“Sarah looked after my dog Harry for a few days recently while I was away. Fair to say he had a great time and was very well cared for. I'd highly recommend Sarah to others looking for someone to look after their beloved pet.”

“Juliet and the family love Reggie like their own. We are updated daily with events of the day. I have no concerns when Reggie is boarding with Juliet as I know he is so well looked after. 5* boarder family”
“Absolutely 5 stars! 🌟 Deepa and her husband took wonderful care of Alonso—he came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. They were warm, communicative, and genuinely kind throughout. I felt totally at ease knowing he was in such caring hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m Bally, and I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I’ve looked after dogs for over 30 years and currently have a very friendly Maltipoo called Cookie, who loves having company around. My aim is simply to give pets a calm, comfortable environment where they can settle in naturally and continue with the routines they’re used to at home. I understand that every dog is different, and many owners have specific routines, preferences, and training approaches that are important to them. I’m always happy to follow detailed care instructions to make sure both you and your pet feel completely at ease. I work mostly from home, so dogs receive plenty of attention throughout the day, along with regular walks, play, company, and of course cuddles if they enjoy them. I’m also located near parks and green spaces that are ideal for exercise and quieter walks. My home is best suited to well-behaved small to medium-sized dogs, and I intentionally keep numbers low so each dog gets plenty of individual attention and a relaxed, low-stress environment. You can also expect regular updates and photos while you’re away, as I know reassurance and communication matter just as much as good care. Whether you need occasional help or someone dependable while travelling, I’d be very happy to help care for your dog. I mostly work from home and have a flexible routine, which means dogs receive plenty of attention, company, walks, and time to settle comfortably throughout the day. I’m available for boarding Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and weekends and try to keep each dog’s usual routine as consistent as possible while they’re in my care. I provide a calm, safe, and relaxed home environment with a fenced garden. I only take a limited number of bookings at a time so each dog receives individual attention and care. Cookie is very friendly and used to having other dogs around, but I always make introductions gradually and carefully. Regular updates and photos are always included for peace of mind.
“Very friendly hosts! Sid the resident dog also friendly and sociable! Well equipped for pampered pooches. Also hosts very accommodating for me last minute extending stay! Will be back….”

“Where do I even begin?…..Firstly a huge thank you Rebecca for taking such good care of Barney. He has spent his first few days back with us sulking clearly missing you and Huxley. You treated him like he was your own and had lots of adventures with him. Knowing that he was with you, safe and having fun allowed us to completely relax. I would recommend highly recommended you and would love for you to take care of Barney again. Thank you again so much.”

“Teddy loved his time with Katarzyna, she looked after him so well and he was one of the family and we would 100% use her again. We also really appreciated the regular updates, thank you so much.”

“Our dog Benny stayed with Candice for a couple of days whilst we got married and he had the best time! Benny can be quite anxious when around new people and new environments which we were really worried about but Candice was so good with him and made us feel relaxed straight away! Thank you so much Candice!”

“Our girl cockerpoo had a wonderful time with her first sitter Gina. She did everything to make use feel at ease as this was new to us. Sent us photos and kept us informed - we were a little nervous because of the heat but Gina is an experienced dog owner and knows far more than us so we knew our girl was on very good hands. We will definitely be using Gina and look forward to building a long last relationship.”

“We met up with Caitlin a week before just so our dog could meet her in advance. Very happy all round she kept us updated and sent us some photos. Our dog seemed very chilled with her and I would have no hesitation in leaving her with Caitlin again she is very friendly and reliable.”

“Jen was great with our pup Otis - it was a late booking and despite never having looked after him before as we were only in the area for the afternoon - he had a great time and we had regular updates. Would highly recommend. Thanks Jen!”

About: Hey, I'm Emily, and I've been around animals for most of my life. I completed a two-year Animal Management course at college and gained lots of hands-on experience through placements at veterinary practices, the RSPCA, at a riding school, an agricultural school in Norway, and conservation projects in rainforest environments across the globe. Alongside this, I also regularly care for pets belonging to my friends and family. I have experience with dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs with additional care needs. I have plenty of experience with dogs requiring extra care, as I regularly care for my parents Cockapoo with a range of health conditions, and my partner's Dachshund who lived to 15 years old and required support with IVDD. These experiences have given me great experience and ability to adapt care to each dog's individual needs. I share my home with my friendly two year old Cocker Spaniel, who loves meeting and playing with other dogs! My partner Alex and I both work from home, meaning your dog will never be left alone and will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. Dogs staying with us can enjoy daily walks tailored to their needs, regular playtime in our secure garden and home, and lots of affection. I'm also happy to provide regular photo updates, as I love capturing special moments and helping owners feel connected while they're away. I joined Rover as we have the time, space, and flexibility to provide a genuine home-from-home experience. We love welcoming canine guests, and our dog Willow is always excited to make new friends! ☺️ My partner and I both work from home, which means your dog will have company and supervision throughout the day and will never be left alone. Our flexible schedules allow us to provide regular toilet breaks, playtime, enrichment activities, and plenty of attention. We are available for dog boarding throughout the week and on most weekends. Daily walks are tailored to each dog's needs, with opportunities for exercise, play, and relaxation. We also have a secure garden where dogs can safely spend time outdoors. We understand that every dog has their own routine, so we're happy to accommodate feeding schedules, sleeping arrangements, and other preferences wherever possible. Regular photo and video updates are available to give you peace of mind while you're away. Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I live in a house with a secure, enclosed garden, and because my partner and I both work from home, dogs are never left alone and receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with additional care needs. I share my home with my friendly young Cocker Spaniel, and all dogs are introduced carefully to ensure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. I'm happy to provide regular photo updates during your dog's stay, so you can have peace of mind knowing they're safe, settled, and having fun.
“We had real peace of mind knowing that Coco was being looked after so well. The photos and updates were a reassurance and helped us to relax and enjoy our holiday. We would be hard pushed to find anyone better to look after our little dog and these wonderful people will definitely be our first choice for future trips.”

“Thanks so much for having Monster and looking after her so brilliantly in the heat. The early morning and late night walks were very much appreciated. See you both soon and thank you!”

“Joel took great care of Maisie whilst she stayed with him and I hope they will have her to board again soon. He was very responsive to any messages and sent me lots of pictures showing how well she was settling in which was much appreciated.”

Kotchaporn was amazing, and I was very happy with the care she provided for my dog. He has separation anxiety, but she made him feel comfortable and at ease from the start. She took him on plenty of walks, sent lots of pictures and updates, and maintained great communication throughout his stay. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was well looked after. I would definitely use Kotchaporn again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.

Jack had a lovely time with Vikki and her family. Vikki’s home is well placed for lots of interesting walks, and she kept me updated with lots of photos. Jack had a great time playing with Vikki’s dog, and i can thoroughly recommend Vikki. I will certainly use her again.

Helen was amazing with our 2 little rascals! They were absolutely spoiled rotten during their stay. Helen gave regular updates of their activities and wonderful photos. Knowing they were so well cared for meant that we could focus on what we needed to at that time. Would happily rebook with Helen!

We can’t thank Orla enough. It was our first time going away for a long trip and leaving our dog with someone else for 10 days, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. Orla sent us daily updates and photos, which was such a comfort, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. We were able to completely relax knowing our dog was so well looked after. Highly recommend Orla – we’ll definitely be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 89% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
