“Ted had a lovely time with Ann and her family. He settled really quickly and got on well with the other dogs there, which was good as it was his first time away from home and us at the same time. We were sent lots of updates and photos during the week. Ann showed great care for Ted and we would definitely use her again. Thank you!”

About: We have looked after dogs of all sizes, from small breeds like Cavapoos to large, strong dogs like Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I’m confident handling different temperaments, energy levels, and needs — whether that’s relaxed companionship, regular walks, or more active play. We’re comfortable with feeding routines, basic training reinforcement, and making sure dogs feel safe and settled in their environment. I treat every dog like my own and always aim to give them proper attention, structure, and care. We have a flexible routine, which means we can give your dog plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. We’re available for, boarding, including weekdays and weekends. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods, and we can adapt to their usual routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. We provide a calm, safe, and structured environment where your dog will feel comfortable and well looked after. We’re confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments and always take the time to understand their needs, routines, and any specific instructions. Although we live in a flat, we have access to a large open field and nearby river, which is perfect for walks, exercise, and giving dogs plenty of space to explore safely. We prioritise safety at all times, whether that’s secure walks, feeding routines, or supervision at home. We’re also happy to crate if needed and will make sure your dog feels settled, secure, and properly cared for.

“We had an emergency and had to book last minute, and Karen was great, she responded quickly and helped us get everything sorted. Our dog fern hada great time and was very well looked after, and came home tired. Highly recommend!”

“Helped us out at short notice. Really friendly and helpful with good communication and questions about our dogs normal routine and likes followed by photos and updates meant we were able to relax in the knowledge she was being cared for. Lovely house and location and don't think Phoebe wanted to leave. Compared to how she has been following stays in kennels this was completely different and she obviously enjoyed her stay. Would not hesitate to use again.”

“Gordon had a lovely time staying with Meg and family! They greeted him with a very warm welcome and let him explore to get comfortable, and he came home very well rested and cared for! Thank you Meg for taking care of him in the heatwave, asking lots of questions and sharing pictures and updates throughout the day :)”

“Bramble was obviously very happy staying with Nathalia. Nathalia sent me photos of Bramble playing and sleeping contentedly on the sofa! I would not hesitate to leave Bramble with Nathalia again”

“Diana made Mr P feel like a part of their family right from the first meeting. Their confidence and experience with dogs was evident and reassuring. He had a wonderful holiday and made a new dog bestie - just as we hoped he would. We'll certainly be looking to book again for our future trips. Thank you so much!”

“Reggie had the most wonderful time with Prerna. We received regular updates and knew he was extremely well cared for throughout. We would 100% recommend her and would absolutely rebook for any future dates. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our Reggie!”

“Bowser was looked after extremely well by Claire and her girls. All communications ahead of his stay were great and I had no concerns despite this being his first time away from us. I wouldn’t hesitate leaving him under her supervision for any future stays”

“Shubham and Devika are truly, exceptionally kind. They spoilt Dill utterly. They drove him hours to the beach and gave him ever so much love. They sent lovely photos and videos and kept me updated. I feel ever so lucky to have found them. We live on a boat and move about but will go out of our way to leave Dill with them again.”

“Laura was fab when Walter stayed with her for 2 nights. We met up before and Laura took time to learn about his personality and quirks. Walter settled straight away, was well cared for and we had regular contact. Laura’s home is lovely. All the stars!”

