“Megan is a beautiful person and was absolutely wonderful and extremely patient and confident with my little old boy, Who is a rescue from BDH. We had a meet and greet and she was brilliant putting Uno and myself at ease. Megan has a lot of love and experience with dogs, as she has had her own for many years. She has a great understanding of what the dogs needs are. Uno takes medication and she was such a professional given him his tablets and she also has an understanding of dogs that have medical needs. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, caring, intuitive, responsible, patient, caring, intuitive, responsible dog sitter. When I dropped him off, Megan already had a bowl of water ready for him. She was so welcoming and with all of my boys special needs and quirks, Megan took them all in, she was not phased at all with him. Uno has separation anxiety and Megan was able to settle him down after I left, and then within a few hours they became buddies. Megan is a very loving , peaceful, caring person and loved Uno. She took the time to get to know him and quickly understood his needs and queues for what he wanted. This is very needed for my boy to get to know him. He was with Megan for a day and I also booked for uno to go for a 4 night holiday stay with her, He loved it! He got lots of cuddles and loving and was resting together in the same room. He loves a peaceful environment and that's what he got being with her. Megan communicate with you on a regular basis. Thank you Megan for taking such good care of my boy and keeping me updated with photos and texts. I would 100% recommend Megan for your pet babies.”

About: Need a dog sitter at short notice? If I’m available, I’d love to help. Friendly, flexible care in our family home. We have a 7 year old Cockapoo who would love a playmate from time to time. I grew up with dogs and would love to help look after yours as I know how hard it can be! My work is varied but I work from home a lot so last minute requests are not a problem. I have a dog myself so I am home most of the time! Although I am in a flat, we have a communal garden and I am close to local parks and I walk several times a day.
“Bella is the love of our lives, and we had never left her with anyone before, so choosing someone to look after her was a huge decision for us. We’re a family of four plus Bella, our English Cocker Spaniel. She’s an extremely loving and active girl who needs lots of love, attention and, of course, cuddles! 🐶❤️ We found Riley on Rover and chose him after reading his lovely reviews and having a telephone conversation beforehand. We immediately felt reassured, and our experience couldn’t have been better. Bella absolutely loved her stay with Riley. He kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which helped us enormously and gave us such peace of mind while we were away. Riley gave Bella so much love, care and attention, and it was clear how happy and comfortable she was with him. She actually misses him dearly! 🥰 We couldn’t recommend Riley highly enough and would definitely use him again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our girl! ❤️🐾”

“Norma has really bonded with the sitters, this was first overnight stay, the updates and photos were so sweet. They also take time to ask questions so they are really clear on routine. Thanks for taking such lovely care xx”

“Juliana and Daniel were amazing. We left our 3 yrd old husky with them and he came home happy and well cared for. We had constant updates. Will definitely be booking them again. Highly recommended.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs for over 20 years. I am a huge dog lover and I’m considering getting my own soon. I would love to help out with boarding, walks, checking in and doggy day care in Croydon and the surrounding area. I love walking and regularly go out walking during the day anyway, so would love to do this with your dog. I live next to a park and regularly go to other parks in the area as well that I can take your pet to. I will give them so much love and attention when they stay with me! I’ve looked after numerous dogs on Borrow My Doggy and often look after my friends dogs and cats as well. I work from home the majority of the week and can be flexible around a dog visit or boarding. I work from home 4 days a week, normally Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I’m often around on weekends as well so can be flexible. I have a one bed flat in Croydon that is very safe for animals. I live right next to a park so would take them out regularly and love going for long walks anyway.
“The PERFECT dog sitter! My chihuahua has a long list of specifics when being looked after and Laura took them all in her stride. I had pupdates daily and whenever i asked anything she replied really quick. Pablo came home for a few days between stays- but he was so excited to be reunited again with Laura. Would highly recommend snd will definitely be using again. Thankyou xxxx”

“Tanya and her family are truly amazing sitters. They surrounded our dog with so much warmth, love, and attention that he instantly felt at home. It was clear how genuinely they care for the animals they look after. We were so happy with the level of care and the comforting, family‑like environment they provided. Highly recommended!”

“Rosa helped us out with a short notice weekend booking for our terrier Paddy, and we'd wholly recommend her - lots of photos, lovely walks, timely responses, and Paddy seems very happy and tired! Thanks so much, guys.”

“I knew from the minute I met Lucy that my fur baby would have a lovely time with her and her little family. She also accommodated a last minute extension due to urgent work commitments. Very, very grateful. My fur baby has had a wonderful time and is snoring soundly after his exciting mini break with Lucy’s pugs. I hate being apart from my little dog but I know that he is in safe hands with Lucy x”

“Ruta is amazing! We met before to make sure she knew all of my dogs needs and asked lots of questions to make sure she provided the best care. During the stay, I received lots of videos and photos as well as detailed messages. I couldn’t recommend Ruta highly enough”

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Croydon
Shannon looked after our dog, Rudy this August. She was brilliant, Rudy was spoilt rotten and had a really good time, so much so, he did not seem that keen to come home when we picked him up. Shannon provided us with lots of updates and was very caring and looked after his every need. I would definitely recommend her and we certainly will try and book her again in the future.
Massive thank you for looking after my boy over the bank holiday weekend! I am completely over the moon with the care, exercise, and training you provided. It's such a relief to go away and know he is in the best possible hands. We will definitely be back! Thanks again for everything. Best wishes, Natalie & Vinnie

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
