm not a town girl; I believe the countryside offers the perfect setting for dogs to roam, sniff, and feel at peace. Your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priority.
“Charlie’s first stay with Katie and her lovely bouncy Dexter. He cried when I left him but I had an update video 10 minutes later and he was having a great time on a walk. He’s clearly had a very good day and didn’t want to leave. Would recommend and definitely book again.”

“Rosanna was so wonderful with our puppy! She is very accommodating and has a lovely set up and routine. She has 2 beautiful dogs of her own. Tiggy loved playing with them and had some wonderful walks. We got lots of lively updates and photos. Would highly recommend and definitely be using again! X”

“The one place Bellsie is truly happy with away from home. When she realised where she was going today, she literally dragged me running there. The best care you could ask for,”

“Francesca is a wonderful pet-sitter! Milo loved her and I think was a bit disappointed when it was time to come home. She clearly loves dogs and the work she does. Goes on long walks with the pooches, extending treats along the way. All fun and games with Francesca! Highly recommend!”

“Ana was the first person to look after our 4-month-old puppy, and he clearly had a wonderful time. Ana sent me regular photos/updates, and when I came to collect our puppy he was in no rush to go--he was having a lovely time with Ana and her dog! I am looking forward to booking Ana again and I know my puppy is too.”

“Jamie and Liv were great, we did a meet up the day before and they sent updates throughout the day. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to other dog owners! 😊”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, so caring for dogs comes completely naturally to me. “Felt so reassured leaving Ziggy with Kirsten for the day. It’s the first time we had used a sitter and felt comfortable straight away - we’ve now booked her for a weeks stay when we go on holiday. Ziggy didn’t want to leave!”

“Olivia looked after our dog Molly for us for the day at relatively short notice when we had to be out of town. She was very helpful and responsive, and Molly clearly had a great time staying with her. We would recommend her unreservedly and will no doubt book with her again.”

Joanna was brilliant. She was calm, friendly and knowledgable about dog behaviours. She put me at ease throughout the day by keeping me updated with videos and photos! She was good at communicating and overall an excellent place for our Whippet to spend the day!

Verity looked after our puppy, Holly, twice this week and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she was incredibly friendly, approachable, and easy to communicate with - always responding quickly and making everything feel very straightforward and reassuring. She kindly arranged to meet us and Holly beforehand, which gave us the opportunity to see where Holly would be staying and helped us feel really comfortable and confident leaving her in Verity’s care. It was clear straight away that she is very knowledgeable and experienced with dogs, which made a huge difference for us as puppy owners. Throughout the day, Verity kept us updated regularly on the Rover app with messages and lovely photos, which we really appreciated. We could clearly see that Holly was happy, relaxed, and enjoying herself, and it gave us real peace of mind knowing she was being so well looked after. We felt completely secure leaving Holly with Verity and will definitely be using her again going forward. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and trustworthy dog sitter.

This was Fiadh’s first stay with Ellie Victoria and safe to say that we will not hesitate to book again. Communication has been brilliant - from the meet and greet to messages and photos on the day. Fiadh has come home very happy and it’s clear she’s been well looked after. Thank you Ellie.

Celia looked after my 2-year-old cockapoo for the day. She responded to messages on Rover promptly, sent a photo and update during the day, which was reassuring. She took him out for a nice long walk to the town centre and park and played with him in her flat. I would recommend Celia for doggy daycare and be happy to book her again in the future. Thank you Celia for looking after Oatchi so well 🙂🐩

Always happy to leave Milo with Georgia. As usual he pulled me up the driveway and started to settle in immediately. The at-home pic says it all. We were delayed 30 mins+ on the way back due to a crash on A2 but Georgia was not worried and took the delay all in her stride. Thanks Georgia. Milo’s obviously very happy staying with you!

Rebecca was brilliant from the start. My dogs had not done day care at someone else’s house before, but Rebecca and her partner made it so easy for them. We had a 1 to 1 dog walk first to make sure everyone was happy and it did the trick. I will most certainly use Rebecca again.

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in South East England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