About: I have grown up surrounded by dogs and have over 30 years of lifelong experience living with and caring for them. Dogs aren't just a job for me—they are a massive part of my life. Over the years I’ve developed hands-on experience sitting a wide range of breeds, sizes, and personalities. Such as managing the high-energy needs of Border Collies, understanding the playful nature of Boxers, or providing dedicated senior care and keeping a close eye on the unique needs of flat-faced breeds like Pugs, I treat every dog as if they were my own. I am attentive to your dog's regular routine, diet, and exercise needs. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, a closely monitored feeding schedule, or just a lot of affection and a quiet place to snooze. I work early morning shifts, which means I am back home and fully available for most of the day, as well as all day on weekends. Because of this schedule, your dog will rarely be left alone and will receive plenty of attention, regular bathroom breaks, and company throughout the afternoon and evening. We have a secure, fully fenced garden for safe playtime and quick sniffing breaks, and there is a great dog walking field nearby for longer, active exercises. Your pup will also have the company of our friendly miniature dachshund. I treat every pet with the upmost care, keeping their safety and comfort as my top priority.
“We had an amazing experience with this dog-sitting couple! They kept us updated throughout the stay with regular pictures and videos, which gave us peace of mind. They were quick to contact us with any questions or concerns, showing how much they truly cared about our dog’s well-being. Our dog felt completely comfortable and at home with them. They’re a wonderful couple, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their care. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had experience with a range of pets (cats, rabbits, and dogs) throughout my life. I have also been relied on by friends and neighbours to look after and check in on their pets whilst they were away. I am currently back home from university for the summer so have lots of time to play and care for your pets! I am available throughout the week to either come and feed, walk, or look after them for the day/night. Unfortunately, I do not have a car so further range without public transport options is not possible for me, however I live close to a large park and some lovely canal/river walks if your dog comes to stay. I have a large fenced garden with lots of room for dogs to play, and a dog of my own who is always excited to make friends and play with other dogs.

We couldn’t have asked for better care for our dogs! Debika and her partner looked after our two girls so well, and they kept us updated regularly with lovely photos. It was clear from the updates that both girls were loving all the attention and fuss they were getting. Our youngest happened to come into her period while we were away, and they handled everything so well and made sure she was comfortable and well looked after. I could genuinely see that they loved our dogs and treated them as if they were their own. When we came to collect them, they even stayed to see us off and made sure both girls had their walks and a chance to go to the toilet before we left. That little extra care really meant a lot to us. We would absolutely recommend Debika and her partner to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their dogs. We will definitely be using them again in the future! 🐾❤️

We could not have picked a better sitter!!! This is the first time we have left Goose and from the very start Emily ensured we felt confident and reassured. Having a trial run overnight to start was a huge help, and the regular updates and photos shared daily made the world of difference. With the warm summer weather, Emily had Goose out twice a day in the cooler hours and took him to the local lake to cool off. She gave him wagu beef (spolit!) and all the love and attention he deserves and is used to. He is a big dog and very strong, but this wasn't an issue at all. Picking Goose up he pawed at Emily in a way that showed he had bonded with her and enjoyed his time. Emily will now be our go-to for all of Goose's boarding needs and we will be sending strong recommendations to all our dog parent pals if they are ever in need. 10/10!!! Thank you Emily. X

Finding a sitter who can handle our temperamental Beagle is always a challenge, but Caroline was a brilliant match from the moment we met her. She's calm and unflappable, genuinely connects with the dogs in her care, and her home has such a warm, homely feel. We were away for two and a half weeks, and Caroline sent regular updates the whole time, which meant so much to us. Our dog settled in quickly and had lots of attention, good company from the other dogs (without being overwhelmed), and plenty of walks throughout her stay. We'd recommend Caroline without hesitation and will definitely be booking with her again!

Absolutely fantastic dog sitter - Joanne kept me updated about my dog throughout the weekend and sent photos and videos. He was super happy and tired when I picked him up. Joanne wasn’t phased by my dog being somewhat reactive to other dogs, and also managed his medication really easily. Thank you so much!

I left my dog with Andrea for one week, and I could say that it felt like they were there with me! Andrea was very careful with her, she sent me photos every day without asking for them, she let me know their program, keeping me posted on everything! I truly recommend Andrea, she is trustworthy and very kind!

Abilio had such a lovely time with Ivory and Andrew for a long weekend! They were so kind to our puppy and sent us several updates every day so we could see him having fun! We’ll definitely book another stay for Abilio with this lovely couple :) Thanks again for looking after Abilio and making sure he had a great time with loads of cuddles! :) We are so grateful for you taking such good care of him 🐾🥰

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
