“Claudia and Calum were a hit with Hachi right off the bat! They were wonderful all day - sending us photos and updates - plus with the added hardship of the heat- made sure he was happy and cool throughout the day!! Thank you so much!! ☺️”

“This was MJs first time with Lenia and Constantina . He is a very friendly and sociable dog but still young and can be a bit hyper if he is in a new situation or anxious . They both looked after him so well with lots of updates and photos to let me know how he was getting on . He was so happy and calm at the end of the day when I collected him and I’m sure he had an amazing time . They are such lovely people and obviously love dogs . MJ had a fab time and will definitely want to come and stay again - Jas & Vaneeta x”

“Andrew looked after MJ for the first time and he had wonderful time with him . Andrew is incredibly patient and kind and a great communicator and he has a real love and understanding for dogs . He is fully prepared with an array of toys and games and other doggy paraphernalia and I’m sure he would look after your pet with incredible care we will definitely want him to look after MJ again”

About: Pavel (my partner) and I love dogs, and I’ve also discovered that I truly enjoy working with them. In the summer of 2024, a friend entrusted us with her energetic and reactive four-year-old Cockapoo. I took several courses and worked closely with a professional dog trainer to teach him to leave things on the ground, walk nicely on a leash, settle down when needed, greet guests calmly, tolerate grooming and drying, get ready for walks without stress, and stay calm at home. While we saw real progress, it was inconsistent, and after four months, Pavel and I realized we weren’t ready to live in constant stress over Yosi’s setbacks long-term. Yosi found a loving new home, and now we’ve embraced the joy of hosting dogs temporarily — giving them love, attention, and care while their owners are away. I’m currently looking for remote work, so I have plenty of time to play with and keep a pooch entertained when they’re awake and want attention. BEFORE THE STAY Before each stay, I always meet you and your pup so everyone can get comfortable. We’ll take a little walk, see where we’ll be going for strolls, and let your dog explore our home — that way, the first day feels familiar and stress-free. SETTLING IN During the first few days, I stay home full-time so your dog can settle in calmly. If your pup has separation anxiety, I’ll make sure they’re never left alone. CARE & COMFORT I’m happy to follow your dog’s usual routine — feeding schedule, brushing, medications, supplements, or any little rituals that make them feel secure. If your dog gets anxious around brushes, clippers, or harnesses, I can gently help them get used to those things using only positive reinforcement. WALKS, PLAY & ENRICHMENT At first, our walks are all about exploring, sniffing, and getting to know the neighborhood. Once your dog feels safe with us, I add more fun and challenge — fetch, tug games, trick training, and scent games for mental stimulation. I always walk dogs on a long leash (never a retractable one), and if you don’t have one, I’ve got one ready. When your dog reliably responds to my voice — and with your permission — we can enjoy some safe off-leash time in the park. ESSENTIALS FOR YOUR PUP 🛋 Dog sofa 🦮 5-meter leash 🚰 Water bottle for long walks 🧴 Duoxo S3 shampoo for safe clean-ups 🧩 Lick mat & Kong to help your dog relax ❄️ Cooling mat for hot days 🚗 Car hammock & safety belt (for harness use only) for comfortable rides out of town
About: I've loved animals since I was a little girl, forever pestering my parents for a dog(!), and although they never gave in (damn) I have been lucky enough to live with a range of different dogs over my 8 years in London - from chihuahua to golden retriever! As well as being designated dogsitter, I have made a variety of furry pals from Borrow My Doggy, who I look after for daytime company, walks or weekend/holiday stays. I work in Marketing at an Education Charity and am home based three/four days a week. I live with depression so it’s really important I get out and about for a walk on these days in particular - but it doesn’t always happen unfortunately! I find spending time with animals so therapeutic, and when I am dogsitting I find the motivation and purpose of walking a dog really helpful and always lifts my mood. I am fairly active, love being out in nature and visiting new places, but equally I am a very relaxed person and am more than happy spending time at home. I live in a spacious one bedroom flat with a secure balcony and Branston my adorable ragdoll cat 🐱 who is very sweet and well behaved around dogs (he needs to be for when I eventually get one!) but it does mean for stays/holidays I would only be able to take on a dog that is good with cats. I'm very close to two large parks, so plenty of room for pups to roam and of course, lots to sniff!
“Bofrot had such a wonderful time with Lishan. She not only took amazing care of him but also went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable, played and rested well throughout the day. As a first-time puppy owner, I really appreciated how patient and knowledgeable she was. She shared genuinely helpful advice and updates that made me feel completely at ease. It’s so clear that she truly loves and understands dogs. I can’t recommend Lishan enough. Bofrot came home happy, relaxed and full of tail wags!”

