“Rita was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for our 20-day trip! From the very beginning, she was warm, reliable, and clearly experienced with cats. She took excellent care of Freya—administering her medications as advised, keeping up with her routines, and most importantly, bonding with her beautifully. Freya took to her instantly. We received regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Rita also kept the house spotless and even left us a lovely plant as a thoughtful surprise. Her presence made our travels truly worry-free. I would highly recommend Rita to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and genuinely kind cat sitter—and would absolutely have her back again!”

“Matt and his daughter kindly stepped in to look after Loki for us at the last minute after another sitter cancelled. Loki adores him and we came home to a very happy dog. Thank you again!”

“It was our first time booking Nikki, and also our first time having someone look after Fiadh in our flat. Add in that Fiadh had just had her spay and was still in recovery. Nikki was fabulous from point of meet and greet to her calm and reassuring presence on the night. Fiadh settled quickly with Nikki and as a result we were able to go out for the night feeling calm. We highly recommend Nikki and look forward to seeing her again.”

“Beverley was great. She house-sat for a day and stayed overnight, took good care of my dog and cats, treated the house as her own and kept it clean and tidy. We even had a coffee the next day in the garden and got to know one another a bit better. She’s absolutely lovely. Definitely recommend her to take care of furry family!”

About: I’ve owned several dogs and cats for more than 30 years. I’ve had moggies, Maine Coons, Beagles and Cyprus Rescues. I’m also a trained dog groomer. I have my own dog and enjoy walks. I can walk at any time of the day. I can also sit in your own home for half days or pop in when needed. I treat dogs and cats like family which mine are. I give lots of cuddles but always let them approach me as they are comfortable. I can walk them, pop them in the garden and of course feed them. I provide company and companionship.
“Christie was absolutely wonderful with my crew! Her daily pupdates were truly enjoyed each evening and it was great to see a snapshot into their days. I have an older, skeptical pup who was thoroughly won over by her, although it sounds like my younger one was trying at times - although still snuggled with her each night! Our home was left cleaner than we left it, our animals happy and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. We’d absolutely book Christie again for any future trips. Thank you!”

“Ditto and Panko were delighted with Emma. They really enjoyed her company when she came over. Their needs were seen to and our home was left tidy. Can't wait to have her back :)”

“Magda has been absolutely brilliant with Philly! She’s quite a nervous dog and suffers from separation anxiety but she seemed so relaxed and happy with Magda and her lovely daughter. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Zoe is an excellent dog sitter and I would highly recommend her. Not only is she very diligent and respectful of our dog Oscar and his needs, she went above and beyond by doing lots of dog walks before our first sit so that Oscar (who can take a while to warm up to new people) was happy and confident with her. She is very patient and attentive and gentle with Oscar which he responds really well to. She is very intuitive and I completely trust her with him.”

“Ariadne and John were absolutely fantastic sitters! They took care of our needy cat and anxious pup over the long Easter weekend and it was perfect. Super reliable, good communication, a picture of each pet a day, and super flexible to accommodate our pets' specific needs. They even did us other favors like putting out our bin and watering our numerous plants. Our house was spotless when we got back, and our pets were well looked after. We will absolutely book them again!”

“Shannon was amazing. She was happy to do a meet and greet and spent the whole day with Persy. She was very comunicative and responsive to all our messages. She really put us at ease as we were nervous to leave her for the first time for a holiday! Thank you Shannon! Will definitely use again 😊”

Isabella & Adam were perfect sitters. I came back to a very happy Freddie, who had clearly enjoyed having them look after him. The house was tidy and well cared for, and I was incredibly impressed with everything they did. It gave me great peace of mind knowing Freddie and my home were in such good hands while I was away. I can’t thank them enough and would happily recommend them to anyone. Thank you both for everything! 🐾😊

Rita stepped in at the last minute to house-sit and watch our cat, Loki, following a hospital visit he had. Since we weren’t in town, Rita had to administer medicine (pills) and watch to ensure Loki did not have a repeat incident. We were nervous to leave our cat and home in the hands of someone we had never met before, but Rita did a fantastic job! She provided us regular updates on Loki, responded to our questions quickly, and left our house in better shape than when we’d handed over the keys originally! I couldn’t recommend her enough, thanks Rita!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Tonbridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tonbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