“Alex and Mykal could not have been any more accommodating of my little dog - asking all the right questions even before the Meet & Greet (she has medical needs) where they made plenty of time for us, paired with frequent updates during her stay, I’m always reassured my dog is in very good hands. Taking great care of introductions and day-to-day care, they’re very diligent and super kind and personable pet lovers, a great fit for us! Thank you 🙏”

About: At the age of 8 I had my first dog, an English Springer Spaniel and continued to have dogs until just a few years ago when my last beloved passed away. I have loved and cared for dogs nearly my entire life including puppies and senior dogs. I hand reared 5 orphaned puppies and raised them to adulthood. I have vast experience with large breed dogs with mine having been German Shepherd and Dogue De Bordeaux Mastiff crosses. I have experience with administering medication and muzzle training with reward based training. If doggy day care is required, your dog will receive 2 walks within the day. I am at home daily and my child will be at school weekdays, so your dog will have my undivided attention. If overnight boarding is booked I will provide up to 3 walks per day. I will generally only need to be out briefly for school runs and groceries during weekdays. I have a good sized fenced garden with lawn and I live right beside a park. Do let me know what your dog likes and dislikes regarding walks. Are they reward based trained? (treat trained). Do they react to other dogs, cats or people? I live with my child and husband so it is essential that the dog is calm and not reactive if they are to be boarded in my home. Meeting a dog beforehand must be arranged.

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Croydon
Micah and his wife took amazing care of my dog while I was working. They kept Villa happy with playtime, walks, and naps. More importantly their house was cool during the London heatwave. Couldn’t recommend Micah more highly and very happy with the care and attention.

Louise and her wonderful little Rolo took amazing care of my dog for 2 days while I was working. She kept Villa happy with playtime, walks, naps and Rolo was kind enough to share his food and toys with Villa. Couldn’t recommend Louise more highly and very happy with the care and attention.

Cookie ran into Nicky’s without a backward glance at me and had a wonderful time as always. Nicky made sure Cookie was kept cool in the heat and even put out a paddling pool for her in the shade, which unfortunately she wouldn’t go near!! I was kept informed and sent photos during the day.

Gabrielle took wonderful care of our dog, Lady, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the start, she was friendly, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. Lady was happy, relaxed, and well looked after throughout her stay, and we really appreciated the updates and photos that kept us reassured while we were away. It's obvious that Gabrielle goes above and beyond to make pets feel comfortable and cared for. We would have no hesitation in booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Gabrielle, for taking such great care of Lady!

Lynsey has been caring for Codi for a while now. He’s so excited when Lynsey opens her front door. He runs in and out while Lynsey and I have a chat. She’s worked out his little habits and loves to have a nap or he’s by the doors looking across the green area. He’s settling in really well. Lynsey is fabulous.

Reuben and his partner were incredible and came to our rescue with a last minute daycare booking at the time we needed it most. They looked after Piglet in their lovely home when she was feeling ill and gave her the amazing care she needed. We’re so grateful to you both and would book again in a heartbeat.

Baby met me in advance to see how the pups got on which was great. Ci.nhnjxated through the day and the doggies looked like they had lots of fun. Always a good sign is if molly whimpers when leaving as mesnx she doesnt want to leave so i jobs she had a lovely time

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Greater London may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
